Four generations of family got together for a great breakfast at this iconic restaurant. The menu is great for everyone. Plenty to choose from with large portions.

I tried this place after a early morning shopping trip near by and wanted breakfast. I tried the fried chicken sandwich, wich was delicious (2 breaded and fried breast chicken tenders on a cibatta bun). I also had the 1/2 order of the biscuit and gravy wich were tasty and satisfied that craving i was looking for.

This quaint diner was the best train experience I've had in decades. A must visit for the train. The food was just average the service was warm, polite and efficient. Just as for the train to run.

This place had some good breakfast with amazing prices. Fantastic service. Can’t wait to come back for dinner and try the fried chicken.💯💯

Great portion for great prices. $42 for two adults and a seven year old. The staff is smiley and happy. Service is fast. Our first time here and we will definitely come back.

First time here yesterday, had a decent sized portion breakfast and a great service experience here. Everyone working the shift on Sunday were great. I wanna say even the owner/manager walked out in the dinning area to ask how everyone and their meal/service was. Now that’s hospitality. The food was good, pretty neat to view all of the antique model trains there and one of the going around the track above head while you are seated. They have a nice sized menu to choose from. Even for being a location that has been around for many of years, the location was clean EVEN the restroom. I know we will go back. It seemed like a well frequented location.

My brother and I had breakfast at Golden Ox in Lodi and it did not disappoint. This place has been around a long time for a reason. We ordered the $9.99 breakfast special where you pick from four categories and end up with a huge, custom meal – such a great value and so tasty. I had a mushroom Omlet, fresh fruit, sausage , bacon and French toast. Such a great value! We’ll definitely be going back

I ordered the California Benedict through the drive-thru, which was absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly poached, layered with fresh avocado, and generously topped with hollandaise sauce. It was creamy, comforting, and just the right amount of indulgent. The hash browns underneath were crisp and golden, holding up beautifully under all that sauce! What really sets Golden Ox apart is the convenience, the charm, and the people. Stephanie is always very friendly and kind. She makes every visit feel welcoming and personal The drive-thru is such a thoughtful touch, which is rare for a diner. The whole setup gives off retro vibes with its railroad crossing sign and classic diner flair. Service was fast and super friendly, and everything was made fresh to order. So I really wanted to love this place and won't say I won't try it again but last night wasn't the best. This is from what I have been told a Lodi staple for decades. The inside decor and ambiance brings you back to a long ago diner feel vibe which I do like. You order at the counter and they bring you lr food to you. Service I will say was a 10 out of 10 the people working here are amazing and some of the friendliest staff I have encountered. What fell flat was the food. I had the club sandwich and my daughter had the pastrami sandwich. Both were extremely underwhelming and hers was so salty she couldn't even finish it. Plus the the fries and my onion rings had a somewhat funky flavor that maybe they needed to change the oil they were being fried in. My club was just ok nothing special and wasn't even that hot but the highlight was the what you could tell was the homemade turkey not store bought. Like I mentioned maybe an off night and will try again and the service is amazing and for sure a place that has been around for years. Plus last night it was very busy so they must be doing something right. The menu is also pretty incredible with choices galore. So for now a 3 star but we will see.

Just moved into town and was looking for a local breakfast restaurant. This little place doesn't look like much from the outside but so cute inside. If you are into trains then you need to visit. They have model trains all around the restaurant and if you're lucky you'll experience the train going around the inside perimeter. You order first then have a seat. We both had Omelettes with hash browns and toast. The portions are good size. Definitely get what you pay for. Their hash browns are crispy and so tasty but not greasy. I had a hot chocolate and it was really good. The table service was great. The staff would make sure people had their coffee filled and kept the booths and tables clean. You know it's good when the locals eat there. I look forward to going back for our next visit.

I've driven by this place so many times and never tried it. Finally stopped for breakfast and what a pleasant surprise! Great food at a reasonable price.

Lots of choices for comfort food. Doing a $10 build your own breakfast deal with choose your style of eggs, meat, potatoes ans bread. I had mushroom omelette, sausage links, hash brown potatoes and biscuit & gravity. Food tasty. Other good choices are burgers and sandwiches. Friendly service, clean and the place to go if you like trains.

