Good atmosphere. Waiter couldn’t be more kind excellent service. Food was good. Got coconut Belgian waffles with chicken & was good the chicken could’ve hade a bit more flavor but can’t complain. Omelets are great here. Hot chocolate with whip cream was also good but a bit too sweet. Overall not bad I am satisfied giving the food 4/5 stars. Thanks Golden Nugget it was a pleasure dining in. :)

Prices are a bit high. Separate credit card fee. Handwritten bill with errors in total. Service can be slow. Lowest expected tip is 18%. Pancakes and waffles are delicious.

My family and I have been visiting this lovely place since I was a little kid, and it truly feels like a second home to us. The food is consistently delicious, but what really makes it special is Yaya. Her genuine kindness and warm service have been a cherished part of our experience over the years. Every visit is filled with love and comfort, thanks to her wonderful presence!

I visited Golden Nugget Pancake House with my family for lunch, and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience from start to finish. Our server seemed rushed and inattentive, barely listening as we placed our orders. We were given the wrong drinks, followed by food meant for another table. After waiting nearly 30 minutes, we finally received our food—only to realize that none of it was what we ordered. When we politely addressed the issue, the server responded with clear indifference and a poor attitude before removing the plates without offering a solution. We were so frustrated that we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. For a place that promotes itself as family-friendly, the service and overall experience were anything but. We will not be returning.

Food is good breakfast diner food. The waitresses are the star. Restaurant is clean and the prices competitive. Waitresses recognize me and always ask if I want a diet pepsi when I walk in the door.

I only ever come here because my daughter likes this place. Over priced food and it’s subpar. The server we got seemed to have an attitude. Will not be returning.

I will NOT come back. We ordered a chilli early about 10am That was as cold as my heart. Besides the fact that the waitress put about two handfuls of sharp cheddar on it and the cheese of course wouldn't even melt. The hashbrowns where under cooked. Very disappointed

Ordered the country breakfast along with waffle and smoked sausage with fried potatoes. Everything was delicious only draw back was that plates arrived a little later than everyone else.

Extremely dirty. Gnats flying everywhere. My coffee mug had a lipstick stain and my cutlery was so dirty. So sad to see this establishment become like this considering I came here as a child all the time. The coffee was very watered down, but I felt so bad complaining as I already had them change outta mug and silverware. Please do not come here! Also, when trying to pay, the servers were not attentive and the lady herself scoffed and asked us if anyone had bothered to even attend us. Very bad service.

Food is always on point. Fantastic service and excellent environment to sit and have Sunday brunch with family after church or after party with friends.

The food was ok, and the staff was friendly. But it was Soo expensive. 60$ plus tip for 2 breakfasts and a coffee. That's insane. Unfortunately will not be going back

Yummy pancakes and chilaquiles. Yup. I'm strange. We come here nearly every weekend. Very friendly staff. Quick and delicious. Kind of pricey for breakfast but you'll have leftovers too. Not sure why it's taken me so long to post review. Check them out when super hungry.

I came with my wife and 3 kids 8 and younger they charged me an 18 percentage of service fee plus tips so a family breakfast end it up costing almost 150 dls although kids got the breakfast special the waitress ended up with more than 30 dls in her pocket just for bringing the food we have to eat with dirty plates on the table coz Noone picked them up !

Wonderful food, generous serving. My friend is an aficionado of biscuits and gravy and he said "it's the best in Chicago" and at a reasonable price. Very welcoming clean.

Five Stars for this old school gem! There is such comfort in a place that never changes. The Golden Nugget has been serving the same tasty solid non-controversial (Classic) food for-- my entire life. Service is fast and reliably attentive considering the usually packed breakfast house. The charm of this spot? Great for lunch with Grandparents as well as for appetizers with those drunk silly friends who are back in town for just a few days. This is truly a go-to neighborhood Family Restaurant.

