Google
Loved the food, the buns and dim sum were good. There were some other interested options. Maybe try to place your orders for baked food right away as it takes a while. Fun location.

Google
If you know what you're doing here then this review is not for you. They will roll carts near you and as you if you want anything. Many dishes. Once you decide, they will check the paper to track what you ordered. You will have a piece of paper on your table to check ✔️ off what you order. So you can order exactly what you like, whether its a soup, dumplings or anything else etc. They have many dishes that doesn't contain meats. And others do. So if you're fasting, this place will have what you like. Delicious food. Its comes in 4 pieces per order, so I found out to be 2 or more people its cheaper and better for tasting different types of dishes/dumplings. There will be someone with wheeled crate with hot or warm food freshly delivered every few minutes. For 2 persons its was a little over $50 pre-tax pre-tip. They only thing was, it was a little pricey but for the taste and the service, it Worth it. The place is nice and clean. The service is very good, its also a good place for a large groups of people.

Google
Love this dim sum place. Very traditional and great selections. I went with some friends who spoke mandarin so we got really good service and they were very attentive. Def would come back here.

Google
decent selection, though they don’t come around as often (so you can order directly), prices were a bit on the higher end (when did dim sum become $8? 😀). atmosphere was nice and clean. not liking the automatic 18.5% tip, calculated after tax, during lunchtime.

Google
Nice place for dim sum in Mira Mesa just off of I-15. Upon arrival, make sure to check in to place your party in the queue. If you phone in your reservation, make sure you arrive within 5 minutes of your time. Good food and friendly staff.

Google
Great Asian Food! Like the live entertainment. Maggie the manager is always very helpful. Dancing is wonderful here. Fun!

Google
The service is excellent, and the waiters are friendly, and the parking is easy to find. But it fails in the food department. Several of the dim sum dishes were okay, but I ordered 蘿蔔糕 and it was a bit too salty and a bit too wet, which is strange, because I never thought I would describe something like that as 'too wet'. All in all, it is the best dim sum place I have tried in San Diego, and I would consider coming back casually, which is probably more of a knock on all the other places in San Diego than it is against this restaurant.

Google
Wow, what a great experience me and my family had here we tried a bunch of different stuff. That’s one of the reasons that I love them some is because you get to try a lot of different things as you can see if my pictures we didn’t hold back we tried a little bit of everything. It was all fantastic nice clean, and a very cool atmosphere.

Yelp
Mmmmmm yummy!!! Golden island is probably my favorite dimsum place in San Diego! Not sure why it's so lowly rated! Came here on Saturday morning and we were seated right away with lots of empty tables! The place was clean and spacious! Best of all, all the food we had were so delicious except spicy jelly thingie. I'm so shocked this place is only 3 stars. I like here so much better than Jasmine and other dim sum places I tried in Convoy area. Also parking spots are plenty! Will def come back!