I don't know how I never had been to this diner. My mistake! Love the decor with the trains inside. Had excellent service from my server. It was clean inside, including the bathrooms. I had the cabbage rolls with a side salad and Roll. It was excellent and the perfect dish on a chilly night. I forgot to take pics because I couldn't wait to eat. Can't wait to back and try some of their other menu items.

Well 1st time here and I must say probably best French dip i have ever had everything was quality including the bread was amazing will back soon to try other items on menu highly recommended seriously!!!

Lovely, exceptional workers like Britney, Roger, Emily, and Diana make this place special. Yeaterday, our table had delicious Cobb Salad, Greek Salad, Patty Melt, mashed potatoes, Minestrone Soup, ham, eggs, pancakes, and Lemon Blueberry Marscapone cake. Lots of sharing and leftovers. All 10/10!

Never going there again. This is what extra pastrami is and I paid extra for it. So embarrassing what a waste of $30.

A nice quaint diner in Lodi, efficient food and counter service, nice people, not too greasy. I got the fruit pancakes combo -- pancakes were nice and fluffy, bacon was crispy. Model trains run around the wall perimeter which is pretty cute. They also have a drive thru--was wondering personally how this works without fast food, but they seem pretty efficient w made to order food. Would maybe be an out of way destination if you like trains, but otherwise its an efficient local spot!

Our breakfast was preferred perfectly eggs cooked just the way I like them hashbrowns not too well done and the bacon was not burnt or overcooked service was exceptional refilled my coffee cup coming back to check to make sure everything was all right. The ambience I loved all the trains and the planes hanging from the ceiling. I would definitely go back and suggest it to anyone else ate there twice during my visit to Lodi.

Great food best service! The food is cooked perfectly and priced great for the portions. It's a wonderful, warm, and welcoming place that feels like you are going to your grandparent's home for breakfast. It's always clean inside which very appreciated! The staff are super friendly and make you feel like you are welcomed there and not just a number or source of revenue. We come here every time we are up to visit family, we never miss a chance and sometimes we'll come here almost every morning for breakfast and it never breaks budget. Great food! Great staff! Great place! 100 star review if I could somehow manage that!

The service was good. The dinner meals we had were really good. The only reason why 4/5 stars was because for one of the options of the potato I didn't know there was butter ice cream added to it.

Dropped in for lunch today for the first time. It's definitely a diner vibe going on there. Great music in the background and if you're into model trains this place will make you feel good. So the routine here is you order at the counter and then seat yourself in one of the many booths or few tables and wait for your meal to be served. The place is clean but a little thread worn. The menu is large with mostly diner type fare. I ordered the gyro plate with fries (crinkle cut!) and a soft drink. My wife ordered the chefs salad. The gyro was tasty and the fries were crispy delicious. My wife said her salad was fresh and testy. Overall it was a very good experience and this will be on our return list.

When you walk in you go directly to the cashier's, order your food than find a seat. The decor is quaint, the helpers are kind and pleasant. More of you serve yourself . This is a nice neighborhood place. I'd come by again. Breakfast was delicious, plenty to fill your stomach.

So, we grabbed lunch today and treated ourselves to burgers. I went for the avocado burger - yum! I added cheese and some awesome crispy onion rings (totally worth the extra cost!). The burger itself was amazing; fresh avocado, 1000 Island dressing, and all the usual additions (pickles, onions, tomato, lettuce) on the side if you wanted to add them. Seriously delicious, I'd definitely order it again! My friend got the Southwest BBQ burger, which came with onion rings and bacon - sounds amazing, right? They also had their homemade BBQ sauce on it. Same deal with the extra veggies on the side. They ordered a side salad with it, which was super fresh and simple with ranch dressing. Their menu is HUGE, so be prepared to spend a little time deciding what to get! But honestly, looking around at everyone else's food, it all looked fantastic. The place itself is really cute too - they've got trains and airplanes in display cases everywhere, and even a little train that goes around the restaurant! The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back!

Yummy burger with feta cheese, grilled onions, tomato, lettuce and cucumber with crunchy onion rings for the side. Service was pleasant. We asked them to run the train since we had our toddler with us. She loved it!!