We came here for breakfast. I've always been turned off by their high prices. Just about everything is over $10. They do have weekday specials but who eats out for breakfast during the week? I finally decided to give them a try. First thing we get is a warm welcoming and walked us over to a table. Before we could sit they asked us if we were fling to want coffee. We received our coffee in seconds. Now that's one some service right there. Our waiter was great. Very friendly and on point throughout meal. My wife ordered their chilaquiles and I was craving biscuits & gravy. So after ordering, I now understand their pricing. These plates are huge and very filling. The chilaquiles came with rice and beans and were spicy. My biscuits & gravy tasted delicious. The biscuits were a little dry but huge and covered with plenty of country sausage gravy. They offer simple dishes here. I don't see myself coming often; but whenever I do decided to come back, I'll definitely bring a big appetite.

The ambience in golden nugget was very good and the food was fresh and delicious. The service was also very good and they were all very friendly.

I'm not sure if people are aware, but the coffee alone deserves a review. I can't get over how fresh and how delicious the coffee is at the two Golden Nugget locations I've visited. First off, you get an unlimited amount of refills for like $2 and some change. They have a bowl of coffee creamer samples at your table. There is French vanilla, hazelnut, half and half, and caramel macchiato. I feel like a little barista when I'm there. The food is always hot and delicious. I've ordered numerous items off the menu, and I've never been disappointed. Wait...I've never ordered lunch before, so I can't speak about the lunch specials. However, the breakfast is mouth watering. Okay, so, let's talk about costumer service. The waitresses are always so motherly. They're always like...what can I get you baby or honey? Do you want me to re-fill your cup? Do you need anything else? Sure, you may say..."but All waitresses says those things"....but it's All in the tone. The ladies here do not sound like robots or broken records when they are waiting on you. It feels like they've just started their shift, and they are more than happy to help you. My only complaint is that All of the locations are slightly outdated. However, I believe the old diner feel works for this company. I wonder if any remodeling will take away from the great coffee and awesome customer service. Also, this is an All Inclusive establishment. I'm not sure if it's apart of their business model, but everyone gets treated fairly and equally. At least it has been my experience over the years. You'll never feel out of place here.

Not much food for the price. For the food that i got it was good. A little on the expensive side for chicken and waffles when you only get a single waffle and 4 small to medium pieces of chicken. The place has a weird layout but i guess that didn't effect my experience. Overall, for this place to be in Chicago there are better places close by.

The service was awful. The only good thing about this visit is the food. Our waitress was the most difficult and disrespectful person I've ever had. We got an attitude and she was very cold. I asked for water and her response was "I'll bring it when I'm ready" she was nice to other tables, yet not with us. I felt very uncomfortable with the service and angry. Like I said the only positive was the food.

Their food is good quality but their prices are so astronomical you may as well go out for gourmet sushi instead. Nonetheless they have good coffee and have fresh donuts daily which are the only items on the menu that fall into an acceptable price range in my book. Would I return here to drink coffee and have a meet up with some friends over donuts, sure. But I definitely won't dine here!

Thisspot is literally around the corner from where I live and I have to say that every time we have breakfast there it feels familiar- their staff is friendly and their customer service is top notch which is a big plus for me. The servers order the food exactly how we want it and the well the pancakes are delicious!! I do recommend this particular golden, it's a good hang out spot on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

this place is disgusting do not go here if you can help it! the older lady was our server and she was extremely rude, walked away while i was talking multiple times, and we over heard her talking to a bus boy saying "get this sh*t off of my table", even the host had a nasty attitude. the whole place is bad energy. i ordered an omelette, the first time it came there was a huge egg shell right on top, i reordered it and it came back with the cheese not even melted and it was NASTY, i could not even eat it. the pancakes were actually good. but everything else was awful. my sister got the chicken fajita omelette and also could not eat it. it was an awful experience. they must be under new management because it actually used to be good. DO NOT EAT HERE.

We had an intimate birthday brunch and ordered a dozen pancakes. The fluffy pancakes made for a beautiful grazing table.

I like going here since its close to me. The food is pretty good ...always get the meat lovers skillet or the 4 deuces :) the staff is great, they keep the coffee coming which I love! If you come in sunday morning be prepared for a crazy crowd.

