"Fans of Dorothy, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia needn’t wait another moment for a nostalgic slice of cheesecake: The Golden Girls Kitchen opens on July 30 (National Golden Girls Day) at 369 N. Bedford Drive in Beverly Hills. Purchasing a $49 reservation ticket guarantees a 90-minute reservation at the fast-casual homage to the classic television show, as well as one main course and a slice of cheesecake (a collab with East Side Cheesecakes)." - Karen Palmer

Went recently for my moms birthday, definitely a unique experience but could have been great with a few improvements! A few suggestions would be a slightly larger menu, drinks from the bar tasted a bit funny "hurricane" but the biggest dropped ball in my opinion was the wait staff should have been dressed like "Golden Girls" or at least grey wigs or something. Our server was really nice and the food was pretty good for what it was. Overall a good experience but could have been great with a few minor changes!

This is a really fun little pop up. The Cuban sandwich was all kinds of spicy pulled pork and yumminess. Chocolate cheese cake was the bomb.

Went on opening night, and was disappointed that the lasagna we pre-ordered was sold out. I assume people changed their mind that were there earlier and the restaurant accommodated the changes. Otherwise, why sell out if you know how many to order? Was only offered an upgraded dessert at no extra charge for this (and did not use it). Sandwiches and fries were about the same quality you’d get at a cheap diner. Decor was cute, and there were a couple of photo ops. Oh, and we got there on time for our reservation and they were still seating people from over 1 hour before! We had to wait about 45 min-1hr and had to take dessert to go so that we wouldn’t get locked in the parking garage. Overall, not worth the money.

Google
This was fun to do and exactly as advertised. Service was great and the food was alright. I had hoped for some additional menu items when we got there, dinner the offerings were all meat or vegan. But, menus online are exactly what is available. There's no middle ground items. Taking pictures in Blanche's bedroom was fun and all the other guests were in the spirit of the place. So, that made it worth it. I would say to go in the off peak hours and save a little money since the food and the setting won't be any different.

Google
I had so much fun! The performers we're amazing! Such a fun act! The food was better than I thought it was going to be. It wasn't fine dinning, but it certainly wasn't bad. The experience is the best part. Couldn't have had a better time with my family!

Google
This was a huge waste. Maybe I was expecting too much, not sure. I got an email stating to be 10 min early and that staying past your 90 min reservation was not allowed. Well...The place was dead, you're quickly fed the most disgusting store bought lasagna that was so gross, then they scoop it away to serve you Sam's Club's finest dry cheese cake. There's no experience. There's a poorly set up rendition of Blanche's bedroom and an inaccurate vision of the kitchen. Overprices souvenirs. That's it. $40 per person for ultimately nothing. Biggest waste of my time and money. Would definitely not recommend.

Google
Very cute, but experience would have been so much better if the food actually tasted good! Soup and salad was probably only enough food for Sophia, and the soup was atrocious... Cheesecake was straight out of a box from Costco. Cocktails are good, but the Gurnergenflurgen Cake was just dry chocolate cake from the grocery store. Lasagna was 6/10. Wait staff seemed stressed and were inattentive.

Google
The setup was super cute and nostalgic- everything you'd want in a Golden Girl experience. The waiting staff was a little pushy and we felt the pressure of the time constraints. They actually tried to take the salad from my hands while I was eating it (they brought all the food so quickly, appetizers and entrees all at the same time, so I had to hold the plate of salad because there was literally no room on the table for it). Other than that, it was a nice experience. The non-vegan Lasagna was great. So was the cheesecake.

Yelp
I have been a fan of the Golden Girls TV show since I was in junior high (when it wasn't cool to like them, lol). So when I found out months before that there was going to be a pop up, I was excited and purchased tickets for my husband and I to attend (my husband doesn't mind watching The Golden Girls but he isn't a big fan like myself). I purchased tickets for a week day during the off peak time to avoid crowds and also for a cheaper price. I paid $78 for 2 people ($89.75 after tax) ahead of time and had to pick our entree choices months before. I received an email the day before reminding me of my reservation for last Wednesday and with information regarding free parking, at 461 N Bedford Dr, for up to 2 hours. The walk to the pop up is only a few blocks away. If you park at 415 N Bedford Dr, which is closer, then you will have to pay. Anyways, my husband and I arrived last Wednesday, right at 3 pm for our reservation (3- 4:30 pm) and were asked if we wanted to be seated inside or outside. Please note that the outside is covered and sealed so you aren't entirely outside. I opted to go inside for the air condition. Please note that total, including ourselves, there was only 6 small groups dining during our visit. We were seated at a small two person table and were told to wait until our server confirms our menu order before walking around to take photos. Our server was friendly (all the employees we interacted with were friendly) and she confirmed what we ordered and then we walked around to take photos on the first floor (please note that there are 2 restrooms upstairs but there is one unisex restroom downstairs). It was only 20 minutes after we confirmed what we ordered, that our meals were brought out, which was: Sophia's Lasagna with Meat- This lasagna came with a piece of garlic bread. I thought the lasagna itself was okay, although I have had better. I did find a small piece of hair in my first bite but I removed it and didn't find anymore. The Lanai "Miami Style" Cuban Sandwich- This came with a small side salad that was already dressed and a side of thick cut fries. The sandwich itself was interesting in which it had shredded pulled pork and slices of honey ham. I have never had a Cuban sandwich with ham but learned that is what "Miami style" is. The pulled pork had some pepper flakes in it and so I found it to be a little spicy so I had to give this to my husband since I don't like to eat spicy foods. My husband (who does eat spicy foods regularly) thought it was fine. I liked the fries and thought the salad was good but had a just a little too much dressing and would have liked a little less. Strawberry Cheesecake- The best item of our meal, we both opted for strawberry cheesecake. ------------------------- (Total= $89.75 after tax, pre paid) We did not order additional items so we didn't owe anything. But did leave tip on our table. I don't know what other Yelp members were expecting and can see why they would have such a low rating. I never really expecting anything when coming to pop ups (although the Breaking Bad pop up we went to years ago was a bit better than this) and so I enjoyed my time and so did my husband. We thought the food was okay. We enjoyed taking photos in Blanche's bedroom, in the infamous kitchen and also at the bar with the Shady Pines in the background. We also took a few photos in front of the Thank you for being a friend sign but really think there should be better lighting as your photos will come out dark. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and am happy with our visit overall. We spent about an hour here and did not feel rushed during our time. Please note that there is a very small gift shop by the entrance. They do sell some cute items but prices are not marked and you may miss their tiny gift shop if you don't look for it (I only realized it was a gift shop after another group had tried to ask an employee how much was a particular T- shirt).

