Fantastic First Visit! The General Tso's Chicken is a must-try—crispy outside, tender inside, with a sauce that’s sweet, tangy, and lightly spicy. What truly impressed me was the kind, thoughtful service. After calling ahead about my limited mobility,The lady brought my order straight to my car with a smile. The food arrived hot, fresh, and delicious. Already my new go-to for Chinese takeout—thank you for making my first order so easy and kind!

Update 2: The manager has been very thorough to make this right and I GREATLY appreciate it. They refunded me otp and sent me confirmation/proof of the refund. I’ll give 4 stars for now, but I look forward to leaving a 5-star review on an order in the future. Update: The manager called me and offered a refund and a free scallion chicken meal for next time. I appreciate him for informing me of what happened (new cook which is understandable) and making the effort to make it right. I’ll update to 4 stars once the refund goes through. Thanks! Original review: I’m usually happy with my orders from here but unfortunately this was horrible. I ordered a scallion chicken combo and it is EXTREMELY salty. It tastes NOTHING like the scallion chicken I usually get from here. I have no idea what happened here but it’s literally inedible. The chicken was soft too, but completely ruined by the sauce. Unfortunate money wasted. I gave 2 stars because maybe tonight was just an off night.

Google
Worth the drive for us - the food is fresh and the portion sizes very large. Menu is large so the selection is great. Orders come out fast, making it great for a quick lunch.

Google
Nice family owned Chinese restaurant on battleground in Greensboro North Carolina. My boyfriend who’s from NYC was craving Chinese chicken wings so we went here. He enjoyed the wings and says it taste like the wings he would eat in NYC. We also had the chicken fried rice which was alright. Overall 4/5 Chinese restaurant in Greensboro. That’s saying allot because it’s so hard to find decent Chinese food in Greensboro, NC. ***note he said often in New York they ask if you would like spicy or non spicy. Adding Chinese hot sauce and ketchup to the wings in the bag then shaking them up. Lovely family owned restaurant, we’ll be back!!!

Google
My family has been eating Golden Dragon for over 10 years, it's the best Chinese restaurant in town ! Shrimp lo mein and general tso's chicken were great. Fried chicken wings and Singapore Mei Fen are good👍🏻fresh and tasty. The portion size was phenomenal!

Google
The lady was nice. I had Order the Szechuan beef and it wasn’t cooked like I requested. I had asked for extra spicy and it wasn’t even spicy. The chicken fried rice was cold. I want be back.

Google
I ordered two different combination plates, general tso and scallion chicken, but both tasted the same. No sauce on either only chicken and fried rice. Very disappointing. I wish I had my money back.

Google
My work pals and I had a craving and we satisfied it by coming here. The food was good and they have egg rolls bigger than my mother in laws attitude problem. I will be back.

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp because I've been looking for a good Chinese place in Greensboro our favorite place is long gone and we've never found a replacement. I ordered online for takeout and it was a good experience. The location was easy to find and the place was very clean. The service was good. I arrived early but my food was ready really quick. We ordered the sesame chicken which had good flavor and wasn't overcooked but the chicken wasn't crispy (more soggy) so it was not our favorite. The mushuu pork was good as was the beef lo mein. Thr best was the shrimp fried rice. Lots of shrimp! And the beef with broccoli tasted great! The beef and veggies were cooked well. We'll be going back!
google avatar

Garrison T.

Yelp
I ordered the honey tofu. It was delicious, just a little too sweet. Food here is consistent and reasonably priced. They were busy so the food took a little longer than expected.

Yelp
Family run Chinese food. Made to order. They have chicken wings, large, delicious, perfectly cooked. Lots of combination plates. Some Indoor seating, but mostly take out. General Tso chicken has a good deal of heat to it. Egg rolls are perfectly fried. Nothing tastes reheated, or less than fresh. Our whole family, has a favorite dish.

Orlando B.

Yelp
Closed until July 22nd for family vacation. Looking forward to tasting their food when they return.

Yelp
The best wings I've ever had!!!! I need some right now! Headed that way! Such a unique flavor. Worth the price!

