The Best Vietnamese Restaurants in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"Find southern-style Vietnamese food at this perpetually busy, iconic San Gabriel restaurant. Come for the blistered chả giò stuffed with ground pork and wood-ear mushrooms, and stay for a bowl of phở, a platter of broken rice, or cool vermicelli noodles. The interior looks like a quirky old-school diner, with some leather booths framing the entrance, patterned wallpaper behind the cash wrap, and linoleum wood-paneled walls." - Cathy Chaplin

Google
I like the food here. The broth is rich in flavour and there are many sauces that you can use for your food. 🍕🥚🍲 Its so good here! You should come here too. The best thing about this is the way the food tastes in your bowl so that the water is absorbed into your stomach. 10/10 if I could give you a rating of 10/10. Grams for how many grams of yummy!

Google
the way this pho changed my life should be studied. i got brisket. i got wontons. i got eggrolls. i ate EVERYTHING. no crumbs left. every bite of this meal was magical. this place deserves a michelin star. i love you golden deli.

After years of avoiding this spot due to a disappointing past experience, I'm thrilled to say it's completely transformed! This second location has truly stepped up its game. What stood out: •Remarkably improved food quality and freshness •Patient, accommodating staff •Excellent overall dining experience •The egg rolls were fried nice and crispy, the pork was grilled just right, and the noodles had the right noodle:broth:topping ratio! Everything was all properly prepared, making my previous concerns about pricing and quality compared to their original location completely irrelevant. The only minor hiccup was receiving Chè Ba Màu instead of the Chè Đậu Đỏ I ordered, but it didn't detract from an otherwise fantastic meal. If you've been hesitant based on past experiences or reviews, it's definitely time to give this place another chance - they've clearly turned things around!

Google
had a quick and easy dinner in Golden Deli. Came in 30 minutes before theh closed the restaurant, and we could still order these four bowls of noodles. Vietnam cuisine offers soup and dry noodles. You could easily choose as many toppings as possible. I just went with the simple ones: - shrimp cake with chicken - spring roll with pork Dry noodles come with a small plate of sauce, that's for the noodles. I usually just pour it right in, you can first pour half then add more if you are the first time to visit. Nice place to come which serves some very good noodles.

Google
Didn’t have to wait for table on a Thursday night. Sat at a booth table towards the back of the restaurant. Order large combo pho and 3-eggroll side. Pho portion is just ok for a large size. The broth flavor is on the beefy side, which I don’t mind. The amount of meats can improve. Eggrolls are usually pretty good, but this time they were less crispy, and more on the soggy side.

Google
Thank goodness there is a second location. Very nice service and nice people working here. I really like the item combos. I got the rice combo with a pork chop and fried egg rolls. The pork chop is the best in any Vietnamese restaurant in my opinion. The pho is Golden Deli pho so the best around. Everything great!

Google
i loved this gem, my housemate recommended it and im so grateful since its only 15 minutes from me. I went on Saturday around 2:30pm and i typically dont like bigger/fancier asian restaurants when dining in by myself but this place was perfect for dining by myself and the service was friendly & quick. im very picky with Chicken Pho since it typically has less flavor than beef pho but this one was delicious. Great portion. The pork egg rolls & the jasmine iced tea were delicious too! i recommend 9/10 restaurant

Google
Review is for food only, not staff, restaurant, etc.. I did a walkin purchase for 2 pork banh mi. Cost: $21 rounded up This is the most unremarkable banh mi EVER. This restaurant is a sister store from their main store in San Gabriel so expectation are high. This is the blandest, cheapest, and COSTLIEST banh mi I've ever purchased. The packaging is nice and the bread is crunchy but that doesn't make up for the sandwich as a whole. The grilled pork is chopped up into bite size and they use cheap ass meat. I found a huge fat piece in my sandwich. It's so damn bad, I wish the owners read this and remove their banh mi from their menu.

Yelp
When I'm craving Vietnamese food I'm pretty much an open book. When we can't think of where to go, Golden Deli is always top of the short list. You know what to expect, food is good and service is exactly what you might expect from a restaurant like this.

Yelp
Super flavorful for a great price! The food stands out from your usual Vietnamese restaurant with its distinctive and explosive taste. Every food item had it's own distinct flavor. Even with a busy day, staff was very friendly and attentive. Food arrived fast. Highly recommend starting off with the egg rolls!

