I recently visited the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino and had quite a bad visit here. Within the first 10 mins of arriving, we decided to go down to the bar where you pay for drinks and support the bartenders when suddenly a bartender dropped a bottle of liquor and it fell and shattered a glass/shot glass, and pieces went flying everywhere. One piece even ended up in the eye of a friend I was traveling with. She dropped the bottle because the shelf was too tall and the hotel didn't provide a step ladder for her to use. We let the bartender know that a piece of glass went into their eye, and they both did the necessary tasks of calling management and getting the eye flushing kit.
Here is my issue... Both bartenders apologized for the accident, and I understand it was an accident, but when management came, they told us EMS was on the way. Once EMS arrived and checked him out, the manager was standing back and once EMS left the manager never came back over. I had to go to him to see if there was anything else he needed. I believe that they should have gone the extra mile, and also should have been the manager's job to come over and once again check in on us. Management never once apologized for the incident that happened, offered to pay for our 1 drink each that we had at the bar, comped our room, or offered us playing money at the casino. There were many things that the manager could have offered, but instead, he just never apologized and walked away. I even let him know that this all happened due to the bartender not having the necessary things behind the bar. This could be a major lawsuit against the facility, and this was just completely ignored, which shouldn't have been.
A smaller issue was the first night we ordered room service, and then the next day the cleaning crew came in and just emptied the trash, but left all the old food from the evening before in the room, making it smell. Yes, I could have called for room service to come back, but that is not the point. There was no fridge in the room to keep anything cold, so why would you leave dinner from the night before in our room? I hope they weren't expecting us to eat the food from the night before, which would have been full of bacteria and bad to eat.
After checking out, no one has reached out to me since it was my name on the reservation, asking or checking on either of us.
I hope that management becomes better at this location.