Yelp
I finally tried this place after seeing several of my favorite Yelpers go here and post great reviews. The moment I stepped in and saw how many people were inside - some were dining in and some waiting for their order - I knew I was in a place worth trying. It smelled so yummy inside too...not like a typical Chinese carryout, in my opinion. I ordered the shrimp lo Mein lunch special which came with a hefty portion of chicken fried rice and an egg roll. So let's get these pros and cons going because that's all we're really here for, right?! Pros: - food was steaming hot and fresh - nothing tasted old or stale - egg rolls were not greasy whatsoever which I am grateful for - food was good Cons: - none really. Have I had Chinese food that was better than this? - Yes Was this food delicious? - Yes You be the judge! Go check it out. I plan to return and try the egg foo young.

Yelp
Good Chinese food close to New York style Had wings and fried rice , delicious I will try again for other favorites like eggfoo young

Yelp
I was looking for a takeout Chinese spot so I came to Yelp for answers! This one hit several buttons. Fast, close to home, good reviews! We ordered at the restaurant and the menu was familiar to most Chinese spots. We were called in record time to come inside and pick up our meal. The portion sizes were extra large and we had plenty of leftovers. I ordered beef with broccoli and egg roll. I must say this was the best egg roll I've had locally. It was delicious. We've tried many other spots around greensboro but this one tops my list. We will be back for takeout!
google avatar

Mary L.

Yelp
I mean, I want to give this place a lower review because the takeout system is really poorly organized. Well, NOT organized. But DAMN this food is so good it's worth having to earn it by standing on the same line as people who haven't ordered or paid when you probably ordered AND paid online. So just hunker down and take it, because this food must be earned with your blood sweat and tears, and it's possible all three will occur while you're there. Amazingness includes Chicken Wings, Lo mein, Mei fun, Orange chicken, pork egg rolls and the Egg MotherFooin Yung.... OH MAH GAH!

Yelp
This place is a gem. We love the hot and sour soup. Very efficient and a lot of great choices for Take Out. Long time customer.

Jeremy F.

Yelp
The food was terrible, the chicken teriyaki was way overcooked and the fried rice was undercooked. The only good part was my chicken in my chicken and broccoli because even my broccoli was still crunchy. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Alicia B.

Yelp
This is the BEST Chinese Restaurant in Greensboro... they have the BEST chicken wings haven't found any like these ever. Top notch service and food us always fresh and hot even when I get it home.

Sarah F.

Yelp
I ordered the Wonton soup and had them add some cabbage to the broth as well. The broth was flavorful and the wonton's consistency was very good. The wontons were full and the outside was very soft and delicious. The service was fast and professional. ( I went during lunch rush). The dinning hall is incredibly small and not an encouraging place to actually sit down and eat but it was clean. That would be the reason for the 4 stars. However, I wouldn't expect this type of restaurant to be more than what it offered and that is mainly a take out. But don't let that discourage you, the food is great.
google avatar

Amber S.

Yelp
Yes! Delicious Chinese take out! Tofu king pao was fresh and super good. It's hard to get really good Chinese. Egg rolls were superb! We will definitely come back! Service was simple and efficient, owner was friendly. Eat here! Take out or basic tables only.
google avatar

Jillian F.

Yelp
Fast service and so far best-fried rice I have had in the triangle! Looking forward to try more.

Yelp
I've picked up take out here several times but have never dined in the restaurant. Not much atmosphere and eerily quiet except for their phone ringing off the hook. They stay very busy with takeout orders. I usually get their pork or shrimp egg foo young. The lunch specials are a little over $8 and include an eggroll and enough fried rice to feed a small country. They really pack the rice in the to-go box! The gravy that comes with the foo young is delicious, savory and full of flavor, love that stuff. Eggrolls are always crispy and never greasy. Their wings are great too but I always go for my favorite. When I find something I love, I tend to order it on repeat. Solid Chinese food here!
google avatar

Gary F.