Yelp
We've been loyal patrons of this restaurant since it Mr. Le opened it. It's been our go-to spot--bringing the whole family here whenever they're in town, celebrating birthdays, and supporting them. Even when the service wasn't great, the food usually made up for it, so we kept coming back. But after our last two incidents, we're honestly not sure we'll return. It might be time to go back to our old regular place before this place opened--even if it's an additional 15 mins down south. First incident: I called in an order of 3 siu mai and 2 har gow and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived 25 minutes later, only to wait an additional 15 minutes--for a simple dim sum order. That's 40 minutes total. When I politely asked for some extra chili oil, I was given an extra one and was hassled for asking for a third, despite the long wait. No apology, no consideration for the delay--just attitude. I let it go. Second (and final) straw: We called in another order one week later, before leaving Escondido, were told 15-20 minutes again. We left the house 5 minutes after calling it in, drove 20 minutes, and still waited another 15-20 minutes at pickup. We ordered 2 siu mai, 1 har gow, and sauteed rock cod. The har gow "broke" and they had to remake it, now the rest of our food was getting cold. We wouldn't have minded taking it broken--we just wanted to get back home with our food still warm. After finally getting home after 20 mins drive--nearly an hour after calling it in--we opened the bag to find they forgot the rock cod and gave us plain bok choy instead. Just... wow. Hungry and disappointed, we called the restaurant. The person on the phone was apologetic and promised to refund the entire order, remake it correctly, and even throw in the rock cod on the house for the inconvenience. We paid cash so no way we're driving another 20 mins there and another 20 mins back. We agreed to come back the next day after work, even though it's still out of the way for us. When we arrived, the tune changed. They only refunded the rock cod, gave us the correct replacement dish, and threw in a small order of rice. That was it. No full refund, no real acknowledgment of the time, money, and frustration wasted. My boyfriend, who doesn't like to argue, tried but ended up just taking it and left. I wish I had been there because I would've absolutely pushed the issue--they promised to make it right and then backed out. It's not about the free food--we've spent plenty here over the years, ordering the lobster, Dungeness crab, and big family meals. It's the principle. The way these last two situations were handled left a terrible taste in our mouths. We truly miss when Mr. Le first opened the place and Michael was managing. The service and integrity just aren't what they used to be. Sadly, we won't be recommending this place to friends or family anymore.

Yelp
My first time here with my parents. It was amazing! We came for lunch and it wasn't busy at which I love since faster service. hehe! We were starving and wasn't able to take all the food photos. Everything was amazing! We ordered the black pepper steak with with snap peas, house fried rice, xiao long bao, beef buns, chicken feet and more! The the restaurant is very well-maintained, clean and smells amazing! I'm at the owner and he was also amazing and went above and beyond for me and my family. They also have great Vietnamese coffee! I love this place and I'll definitely come back again!

Yelp
I like it. I'm not an expert on dim sum, but I've eaten all over the Bay Area and Orange County. I'd say this is decent and better than the other joints in San Diego county. They are nice too! Easy parking Usually not too busy

Yelp
Came here with a large group. The food was great, and the portions were fine as well. A hidden gem in their menu is the bok choy and mushrooms - the vegetables were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The dimsum is just alright, but the egg yolk buns, noodles, peking duck, and other dishes were fantastic. They also serve free dessert at the end, which was lovely.

Yelp
Fresh Dim Sum! The service was great, we arrived right when they opened to beat the lunch rush. The restaurant is clean and lively. If there isn't something immediately available to select from the cart, we easily request it and it will be made fresh or the server will go and grab it for us. Overall, one of our go to spots for dim sum.

Yelp
I came here with 2 sisters and 2 sisters-in-laws because one of my sister-in-law recommended this place. We were all starving! We came on a Sat for a late lunch get together. When we were seated we ordered from the menu AND we got some stuff from the carts that were passing us by. Everything was nice, hot, AND delicious! The food, ambience, and service were amazing! We were very impressed! I highly recommend this place if ever you want Chinese food and/or dim sum! So come and check it out! You'll be very glad you did!

Yelp
First time eating here and it was good. The food had great flavor and came out hot and quick. Once you're seated, they make sure you're good and have everything you want and need, very accommodating. The atmosphere is nice, open and friendly. The amount of food you receive for the price is really good. I can eat lot and got full fairly quick. I order the Deep Fried Meat Dumpling, Pork & Shrimp Siu Mai, and Sticky Rice Wrap. I was starving and dug in so fast that I completely forgot to take pictures. 10/10 recommendation, my favorite was pork and shrimp siu mai!

Yelp
I took my family and friends came over, the food was okay, but they overcharged and the service was awful, I couldn't believe they still charged us 20% tips without asking! I wouldn't come again! And I am not recommended this place, if you come here, please watch out your bills!

Yelp
When you walk into a Dim Sum restaurant and you have no lived experience eating at one and you are the only non Asian individuals in the restaurant, you know 2 things: 1- food is going to be authentic, and 2- we are going to be fish out of water. We enjoyed what we ate, but really can't say much about what the dishes really were. We had a major communication barrier between us and the entire serving staff. Some of the dishes were rubbery for me, but I believe they are supposed to be like that. I am pretty sure, I will skip this particular place again. But I could tell those in the know really appreciated the food.
google avatar

Jackson L.