Yelp
Wow, the reviews here are way too harsh. I'm a big time Golden Girls fan and have watched every single episode many times (my fave is the murder mystery one). I was super excited to check out this pop-up and I'm very glad that I did. I don't know what kinds of expectations these fellow reviewers have, maybe they thought they would actually step back in time into the actual Golden Girls set, but c'mon, overall if you just go to this pop-up with a Rose Nylund attitude, you will in fact have a great time. There are lots of photo opportunities and two recreated parts of the TV show set - the kitchen and Blanche's iconic boudoir. Do not expect these to be EXACT REPLICAS. They are approximations and of course there is only so much space, so I think they did a great job at offering a simulation that provides some cute photo opportunities. There is the Shady Pines bar and also an outdoor seating area that serves as the "lanai". The location of the pop-up is Beverly Hills and be prepared to look for some parking. We lucked out with a meter spot and they stop metering at 9pm, so we were happy with that. All of the staff was very friendly, efficient, and attentive. The only thing was that the food came out before our drinks. I think they were just trying to keep things moving as ticketholders have timed reservation slots. We got the lasagna and also ordered some French fries. Both hubby and I thought the lasagna was pretty tasty. It was a nice portion, it was hot, and the flavors were good. French fries were standard fare. We also tried the tequila-based drink, the Lanai Cooler. I could have used a bit more sweetness, but hubby liked his and they were potent. The chocolate cheesecake we had was also tasty. The restaurant had a loop of episode clips from the show and at one point they did play the theme song. Otherwise it was all eighties songs, and we enjoyed the music. All in all we had a great time at the Golden Girls Kitchen. Kudos also to the staff that helped me change my tickets as the original date that I had did not work at the last minute due to an emergency, and they really helped us out by changing the date. I think the experience you have is what you make of it. If you think these experiences, restaurants, pop-ups are going to be just like you see them on Instagram, think again - Instagram is not real life.

Yelp
A simple affair for those who were fans of the show, The Golden Girls Kitchen is a fun little treat with simple eats. You will find that parking is easy in evening hours and garages are plentiful around this part of Beverly Hills. Make sure to follow the one way streets and don't forget to mind the meters to avoid tickets. The food: this is by far the most lackluster part, making you feel that Sophia's lasagna is that of a microwaved meal, as is the accompanying garlic bread. I would also note that the cheesecake is best when it is strawberry, and easily the best thing there. The strawberry is like a jam, and really nothing to write home about because the consistency feels like it came from Wal-Mart kitchen. However, the cheesecake consistency and content is great. It is creamy and delicious. Getting this mixed back of low end eats is fine if you consider that you don't pay much for it. The daiquiri is a fun treat and a sugar bomb within blended ice. I think you can agree that the umbrella in your drink is a nice throwback to what was, and what you only see at tiki bars these days. I think the pop up does what they can on a budget. You have a chance to enjoy some decor from the show, but know the pop up doesn't have everything to spec like one may come to expect. This is your have fun, but have low expectations kind of place. Visit with friends and make the best of it.

Yelp
Gosh. What a disappointment. Ofc the location was iconic being right in the heart of Beverly Hills and the drive through the streets in the residential neighborhood was amazing... We got to sit outside which was nice because inside seemed a little stuffy and super loud. The bedroom and the kitchen is basically your only photo opp. There's a backdrop and just around the corner by the bar area where the hot pink neon sign "thank you for being a friend" is but the lighting is horrible. The food was just blah. I read all the hype about the chef Royce Burke who created the lasagna but seriously... it was not it. My girlfriends ordered the salad and soup but the soup came out cold. Three of us ordered some slushy pina colada and they were half filled and mine came out so watery. Four of us shared the cheesecake... again, nothing to rave about. The infamous cheesecake... nothing special. People said they play reruns of the show but I didn't see anything and they weren't even playing the theme song. They had on some random 80's music. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this pop up to anyone nor would I go again. Much rather would've spent $200+ on an amazing dinner elsewhere BUT I am thankful my girlfriends and I got to spend the afternoon together. Good luck if you go! Hope your experience is better than ours.

Yelp
After taxes, tip and drinks it came out to be $70 a person. Soft drinks are $5 each and trying to get a refill was very difficult. Our server came to our table twice, the second time was after we were all done eating. I tried flagging down other servers and most of them would forget, except for Darrell. Shout out to him cause he was the only server (not even ours) that would actually bring our refills (the cups are very small). DO NOT ORDER THE LEMONADE!!! I don't understand what they are using, it just tasted like chemicals. The Lasagna: Wasn't bad just very small. It is spicy, which no where did they mention it. It is the most expensive item $20 and came with a very tough inedible garlic bread. Bacon lettuce and potato sandwich: It comes with fries. It didn't look small but my friend said she was still hungry afterwards. Parking: There are meter parking right out front if you are lucky enough. There is also a a parking garage nearby that charges $6 per 30 min. The dining room: I don't think there were no AC, it was very weak and I was sweating. We didn't get any cute little flags on our food or dessert. I asked for them and they ran out of Rose and Sophia. We went only 11 days after they open and they already ran out of supplies. I was excited to buy things from their gift shop and.... It's just 5 items. A trivia game (I already have), Clue (already have), 2 monopoly and another board game. We all had fun taking pics. Overall I'd give it a solid 2.5 stars.

Yelp
The set up is so cute.. my friends are a huge fan of golden girls and they were super excited to be here and they loved every bits of it. The drinks were okay, hated the paper straws though cause they got soggy really fast.. I had the pina colada without alcohol, it was good.. the food was alright nothing to rave about.. the cheesecakes were on point though.. I enjoyed that. The staff was really nice and accommodating. Presentation of food was very eye pleasing..

Niqua L.

Yelp
This is a cool idea and whomever runs it is a thief for the prices they charge. Everything is an additional fee with their strict policy/restrictions. I visited when they were in New York and the food is okay.

Alma P.

Yelp
Wow..the reviews are so harsh! It's a pop-up for fun and if you go expecting five star dining you will of course be disappointed. If you go with a fun attitude of 'hey, something different' and I love the GG kitsch you'll walk away having a good time like I did. And I thought the food was good.. something like a Mimi's Cafe style. The cubano was well done and the lasagna was tasty. I'd avoid the cheese balls as they were super basic but we liked our food and cocktails. :)

Steven R.

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This is a disgrace of a restaurant. The decorations look like something someone in middle school could do. The wall paper is peeling. The plants are plastic. No booze during the week, no changing what you ordered since they force you to do so ahead of time. No swapping cheesecake to cake if you won't eat cheesecake. If you're going to do a themed restaurant actually invest in your theming. Also do not sit outside as you get none of the experience. But also just don't go. Biggest waste of money.

Geray T.

