Wonton soup didn’t taste good at all. Broth had no flavor and dough was thick, not sure if it’s done.

Food is so good amazing prices very very very fresh the chicken fried to perfection the rice nice and soft my favorite place to eat

This is the worst Chinese I’ve ever had in my life. My husband’s sesame chicken also tasted like the past 10 orders they’ve had (evidently a dirty cooking surface). My sweet and sour chicken was so dried out that it was literally inedible (see pictures). The rice was pretty disgusting, also tasted like whatever they cooked it on was dirty. Put it back in the bag and brought it back, I still have the horrible taste in my mouth. Inside the place you would think they’re selling flies. It’s so horrendous that we’re calling the health inspector, because we kinda care about the safety of the people around here. No idea how they’ve managed to stay in business? Avoid this place.

The a Ku Young was amazing just enough shrimp the gravy could’ve been a little thicker The lo mein was great just enough vegetables chicken wings were good as well

Changing this review. This is the first time I've been there in 7 years. The food is trash. The rice smells and tastes like some sort of chemical. I had to throw it away. I don't know where they store the rice or how they prep it but it's sickening. I should go back for a refund. The food smelled rotten. Still mad I even tasted it.

Food look old not fresh plus the guy who was taking orders was rude is he'll never eating at this place 🤮 I'm calling the health department on this place ASAP

Food is decent. My first time eating here but that's not the issue. The issue is the delivery guy. Placed and order Friday afternoon and the delivery guy tried to take the money without giving my change back. He then said it's for a tip. He was rude and facetious. It's up to the customer to give tips not the people providing the service. He really got it twisted. Other than that This would have been 5 stars but that jerk ruined it for this business. Hire people with better customer service skills cause I bet if my skin was a few shades pale this wouldn't happen.

While I currently live in Alaska, my boyfriend lives in Elizabeth, NJ. We try our best to have a normal relationship, and we plan date nights just like any couple does. But because I live so far away, we get on Skype and watch Netflix movies together on our separate tv's and eat dinner at the same time. I discovered that I could order him food on Grubhub during the middle of 2017. Because his favorite food is Chinese, we both looked through the options and found Golden Garden. He told me what he wanted, and I bought it from the comfort of my own home in my own state. His first comment was that the onion rings are AMAZING. He LOVES the chicken with broccoli combination platter and the wontons. Every combination platter he has tried from Golden Garden has been amazing. The food is GREAT. He recommends it 100% HOWEVER! The only reason this restaurant has received the rating as such, is because they are ALWAYS LATE WITH DELIVERY. Grubhub does it's best to estimate the amount of time it takes to create the order and deliver it, but the actual time it arrives is absolutely insane. If Grubhub says to expect the delivery at 3:00pm, plan on receiving the food at 3:45pm or closest 4pm. I have ordered from Golden Garden over a dozen times, and the delivery has ALWAYS been late. And while I will remain a customer for the rest of my life because I love my boyfriend, you may not want to order from here if you like receiving your food on time.

I was at a hotel near the Newark airport. I searched for a chinese delivery place for Shrimp egg fu yung and won ton soup. This place delivered to my hotel late at night and to my room. The egg fu yung was excellent. The won ton soup was good, but the wrapper is the typical thick kind served on the eastcoast that I do not like as much as the thin wrapper.

Had my food delivered within 45 min. Food was so so.. Not expecting much in this area. - chicken soup was light but edible. Although it was so plain.. I wish they put some vegetables in there. - Mongolian beef was really really salty. I had it before and it was not that salty. - hot and sour soup was so so. Not much flavor. I prefer to have some meats in there.

Won't be back here ever!!! Got a house special fried rice and it's was more like "Not so special greasy fried rice!!" Not like before, I think they must have change cooks and or owner!!

Ok, so first off all the complaints about them being cheap with condiments and utensils is true. If you ask for any of the above they give you one of each. Or they will ask if you are not going home *head slap. Why so stingy? Food is just thrown together. Its take out! I have ordered from here a few times and the rice is always old. Tastes old, hard. Chicken Lo mein is ok but small amount of chicken. Tried the Shrimp in Lobster sauce, they do not clean the shrimp. Your best bet for fresh taste is to order fried (frozen) foods. If you order soup ex. Wonton do not expect garnish of chives and meat slices in bottom of bowl...presentation is just not a concern. Overall, if you dont mind 2 day old rice and unclean shrimp or you just want fries and fried chicken you will be pleased.

Food is generously sized, and tastes like typical Chinese takeout. The brown sauce is the same in almost all of their dishes. This is good enough when you're craving Chinese food.

I will never order food with them again ! I ordered a lot of thing and one o these items I never got. Bad quality in food and worse service I ever had, the delivery driver didn't deliver the food at my door, I had to reach him across the street instead. What bad experience !

This Chinese spot food is very Goode and my family have eaten there about 5 times so far we love it everything that we have ordered has been on point no mess ups at all I pray they continue to please all there customers like myself ?