I'm giving 3 stars for the breakfast i had. French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon. I took my brother and he had a bacon burger which they served him on a sub bun and when asked for a hamburger bun they left his plate at the table and just got him a warm bun on anther plate and he had to switch it himself. Ridiculous. Then I ordered the chocolate pie which legit was just chocolate pudding on a tasteless crust. I don't know. Go to the one one on diversey and Pulaski. Seriously. If it was up to me id give only one star. Breakfast saved it.

My first time eating here today and it was so disappointing. The waitress, by the name of Linda, was very rude. My friend asked if her meal came with pancakes, and the waitress originally said yes. When the food was brought out, we didn't receive the pancakes so we just asked her again. She said "that she told us they didn't include them" and stormed off. I was already in shock, but it got worse. The waitress then proceeded to come back and before we could even ask for the check, she brought over a menu and told my friend "since you don't know how to read" and showed her the menu again.. that was very disrespectful and I felt so bad for my friend, I started to tell the waitress how unprofessional she was. I guess that got her more mad and she told us "we didn't know shit". The food was okay, but this service made me not even want to eat. We ended up paying right after and just leaving, I still can't believe that happened.

Wonderful costumer service. My family and I have been coming to this location since we moved into the area in 1994. The servers are extremely sweet. The cooks in the kitchen do such a fantastic job. I love their fried liver and onions. It's so good!!

I walked into golden nugget on Thursday 1/24/19 at 648PM. I have been coming to this location for 20+ years. i tend to come here with specific people, and currently with one person who lives down the street. As i am walking in i see the waitress that we usually see ( blonde Hispanic or Arab lady with an accent who is always in the weeds even if it is one guest) I tell my friend " your friend is working" and laugh. We walk in and sit down and i get a phone call from work about something that was needing my attention. At this moment Bianca the assistant manager walks up to me and says, unfortunately we can't serve you due to you walking out on your bill last time. I goffed, and said what? are you crazy, never. I told her this was golden nugget not maestros. like lets me serious. Then the person on the phone asked what happened and i said " this bitch just said i walked out on a bill at a golden nugget, a fucking golden nugget" ANYWHO so she tell me that she was going to serve me but take my license till we finished and paid. I said take my whole wallet i ain't going to walk out on a bill. she then tells me they have video evidence of me and my friend. So i ask to see it, then all of a sudden they don't have it right now because the manager isn't there. So she said she will not serve me due to me being upset and yelling at her. i walk up to the register and ask for their names. she tells me Bianca is the assistant manager. Rita the server who is accusing me who i over tip each time i go there. and then Raul is the manager. i told her i will be calling back because without evidence she shouldn't be causing issues, and they will be owing me an apology. then Rita the waitress proceeds to tell Bianca she can choose to believe me or her, and walks away and then acts out what happened that night. she said i ran stood by the register and ran. 1. there are always cops at that location 2. i'm fat as fuck and don't run. 3. i over tip her when she usually gets my order wrong because again she is always in the weeds even if there is one table. Ive never been treated so badly at a restaurant and let alone a golden nugget, that i always pay CC at and over tip, due to me being industry so i get people have bad days or whatever their issue is. letting this be known i will be calling the manager tomorrow, asking for the video evidence, then expecting an apology handwritten from each person involved along with the owner issuing a formal apology, and free food for life. After 20+ years of a valued patron, with receipts of how often i go there, they should be embarassed of how they their valued guests or i should said unvalued off one persons accusations.

Has a nice variety of breakfast options. Ordered the Ham and Cheese Omelet with pancakes. The omelet was good, but the pancakes were exceptional. Service was adequate.

I visited the Golden nugget which I normally do on the weekends when I come to the city and usually I get good service but this day the waitress was at a table a few feet away and I signaled and said to her that I was ready to order. While standing at the People's table she said well they were here first so I'll get to you. She eventually took my order and she brought my food she puts the bill down with it as if to say pay and you're done. I wanted to make sure that I wasn't overreacting so I watched as she brought others their food but didn't give them a bill at the onset of their meal. She never came back to ask if I needed anything, overall the worst experience I've there.