Their chicken fried steak with grilled onions plate was massive. Everything on the menu looked really delicious. For me it's always gonna be chicken fried steak every time!

The food was terrible! Service was nice, the restaurant was clean. It's the food... is subpar at best, we didn't even eat most of ours. It was my first visit in a long time and will definitely be my last.

Wonderful fun place, service with smiles, superb short order cook, a very tasty diner menu we thoroughly enjoyed. Loved crunchy potatoes mixed with onions/green bell peppers, eggs not over cooked, large toast generously buttered - we try lots of diners & this is one of the best!

We have visited this restaurant 3 times. The interior decor has many collectible model trains and aircraft in display cases. The food is delicious and the service is quick as well as friendly. We decided to try the week day breakfast specials for $8.99. I had a Denver omelette with sausage links, French toast and a generous size fruit bowl. My wife had a mushroom omelette, bacon, country potatoes, 2 pancakes. There were lots of choices and large portions. We needed to take our leftovers home. Pretty good value. Where can one find a full breakfast for 2 people for $20? We will be back to try other menu items.

We are an older couple and I really did not want to cook f so we decided to order the "Thanksgiving dinner" and it is the best I ever had....oh my goodness. Let me tell you we were warming up the turkey breast on a small pot of hot water and the bag got burnt and some water got on the turkey we caught it on time and the turkey was delicious.... best I had ever had.... Thank you for all you do... I care.

There food is fresh and all homemade. I love their turkey club with daily roasted turkey.

Cute place and great staff. Menu is varied. If you like model trains, you will love the display cases, and you can ask them to run the train.

Just got breakfast for eggs over easy hashbrowns and sliced avocado fruit bowl instead of toast so delicious great portions

went again today with my daughters, was NOT disappointed, had breakfast and I'd had their hash browns last time, but this time the flavor was SOOO amazing. The daughters loved it too, it was their first time. I'll sure go back again soon for lunch. waitresses that kept checking on us were great!

I have lived in Lodi for 40 years, I less than half a mile from the, and I tried it for the first time today. It definitely will not be the last time! We got a couple of burgers with fries, fried mushrooms, and a piece of cake as well as a mango lime smoothie. The burgers were amazing, definitely the best in Lodi and I have had probably all of them. They make a Greek burger that has everything. I love about Mediterranean food on top of a burger, who does that? I loved it. It was amazing. I am definitely not going to be able to think of enough positive adjectives to review, I was pleasantly surprised, and the food. All of it was fantastic. My husband said the mushroom burger was fantastic as well. The fries were real fries, I even had ketchup. I never put ketchup on my fries, but these were that kind of fry. The fried mushrooms were a fun little appetizer. I can't tell you about the I'm too full from everything else and I haven't tried it but I can't tell you smoothie is amazing as well. We are already making plans to have and cabbage on 17 March surrounded by trains and planes.

I decided to stop by the Golden Ox Restaurant for lunch. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with French Fries and a Caribbean Smoothie. They were both so good! The entire meal was huge and filling. This is the place for eating delicious, comfort food at a great price. I recommend coming here.

By far my fav breakfast place, the service was pretty good, the ambience was nice and friendly.

First timer tips we learned this past week: you go in and seat yourself, order food at the counter and wait to be served. Coffee, water, and soft drinks are self serve but they do bring coffee and water around for refills. Food is good for the price, we enjoyed the 2 pancake 2 eggs 2 sausage/bacon and hashbrown plate, 3 ggs 1/4lb ham steak hash brown and toast plate, orange juice, and two coffees for $36. Cant beat that. All of the staff was very kind and attentive, we were checked on many times and offered plenty of refills. Now what we know what to expect, our next visit will be more pleasant I'm sure. 7/10 recommend.

We love coming here for breakfast. Very cozy and the staff are really friendly. Hubby likes to eat their Chicken Fried Steak. I normally will order their pancakes. The owner definitely loves trains. The restaurant has a display of different types of trains and there is a train track that goes around the restaurant. Very cool to watch the train go around throughout the restaurant.