Yelp
I've gone from hot to cold on the restaurant. It was our go-to for fast food Chinese but the last few visits have not been good. Tonight we ordered hot and sour soup, spicy, a pork egg roll and a spring roll, and moo shu pork. The soup was bland with no discernible spice. The egg roll lacked any taste of pork and the moo shu pork had a very pungent off putting smell...so much so that we threw it away. Also, the wrappers for the moo shu pork appeared to be wonton wrappers and were difficult to use and frankly just odd. I have found the food quality to be sub par and hate that I'm having to scratch it off my list.
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
I will say you honestly get your monies worth here! I swear the to-go box weighed like 10 lbs! We got the General Tso's chicken with fried rice and it was delicious We didn't order an Egg Roll but got one so I'm not sure if that comes with the meals or if it was just our lucky day but it was delicious as well! The portion was big enough for my husband and myself to eat dinner off it and have leftovers for one of us the next day.
google avatar

Bonnie W.

Yelp
The best Tofu and veggies! Egg rolls are better than any take out in Greensboro. I've been a customer for decades and they can't be beat.

Cheryl D.

Yelp
We ate at this restaurant today! My intent was to write a horrible review as to my experience and encounter with the Hostess ! After asking for the manager, I was given his go to gal who I expressed my complaint to, and advised her the large party next to me encountered the same if not worse behavior from this hostess ! Which she did not go talk to them! But she did tell me the hostess had been the hostess for 8 years! After given our ticket our Waitress said she would take my ticket or the counter! I'm guessing so I would not have to deal with the Hostess , I declined, after seeing the waitress go to the back, then the go to lady went to the counter to which I'm assume telling the hostess I would be coming up to pay! which I did and got the same nasty person who seated us! I feel this is a childish and toxic environment! food wasn't bad but I will not return!

Yelp
This is the best place in Greensboro for Chinese. Been going there for decades. House lo mein, wings,Sesame chicken, egg rolls are all better than others in the vicinity. Prices are great for amount you receive. Yes, they know my voice when I call

Jayson M.

Yelp
The food is ok just ok. Typical Americanized Chinese good nothing special . The food is ok just ok. Typical Americanized Chinese good nothing special .

Yelp
I ordered takeout here online, and my order was ready faster than expected! Inside is small, but you can tell just by walking in that they know what they're doing. I ordered the shrimp and broccoli combo with a side of fried rice, and you really can't beat the price for the amount of food they give you. Everything tasted great, and it even came with an extra egg roll that was delicious. This will probably be my new go-to for Chinese takeout. The staff was kind and efficient, and once again, you just can't beat it for the price.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Chinese take out that I've had in Greensboro. Generous portions and reasonable price. The lo mein was packed in the container, styrofoam box overflowing. The lo mein was not greasy and veggies still had some crunch. Sesame chicken was flavorful, everything was hot and fresh. Wasn't crazy about the chicken fried rice, a little bland for me but the kids loved it. Chinese doughnuts were larger than the ones previously had. They were hot and fluffy, a tad greasy but delicious and plenty to share.

Stephen K.

Yelp
One of the best Chinese take out restaurants in Greensboro NC. The WINGS ARE the BEST around just take them home and add some Texas Pete Hot Sauce. Have been using Golden Dragon for many years.

Breyona W.

Yelp
I came to their location on battleground and so happy I finally stopped by....the shrimp egg rolls are so good

Carole M.

Yelp
Love Golden Dragon!!! Best egg rolls ever, large portions, delicious General Tso's chicken. Yum.

Yelp
I've only been to this place once before tonight (last time I just got crab rangoons because you can never go wrong with that) and it was delicious, fast and super affordable! My friend and I's food was ready within 10-15 mins of placing my online order! I got the sesame chicken combination this time and crab rangoons again! With the combination, you can choose between fried rice or noodles and an egg roll is included as well! The crab rangoons came with 6, which is much more than other restaurants give you for the same price! The portions are HUGE and I have enough leftover for another meal for sure! Next time we go, we plan on sharing one combination dinner! This restaurant is currently closed for dine in due to covid. The employees all have masks on and social distancing is required when picking up your food! They do delivery as well :)