Yelp
Excellent service, hot sour soup awesome, but a bit pricey for vegetarian. Many dim sum choices above average!
google avatar

Kimberley D.

Yelp
Great Asian breakfast if you know what I mean. Various dim sum choices and fresh. We had a few different dishes and were all great. From shrimp noodle rolls, shrimp shiumai, Xiao Long Bao, hargow shrimp shiumai, deep fried shrimp seaweed rolls and garlic and soy sauce cucumbers. Wow!! Service was great and attentive too. They also have live entertainment in the evenings. They updated the area for the entertainment. The place looks great. My tastebuds and tummy are happy! Go check em out! Your tummy will be happy too

Yelp
We were hungry, as soon as we sat down, we started to look at the foods in the carts and started asking for things... then water and tea order came there after... but don't be like us, get your drinks, chili oil, etc and then take your time to get your food :) Everything we got, we enjoyed. Appreciated that the dim sums were fresh, the wrappers didn't fall apart like some dim sum joints. If the cart person doesn't have what you want, then ask the wait staff and they will hunt it down for you. The interior is your typical Chinese restaurant, love the cart system, something you don't see in Midwest unfortunately.

Yelp
Ordered 9 waters. 1 diet Pepsi and 1 tea. They gave me 4 teas and charged me 20$. Why? I just think they should hire people who can understand and speak English. My bill was 400$ and 60$ of it was for tips and 20$ for tea, which only one person drank. The food was very bland. I'm just so disappointed at the hidden costs here.
google avatar

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday night for some dinner dim sum and live music! I think it's pretty rare to have dim sum items this late throughout the day since culturally it would be a brunch item. There was plenty of space to choose a table from, and the hostess put us close to the dance floor. I'd say service was good enough for us, and it did feel quite hospital being able to speak Chinese to get what we need. Tea and water service was fine, and the dim sum was as decent. The siu mai was still l delicious, hot and juicy. The rice roll was still good but maybe not my favorite in texture. I think the price of food is also on the higher end like dinner pricing. For what we got it was a fun time.

Yelp
This was actually great in comparison to the dim sum at convoy. Golden island is cleaner and much newer in terms of the building so I feel assured the timely be seeing a critter friends. Dim sum is not salty at all. The only caveat I have is that the carts are slow as they only have one running for each item. If the carts were faster, I would have ordered more but by the time they got to us , I was already full and ready to go. The cart ladies were actually really polite and said you're welcome which is UNHEARD of in dim sum places. Definitely will be back for my dim sum cravings.

Yelp
Good Cantonese food. Great spot in San Diego very good dim sum. Can't go wrong with dim sum. Great atmosphere nice chi. Very good dim sum.

Yelp
Service is attentive, a lot of dim sum choices. Feel their taste is better than they just opened year ago.

Yelp
Expect to wait in line unless comes early hours but waiting wasn't too long. Not many carts are going around fast so gotta ask what you need when you see them. All workers were nice and prices were reasonable.
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
I come here pretty often with family and friends and I believe it has a lot of good qualities! Dim sum options are fine by me, the inside of the restaurant is gigantic with great decor so great for groups of all sizes (had a family party here with 50+ people easy), and service the past few times I've gone (especially the most recent time for a Sunday lunch) has been solid. I know the service is a point of contention in other reviews and maybe I've just been lucky but servers were quick, lady refilling water came by consistently so I was never empty, and the carts came around often. I will agree that dim sum here is definitely more on the pricey side and some carts do take longer to come around than others but other than that, solid place.
google avatar

Gideon T.

Yelp
The service is excellent, and the waiters are friendly, and the parking is easy to find. But it fails in the food department. Yelp
This place used to be so great but I don't know what happened. I feel like the workers who push around the food carts are so impatient and want you to make a decision right away without us taking the time to see what's in each cart. The food is great but nothing stands out.
google avatar

Karlo S.

