Golden Nugget Pancake House

I went to this golden nugget on Easter Sunday because it was one of the only restaurants open. The waitresses and staff were very nice and hospitable, and the atmosphere at the diner is very old-school, in an endearing way. I ended up getting a skillet. The food was above average, but honestly not my favorite skillet. The potatoes just didn’t have the right texture or seem to be cooked in the way that other skillets I’ve had were cooked. And the side was either toast or a biscuit. I ended up getting the biscuit and it was pretty dry and didn’t come with any sauce or anything. So the food left something to be desired at least for what I ordered, but it was a good experience overall.

The food was pretty good but what made it better was our waitress, Linda. She was attentive, friendly and very welcoming. She was patient with my sister and I, even though we took a while placing our orders. It was our first time there but it was a good experience. I will definitely go again.

If you are looking for a delicious old fashion styled pancake house I suggest giving Golden Nugget a try. I have driven past this place for years until finally coming in for a post gym breakfast with my girlfriend. We ordered the pancakes, turkey sausage, sunny side up eggs, sausage links, scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy. The portions were perfect and the food was phenomenal. The food took a little while to come since it was busy. But it was well worth it. I can’t wait to come back again.

Went to go eat at 3am after a night out on the town. This Golden Nugget is open 24hrs. To my surprise we were not the only ones eating this early as the place was filled with a good crowd. Good food and it came out of the kitchen super fast. Their parking lot of tiny so I can imagine during regular breakfast rush there probably no where to park. There's literally only like 8 parking slots in an angle lot. Good luck on street parking because it's a busy street and some locations you'll have to pay a parking meter.

The server Linda was friendly and hospitable. She engaged me in conversation and recommended a meal, as it was my first time at the restaurant. The meal, a chicken alfredo and chicken cutlets was good and filled me up.

Golden Nugget is open 24 hours a day. You can go anytime and have breakfast. Plenty of seating but parking is horrible. The parking lot is small and in angle literally only enough for about 8 cars. So if you go during a food rush your not going to get parking and will have to pay street parking or find a place where there's no meters to park free.

Lasting idea we took the drive from the joliet area. Food was great, servie was great. The place over was good. It was a late night snacl/dinner. It was worth the hour drive.

I went here on a whim one day - totally blown away. Now I come back at least once a month. From breakfast to steakhouse dinners and fajitas in between - they do it all FLAWLESSLY. Exceptional flavor, always cooked to perfection and served up by kind staff. 10/10 establishment - go support Golden Nugget!