Yelp
First and foremost I'm a HUGE Golden Girls fan, but with the same breath I'm very realistic of what "Pop up" events can turn out to be. As well as I've worked in the restaurant industry for YEARS.... I'm always extra understanding and patient but all that to say it was lack luster is an overstatement! Let's just get to it.... The food chileeee was ALL THE WAY BAAAADDD!! Like how dare them use Sofia's name like that! We order the Cuban sandwich, Lasagna, ginger ale to drink and strawberry cheesecake for dessert. Long story short there was not one ounce of flavor in ANYTHING we ate! Like the lasagna tasted like canned tomato sauce supposedly made by a top tier chef, who has the nerve to call it his "secret lasagna!" Well hell the secret is out! The secret is he doesn't use ANY SEASONING!!!! LMAO and the manager said people told her the lasagna was SPICY LMAO!!! The whole crowd laughed at that! The Cuban sandwich tasted like a sweet pickles and bread. It had ONE measly piece of cold ham and a scoop of pulled pork. The ginger ale didn't have any ginger nor ale! LOL the cheesecake was DRRRRYYY The feed us like we were at the Shady pins! I wasn't expecting 5 start food but DAMN we got played!! Lol Ok now the decorations was cute but not $50 a person cute! The music was good....but here we go, There were no free goody bags, barely photo opportunities, no trivia question. The servers weren't great they seemed tired and over it. Now with all that to be said it was a hilarious night bc things were so bad and everyone around us agreed so we all just laughed about it. Like it's a great memory that'll I'll keep that I made with my besty! I wouldn't recommend anyone going especially if your hungry and a real GG fan.

Yelp
Picture it: Los Angeles, 2022. Two hard-working, HARDCORE Golden Girls fans come across an online ad promising the ultimate, immersive, Golden Girls, pop-up experience, and get scammed outta 60 bucks a piece. Let's start with the positives: -The photo opps were.... cute. -The customer service was decent (at least it was for us) -The strawberry cheesecake was delicious!! Now. The negatives: Where do I start? Well, given that it is a restaurant, after all, I'll begin with the food. My friend and I each ordered the Lasagna il Forno (I think that's how you spell it). Girl, it was more bland than the guy I walked out on in the MIDDLE of our first (and only) date, and he was pretty damn bland! It also had the nerve to be cold!! Did they plate the shit three weeks ago when my girl and I bought our tickets, and have it just sitting until we got there? It certainly seemed like it. The garlic bread was also cold and hard as a rock. Also, also, my friend ordered a plate of fries, which had no seasoning, whatsoever. I mean, after realizing how much money I'd just thrown into the wind, EYE was saltier! -They never once played the theme song! How you gonna have a restaurant dedicated to The Golden Girls and NEVER play that ICONIC song?? All that money y'all scammed from all these fans and you couldn't afford licensing??! Seriously?!?! -The re-created sets (of which, there were only TWO) were very cheap-looking and not much to write home about. Up close and in-person, they honestly looked like a team of 10th graders threw 'em together. -My girl and I were stuck waiting outside to be seated for a full half-hour after our scheduled reservation time. However, we made the most of it and just had our own, cute, lil' photoshoot. -Lastly, NO alcohol. GIRL....... for real??? If you've already bought a ticket to this place, well.... Godspeed, and may the force be with you. If you're *thinking* of buying a ticket to this place, a word of advice: DON'T. You'd be much better off calling your girls over, buying one of those little frozen cheesecakes from Trader Joe's, throwin' a Stouffer's lasagna in the oven, and having a Golden Girls marathon at your place. You'd certainly be saving gas and money... and you'd probably have a lot more fun, too‍.

Yelp
This pop-up leaves a lot to be desired. I REALLY wanted it be fantastic and fun. Thankfully, we had good friends to stumble through the experience with. PARKING We opted for the suggested parking location at 415 North Bedford. There was no attendant in sight, so we parked in one of the many open spots and made our way to the restaurant one block away. When we returned and got into our car, we were accosted by an attendant who insisted we pay him $20 for parking there. He was not aware of the Golden Girls Kitchen or the supposed 2 hours of free parking that was stated on their website. CHECKING IN Outside the restaurant is a table and person to check you in. This is a moment where you can take photos in front of the entrance, which was covered with panels of the painted Golden Girls. ENTERING AND EXPLORING We were led to our table on the patio. First impressions were limited. We quickly passed a bar and a neon sign that said "Thank you for being a friend" before entering the quaint dining room and then the patio. The space was a lot smaller than I expected. Later, we walked around and found Blanche's Boudoir, a mini recreation of Blanche's bedroom. Behind the dining room was a faux kitchen decorated vaguely in the vein of the show. That was it. We were left wanting much, much more. AMBIANCE The decor was done fairly well for an event on a budget. Music was simply 80s music with no connection to the show's many musical moments. I noticed cobwebs at our table and a table cloth that needed to be changed from a messy party before us. There didn't appear to be any air conditioning, as we were sweating out way through the meal. DINING The themed menu was cute, but the resulting dishes were disappointing. The lasagna was a cool, small, 2-layered dish with an overcooked, crunchy piece of garlic bread. Our friend's Bacon Lettuce and Potato (actually tomato) was nothing special. And the the Cuban sandwich was underwhelming to say the least. Frustratingly, we had a difficult time getting utensils. We were told we had to wait for them to be washed. About five minutes after our food arrived, we had utensils and napkins delivered. Shortly after we started eating dinner, our desserts arrived, even though we didn't have much room on the table. A downside to preordering online, I suppose. The cheesecakes were sweet and tasty. The chocolate cake was dry and just okay. Alcoholic drinks were overpriced at $16 each and they were nothing special. Choices with rum, vodka, tequila or gin. They should have had more options and more creative names that coincided with the show. So many missed opportunities. Sofia's hot toddy, anyone? SERVICE Everyone was pleasant, but it quickly became clear that most were new to restaurant hospitality. It felt very disorganized. People didn't know what was going on or who was supposed to do what. Even getting the bill was a bit confusing. Oddly, we got two separate checks: one for the meal and one for alcohol. STORE There was mention of a store, but the reality was laughable. The so-called store was an unmanned counter with a sheet of paper listing a half dozen items for sale. If you looked above to the right, you could see some of those items showcased on a slender set of shelves mounted on the wall. CONCLUSION I would pay good money to have an experience that went the extra mile to replicate the show's essence. Hire a production designer to recreate the set, bring in a top-notch caterer, curate relevant music, hire guest actors from the show to make an appearance, hold trivia contests, bring in a pig named Baby! Unfortunately, this pop-up just didn't come close to capturing the magic of The Golden Girls.

Jessica L.

Yelp
I meannnnnn...look, you're paying for the novelty and that is it! I went twice and both times left less than impressed. Pros: * Food was decent, not horrible * Total nostalgia and fun decor, esp if you're a Golden Girls fan * Free 2-hour parking garage 1/2 block away Cons: * Service (while friendly) is a hit n miss * Super small tables. Barely enough room for 2 plates. * This is one expensive ass meal just for the paid in-full reservation. Doesn't include drinks or sides. * The sides are way overpriced and mediocre at best Having been twice, I'm officially over this place and won't be back.

Moni O.