Yelp
small parking lot located in the back! or on the streets our front. food here is super fresh and flavorful, without feeling too msg-y. bun bo hue: my first time having this dish but 7.5/10 egg rolls: love the texture & the filling, also decent in size! 9/10 shaken rice with pork & beef: super tasty & lots of good textures 8.5/10 service was super fast & the staff are friendly clean ambiance & diverse crowds. not the biggest establishment, but bigger than expected lol waited around 20 min on a friday night

Yelp
All I can say is wow! This place truly exceeded my expectations. Whether you're stopping by for the first time or looking for a new favorite spot, this is one of those places you just have to try. You won't be disappointed. Can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu!

Yelp
The staff is always nice and the food is plentiful and tasty. It definitely looks very different than it did back in the day, but looks really nice inside. There's street parking and parking in the back. Make sure to add yourself on the waitlist in the front of the restaurant via QR code! A staff member also can add those who aren't tech savvy. I do miss the old school Golden Deli and when prices were cheaper. My family and I are always return customers.

Yelp
Golden Deli is a Vietnamese restaurant in Temple City with parking available in the back. Inside, there are plenty of tables, and I was seated in a booth, which had a call-for-service button. However, the service was attentive, checking in regularly, so I didn't need to use it. I came for Sunday night dinner and was seated quickly. The regular pho, priced at $14.50, was a nicely sized bowl filled with plenty of noodles, beef, and fresh garnishes like bean sprouts, basil, lime, and jalapeño. It was large enough to be shared between two people. The Com Tám three-item combo plate for $16.95 was very delicious. My favorite parts were the baked egg and grilled beef, both flavorful and well-cooked. The dish also came with a generous portion of rice, fish sauce, peanuts, and cucumber, making for a satisfying meal. Everything was delicious and priced affordable. I have no complaints. The service was quick and efficient, and the overall ambiance felt relaxing and private, especially from the comfort of a booth in the back of the restaurant.

Yelp
I love their curry chicken with bread, but I notice their portion is becoming smaller . Their staffs are mostly younger people now. Hopefully they can keep up their food quality and price doesn't go too high. We will be back again next month. Parking can be a problem on week weekends.

Yelp
Came at lunch time today and was seated right away. Service was fast. The food was great and the egg rolls were amazing!

Yelp
This place is pretty good. Has plenty of selection from soup to rice dishes and appetizers. The service was pretty fast too. The parking is in the back but there's barely any spaces. Good thing that you can park in the neighborhood nearby.

Yelp
This place have street parking, is quite busy so make sure you come ahead of time with anticipation on waiting at least 30-45 minutes for a table (sometimes more). i heard a lot of good thing about their original location, but thought to check out their temple city location because I'm already around the area. ordered their broken rice dish, because i wasn't in the pho mood, and also - you can't go wrong with broken rice. their dish was delicious, their eggrolls were good but not amazing where i'd order 5 or 6 for $17, which is an insane price for eggrolls by the way (no matter how amazing they taste). their combo was a better price and you can choose eggroll as one of their side dishes (so you can try it without the heafy cost), I do think overall it was okay as Vietnamese food, but to consider them top tier, probably not. maybe something was lost in transition when building this add on place but i felt like if i were to wait this long, i should be having the most amazing food? but their service is more like self service, very rushed and not really enough time in explaining for first timer. i don't think i would come back per say. but good try. will try their original location and hope for better experience very loud of a place by the way - expect that if you are not a fan of overstimulation since we are all sharing our honest truths. The food wasn't that great, was already cold/lukewarm when it has gotten to our table. We were not able to get the waiters therefore felt like self service because I kept having to go to the counter. The waiters did not really explain the menu right when we had told them we never been there, because they didn't really speak English. I neglect to add all those along with the bathroom not being cleaned as to public health standards which makes me worry for the kitchen. Their standard parking lot is hard to get in and out and barely have any parking. Don't recommend the parking there. Not to mention, they don't really have the spaces to wait and does not really have a managed wait system while waiting as they skipped us while calling names too and we had to go up and asked them. And we waited inside right next to them too. Ventilation wasn't really going off so the place is a bit humid and feeling like an incubation of germs too. I'd say don't listen to me and i wish i was lying but seems like im not the only one leaving low review. But with the owner being so disrespectful just show class of how he handles his business. Is this an owner you want to support when there are so many more option that are better? And looking at the reviews and the responses from the owner just make it even more petty. Like really would I want to support this business? I'm good.