Nice place to have a casual breakfast, service is great and priced just right. Then portions are solid and they have many different items to choose from in the menu. Not to bad for a chain breakfast restaurant. It's been a while since I have visited golden nugget, but you can't go wrong with a visit. Love the pancakes! Perhaps I will visit them for brunch next time.. their lunch menus also looks appetizing... stay tuned!

Great place, home atmosphere, good food! I've used to go to the other locations when I was a little girl but never knew about this location until we moved nearby this location. I love their meat omelette and my brother along with my father love their turkey club sandwich; my mother on the other hand loves the grilled chicken that comes with mash potatoes and vegetables...Altogether, the food is great but pricy.

Why g-nugget? Why must you force me to give you 1 star? You are one block away from my house and are open 24 hours (again. They had a horrible system with inconvenient hours for a good two years after they changed management.) Well here are the reasons; 1. Your waitresses are bitches. I don't say this as a joke, they are honest to God the worst I've ever experienced. They sit on their ass and flirt with the cooks...that aren't handsome (I've checked). They're rude, they practically have to be begged for a glass of water and syrup for pancakes? Forget it! You'll have better luck wrestling the turd in their forever clogged toilets. 2. The food has slowly but surely gone down the same road as the turd but the only difference is that it made it to it's intended destination...DOWN the crapper. It's greasy (and not hole-in-the-wall-amazing diner greasy that tastes great when you eat it but makes you feel like shiite later) Just plain greasy. The eggs or anything fried for that matter make you have a mild heart attack so be prepared to bring the tums. 3. Lastly, the price is insane. $10 for an open-face turkey sandwich...FROM A DIVE-Y DINER? Are you kidding me? Not unless I'm hammered or don't wanna change out of my pj's do I visit this place. Five years ago this place would've received rave reviews from me but sadly things have changed for the worse. Oh and to be fair, they have ONE nice lady that takes care of the cash register. I wish she would wait tables 'cause she's a doll. :)

I moved out of state where they don't have Golden Nugget and recently came back to visit. Everything from the service to the food was horrible (besides the pancakes). The same waitress that has been there for years waited our table and she was plain rude. I don't think I've ever seen her smile. I literally dreaded the second I saw her walking towards our table. It's never a good experience with her and every person I talk to about it, has the same one. One of the orders was wrong, the food was not warm at all, and the sausage was half cooked. Definitely will not be coming back to this Golden Nugget when I'm in the area again.

I've been going to this establishment for about 16 years. The food is yummy and Ali our waitress for those 16yrs is wonderful. If you go there, make sure to sit at the booths to the right, Ali will take good care of you. The cream of chicken rice soup is da bomb... They serve that on Sundays. I enjoy eating here and look forward to it every other weekend. *Thumbs Up*

I don't know what it is about this specific location but any time I go I always leave wondering what happen to their food?!.. I recently came here with my good friend's younger sister and we came in for obviously Breakfast. The signs say seat yourself there isn't anyone there at least that Sunday morning. We sat down at what looked like to be an open table to only have a family snarl at me, people are sitting there yet no utensils and cups of water were on the table. To keep a good mood I just got up and went back to the front door to wait for "some type of direction" . Finally we were seated and ordered some hot chocolate ( that WAS one thing I used to love about this place) they serve it with a nice chocolate chip and whipped cream. The young "waitress/server" who seemed to be a dear in head lights approached 3 tables with OUR hot chocolate before reaching our table and slamming them and sliding them towards us like ok here u go. Frankly I was pissed off and had to contain myself from not wanting to have a few words with her. Our actual waitress came by I've experience her before and sometimes the service with her is a hit or miss. On Occasion she's questioned my friend if he even know what over easy eggs looked like, instead of changing the meal to his liking she gave him a hard time. BUT I will say this Sunday she was in better spirits. Now for the food, I usually have high standards for this place because about 5 years ago it was always good!! and My mother and I religiously went every Sunday. I ordered their eggs Benedict with some kinda of " roasted breakfast potatoes" I literally Picked at a few pieces and left my entire meal to take home. The potatoes had ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR AND WERE BURNT. The eggs Benedict just were bland just a complete disappointment the only thing I enjoyed was my toast with butter that got there after my food. I ordered Chocolate chip pancakes for her and they were just WAY too chocolatey and frankly kinda burnt and she did not enjoy them at all. Idk what's going on with this place but they need to step it up and maybe work on their customer service skills!