Yelp
This place is not a 5 star restaurant. This place is not a 5 star restaurant. This place is not a 5 star restaurant. Okay. Now that that's out of the way. This experience is what you make it. If you love the show you'll have fun enough. If you're with someone who loves the show their joy will make the experience fun enough. I can't say the reviews are wrong, but good Lord are they harsh. Where to begin: Parking: the suggested parking is free for 2hrs and wildly pricey after 2hrs. I don't recall the price but you honestly don't need more than 2hrs here. Unless you're waiting long... then that sucks. We waited for maybe 10mins and that's mainly bc I was buying tix at the door. Entry: I had a theory that since they had an a la carte menu I could 'waitlist' or not get a ticket before I arrived. The markup on the tix felt crazy so was curious to try my luck at the door. Jokes on me. They *will not* let you in without getting a bucketlisters ticket even if it's pretty damn empty inside lol. I went during non peak lunch and for $40ish/person it was worth it. For the dinner/wknd price hike I'm glad I didn't pay that premium and would probably not have had as pleasant of an experience if i did. I don't think it's worth it. So do w/ that what you will. If you have a party of 3 I'd advise 3 single seats at the bar. It sucks you can't get a table, but I'm pretty confident you'll be annoyed you had to burn $$ on a 4th ticket for this. Restaurant: it's cute and gimmicky. If you're hoping for a Disney level immersive experience look elsewhere. It does the job. Nothing extra. You'll get your pics and eat your lasagna and won't think you wasted your life. Again, I'm a GG supporter who went w/ a super fan and she had the best time. She had her expectations in the gutter based on the reviews and was pleasantly surprised. So maybe go w/ gutter expectations and you'll leave possibly feeling like you're on the 2nd floor. There's also a/c lol! Now the place has very high ceilings so it was faint, and there were maybe 5 tables seated while I was there so it wasn't crowded at all - so maybe that helped us feel it? But we never broke a sweat or felt hot. The wait staff were on it and friendly. Def team vibes but I liked everyone I encountered. Shoutout to Fay our main server. Food: our portions were quite large. We got the lasagna and Cuban. We joked with our waiter wondering is it really microwave food and she made it very clear she's watched with her own eyes them making the lasagna lol. The food is good. Would I ever crave it - no. Would I need to come again - no - bc LA has 85 million restaurants. Did I feel ripped off - no. I complained to my sister that my lasagna had too much meat (I've lived in LA too long lolol) and my sister and the table next to me thought I had an extra head. I am a fan of balanced distribution hence why I'd never get a double Patty smash burger. Anyway, I really enjoyed the bread of the Cuban it was nice and soft, fries were warm and salad tasted fresh. We *really* enjoyed the cheesecakes. I loved the strawberry and she loved the chocolate. The chocolate reminded me of brownie batter. Rich and think. Almost too much which is why I'm so glad I got the strawberry. But I was a lil peeved we couldn't get cookies n cream unless we ordered a 3rd slice. The menus provided are if you want extra food on top of what's with the ticket. It's enough food already. I can't imagine why anyone would want more elevated cafeteria food. I didn't drink so no idea on how their bar is. If you don't order extra there's no way to tip your server so plz ensure to bring cash. America sucks and they still deserve a livable wage! :) Vibe: overall had a fun time. Everyone was ready and willing to snap pics of you enjoying the experience. They play random 80sish music until the theme song. I'm pretty confident all of the TVs even switched to playing the opening credits as the theme song played. They played it 2x during our 90mins. The staff got really loud and encouraged everyone to sing along. Beyond that that's the biggest surprise - I assume beyond the drag brunch. The TVs play misc clips on mute. Would've been cool to hear the show but I imagine that would be a noise headache. Overall: I don't think I've ever written a review this long in my life lol. But the wildly varied reviews had me super confused and i went into it with lots of questions so thought I'd give some clarity to the folks at home still deciding. Honestly this is a solid 3-3.5 but since the reviews are quite harsh and I was pleasantly surprised I bumped it to 4 bc the sister had a grand time, servers were nice and honestly I wanna help the GGK overall score a bit.

Yelp
In the spirit of the Golden Girls, I'm going to be as positive as I possibly can to keep Bea, Betty, Rue and Estelle from rolling over in their graves. Hence the one star. This was planned as a way to celebrate my birthday by two of my dearest friends. Hands down, the best part of the evening, time spent with them and my better half. Arrived at 6:45pm. Seated at 7:15pm. Tablecloth dirty. They replaced. Our friends had already preordered food so we ordered drinks. Drinks arrived 30 mins later. Another 30 mins pass, we asked where our food was. Our server thought we had already eaten. At this point I'm channeling Dorothy thinking how long are we gonna circle the airport? We asked for salads. They brought them about 10mins later. Score! To Rose's delight, it looks like Billy can play after all. At 8:30, super friendly server delivers four lasagnas. Sauce in lasagne had an inauthentic spice kick, garlic bread was cold, oily non-absorbent. Portions, relatively small for a high profit margin pasta dish. Cheesecake was a baby step in the right direction. As this experience came to a close, per Blanche, I saw my entire life flash before my eyes and I thought, what a shame if I die now, I'm too young... And I'm wearing the wrong underwear. For anyone considering dropping $50-$80pp on a Golden Girls night out, consider a GG night in with your besties. Throw a Stouffers frozen lasagne in the oven, unfreeze a Sara Lee Cheesecake, and watch a GG marathon on Hallmark or Hulu. While I'm not a fan of frozen food, clearly, there's a time and place when it's the better of the two options. In this case, it is. To Bucketlisters, the company who produced this event, if you're going to call this Golden Girls Kitchen vs. GG Experience and are serious about taking this savory show on the road, start by hiring a talented chef. With Royce Burke, honey, I don't think there's enough sugar left in the bowl. Perhaps his 80 FB followers know something I don't, but at least consider my suggestion. In closing, if the sole purpose of this endeavor was to bring friends together, then job well done. After all, that is what Golden Girls was all about. If so, might I suggest this be your value proposition vs. dining on food from the show. Who knows, it may spark more stars on Yelp and reunite people at the same time. Then at least we can chock this overly priced, underwhelming food experience up to a great night out with friends. #yelpelitelife

Yelp
This place was a total disappointment. Lame, cheap decor. Be prepared for NO AIR CONDITIONING. The poor servers had sweat through their clothes which made it hard to eat the food they served. We had to keep asking for silverware and drinks. It was as if all the servers had given up on life at this point. And I really don't blame them. The food was nearly inedible. The Cuban sandwich had sweet gherkins on it (??). The BLT had wilted, brown lettuce and 2 pieces of bacon. The lasagna was not disgusting but really spicy. The "instagrammable sets" were pathetic and didn't really look like the show. I'm a super fan and paid $220 for my family of 4 to come here. Do not waste your money.

Yelp
My family and I traveled from CO to California for this experience for my birthday. 1st - it doesn't matter if u tell them it's ur birthday because they don't do anything anyway. Not even a song, no special drink or free cheesecake. 2nd - They tried to seat us outside!!! Don't fall for this because it's just outside seating. NO GOLDEN GIRLS EXPERIENCE AT ALL. When we protested the outside seating they told us it would cut into our 90 min time slot. Ugh! I do not recommend On the good side, once we were seated inside after protesting, the place was adorable! Enough food to fill you and great tasting We only enjoyed our experience because we protested the outside, low balling, seating. If we did not protest, we would have payed close to $300 for false advertising

Yelp
This could have been a fun experience but it wasn't. I will say the lasagna was good BUT spicy! Don't waste your time with any other entrée, the meat on the sandwiches was tasteless and the lettuce was brown and wilted. The experience was overpriced and not as advertised. My son is an avid Golden Girls watcher and had a list of things he wanted to buy but we found nothing to buy. Making lasagna at home and watching a marathon of Golden Girls would have been a better experience.