Yelp
This is more so a 3.5/5 for me (never understood why Yelp doesn't allow for half star ratings lol). So it's no secret that San Diego seriously lacks options for it's dimsum game--especially the cart options. There are a handful of options where dimsum can be ordered menu-style, but other than Golden Island, Jasmine Seafood and the newer Diamond Palace, options are limited. For Golden Island, I think they have the edge with the aesthetics. The table set-ups are nice and clean, plentiful seating, large bar area and stage for special events. Plenty and easy parking around, too. But enough of that...let's get to the food. Dimsum is always good here - they have my favorite shumai in SD as they are meaty and stuffed. They have all your dimsum staples - hargow, sticky rice, turnip cakes, steamed crepes, spareribs, chicken feet, etc. Beyond the steamed goodness, they have the baked items also (baked pork buns are a must), fried items (shrimp balls!) and of course roasted options such as duck and bbq pork. We've also ordered from their regular menu and although prices are a bit on the higher side, the food is good and in decent portions. A work in progress in this place is the staff. There always seem to be a good amount of staff working, but for some reason they are so hard to wave down. What I've noticed on several occasions here is that servers tend to single out the bigger tables and sometimes ignore the tables with just 2-4 people. I get that the tip MIGHT be more for larger parties, but it's no reason to ignore the other patrons.
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
Glad to have this place as a nearby dim sum spot in Mira Mesa. They have the push carts, which is a plus. And plenty of seating, so wait time has never been long. Food is OK though, and service can be slow sometimes.
google avatar

Russ P.

Yelp
This was a good dim sum place. They still have the traditional push carts which is fun to see. They also seem to make everything in-house and they tasted delicious and authentic. I really appreciated the excellent service since my friend has a 2 year old baby, and they were quick to notice and provided a high chair; and when we asked for water, they purposely brought over a water with lid and straw.
google avatar

Sophie A.

Yelp
You know it's good when it has 3 stars on Yelp and Google. Go at dim sum time for maximal freshness (i.e brunch time). Chicken feet excellent--great texture, great flavor. Jian dui (sesame ball) very crispy, not oily, great texture, and perfect amount of red bean filling. Shrimp siu mai was one of the best I've ever had--it's filled with like 3 whole sweet shrimp with good texture instead of like a mince that other places do. Would not recommend the pork xiaolongbao bc the dumpling wrapper is rather thick, the dumplings were not juicy inside and it was a lil cold. The ham sui gok has potential. It was soggy and not hot. I think it's our fault for coming at like 3pm so things have been sitting there a little, although the siu mai and jian dui were definitely made fresh. The tea is actually particularly good too. Side note that $25 for ong choy seems criminal, but who am I to say what the market for ong choy looks like nowadays. Overall, just go at the right time and order the right things! Service was decent and they definitely were quite attentive to us.
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
So terrible experience! I took my family came here for Lunch, they charged me 20% for service fee without asking, ( we have 6 people which include me) , also they charged $15 for the bad quality hot tea. Also, one green vegetable was $23.99, how crazy? So, the total amount was around $300, it was really shocked me, this is first time and last time, I definitely wouldn't recommend this place !
google avatar

Lourdes M.

Yelp
We ordered the pork bun and it's stuck on the plate . They couldn't get it out . So def gave us a new one . Ordered soup for family and they served us half the container for soup .I told them that this is just for 2 bowls not for four and they apologized and gave us more soup . I hate to give bad reviews but please watch out and make sure that you get what you paid for . Soups suppose to be FULL and not half . And watch what you pay coz they charge us that we didn't get and again they said sorry :( I don't even know how they are still in the business . My friend also have some issues with them about payments. Sucks that servers not honest
google avatar

Tyler T.

Yelp
Came in with some level of expectation given some of the reviews and other online recs. The dim sum here was quite disappointing and the service was abysmally slow.
google avatar

Kevin H.