Yelp
ok, lets do this by the numbers 1: food, the sesame chicken was dry. there was a "clump" of sauce just plopped down under everything. the broccoli was pretty much raw, not simply firm, but not cooked. the moo goo gia pan had less flavor than usually found from other places. the slices of chicken were twice the size but def fewer in number. the egg roll had a very unnatural pink substance in it and had a very odd taste (one bite was more than enough). the rice was good however. 2: the only service offered was for them to take your order through a "tunnel" and for you to get your order from a different "tunnel" when it was ready. the eating utensil was a fork that was barely able to hold itself. i was afraid to eat with it, ready for it to break at any moment (i have never encountered a cheaper made fork). no knife of any sort. tiny cocktail napkins at the condiment table (nothing was on any of the "dinning" tables). 3: .... ah, ambiance. from the moment i walked in, it was not the impression i was hoping for. it gave me a seedy "cash your payday check here" sorta vibe. the degree that the customers were separated from staff def made me feel like i made a bad decision to try this place. it was everything i would had expected if we were in a high crime area, not on this part of battleground ave. staff was pleasant enough, but sadly that was the best part of this adventure. i really wish i could say i'ld be back to give it another go.... but thats not going to happen. this was my 2nd attempt and it was actually worse this time.
google avatar

Jim K.

Yelp
I had not had takeout from Golden Dragon since they were in the little Green building on Battleground Ave....a long, long time. That was a mistake as Golden Dragon serves up really good Chinese. We had Szechuan Chicken with lots of chicken. It was not overly spicy so next time I'll know to request it spicier. We also ordered Chicken Lo Mein which was very good as well. Their Hot n Sour soup was very good but much thicker than I've seen before. Golden Dragon is a great option for Chinese takeout. I only wish they delivered. Oh well, I'll just have to put a little effort into dinner for a change.
google avatar

Kristen D.

Yelp
We got take out from here while I was in town visiting my parents for the holidays. The portions are massive. The broccoli was perfectly cooked in my chicken dish. The egg roll was crunchy and flavorful. Get takeout from here anytime!
google avatar

Jay B.

Yelp
Pretty good, dont confuse this with golden china because i did and felt dumb for it. Not comparable tbh. Only had the sesame but i will be trying the shrimp soon

Phreek C.

Yelp
They don't give you your money's worth for the price! The portion sizes are too small! I ate what I bought in one sitting. Other places give you enough food where you have leftovers tge next day. Not here! Also, the Hot & Sour soup wasn't very good, and the Beef with Broccoli was just ok. I won't be going back.

Pk D.

Yelp
Nothing that stands out Atypical fast Asian Never terrible but never great Entrées are usually fresh Appetizers and soups are hit or miss, at best You can only deep fry some many things

Yelp
I've been eating at china's best on lawndale for about 15 years and tried this place because chinas best was closed. I'll never go back to chinas best again. Golden dragon has the BEST Takeout Chinese food in town. The food isn't greasy and the oil was fresh and not burnt tasting like most other Chinese takeout establishments. I got the crab Rangoon, chicken wings and shrimp egg rolls. They weren't dripping in grease oil and you could taste all the ingredients. Highly recommended.

Ebony C.

Yelp
The food was amazing! I've had a hard time finding good Chinese food in the area since I've recently moved. My boyfriend and I have found our go to spot!

Kate P.

Yelp
Wooohooo! We FINALLY FINALLY found good chinese take-out in Greensboro! Such a big menu with tons of options and online ordering! Ordered a ton of food and everything was great.
google avatar

Anthony J.

Yelp
I'm impressed... First, the food was hot and flavorful. The service was kind and friendly. The facility.. although nothing special, was clean and bright (Note: always go to the restroom, if there are no paper towels or soap, then you have to wonder what the employees do or not do??) I digressed.... sorry. Their last posted health score was a 98 (A) and I can see why, at least from a customer's POV. I can endorse this location.. two thumbs up. If visiting Greensboro, stop by for a visit. If you live here, then you already know... Thanks for reading

Yelp
While I was driving down Battleground a lil after 10 PM, I was getting hungry. I wanted something besides fast food, and being what time it was, it left my options real slim. Luckily from the magic of Yelp, I was able to find this place stayed open a lil later and I didn't have to settle for cook-out this late night. I've been here a few times and this is my first review for this place. This place is very good for your quick Chinese food spot. I've had there general tso's chicken for lunch a couple times. Very tasty! The sauce it's in is awesome. The egg rolls are good too. This night I decided the get just the chicken wings with fried rice combination. The wings were good. Good flavor. This is one of the best quick Chinese places in Greensboro. The portions are huge, even for lunch. I will be back and definitely recommend you eat here.