Yelp
Deep breath...where do I start? Can I just say "ditto" to all the other reviews? I was really disappointed. Food: I had high hopes based on the articles I read. From an article, "Berry said that they wanted to avoid ending up with an experience that's all fun photo ops but disappointing food. "We don't want people to go, 'Yeah, it looked great in there, but my gosh, that was like a one-dollar burger," Berry said. "I couldn't do it to myself. I couldn't invite friends to come in, and then they suffer through one of the worst meals they've had because we put all of our money into the moments and not the food." Berry acknowledged that the event comes with a "premium price," costing around $45. He said that they wanted to make sure it delivered on its promise, particularly while people are dealing with inflation and high gas prices, because mediocre food can make people forget all of the cool theming." Well, I'm sorry to tell you Barry, but that's exactly what you ended up with: great photo ops with terrible food. Why is there a menu teasing me with things I can't order? You are required to order in advance, and you're only allowed to order either the strawberry or chocolate cheesecake. Why on earth is there pumpkin and Oreo cheesecake on the menu if you won't let me have it because I ordered in advance? Pro tip: don't order in advance if you don't have to but that was the only option I saw. Also, when you order in advance, one of the entree options is soup and salad. No description of either. Currently, the soup is butternut squash so if you don't like that or you are allergic, don't order that. I also agree with the other poster about the "sad Cuban sandwich". Next to the lasagna, this was touted as the second best item on the menu. In keeping with the 80's theme..."Where's the beef?" (I.e. pork) I feel bad for people who are gluten free. My friend was given a vegan entree with a piece of garlic bread. Um. vegan food does not equal gluten free. Also, don't you think the gluten free people would like some meat or cheese? My poor friend had to pull snacks out of her purse because her $55 gluten free meal was insufficient. Atmosphere: It was so hot! We were all sweating and fanning ourselves in the main dining room. I hope the AC just happened to be broken that day because it was extremely uncomfortable. The sets were cute and provided good photo ops. We enjoyed taking photos. The music was 80's which was fun but where was the Golden Girls theme song? The description promised that it would be played during your reservation time, and we did not hear it. Disappointing. I'm really glad I was with fun friends, because I was really disappointed eating subpar food in a sweat box. It was not worth the price. If you really love the Golden Girls, go for it. Just make sure you go during the off peak (cheaper) times and lower your food expectations.

Yelp
Had the BEST TIME! You definitely got the "Golden Gil's" vibe even before You walked through the elaborately painted front entrance with our Divas' faces painted on the exterior. Our host was soooooo nice, and even chatted with us while we waited outside for our tables. Although we had one person who bought a separate ticket, they did allow 2 of us to go sit with her at the bar. They totally accommodated us. And the bartenders chatted with us the whole time. We're the portions HUGE? No, but this isn't Cheesecake Factory. If u want that, go walk down the street to your same old boring dinner. Some women even came in dressed at the golden girls themselves. This experience is what you make of it! Have fun! Let your hair down, and GO WITH FRIENDS! You are coming here to smile, have fun, and talk about your love for the Golden Girls. And we did just that! People will waste hundreds of dollars going out drinking, or pay $50 in service charges to get fast food brought to their door for postmates, but are gonna jump on here and b*tch. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this pop-up a reality! Your hard work paid off, and I appreciate the efforts you made. And kudos to the smiling staff. I would DEFINITELY go back!

Yelp
Food is really bad for this pop up. Super gimmicky. I don't think Sophia or Dorothea would have accepted this, ha. I went for the nostalgia of Golden Girls. We sat outside, very warm, service was ok, the server was nice, but very forgetful, never brought refills, extra napkins or ketchup as asked. We just went inside and had to stop a server. This pop up Is just microwave toasted or reheated previously cooked food. No alcohol on weeknights so even more blah for a bday dinner. I had a super dry reheated Cubano with somewhat melted unknown cheese, some reheated steak fries and a sad side salad. The dessert was a slice of cheesecake from those boxes like at Costco. We had 6pm seating and when all is said and done, we each spent $70 for maybe $20 of food. My friend did like their vegetarian lasagna though. The kitchen set was cool kitchy would have been neat to sit inside the kitchen. One star for the nostalgia and happy thoughts of Golden Girls. One star for my friend's bday and he was happy. No stars for bad food and no alcohol on weekdays.

Yelp
Oh dear! It felt like shady pines! The food, the decor, the service and everything! The Golden Girls must be turning in their graves. Recreated kitchen and Blanche's bedroom for those who wants to take photo souvenirs. The table for 2 is so Frikkin small. The plates are bigger than the table. The Cuban sandwich is nowhere Cuban. A piece of thinly sliced ham (must be Boar's head) with minced bacon and morsels of pulled pork and 4 pieces of pickles. Lasagna was spicy not creamy. Didn't taste bad not great either. I added another star for the cheesecake. Where is Sophia's stove? Gotta take it to this place.

Yelp
Went Saturday night (8-13-22), party of 4. Reservations were 6p. We sat on lanai, but didn't notice AC issues in the main areas, perhaps those issues are for afternoon seating. We were seated at 6:20 and the temp of the lanai was fine. Table cloth was dirty. Water was served, but half the party got small glasses the rest large. We pre-paid and pre-ordered at $65 a person. They also give you a menu... Going by the menu prices the food value was $30 for meal and cheesecake. Not sure what the order menu is for, perhaps for walk-ins if they have room, not sure if they add a cover charge for those customers. The service was slow, but very friendly. We had 2 regular lasagnas, a soup and salad, and a Cuban Sandwich. The Cuban Sandwich was small, and fries served cold. The Soup and Salad was fine. The 2 lasagna portions were noticeably different sized portions. When asked about it we were told that there was extra sauce on one portion but the actual lasagna was the same. It didn't seem that way to us. The Lasagna was good, we liked the sauce. It's not a stacked Lasagna, it seemed like one pasta sheet, cheese and meat and a second pasta sheet, then add cheese and sauce. Drinks were $16 for alcoholic and $5 for soft drinks. One drink was a smaller portion than we saw at other tables for the same drink. The set of the Kitchen was OK, it would have been nice to have the kitchen table, were you can get pictures seated around it. There were table in front of the kitchen, but there was a low wall in between, so even if you happened to get seated at one of those tables, it wouldn't have been a good pic. The bedroom area was very nice. The pics in the bar area were fun to see. All in all, go for the company and experience. If you are a great group of friends that can have a great time anywhere, you'll have a great time here. We had read the FB and Yelp reviews and went in with low expectations, so all in all, our expectations were exceeded.

Raven Y.