Yelp
Delicious, fast, quick, and efficient service! I was seated right away after a brief wait. The line is very long and packed at night on weekdays and weekends, so I recommend coming earlier to avoid the wait! In my eyes, Golden Deli is the best Vietnamese pho restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley! Service-wise, they are swift with the order! I ordered the Com Tam with Eggroll, Porkchop, and Egg, which came out in less than 5 minutes! My girlfriend ordered the large pho brisket, with big servings of onions and cilantro, along with bean sprouts/condiments/lime. This is a really big shareable portion, and it could easily be 3-4 people! I like the cleanliness of the pho, as the broth is boiled to perfection for hours, with little to MSG flavoring, which was really delicious! Simple and clean flavors, which are refreshing to the body! The Com Tam was packed with cucumbers and shredded rice, and the porkchop was juicy and tender! What I like about the porkchop compared to other Com Tam locations is that the porkchop is not too crispy but not too soft, it is just the right amount of crispiness that intensifies the flavors of the pork! The egg is cooked perfectly, with a soft and tender flakiness to it. The eggroll is crispy and fried to perfection! Absolutely will be coming back! The price is very affordable and convenient to those in the area! Tip: They accept Apple Pay and Cash for anyone wondering!

Yelp
Golden Deli is such a institution for the 626 area. There's a reason why so many people come here and also the original Saint Gabriel location. Whenever I'm feeling under the weather or need something comforting, we always get food from Golden Deli. We love their eggrolls. There's just something about them that taste delicious. And their Pho always on point. I haven't eaten inside since before the pandemic so it was really nice to come in with my family tonight to have dinner. Everything is definitely better when eating there, but they always pack it well to go too. Although I like the original location little bit more... This place is definitely my go to when I'm craving pho!
google avatar

Yelp
I usually get takeout, but I've been here once to dine in. It seems to almost always be busy no matter what time I go, but it doesn't take too long for them to prepare the food. There's a lot of dishes to choose from on the menu, and so far I've enjoyed everything including the pho and vermicelli noodles. I always get an order of the egg rolls. The prices have gotten expensive for the portions, but it's still my go-to spot for Vietnamese food in the area. Parking isn't difficult on the street or in the back.

Yelp
This is a tried and true place for us to come to. They have some of the best fried egg rolls that we have ever had. Always crunchy, flavorful, and very meaty! The beef stew is also another favorite. It is a bit salty, but the beef broth with the very large chunks of beef stew over rice is amazing on a cold day. On hot summer days, I get their grilled pork bun. This is a nice salad and dry noodle bowl and if you don't want to order a full order of the egg rolls, just add it as a side. They have two different types of broths for their pho noodle bowls. Both of them give off the feeling that it's a slow-cooked soup with complex flavors. The portions are generous for both the noodles and the meat. While it may get busy during peak meal times, they serve the food very quickly after you order. The wait staff are always helpful and accommodating. This specific location is a little bit smaller than the one in San Gabriel, but more the decor is more modern.

Yelp
I saw the kitchen workers didn't wear gloves to make egg rolls and veg. It made me sick.

Yelp
I went to the original Golden Deli over 15 years ago and thought it was just okay. I felt like giving this location a try recently. We either found street parking or parking in the lot behind the block. - Bo Kho beef stew ($16). The stew liquid was thin, like a broth, and not too oily. I enjoyed the flavors of tomato with a hint of sweetness, spices, and aromatics. Unfortunately, the broth was too salty for me. The beef and tendon were soft, but I thought the meat could have gone longer. I simmered my leftovers for an additional 30 minutes with more water and unsalted vegetables. At least the baguette was good: soft, fluffy, slightly chewy, with a crispy thin skin. I also enjoyed the tiny bits of something with a nut-like texture in the soup. - Cha trung steamed egg ($3.60). It's rare to find cha trung as a side, so I jumped at the opportunity. It was good, my favorite item of the meal, but not my favorite cha trung. There was kind of a lot of rice noodle in the filling. I had a bite of my bf's Regular Pho ($14). He ordered it with every meat option including tendon and tripe. The broth was okay, noodles were somewhat chewy, and meat was tough.

Yelp
Delicious authentic vietnamese food! I would skip their spring roll, but their egg rolls are on another level! So crispy and filled with delicious meat filling! Their sampler plate was amazing as well with a ton of delicious fresh veggies, I highly recommend their meatballs! Will definitely be back! Service was great too!