Yelp
I think they changed their name few years ago, and now it becomes pretty expensive. The food is still good tho, and the service is good.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
I'm honestly a bit surprised by some of the reviews on here, but I have to say, this place in Mira Mesa is a decent spot for dim sum if you're craving it! A helpful tip is to call ahead of time to reserve a table, especially if you have a large party like we did (we were a party of 7). I'm not sure what the criteria are, but it doesn't hurt to give it a try! I appreciated the wide variety of dim sum options they offer, including steamed, baked, and from the menu. While San Gabriel Valley is known for having some of the best dim sum, this place did not disappoint. Give it a try!
google avatar

Ka'uhane C.

Yelp
Classic dim sum experience! People walk around with fresh food in carts, but we also ordered off the menu. The portions are huge (meant for sharing), so we ended up taking lots of it home. Left with my dim sum craving satisfied for sure!
google avatar

Jeanette I.

Yelp
Expensive but high quality Chinese dim sum! The duck is good. The egg tarts are really delicious and fresh! I can taste the real butter in the egg tart pastry shell. Ordered this restaurant food doordash, restaurant is called "fung fung Yuen" on doordash

Yelp
Finally got to enjoy a dine-in experience here and it was worth returning. We strolled in for brunch on a Friday before the lunch rush and we're seated immediately. They had a few dim sum carts roaming the dining area, but we also wanted to order off the menu. The dining room was perhaps less than 50% capacity, yet table service felt a bit sluggish, most likely because the focus was on the dim sum service. I observed the couple at the table beside us had some trouble getting the carts to visit our end of the restaurant. But I should also comment that our waters were refilled very promptly multiple times. So things were a bit inconsistent in this area. The few dim sum we tried were standard items, prepared well and not really worth mentioning for those who know this type of food offer well enough. Compared to the other well-prepared items we ate during this meal, what IS worth mentioning is that I felt the Xiaolongbao (aka XLB) here was disappointing by comparison. The XLB here is tiny. It had a noticeably thicker "shell" than what I have enjoyed at Din Tai Fung, which of course is hard to match. Thinner than Joyee's, but still too overpoweringly thick to be considered good or good enough. And lastly, there was hardly any soup inside each of these tiny bites. If you like XLB, do yourself a favor and don't try it here. I will hard pass on this menu item going forward. To be fair, the menu items we tried were very good: - #90 Seafood Pan-Fried Noodle (海鮮炒麵 釀): The seafood pan fried noodles here are yummy. It's favorite dish for us try. The presentation was lovely, with so much veggies and seafood that you couldn't even see the pan fried noodles underneath! The sauce was subtle with just the right amount that it wouldn't quickly drown the crunchy noodles. It was delightful to eat. - #57 French Style Black Pepper Steak (法式士的球): I was pleasantly surprised to see this "French" variation of a dish I often order, when I find it. I'll be honest that I'm not quite sure what makes this version different than the usual Black Pepper Steak. This slightly spicy dish was served over a bed of fresh asparagus. I'm not a big fan of asparagus, but it was done properly and I found myself unable to resist. I look forward to dining here again soon, but I think I'd prefer to save my appetite for the main menu items rather than their dim sum.

Yelp
Went at 2pm on a Sunday, the food on the carts was old and soggy. We ordered fresh for several items, and it wasn't much better. Dishes lacked flavor and the texture was off.
google avatar

WILLIAM P.

Yelp
Back again with our niece. Vast assortment of Dim Sum with Sapporo Draft and Jasmine Tea. Service was efficient. Good to know some Chinese. Unsure of dialects. Wait was less than 5 minutes at 2 PM on a Sunday. Lots of advertising for their Friday night Jazz performances.

Ray O.

Yelp
Great dim sum for San Diego. The food is consistently good. It's not San Francisco, but good to try. Food comes out fresh and service is helpful.