Allie, our server was very friendly and attentive in spite of the fact that on a Sunday morning at 10 a.m. the place was packed. The food as usual was delicious.

This is a solid breakfast place. The wait staff is great and the food is...typically diner quality. The problem though is that the Golden Nugget on Irving, near 90/94 is much better than this location. That includes food and clientele (when I say clientele, I mean rambunctious and just not fun to eat while there). If we can, we usually drive to that location, otherwise for a quick bite, this location is pretty solid. Obviously they have standard fare pancakes, but I like their Chicken Club, and their Chicken Parm sandwich is much better than you'd imagine!

My daughter loved her chocolate chip pancakes, my son ordered the fench toast and ate it all (he's a picky eater so that says alot!). My Hubs loves their pancakes and I had the chorizo eggs Benedict which was DELISH! Portions are huge so we had a ton of left overs for later! YUMMY! I would give it 5 stars but the service was almost non-existent and the decor is a bit outdated.

2 eggs 2 bacon's 2 sausage's 2 Pancakes and a side order of Hash Browns 1 Taco Salad 2 cokes = $30. Is it me or does this seem pricey? Bacon and Sausage seemed like it was from a budget store Taco Salad had very little Lettuce Cokes were $2.50 I'd give it one star but the Waitress was friendly Gave her 20% so now it was a $36. meal

I went there on a weds night and the Waitresses couldn't even speak English. I don't see myself going back in the future

They last time I dined here, the food was so bland and unappetizing. There were flies and knats everywhere. There was an infestation of knats outside all over the window. It was super cold in there too. I didn't like the atmosphere at all

This has been my go -to place since 1981. So I have known many of the staff.Fran and Alli are wonderful servers . They have been here many years. You can get a great modestly priced meal here. I bring my service animal with me and no one blinks an eye. Sadly, that has not been the case in supposedly better restaurants. French Toast is great there but I offer get the High Protein breakfast. GN Is a great neighborhood pace that I choose to drive 10 miles out of my way to still visit weekly.

This the rudes and most unfriendly! Nuggets i been in . the waitress take care of there group; the rest of us get serve when they have time.what with the price breakfast special is 222 for 7.99 we order that for my husband and myself and coffee'so how did our bill come out to 34.69 WTH wow how much is your coffee it ain't that good.

I really would like to give this restaurant 3 1/2 stars, but since that's not an option my gut tells me to round down in this particular case. It's not that I have anything bad to say about the restaurant, food, portion size or service, but on the filp side I can't see myself telling company from out of state to come with me for a really special breakfast. I only go to this restaurant for breakfast and I do that once a month so I can only speak to my breakfast experiences. When I click the 3 star rating it says "A-OK" and I think that really sums up the food quality, service, portion size, and cleanliness of the establishment. To me the 3 star rating is a good rating and I will continue to frequent this restaurant on a regular monthly basis, it's just not someplace that I would take anybody that I wanted to have a really memorable experience. I saw a previous review mentioning the servers in not to flattering of terminology. While I can't speak to their experience I can without reservation say that I've always found my servers to be friendly and attentive to my needs.

The Breakfast options are great. The Spaghetti on the other hand was very Plain, It tasted Like ragú with tomato chunks, would not recommend get some pancakes instead

It's always packed but I loooovvveee their fluffy pancakes and their curly fries and their omelettes!! I've had their chicken Alfredo too and it's not that bad!

Omg this place brings back memories of when I'd go partying nearby. .. you know last week just kidding. I liked that I weekends there are opened 24 hours and have offer more than just breakfast. Throughout the years, I've tried everything from the pancakes to the pasta plates. I've never been dissatisfied once. I also have always received great service from the servers. I'm a picky eater and they always find a way to convenience me and my special eating needs. Where else can you get a mashed potatoes with turkey gravy.

This place is always cold even in the winter time and they're food is very dry to the point where I almost have to get a couple of drinks so my mouth isn't really dry.