Yelp
I can't help but feel that this excellent, longstanding Greensboro restaurant, which has been serving splendid Americanized Chinese food for well over 30 years, just does not get the credit it should. Lately, it seems that so many are rushing around trying to find what is new, what is exciting, what is chic, that they ignore the established excellence that is right in front of them - and the new, the exciting, the chic are, more often than not, over-rated, over-hyped, and overpriced. I guess Ethnosh, and its ilk, fancy only the "new", trendy ethnic restaurants - everything else is "so ethnically yesterday". The food here is solid through out the vast majority of the menu, with our very favorites being the Chicken Wings, Shrimp Egg Rolls, Shrimp or Roast Pork Fried Rice, Shrimp Egg Foo Young, Shrimp Lo Mein, Pepper Steak, Beef Chopped Suey, and Dragon & Phoenix. The folks here, especially the young lady who usually handles the front counter, are friendly and efficient. They have a great online ordering system, and you can specify when you wish to pickup your order. They nail the order every time.

Jenna C.

Yelp
Fast and friendly. They have adjusted to the new covid environment and has done a great job. Good food every time.

Yelp
A mainstay of Gso for many years, a great day for the wonton soup, some wings and crab Rangoon. Pleasant cashier, polite and efficient. Lovely conversation on plants too. Close to work we will be back!
google avatar

Tricia T.

Yelp
I think this will be the only Chinese restaurant I go to that's near my home. The service was amazing. I had my mom with me and she's picky about seafood soup. The man behind the counter knew exactly what type of seafood soup she wanted and he said that's not what they sell but he would make it for her and show her at the end, and if she didn't like it then he would refund us! I've never had someone go above and beyond like that at a Chinese restaurant. We ordered $50 worth of food, and it probably took around 15-20 minutes. The shrimp lo mein was on the bland side but I was ok with that, the crab rangoons were a little skimp on the filling, and the rest was good (general tso's combination, seafood soup, fried rice), not the best and definitely not the worst, but somewhere I would eat again for sure...especially if I can get service like that again.

Joaquin Kif R.

Yelp
All you can eat restaurants are not my preference, but I had to come here because my cousin and his family, along with their entire wresting team, were visiting from Colorado and chose this restaurant. Despite the fact that I don't like mass-food, I doff my hat to the hardworking crew and management of this establishment.
google avatar

Charles H.

Yelp
Best Chinese takeout in town. I've been going to the Golden Dragon since I was a kid.

alex s.

Yelp
This has been my "go to" Chinese take away since the 1990's. I am guessing they have changed hands as I no longer see the regular employee. The quality has gone way down, prices have gone up, and the recipes have changed (with the exception of the chicken wings.) I normally order online to avoid a wait (especially with COVID.) The last three times I have had to wait at least 30 minutes beyond the time I was told my order would be ready. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!

Jody A.

Yelp
A solid takeout option. Easy web ordering and friendly folks in the restaurant. The food I have had has been tarty and consistent.
google avatar

Paul W.

Yelp
Very good but not great Chinese food. They have all of the standard items. Good for takeout.

Yelp
We normally eat at chinas best but since they were closed we thought we would give golden dragon a try. We ordered 2 apps the pan fried dumplings and the boneless spare ribs since we've never eaten here and wanted to see how they measured up. The pan fried dumplings were phenomenal loved the dipping sauce and how the dumplings came out, but unfortunately things went down hill after that, the boneless spare ribs weren't ribs at all but little slivers of beef like you would find in lo-Mein. There was no barbecue taste to them at all they tasted as if they took lil beef slices and just threw some sauce on them and microwaved them. We got a sesame chicken combination and a scallion chicken combination both with chicken fried rice and egg rolls. The sesame chicken was ok in taste but what really brought down the dish was that they severely over cooked the chicken it was hard lil rocks covered in there version of sesame chicken sauce. The chicken fried rice and egg rolls were both oily and had little to no taste. The egg-rolls were seriously over cooked and tasted like cardboard even duck sauce couldn't help them out. The scallion chicken had a really outstanding flavor but again the chicken was over cooked to rocks with the same greasy rice and egg-rolls. If I decided to give it another shot it would be to try some apps we didn't have this time but I don't think we'd ever get entrees/combinations again and definitely not the spare ribs they should be ashamed for even calling them that!