Yelp
I agree with most of the reviews. I am giving it three stars as grace. It's only their third day open. However, if I knew what it was going to be before I got tickets, I would have skipped it altogether. It was a great quick photo opportunity of some things that remind you of the show. However, looking around and taking photos will not take longer than ten minutes. The music is 80s themed but not related to the show. The food was decent but cold! We were not able to confirm the vegan cheesecake was actually vegan, so my brother was unable to try his. The Chocolate Cheesecake was a little dry but the best one. Please skip the Strawberry Cheesecake! The drinks are over priced. I saw in another review, they were offered alcohol but we were told they only had nonalcoholic beverages. They were okay but I would have been happier with a glass of water. I really hope this pop up gets better. I am very thankful I got off peak tickets because it's not worth the peak hour prices! I really hope it becomes more interactive or immersive with things from the show. I really want it to be better than what it was.

Felicia G.

Yelp
What a cute concept ? I grew up on the Golden Girls and I will never forget the show. Watching the show was a past time of mine with my mom so especially, special. I wasn't expecting much from the food and was pleasantly surprised. I actually ordered the vegan lasagna and cheesecake and I have to say, they weren't bad. You can add on ad ons so I had a salad and cran-lemonade. They also have a made up bedroom and kitchen inside to take pictures in. They have a ton of fake flowers and drop. Overall, it was ok. If you want to experience part of the novelty, then you'd want to come and check it out.

Ashley A.

Yelp
Such a cute little pop-up, a MUST for any Golden Girls fan. We arrived early and were allowed in. Wasn't busy at all for being a Sunday, service was great definitely want to do it again before it's over.

Owen T.

Yelp
2 stars for the quirkiness. The food was inedible. None of us finished ours. We were AMAZED at how bad it was, and I'm pretty sure this is a scam and someone is making out with some serious money. *THERE IS NO ALCOHOL DURING THE WEEK* Bring your own food or don't go.

Nadia A.

Yelp
Took my mom for a Xmas gift. We sat at the anchor bar and loved every minute of it. The food was great , the drinks were strong shot out to the bartender! Cute photo ops and the chocolate cheesecake was the best! Go if you or someone you're into loves the golden girls!

J P.

Yelp
Had the opportunity to check out the pop-up earlier this week and it was great!! We had such a good time! Food/main entrees were yummy. Sides like french fries and cheese balls can use some flavor, but wasn't bad. The decor was spot on, not at a 100% but close enough to Shady Pines. Took a few pictures, bought some merchandise and the staff was fun! You have to experience it for yourself. Good thing it was extended until December, may have to go again!

Joey Q.

Yelp
We enjoyed our outing at the pop-up on Sunday @ 4:30! The food was just okay, but was prompt as were the cocktails. Overall, the service and staff were all on point! All things considered, coming out of a pandemic with reported worker shortages, no complaints. Twas a nice nod & tribute to the show. Perhaps more commemorative dated official "Kitchen" merch next time? Look forward to future Bucket Listers events!

Gor-Jess M.

Yelp
Fun experience. Food was good. Drinks were good. Entertainment was fun. Service was great. Parking was horrible. Went on a Sunday (Drag Show) with friends. Got sat outside in the small patio. Seats were OK, but we couldn't see the drag show happening inside. Queens did make their rounds outside to patio, but not being able to see the entire show was kinda wack. Small bedroom set up was fun for pictures. Overall, not worth the money, but fun nonetheless.

Lourdes L.

Yelp
I cant emphasize the insane robbery this event is, do not come the food tastes like reheated frozen food you are paying top dollar for and the entertainment is a crappy built kitchen set THATS IT, for $$$$$ please just go to a nice restaurant. When all was paid and done we paid $80 per person!! $6 for water each, just complete Miami and production bull$hit STAY AWAY!

La Sandra J.

Yelp
If you're a true Golden Girls fan then this is the place for you. They did a terrific job of replicating Blanche's bedroom, and the kitchen. My friend ordered the lasagna and said it was very tasty. I had the Cuban sandwich and really enjoyed it. You get exactly 90 minutes ti eat , take pictures, socialize etc. like I said, if you're a true fan you'll love it, if you're not ........ I can't say it was actually worth the $60 or $65pp. Oh, we had cheesecake for dessert; it was rich & tasty. I've had better and worse They also see Golden Girls memorabilia. The best thing for me was when they played the theme song and the entire restaurant joined it; that was epic

Marliz G.

Yelp
As soon as I found out that there was a golden girls restaurant pop up happening I knew I needed to be apart of it. So we took the long drive from where we live to Beverly Hills. It took up about an hour and 15 mins to get there. The drive home wasn't as short. Now let me tell you bout this place... I absolutely love it. But just because I'm such a fan that it could have sucked and I didn't even notice. Lol loved being apart of it all, loved seeing where they spent time, in the kitchen and loved being around people who shared the same love for my golden girls as I do. I loved it. And as a must see experience I recommend it to anyone who is a fan.

Mickey P.

Yelp
If I could give it no stars I would. Don't waste your money. The food was passable, drinks ok. Service horrendous!! We got there 15 minutes early there were empty seats and tables said we had to leave for 15 minutes no room. Not even to stand at the bar. If you are a party of 4 or more you get the comfortable seats and good tables. Table of 2 relegated upstairs to small tables and uncomfortable seats. They don't even have straws for the Hurricane Drinks, sorry no straws. they warn you when they put the drinks down to be careful because the tables are slotted and unstable. Music blaring couldn't talk, The strawberry cheesecake didn't have strawberries, it had strawberry jelly crisscrossed. Basically when you book the reservation you pay $40. per person for a mediocre entree & a small piece of cheesecake. To that they add a 4.95 service charge and tax. On the dinner they add $8. per person to the bill, but don't call it a tip just a charge per person. Then they add it to your drink and appetizer bill, tax it all and suggest you tip on the whole amount. Really? they want you to tip on your tip? Sophie, Dorothy , Rose and Blanche were really classy lovely Ladies and I think they are turning in their graves at how there names ar being used to run a scam on their fans.

Jason F.

Yelp
DON'T BOOK THIS EXPERIENCE! No matter how much you love The Golden Girls, a Hulu subscription and take-out cheesecake from the convenience store would be a better more cost effective experience! The food is NOT GOOD, there is virtually no effort in making the experience feel like anything special, the service is fine, but in my opinion there is NO VALUE FOR MONEY. STAY HOME. Directly question the judgement of anyone who gave this place more than 1 star.

susan e.

Yelp
It's for the experience my friend said. It was not a well liked experience for me. Think Ikea kitchen set up on a wall with old plates and a palm tree bed spreadsheet and head board. THAT'S the experience. Basic TV showing GG episodes while we ate. We had a reservation at 815pm got sat after 830pm. Once we got to the table, the linen was disgusting, literally a soiled linen from the past patrons. I mentioned it to the hostess and he was like sorry we don't change them. So I had to use my napkin as a placemat to avoid having my forearm and hands touch someone leftover smears of saliva, sweat and who know what else. So the food came out, pre ordered the lasagna. $65 for a slice of baguette and a bland lasagna. Asked for some parmesan cheese to add flavor to the lasagna, figure Italian food serving place. NOPE no parmesan cheese. Cheesecakes were not tasty at all. Compare to jack in box cheesecake, Jack wins! Oh the other thing, service was horrible! I asked for napkins and a refill of our drinks towards the end of our dinner plates to a waitress who was not our waitress, as our waitress was non existent. She came back with napkins in her hand, I went to receive them from her and she ignore my hand and threw them on the table. I had to do a double take and ask my friend am I tripping or did she really do that? Don't waste your time and money!