Yelp
I don't even know where to begin. Golden Deli has been my families go to place since they only had one location in San Gabriel. They have been coming here since before I was born. Naturally, I learned to love Golden Deli too. This is by far my favorite pho ever. I believe I can be quite picky, especially when it comes to the broth. This one has so much flavor and is something I crave so often. Let's get into a few other dishes: Egg rolls: 10/10 are so crunchy and paired so nicely with fish sauce and lettuce. My family loves them so much for parties we order them frozen and cook them later. Rice dishes: 10/10 We have tried just about every rice dish and they are all delicious. My personal favorite is the pork chop. I have not been able to find another place that makes a better pork chop. Tofu Pho: 10/10 the veggie broth is delicious and they give you a huge amount of tofu!! Spring Rolls: 10/10 Delicious and always the freshest. I have brought countless people to try Golden Deli and they all leave loving it. The service is always great and all the workers are so kind. The food comes out very quick and hot. I definitely recommend eating here vs to go. During Covid, we always came to pick up our order and eat it at home. It's still delicious at home but can't compare to eating it here. The inside is always clean and the workers are always cleaning. They are also very accommodating to bigger parties. I recommend coming during the week because you may have to wait a bit during the weekends ( it is worth it ). I cannot say enough good things about golden deli. It has seen me through all stages of life when I was a baby, toddler, high schooler, college graduate, and now a full adult. I hope this business succeeds forever.

Yelp
Golden Deli is amazing and perhaps the best Vietnamese food in SGV. The Temple City location is more modern than the San Gabriel location, but you can't go wrong going to either. My favorite dishes here are: chả giò (egg rolls): perfectly crunchy and flavorful with just the right amount of filling cà ri gà with bánh mì (curry with baguette): Vietnamese curry tend to be more mild and balanced and also more soup-y than other types of curry. This tastes just like the version my mom made growing up. The service is also quick and friendly.

Yelp
My go-to Vietnamese restaurant in the 626 for pho and egg rolls! The service is quick and food hits home for me :) There's a parking lot in the back but it can fill up pretty quickly since it's shared with the other businesses on the block. Street parking is usually easy to get

Yelp
The restaurant was full on a weekday afternoon around 1pm but I didn't have to wait too long for a table. I ordered the Bun Rieu (tomato noodle soup) and ate that right up. It was delicious and had great flavor. Back in the day, I'm pretty sure there was an option to add snails and/or pork blood but I didn't see it on the menu. The food came out pretty quick as well. Parking is limited, good luck.

Yelp
For years, whenever shes in the area, my wife has been stopping by this place for her Crispy Pork Egg Rolls! I think they're tasty but not enough to stop there every time we are in the area. That is, until we not only stopped by, we decided to sit inside the restaurant. It is a very welcoming atmosphere when you walk in. Nothing fancy, just a modern, clean, open dining area. The staff welcomes you as you enter and in no time you are sitting down as your water is brought to you. She ordered her Crispy Egg Rolls and I ordered the Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls. Now I am Hooked! I told her, whenever she stops here on her way home she doesn't have to call and ask, just feel free to add the shrimp and pork spring rolls to her order. The staff was great! The food was great! I'll definitely be back if I'M in the area.

Yelp
The food are ok to me here. I tried many times. Service are good. I ordered spring roll are ok. Nothing special

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday night since the one at San Gabriel was closed, and the first thing me and my girlfriend got was the eggrolls. That's the number one best thing on the menu and never disappoints. It has the perfect crisp and the filling is delicious. I got the pho ga while my girlfriend got the rice vermicelli with shredded veggies, grilled pork, and pork skin. I think my pho ga was pretty good, but the only thing missing was the ginger sauce on the side with it. My girlfriend thought the rice vermicelli bowl was just ok, was just standard in her opinion. Overall, food here was good despite the price increase compared to a couple years ago (thanks inflation). 100% would recommend the eggrolls. Service here was good as well! There's parking in the back of the restaurant.

Yelp
Holy cow! When did each meal go from under $10 to $15? We got there around noon on Saturday and it wasn't crowded until about 1pm. The decorations and lighting were very nice and modern. We were seated within minutes and they took our order just as fast. The food came out in about 5-10 minutes. I had the bun cha goi and the cha goi was kind of salty. I didn't taste the salt as much when I ate all of the ingredients together. The kids had pho and bun rieu and they were happy with their selection. My daughter had commented that this location has a simplified menu and cost more than the San Gabriel location. Overall, the service was great and my food selection was good.
google avatar

Daniela S.