Yelp
This review is 4 stars but mostly because of my experience on this particular evening. Came here with my family for a special occasion on a Friday night. It was live Jazz music night. I've been here once before. The first, I wasn't impressed. Service was bad that day. And the food was good but not great. This time, I had a renewed experience. The restaurant was bustling with energy thanks to it hosting a live jazz music night. There was a live band and a dance floor where people were swinging each other around in style. My brain didn't know what to make of the idea that this "traditional Chinese restaurant" was a bit hip with a live band and dancers. What is this? As the evening went on, we had more and more fun! The band was really good! They couldn't take requests but they were clearly professionals. The dancers were so much fun to watch. They brought a vibrant energy to what would have otherwise been an ordinary Chinese food dining experience. The highlight of the evening was watching the old man swing his wife around to the beat. It was impressive how well they danced at an older age! It brought back wonderful memories for me and my family as we reminisced about my parents own ability to dance long ago. FOOD 3.5 stars I'll preface my review by saying that I'm a bit picky with Chinese restaurants because I grew up with outstanding homemade Chinese food. It takes a lot for me to be above and beyond impressed by restaurant food for this cuisine. Also, I love in an area where Chinese food is plentiful so I'm also a bit spoiled. The food here is solid and authentic. It's good! I enjoyed the dishes we ordered: Peking Duck, Ma Po Tofu, Pea Sprouts, Congee with preserved egg, Beef Chow Fun. Out of all our dishes, I was surprised how much I enjoyed the congee. Preserved egg is an acquired taste but one of my favorite foods and their congee was packed with it. Comfort food! The Peking duck was decent but not the best I've had. All the other dishes were also good. But, nothing blew my mind. This was a fun evening! Great idea, Golden Island, to have dinner and live music!

Yelp
I always appreciate how the dim sum is already ready to eat. The service is Asian meaning you get what you get but we love so many items and it's a family friendly spot

Yelp
They changed ownership recently and my dad has been raving about the improvement in dim sum. Over all, I'm not a huge fan of dim sum, but I do have to admit the quality of the food has improved- the dim sum no longer tastes like it was reheated from frozen packages. The har gow has two shrimps inside which my husband loves. Their sticky rice is unique that there is shrimp and abalone inside- not to my taste as I don't eat shrimp and I've never had sticky rice with shrimp inside (not counting the dried ones) but again, my husband loves it. Service was fast, even for the ordered dishes, and you can request less sodium. They didn't mess up our checks so far (as they did previously with prior management), so we will definitely be back.
google avatar

Shervin G.

Yelp
We went here for a Christmas dinner and paid $1400 for noodles and they were not very good. They did not itemize the check for us showing the cost for each individual item. Also the food was old and spoiled. If we would go to Ruth's Chris the charge would be less and fantastic food.

Yelp
This dim sum place is mid at best. It's nowhere near as good as the ones in the Bay Area, but I still come here because it's as good as you'll get in SD. It's busy during weekend lunches so prepare to wait at least 15 min, or more if you have a larger party. This is a traditional yum cha experience where servers push the dim sum carts around the restaurant, offering you things to eat. I recommend the spare ribs, chicken feet, and BBQ pork bun. The shrimp and chive dumplings were okay. I don't recommend the rice rolls (cherng fun). Check to make sure your bill is correct. We almost got charged for a more expensive dish when it wasn't what we ordered. When we brought it up to management, they kept pressuring us to tell them which server made the mistake even though we told them we can't remember. There's legit 10 different ladies pushing the dim sum carts who are all dressed the same! We had to waive down 3 different people to get this fixed. As management, you should take ownership over your mistakes and not try to point fingers at your staff in front of your customers lol.