Yelp
Stay Golden! The Golden Girls Pop-up known as the Golden Girls Kitchen was a nostalgic eating experience that brought us as the customer, back to this beloved 80s sitcom which was a great throwback to living in Miami with the famous 4 roommates: Blanche, Rose, Dorothy, and Sophia. I recommend doing the valet which is $14 at Crustacean and walk 2 minutes down the street on Bedford to this Bucketlisters event. There you will see the building with artwork depicting famous quotes from the show and be greeted at the door by Hawaiian shirt wearing servers as you enter the restaurant that takes you inside the house of The Golden Girls. To your left is the Shady Pines bar and to your right is the replica of the set that was very authentic to the set design of the show. There is 1 gender neutral restroom downstairs and restrooms upstairs. There is an outside patio known as the Lanai and faces the street. In the main area of the restaurant, you are transported to the kitchen, living room, and bedroom as famously filmed replicas from the show. It is a pre-ordered menu which you can add onto. I had the lasagna made famous by Sophia and we also shared the Cuban Sandwich which was an hommage to Miami where the show was set. We started with the cheeseballs which were 3 cream cheese balls coated with nuts and were provided with individually wrapped crackers, which fyi, you can ask for more crackers free of charge. The lasagna was not a hefty stack or multi layered lasagna, however it was meaty and quite filling. The Cuban sandwich was standard as far as taste, and lacked more of the meat slices than the usual (1/4 star off). For dessert we had the chocolate cheesecake which was a great nod to the famous characters having cheesecake in most of their episodes. We got to walk around and take photos which was fun to see how close they come to the actual set dressing. Our server was a bit unorganized and forgot about us a couple times, we had to ask other servers to check on our food and to ask for the bill (half star off). The merchanidise was not as plentiful as I was expecting, there were only board games available which I mentioned to the hostess that these can easily be purchased on Amazon (1/4 star off). It would have been nice to purchase at least a t-shirt or novelty type souvenir bearing the name of "The Golden Girls Kitchen," but perhaps it is a licensing issue. Also, I noticed that they did play snippets of episodes that appeared to be on a loop and played 80s music throughout the night. It would have been nice if they played the theme song perhaps every 15 minutes or have a host to play trivia. There was a complimentary word search, kudos to whoever thought of that one! All in all, thanks to the Bucketlisters LA for putting on this Golden Girls Pop-Up especially post pandemic and at a time when all we really need is a "friend and a confidant....Thank you for being a friend!"

Arlene C.

Yelp
It was a great restaurant to honor the Golden Girls! I attach a photo of 4 ladies dressed like the Golden Girls! Also one of me in Blanch's bedroom and the.cheesecake!

John S.

Yelp
As a big, big, BIG fan of "The Golden Girls," this was a thudding disappointment on every level, save for the fact that I got to share it with special people and friends. But, wow. What a squandered opportunity. There's the vaguest effort at theming, a weird kitchen that looks almost nothing like the one on TV (well, mildly) and "Blanche's Boudoir," with a tiny little prop bed and some peeling wall decals. It's cheap. It's terribly, terribly cheap -- and not in the way Blanche would like it. There's pounding, raucous '80s music that has NOTHING to do with the show, a few photos here and there, a spare ladder and hand tools left sitting around as you walk in, and no sense of style or fun. There's no "Golden Girls" music, nothing like a drag show or trivia contest or fashion show or any kind of "flourish" moment. The wait staff doesn't seem in on the fun at all, and there's ZERO effort to earn your money -- just a feeling that you were scammed. The food is, in a word, awful. Let me try three words: worse than awful. We put a LOT of effort into having as good a time as possible, but nothing made us want to stick around. This is lackluster at best and vaguely depressing at worst. I'm shocked that Hulu and Hallmark have allowed their names on it. Stay home and watch a few episodes with friends. Make some marinara, sip a mint julep, grade some term papers, and tell St. Olaf stories, and eat that cheesecake from the fridge ... whatever you do, you'll have a more fun and more THEMED and immersive experience than this tacky thing. And to think I wasted my birthday on it. :(

Anthony F.

Yelp
My daughter wanted to go there for her Birthday because she loved the golden girls. instruction in the email explicitly told us to be there 10 minutes early prior to our reservation. we end up waiting 40 minutes for them to sit us. The food came out..it was below mediocre. I only saw my waiter once before she handed me my check. and what really pissed me off.. was that the real strawberry cheesecake was named something completely different as a side order and the cheesecake that I initially ordered from the prefixed menu was something that they cut from a Cheesecake from Costcos. They definitely took the golden girl name.. and ran with it.. and ran the name into the ground with this shitt service and food.

John G.

Yelp
Keep your expectations low. Food was ok. Cocktails were awful. They have a bar, but no real bartender. No one knew how to make a drink other than the few that were on the menu. The memorabilia is on point. Everyone is friendly, but they don't know why they are there. None of them knew who the Golden Girls were before they were hired and some of them still don't. A disappointment overall.

Johana M.

Yelp
If I could give a no Stars I would. I want to tell you that my friends and I went today. First off we did not enter at our start time. We had to wait. Finally inside, we were told that our waitresses was on a break well let me tell you that the waitress never came in fact we had no assigned waitress. We complained to the onsite Manager Suzy. Well she is a horrible manager too. She couldn't careless that we were waiting for waters, for someone to check on us. Susy said she would become our waitress and that was a lie because she would rush past our table without checking on us. We drove one and a half hours for... what should have been a great experience being that we are huge Golden Girls fans. Instead we were met with constant dissatisfaction and disappointment from the manager and most of her staff. Oh and by the way that serving spoon you see in my pic. Is what I was given to eat my small bowl of soup. Yep a SERVING spoon. The food was crap and not worth all the money this place is charging. I am a small frame person and I was left hungry. The soup was probably the best.. flavor wise. My other friend shared a bit of her lasagna which was ok. Don't get the sanwhich it's slapped with tons of mayo...yuk and two leaves of lettuce and two pieces of bacon and one tomato. Oh and wear shorts or something cause it is humid. We over heard others also complain about this and I really hope they yelp you guys too. I mean I know that Miami is hot and humid so not sure if that's what they were going for here but us California's appreciate some AC on a 100° hot degree weather. However there was one wonderful young lady that would try to tend to our table though we were not her table. She was the only friendly server. Her name is Catarina. If I could give her 5 just for her alone I would. She was professional, seemed to care about us as customers.

Hector K.