Yelp
Came on a weekday night and only waited about 5 to 10 minutes to be seated. Our food came fairly quickly as well. :) The egg rolls were to die for! on the contrary, I can't say that I really liked the pho. The broth was delicious. However, the chicken was a little dry for my taste. There's plenty of parking in the back lot as well as on the street. It's a nice spot to bring the whole family.

Yelp
One of my favorite Vietnamese eateries. I'm a frequent visitor of the San Gabriel location but this was my first time visiting the Temple City location. Com Thit Nuong & Cha Gio ($14.75): Broken rice with grilled pork and two egg rolls. Like most Com Tam eateries now, the price differs between how many meat selections (1-3) you want with the order. I generally opt for the grilled pork, egg rolls (one of the best!!!), or baked egg (cha). Topped with crushed peanuts and green onions with a side of fish sauce. Che Ba Mau ($6.50): 3 layers of mung bean, red bean, and jello topped with coconut milk and crushed ice. Such a treat during the hot summer days! I was surprised to see the price so steep since it used to be in the $3's but it makes sense compared to boba drinks. I like enjoying this after my meal as dessert. I called in to place an order and visited on a weekday for lunch so I was able to find parking on the street easily. I'm not sure if there is a private parking lot in the back for customers within that strip plaza but there is definitely a lot of street parking available on Las Tunas Blvd.

Yelp
Golden Deli has been an institution in the SGV for decades now. It was the first place to elevate Vietnamese cuisine around here and because of that there were massive wait times to get in. I remember trying to navigate that parking lot blood bath on weekends. So it was great to hear that they finally opened another outpost and in Temple City, where they have decent parking (nothing spoils an appetite faster than driving aimlessly for a parking space). It's been opened for a while now but I finally got a chance to grab some take out from them and it was nice to see the quality has been carried over from the original San Gabriel location. But strangely my favorite thing was that they instituted a more streamlined menu by just letting you choose one, two, or three items to go with your broken rice or dry vermicelli. I don't know why more places don't do the same instead of trying to list out every combination possible on their menu. Anyway, the egg rolls were excellent as usual but much pricier than I remember. Overall it's great to have a Golden Deli in a more convenient location and with a cooler, hipper atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Mishi V.

Yelp
Usually busy, but that's a good thing. The workers are friendly, helpful, and they clean the tables soon after patrons leave so whoever's next can be seated promptly. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable.

Della H.

Yelp
Delicious and friendly, but a bit on the pricey side. We'd go there more often if they were more affordable.
google avatar

Aileen H.

Yelp
Consistent quality and great service! This is one of my go-to pho places if I'm in Temple City. I got the ribeye beef pho and it was delicious: ie. not too much msg. The interior is simple and clean. I love their Vietnamese coffee. Once, I popped in asking for ice even though I didn't order any food. I had bought raw meat next door but the place next door ran out of ice. The guy at the counter gave me a bag of ice free of charge! So kind! I already liked their food and had eaten there but that generosity made me come back again!

Yelp
Loved the original location so took my parents here since it's closed on Wednesday. After eating here, I'm not sure if it's the same. Vibe was completely different and our waiter didn't even speak Vietnamese. My parents ordered the wonton noodle soup and even at the store said it tasted weird like the meat/filling inside was old. When we got home, they started complaining about their stomach and have been in and out of the restroom 3-4x already with possible food poisoning. I can only wish I can get my money back. Skip this location and go to the OG only

Yelp
Been going here for years, I keep giving them chances since the restaurant is so close to where I live and their pho is decent when you're craving it, but the prices are hiking up slowly and it's irritating lol. Especially when you want to get a drink or appetizer as well. I will say their drink/dessert menu is expansive and I love the unique and hard to find items, but my god they will try to hustle you hard here. I don't usually complain about prices but I think they're slightly overpriced here. Today I ordered a soursop smoothie and it wasn't clear that it's an extra $2 for a smoothie on the menu, and when I tried to clarify with the waiter she said it was the same price($6.50) but I got charged $8.50 on my tab. I would've paid for it anyway since I love this drink but it was the principle that didn't line up that irked me a bit. People tend to rave about the egg rolls and spring rolls but I have to say every time I order either I end up slightly disappointed? Saigon Eden always tastes fresher and they fill up the spring rolls more with vermicelli in my opinion. +service button, really quick and efficient service +endless drink/dessert options +flavorful pho broth without being too fatty -pricey -wait times(depends on when you go, usually it's not too bad) -appetizers seem lackluster IMO