Yelp
Amazing food with even better service! Had some time in between meetings to go eat out for lunch and a freind recommend Golden Island. Food: the minute you're seated you have multiple carts coming up to you with fresh selections of different dim sum. I personally love soup dumplings and chicken feet and both were amazing. Egg drop soup and the bbq pork buns are awesome too Service: incredible. The main waitress who waited my table so extremely nice, cheerful and gave me some great recommendations. All the other staff too was very attentive and nice. I will definitely being going back as soon as I'm in the area again for lunch to try other items on the menu

Yelp
Ok I love new experiences! And this place definitely is close to one! When I walked in I was excited to see the ladies with the little carts going to peoples table offering them food from there tray! I have only had this experience once in LA at a restaurant called "OCEANS". So based of that I had my hopes up high. Now I can here with my wife and 11yr old son who don't like to really go deep into experimental food, and for us this was just that.. well mainly for the food on the carts ... it seems like everything that was on the carts was what I call "VERY AUTHENTIC " and if your not used to that then it may not be your cup of tea, because it wasn't my wife's haha. But we ordered the beef fried rice and Mongolian beef with a side of the Chinese broccoli off of the menu was suuuuuper delicious!! All of it and the fried rice was very Eggy the way I like it... So all in all I won't go back but it was a nice visit to another country within San Diego!

Yelp
My wife and I met swing dancing in 1999, and we still continue to dance! Most Friday nights at Golden Island they host "Dim Sum and Jazz" where they hire a live jazz band, supply an ample hardwood dance floor(albeit a bit sticky), and serve Dim Sum on carts, but you can also order anything off the regular menu. And best of all...No cover charge!!! The staff have all been mostly friendly despite being very busy in this era of labor shortage, they got some good hustle! They also do not rush slow dining guests like us whom want stick for at least 2 hours to really enjoy the music and dancing. We'll order bits of food over the course of 2 hours but not all at once :) The food itself is pretty good, just a bit pricy, but I'm okay with that since the Dim Sum portions are the largest I've ever seen, and there is no cover charge. I'm Cantonese(and can speak it!) and have been eating Dim Sum since the early 1980s...I can say that the Dim Sum here is just as good as any place I've had San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Francisco, and Oakland. There are probably some snobby Orange County and LA natives who think their Dim Sum is the best, but it really all just tastes relatively the same to me. Order the Crispy Shrimp Balls...so good!!!

Yelp
Best Dim Sum if you also have to charge your Tesla ! Lol Located near Target, 85 degrees bakery, & Max Chicken, you pretty much can knock out a full day of eating & shopping. If you go early, like 10 am, yes, you will get everything fresh & fast. People are so friendly here & especially Mikey. The shrimp are so large in the siu mai & the carts go around pretty quickly. It's so much better than going to Convoy.

Yelp
Every time our guests from out of town craving for dim sum this is our place. We usually have a good experience and today is no difference. The service and ambience were wonderful. We love there was no wait for Sunday brunch and the food came right away. The dim sum portions were also big. The har gow and hot and sour soup were mediocre but Siu Mai and the custard bun dessert were a hit! We will definitely be back again.

Yelp
It is great to have some options for dim sum places in San Diego, despite that it is still quite limited. Price point / a little overpriced. Quality and selection are not anything close to the ones in L.A. Still, we are glad to have this place where you can have dim sum anytime. Some dishes are better than others, but it is part of the fun adventure. Service is good - food is not terrible, and they tasted fresh. Typically, there is plenty of parking spaces right outside the restaurant.

Yelp
My family and I enjoys coming to Golden Island. Is it the cheapest place? No. Is it the tastiest dimsum? No. But it is close to home, where there aren't a lot of great dimsum to chose from. We never have to wait when we come to this place. There are plenty of seatings. Parking, on the other hand, is somewhat hit or miss. It's in the same plaza as Target, and for people who know the area, know this is a very busy plaza. Like many traditional dimsum places, you order from the carts that get pushed around. You can find almost all the items you expect from a dimsum place, like hargaw, lotus leaf wrapped rice and chicken, chicken feet, steamed ribs, shumai, steamed Chinese broccoli, and various desserts and buns etc. There's also a menu of stuff that may not be available from the cart. The overall food quality is slightly above average. The only bad thing I've had here is the steamed chicken ordered off the menu. The price is on the expensive side for a dimsum restaurant. Overall, not a bad place. The food is consistent and service is pretty good, albeit sometimes they can be a bit pushy. Since I don't have to drive to LA or OC for good dimsum, I'm perfectly happy with this place.
