A relatively unassuming spot on the corner of Chicago and Franklin, Golden Fingers has become my neighborhood go to. They offer African, Mediterranean, Indian, and fried American foods that are all cooked to order. After trying a few things, the chicken suqqar has become my absolute go to.
Perfectly seasoned chicken, yellow rice, grilled peppers, grilled onions, then a small salad on side with lime wedges. I get mine spicy, so they include house made green hot sauce (won't kill you and has quite a bit of flavor). I prefer to mix all of mine together, as the tomatoes and cucumbers from the salad actually compliment the dish quite well. Like most African spots, the meal is served with a banana as well. It's a steal for around $7 at lunch and $10 at dinner.
Service is awesome, but depending on how busy it is, it may take a little time. I'd DEFINITELY recommend calling in before hand. Food is all made fresh to order and there's no shortage of hand sanitizer for anyone who needs it. Staff follows all COVID protocols and once they get to know your face, become quite inviting. You are able to dine in now with proper distancing, but it is still counter service.
Does Golden Fingers offer five star ambiance? No. It's a corner, neighborhood spot. However, it does give you five star quality food for the price you pay and five star service!
