Golden Dragon — West Philly’s Newest Takeout Restaurant — is All About Community - Eater Philly

"Golden Dragon in West Philly is more than a traditional Chinese takeout spot. It is a Black and Asian-operated food project started by Chellie Faroul, Jeremiah Jordan, and Heidi Ratanavanich with the mission to bring affordable and thoughtfully sourced dishes conceived from passed-down family recipes to the community of West Philadelphia. The menu features items like kimchi, egg, and cheese sandwiches; cucumber salads; and fish cakes doused in curry. Golden Dragon is also a gathering place and a hub for the community, supporting local projects such as the Free Brunch Program and West Philly Bunny Hop, and it collaborates with other local food projects like Chili Crisps for Spicy Lips. The restaurant is located at 5260 Rodman Street and is open Thursdays to Saturdays from 9 – 2 pm for breakfast and 4 – 8 pm for dinner, and Sundays all day." - Art Phung

Yum! Sometimes the food tastes too good... As in it is very similar to other corner take out places but made with a quality and level of care of a different kind of restaurant. Now I LOVE me some late night take out greasy over sweet and messy food. GD is almost that but not that. i am looking forward to trying more items on their menu and discovering their versions of neighborhood take out.

So dang good! Friendly people, the sandwiches were really great. Hand cut fries were stellar and the wings were huge and perfect, can't wait to go back.

Had the pork dumplings,curry W 🐔, pork fried rice and orange chicken wings and everything was amazing. Good quality,tasty affordable food...not to mention tue cheap coffee!