I decided to have dinner at The Golden Ox tonight and it was really good. I ordered the stuffed cabbage which came with your choice of potato, or spaghetti and soup or salad. I chose the spaghetti and I had the soup which was chicken noodle soup today and really delicious. I tasted dill in the soup which was different but really good! The cabbage rolls (or stuffed cabbage - I'm not sure the exact name.) But it's one of my favorite dinner choices and I've ordered it several times. I enjoy the spaghetti with it since the cabbage rolls have a red sauce on top. Inside the cabbage is a mixture of ground beef and rice. Similar to a stuffed bell pepper. The restaurant is very relaxed and not formal at all. You order at the counter and then a waitress brings the food to your table. The food is prepared right behind the counter and you can see everything from the side salads being prepared all the way down the line to the grill and deep fryer. I like that everything is there infront of the customer. It feels like an old diner where everyone knows each other and it as if you're going to eat dinner at a friends or family members house. It's just comfortable and I really like that. Hopefully you will have a chance to eat here if you haven't yet. You will be impressed by the choices of food offered. The owner has dishes on the menu that are basically her recipes I feel. I can't say this is factual information because I wasn't told this but the dishes range from every day hamburgers and sandwiches or breakfast dishes and then there's also dishes like what I had this evening, cabbage rolls, and also dishes like lemon chicken, Salsberry steak, chicken Parmesan. There will be something that stands out for you and I'm sure you will like it.

Came here after my sons football game and had the best food and service. The owner Isabella is an absolute sweetheart. Food was hot and on point. We will absolutely be back again.

This diner is super cool! They have a drive thru which I've never seen in any diner before. We ate inside and they had a really cool train collection. Like a LOT of trains. Staff was nice and immediately helped us out when our order was missing our fries. The menu is super extensive, I was overwhelmed about what to order! Ended up ordering the Philly cheesesteak, garlic fries, and fish and chips. Will def come back and show my other family members how cool this place is.

Terrible. Fruit salad melon. Hard a rock w skin on n melon was unchewable inside out burger is two pieces of white bread w burnt cheese. A joke. Run away

Golden Ox has a lot of good diverse dishes, as well as breakfast all day. So there's something for everyone here. I love getting their spinach and feta omelette, as well as their eggplant parmesan. Big portions and fast service. I usually call in my order and it's ready by the time I pick it up. Check their web site for an up to date menu.

A friendly fun environment. I enjoyed a savory Reuben sandwich I was able to substitute salad for French fries, helpful to me as a diabetic. The food rocked. Service was great. I now have to try the breakfast at the Golden Ox!

They always have great food and service. The ambience is filled with old trains they even have one that works going around the ceiling.

We brought our daughter who is 19 months old to eat breakfast and ordered our food and sat at a table, 40 mins later we started to realize the restaurant was full of people eating who all arrived long after we had ordered. When we asked about our meals we were told it would be just a few minutes several times. Finally after two older gentleman sitting next to us asked where our food was I checked the counter and saw our food was not even being cooked. I looked around to see everyone around us was done eating and asked for a refund while trying to remain calm and collected... It was when we got a refund the staff took no responsibility in our ticket being lost, denied it was any fault of the restaurant that I lost it and left My family and I will NEVER eat at the golden ox ever again Very disappointed We felt totally disrespected and neglected

I am happy that this place is still open and has lasted during this pandemic! It's the closest to a homemade, hearty meal for dinner that you can find in town! I love their Greek Chicken with all the juices and veggies blending together, their soups are delicious and savory (minestrone is my fave) and their ribs are slathered with a sweet sauce with the meat falling off the bone! So tender!! 4 1/2 stars! Their drive thru window is great for contactless service. Ask for their specialty bread to be included (instead of the sliced french). The shaved beef sandwich is delicious too. Please visit the Ox and check it out for yourselves. Keep them around!

Love their chicken fried steak and eggs. Nice place to eat with an awesome train collection. I would recommend it to anybody. Also, there's other great stuff on the menu.

Ordered meat lover's omelete + country potatoes Omelete was bad bacon inside was well done country potatoes were mushy pancakes were small but ok Had no sugar free syrup.The price was too much for what you got looked like as kids plate.Won't go there again Tommy Lee