If I could give less than one star I would. Food was supposed to be delivered over an hour ago, still has not arrived. Was hung up on by the restaurant twice and had to call five times. Finally got the delivery drivers number and he apologized and said he was ten minutes away.........the restaurant is 10 minutes away.......this was 30 minutes after I was told by the restaurant he had already left...... do the math. Driver also told me there was traffic.....at 2 in the afternoon. Clearly they live in an alternate universe. Restaurant staff yelled at me for calling about food. Do not order and ESPECIALLY do not get delivery. Still waiting and driver is now declining our call... wonderful. Love wasting my money.

This is now my go to place for Chinese take out near me. Everything tastes fresh and when delivered, it's delivered hot. I have order chicken w/ broccoli, chicken w/ broccoli, chicken wings, fried green plantains, shrimp roll, house special fried rice, pork fried rice, and shrimp fried rice. NOT ONE COMPLAIN, EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS.

The food is good. The delivery driver is even better! I ordered delivery at raining night and they arrived so quick!

I just ordered Chinese food from this restaurant and they cancel the order saying that I was outside of the their delivery area when they delivered to my home once before and then cancel the order you very leery of this restaurant

I've been ordering from this restaurant a lot. Tonight the driver demanded a tip. Then proceeded to call me nasty bigoted language then cursed at me and drove off. I immediately called the Restaurant. They didn't seem.to concerned. .

I know this place had bad reviews but I honestly like their food. I needed to order food on the 4th of July because I was sick prior and didn't get a chance to cook anything. But let me tell you there ribs are delicious and there rice is light not greasy and fresh. I don't know why they had bad reviews. You can order online and put the tip in. Will definitely be my new Chinese spot..Give them a try and if you don't like them don't order again, but I'm sure you will. And they even have brown rice

This place is the worst as far as customer service. .we literally ate with our hands. No utensils.1 soy sauce with a large fried rice and. 2 shrimp rolls...really?if the food is good I couldn't enjoy it. All my rice was all over me ...if you wanna eat with your hands then this is your place.

Let me start by saying I order from here pretty often. What really disappointment me today was the driver, he demanded a tip on a half an hour late delivery. Anytime I order from here I tip generously because it's on time. I know what it's like to deliver food so I understand it sucks to not be tipped. But that was very very rude and extremely on professional and I will definitely keep that in mind next time he delivers my food. The person who picks up the phone normally sounds like he's super rushing which kind of causes a bit of an attitude on their part. My boyfriend absolutely loves the food from this place, as do I. The vegetarian section is amazing, so many things to choose from which is uncommon especially in this area. My problem with this place is the timing for delivery. They take extremely long!! Sometimes it makes me question whether it's worth it or not. Long story short, if I can offer a piece of advice, never ever order if you're really hungry, will take forever and you will hate them haha but over all the food is better than most Chinese places I've been to around here.

Took almost 2 hours for three plates of food came 35 min after the original time said not happy

The food is good but the delivery guy rude . He demanded a tip which i had to wait more then an hour. I alway tip when i get good service but today disappointed .

Out of town from AZ visiting my son kids went to one of his fav spots it was amazing. We loved it! Fresh yummy food best I've had in a long time reminded me of our fav spot in Philly. Great Job just delicious.

After reading the reviews I thought id try it out as my regular Chinese food place didn't answer their phones. Needless to say I was very disappointed. I ordered shrimp and broccoli, a shrimp roll and chicken wings fried extra crispy. The shrimp roll was the best part of the meal. The shrimp and broccoli had a funny taste as well as he wings. And they were not fried extra crispy. One of the wings tasted undercooked. I won't eat here again.

Their noodle dishes seem pretty good, chicken and beef entries are whats to be expected. Beef seem little old last time I ate a dish there, it just did not taste right. That's my opinion although for the most part its only my second time eating there.

We ordered our meal at 18.03pm it's now 21.15. Half our meal was delivered at 19.15 but still waiting on the rest. Called restaurant 10 times to be told it's on it way. The delivery driver also demanded a tip. Which I don't mind but unable to eat meal as rice sauce & juice all missing. Paid over $42 for good part of order missing. If ur staying in one of the airport hotels. My advise is don't use this place. Take ur money & only deliver half the food. Very poor customer service. Will be advising the hotel to stop dishing out there menus. VERY POOR & TOTAL RIP OFF TOTALLY DISGUSTED

I just order from this store. I received my food COLD AND NASTY . My fries was un cook . They are very cheap with there condiment . I left a detail how i wanted my food but they disregard my request . never again

11/14/2013 Edit " After being told by several of my friends about how good Golden Garden was, I finally decided to give them a shot. I was not expecting too much considering that when I finally found the place, it was quite literally a hole in the wall. Really, it's less than ten feet wide. I figured with all the Chinese places in the area, how different could they be? Right? Wrong!! Golden Garden is without a doubt the best Chinese resturant since the New York Tea Garden in Morristown. Everything I ordered was delicious. Not salty, no sugar added, and no msg. The fried rice was the best I have had in years. It wasn't that nasty yellow rice served in most places around here. The fried wontons were done perfectly. The chicken lo mein, mongolian beef, chicken and broccoli, and general tso's chicken were outstanding. The staff is very polite and friendly, and appears to be a very young group. Golden Garden is my new go to place for Chinese take out. I live in the Bayway area of Elizabeth. I pass at least a dozen Chinese places to get to Golden Garden. In my opinion, Golden Garden is definately worth the trip. JB Remington.