Yelp
I came here in spite of the reviews (I'm here now, as I type) and I can say the 2* average rating (as of now) is generous. This place is a sad disaster. It's obvious that the people behind this pop-up don't know the Golden Girls, and/or don't care about the show and brand. Yes: the food is barely edible (juuust barely), but I wasn't expecting fine dining. I came in for an "immersive" experience (as advertised) into the revered show, and that was the biggest letdown. The decor is lazy (a half-assed reproduction of the show's kitchen and one of the bedrooms, surrounding the dining area is all there is to see here). The sidewalk/patio section is the "Lanai" and the bar is called "Shady Pines", but there is no ambience to either of them whatsoever. And while there are episodes of the show playing (on mute) on TVs in the dining room, the (VERY loud) music is completely incongruent (I'm typing this to the tune of ONJ's "Physical" and Gaynor's "I Will Survive"). And other than a haphazard neon sign by the bar, and a printed banner randomly placed next to a dining booth, there is nothing in the place that identifies with the show. The staff are kind and present: they're doing their best. But I can't help getting the feeling that nobody involved in this project really knows what they're doing -it's clear that the kitchen (in the very name of the pop up) is not run by anyone ever involved in a kitchen before- or know the show at all. AT. ALL. Nostalgia makes all of us pay handsomely for experiences that recreate the good times of our youth. That is fine, and expected. But this pop-up is so lazily and shoddily put together, I find it irresponsible (and borderline abusive) to charge over 50 dollars a pop, when there's almost nothing here that commands the price: the food is not good; the ambiance is completely a miss; and your nostalgia will not be satisfied by this poor attempt to capitalize on a loved and missed show and concept (I said almost because the cocktails were really stiff, and the wine they sell is better than average; but these are items you have to pay for, in addition to the "experience" rate). One last note: when the checks for my drinks and sides came (8.00 for three cheese balls... come on!), I was given an NRA-branded pen in the shape of a bullet, to sign the check with. If there was any doubt that the people behind the pop-up do not know the Golden Girls at all, this poetic piece-de-resistance to an embarrassingly sorry excuse for a themed restaurant, was all I needed to confirm! If you're a casual fan, you will find absolutely nothing here to remind you of the show. If you are hardcore fan, you will be sad and possibly enraged at the audacity of using the name and brand of the Golden Girls in such a disappointing way. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Chad G.

Yelp
What a bug disappointment. I surprised my girlfriend with tickets. She's the biggest GG fan. Where to start. Is it that I got my cheesecake before my drinks and food? Is it the horrible lasagna? Which a $2 frozen lasagna is better. Or the garlic bread that was hard as a rock? Or the horrible drinks we got. It was opening night and I expected some hiccups. But shouldn't Opening Night be the best one? OK the saving grace was the now room temperature cheesecake. But again disappointed. A cheesecake at Costco or my local market is better. Then there is the gift shop. Everything can be found on Amazon. It is in Beverly Hills so you expect a certain level of quality. I feel bad for the restaurant. I would assume they did not prepare the food. Either way the lackluster food reflects this restaurant. Only positive was the two recreations from the original set. I tried to ask my girlfriend questions but she couldn't hear me over the loud music. Great idea. Horrible execution. I will have second thoughts before going to one of their future events.

Dora G.

Yelp
I came to this pop up without any expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Based on some of these reviews you's swear they were serving dog food. I had the lasagna it was good. It does have a spicy kick to it but it manageable. The garlic bread is on the tougher side but I just dipped it the marinera sauce to soften it up. I only had cold water, so I cant comment on the drinks. They were non alcoholic so I wasn't interested. The cheesecakes are good but very sweet. My favorite was the chocolate. It was rich, a little grainy but good. The music is all 80s which I enjoyed. It was very lively. Yes it was nothing to do with the show other than the time period but what were they gonna do play the theme song on repeat? Plus ifMy reservation was at 6pm. I went prepared in short shorts, sleeveless tank and had a fan so I didn't have issues with the temperature. It honestly didn't feel warm to me. My sister who wore jeans and Golden Girls t-shirt was good too. But if you are dying of heat go to the upstairs bathroom, the air is on full blast. What I loved about this pop up was how people dressed up. Some came with wigs and the whole costumes. Others in Blanche's négligées or color combinations that matched a character. It was overall a fun atmosphere. People were polite, courteous and mindful. There was only one possible annoying influencer taking about 3 million pictures with her head/face in different positions but even she got the hint as more people got up to take pic in Blanches room. The place is small (yes with small tables) so don't expect the whole studio its literally just Blanches bedroom, the kitchen and the little Shady Pines bar. But there are plenty of details including the infamous phallic lobster. The waiters were nice but seemed a little anxious. It made me wonder if its was a bad work environment or if people were being rude to them. We tipped our server and he was very grateful, maybe other people are not? Overall I enjoyed myself and liked all the pictures we took. So don't despair if you bought your tickets and read all these crappy reviews the experience will be what you make it. PS Parking is free for 2 hours at the location they suggested which is a short maybe 5 min walk to the place. Bedford Garage 461 N Bedford Dr Beverly Hills, CA 90210

Yelp
I think it's funny reading all the bad reviews about the food, this isn't Nobu if that's what you want go eat there. The food to me was tasty I had the lasagna and garlic bread. The garlic bread was toasted perfectly and the lasagna was good and a great portion. The atmosphere was fantastic, wait staff was attentive, very nice and respectful, management came and sat with us. The whole pop up singing "Thank you for being a friend" was wonderful, I was also able to buy merch like the Shady Pines name tag, buttons, keychain, and a shirt. For the space size they had, it worked out just fine. If you're looking to have a great time with friends, especially if you're all fans of the show, enjoy yourself it's a fun place to go and see if you can find the famous lobster pan . Just remember you're paying for the experience, the ambiance, not to eat at a Michelin star restaurant.

Yelp
Look. I didn't come into this expecting much and I wasn't disappointed. Our reservation was at 6. We finally sat down at 6:45. Sure the lasagna was decent, but the brick hard garlic bread and and other appetizers are not worth the extra $$. I'm still reeling over what the $65 price tag covered - $45 for the main course and $15 for dessert? If you went to the Saved By The Bell experience a few years ago, you would have learned then not to expect a great meal. However this one went one step further and offered no fun interactive experience and only 2 opps for pics on the "set." Do yourself a favor, save your money and better yet donate what you would be spending on a ticket to your local pet shelter. It'll be better spent there.

Yelp
Me and my sisters were so excited for this. We planned months in ahead to be there. We got there and waited in line. Seemed like the people in charge were sort of lost. Got inside and had to sit at the bar top because unless you have a party of two or four you don't get a table. The food was horrendous. I had the soup and salad. The soup was super grainy and half of it was water. Bonus.. it was cold. My sister had the vegan bacon sandwich and tbh how do you mess up a sandwich. My other sister had lasagna and it looked like a frozen lasagna heated up. It 99.9% was from the 99 cents store. The cheesecake tasted so cheap. The place was decorated cute. The kitchen was our favorite part and really the only part. They recreated a bedroom that wasn't even exact and that's all there is to see. Save your money. Food was a waste. Way too expensive for trash and also just look at pictures online and it'll do the same justice. Have a nice day!