Yelp
Golden Deli- their most famous dish must be their egg rolls. I ordered their egg roll side dish, grilled pork, and shrimp cake with steamed rice vermicelli and vegetables (Banh Hoi), and another 2-item combo bun (dry rice vermicelli noodle bowl) with grilled pork and grilled shrimp. Their egg rolls still taste heavenly and they perfectly matched with the lettuce wrapped and dipped in fish sauce. However, I was disappointed with their grilled pork meat this time because they were dry and chewy. Shrimp cake was not a good option with grilled pork either because both of them were dry. The meat quality was very important to me coz I've had better grilled pork at other Vietnamese restaurants. The grilled pork portion and steamed vermicelli were not in big portions and they did not provide pickled vegetables such as Daikon radish, or carrot on the lettuce but only cucumber. I was disappointed this time. If I only rate their egg rolls, then I will give them 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Yelp
Love this place. This pho has lots of flavor and many meats. Though they are popular, I got to wait around 5-10 mins to get seated and they took our order and we got our food right away. The place is small but they are quick with it.
google avatar

Kevin T.

Yelp
Brought my mom here for Mother's Day with my wife and it's the go to for viet food. You sign in on kiosk in restaurant. Staff are prompt to service you to available tables. We got egg rolls bun bo hue dry vermicelli and broken rice plate with egg rolls to try. It didn't disappoint us. Modern viet decor vibe. Will be coming back for more. Support small business.

Yelp
Good, always a line out of the restaurant, you need to wait at least 1hr during weekends. A lot of beef in the pho, like it. Egg roll is also great, special taste.
google avatar

Yelp
I love the egg rolls here! Today I got one that is burnt. I hate the taste when it's burnt. This place is the best for Vietnamese egg rolls.

Yelp
The pho was amazing i loved it! The brisket beef was a bit too chewy imo but still very good. The Thai tea also very good. The service was great! the food came out fast and they were very nice.

Serena L.

Yelp
I live really close by and have been coming here for as long as I can remember. First it was because I loved the pho. The broth was flavorful and the meat was plentiful and delicious. Then the prices started going up but the quality and quantity went down--this started maybe a few years ago. I stopped going. I then decided to give it a shot around sometime last year or so and the pho was still not good. For some reason, I went back a few months later and noticed that the quality improved (but not quantity), but it was enough for me to keep returning here and there. Fast forward to tonight: I ordered a combo pho with extra ribeye to go. I've gotten this several times before and have noticed the extra ribeye in the container (although still not a lot). But tonight, even though it was marked on the container, there was no extra meat. This has happened to me once before a while ago on another takeout order but I did not say anything since it was the first time. But tonight, I was disappointed and called in to let them know the mistake. I know it's a he said, she said situation, however, the person who answered the phone insisted that I received the extra meat (and even went so far as to insist that I received it the other time too) without even acknowledging that there could possibly be a mistake. He offered me credit for the alleged missing extra meat, but I was too unhappy to take it. After this incident, I probably won't be returning anyway. FYI: even HE stated that the extra ribeye is "not a lot," to imply that I missed it. Also FYI: the ribeye that comes in the combo pho is only like 3 slices without adding any extra. While was only $4 for the extra meat, truly it's their ungracious response that will keep me from returning. EDIT: Changing it from 2 stars to 1 star. To add insult to injury, I just almost swallowed this bundle of string from my pho. Was wondering why I couldn't chew through the meat. Unbelievable. I swear I'm not making this up. Safe to say that I will not be returning now.

Yelp
FOOD: I've come here since I was a kid, and through the multiple remodels and menu changes, the pho is still delicious! - I miss the old menu layout; it no longer says the different pho names, instead you just select the combination of meats you want inside so it makes it feel more Westernized. But, I usually get the Regular ($14) with just ribeye beef. However, I decided to give tripe another shot after not liking it since I was a kid, and I actually have changed my mind about it so I will be getting it next time! I like that the pho is less salty now, but the meat seems to have become tougher. Additionally, the prices have increased over the years, but the portion size has decreased. The Regular and Large ($16) portion size doesn't differ much. - Some other dishes I used to frequent at Golden Deli were Spring Rolls ($7), Rice Plate ($12-$16), and Fried Tofu ($5-$9.75). SERVICE/AMBIANCE: On a Friday noon lunch, there was no line so we were seated at a large table right away. The pho was served quickly, and I enjoyed how hot the soup was. The interior and bathroom are clean, and there is a decent amount of seating available. I've always had pleasant encounters with staff. You can either park in the lot in the back, or there is street parking. OVERALL: Golden Deli has been a staple place for my family and I to get pho for such a long time now. When it's not super busy, it's a great place to grab a quick lunch if you need to get in and out. However, the portion size has shrunk over the years despite their price increase which is disappointing.

Yelp
As usual, food is great. Quality and taste didn't change. Pick up of phone order was ready

Yelp
Pho: excellent. Egg rolls: excellent. Chicken wings: meh (strong asian soy sauce marinade). Water: needs more ice. Service: good. Friendliness: as friendly as an asian restaurant can be. Bathroom: clean. Ambiance: basic asian deli. Parking: space in the back and street parking.

Yelp
Egg roll, egg roll, and egg rolls! They have the best egg rolls in town as far as what I've had so far! They give you an option to order 5 egg rolls and some lettuce on the side OR get 6 egg rolls. So I ordered the one with lettuce but that was my mistake... because their egg rolls were that good At noon on a weekday, they had about 40-50% tables full. And Inside the restaurant, it had the fusion asian and American decorations. But I got my food to go (hehe) Parking wasn't an issue for me since I went there during the non rush hour.

Yelp
Had higher hopes of this place, as I really liked the San Gabriel one. However, the soup of my pho was pretty bland and the ben hoi didn't come with sauce unless we asked for it. the service is okay and there's plenty of space, but i would prefer the longer wait at the other golden deli since the food here isn't worth the time saved

Yelp
What happened to this place? Golden Deli used to literally be the "golden standard" of Vietnamese food. The menu certainly has gone up in price, but unfortunately food quality and portion sizing has not followed it. I ordered a "large bun bo hue" and on the menu it says a large bun bo hue is 14 dollars. When I got my bill it was +2.50 for a large. What in the world? Why is it advertised to be 14 dollars for a large but up charge you another 2.50 for a "large". Doesn't make sense. For a "large", it is considered a normal in most other Vietnamese restaurants. I saw some tables near by and I saw them order a normal bowl of pho, and the bowl is so small, it's like a cereal bowl. So laughable in size. For the actual taste of the bun bo hue, all I can say is that it's BLAND. I've never had such a bland bun bo hue before. Mind you, after tax and tip, this bowl of noodles ended up being OVER 20 dollars and just for it to taste bland and be so small, utterly ridiculous. There is not even pork blood or pork hock in the bun Bo hue. You're also usually given cabbage for bun Bo hue, not just mint leaves and bean sprouts. The soup isn't even correct, I think they just used their pho broth and put in some chili oil. It wasn't even consistent throughout the soup. Service was good as they did refill my water, and the inside is quite modern and new looking. It is a very small shop though. Parking could be difficult as there is a small public lot in the rear, but there's not much movement back there. You're better off parking on the street in front of it. Overall; a terrible feeling paying over 20 dollars for advertised "large" on the menu just to be surcharged for a "large". There's just not enough food for 20 dollars and it was just bland. This place has gone down hill and is no longer really worth going anymore. There are definitely better Vietnamese places in the area. I HIGHLY HIGHLY SUGGEST NOT COMING HERE!

Yelp
I'm a tad confused. Has management changed? The waitstaff that we knew and loved are no longer here. The broth and noodles are different, no longer the tasty Golden Deli pho we once enjoyed.. Pho is $14 + $2.75 add beef balls. Side order of egg rolls which were still pretty good $4.75 Not sure if we will be back to this location. Will probably go to the trusty SG.

Yelp
The best Vietnamese I would say in SG valley. I tried many different Vietnamese pho but still think this is the best one overall in everything. Their Thai tea and coconut jelly green bean drink is really good. My all time favorite is crab meat, shrimp and bbq pork pho, tomato soup w crabmeat, curry chicken and spring rolls. They simplified the menu now so it's a bit easier to order. I like their spring rolls as well but I can either choose egg or spring rolls each time because we wouldn't be able to finish. Service is always great there. I used to do a lot of take outs and they are pretty quick w phone in orders.
