"Look past the hole-in-the-wall exterior, and you'll find the best place to get a hot and fresh Jamaican patty cooked the right way, with a warm flaky crust and perfectly seasoned meat filling. A staple of the neighbourhood, Golden Patty (formerly Patty King) owns a soft spot in the hearts (and stomachs) of many native Torontonians. With a wide variety of patty flavours, you’ll be tempted to visit every time you roll through the neighbourhood. Besides patties, they have tasty rum fruit cake and ginger beer." - Charles Lim aka Ched

Great place for Jamaican patties! They’re pretty good, pretty solid. It’s nice and flaky, filling could be a little more flavourful but still good. I’ve seen a lot of reviews about this place and was excited to try it. It’s a really great snack for a great price of $2.49. Although if you spend below $4, you are charged $0.50 extra if you pay by card (credit or debit). The spicy beef isn’t spicy, so get the spicy over mild for more flavour.

I visited this place during my food walk. For just around $2.50, you can satisfy a small hunger. It was my first time trying Jamaican cuisine. I had a mild beef patty. The crust was crispy, and the beef filling had a gentle seasoning. It was delicious!

I probably should have ordered just the beef patty but decided to try their goat patty with coco bread. I love Jamaican beef patties. When I came in on a Monday in the afternoon there was a short line and it moved fast. 2 ladies behind the counter were taking orders. I liked the flavor of the goat. However there wasn't much filling. The pastry itself was just ok. The coco bread added nothing else except unnecessary carbs. Eaten together with the patty it tasted a bit dry. The coco bread was toasted. After a few bites, I just ate the patty by itself. Wish I could feed the birds with the coco bread but ended up tossing it in the trash.

The beef sandwich was delicious, a bit spicy but so tasty, I'd never tried anything like it before! It’s a great stop if you’re in Kensington Market.

Best patties in GTA As the name suggests, it's a Caribbean foods place. But it's also an awesome bakery. They have the most variety of patties anywhere. Shrimp, chicken, beef, available at different spicy levels. You won't find shrimp patties anywhere else. And the patty pastry is flaky like it should be, one bite and the pastry shell will be all over your lap. I've tried the curry rice dish, the goat meat was superb, tender, juicy, well seasoned. The curry sauce was dep and rich. The bean rice was excellent. For the roti dish, I tried curry chicken roti. Also excellent. This is huge. About 2 lbs of potato, chicken, and gravy. They do have other pastries. I have tried the sausage roll. Excellent. From their bakery, I've tried the meringue, their cookies, and bread loaf. The meringue was crunchy but also had a toffee-like texture, it wasn't too swret or too dull, but balanced. The cookies are huge. I've tried the choco chip, pecan, and M and M's cookies. Their cookies are also balanced, not too sweet like the low grade cookies sold at Tims. I came here one morning to get a bread loaf. The bread had just come out of the oven and the staff sliced it for me. The bread is nice and firm and is good for sandwiches, though tbh I find the starchy sweet flavour irrestible and eat the slices by themselves. Once toasted, it tastes even better. This is how bread should be, I'm glad this place exists The staff here are excellent. Very friendly, courteous, and responsive. Quality service. I've never had bad service here. The store is nice and tidy, though somewhat cozy inside. It's unassuming, and they focus on food quality. Nice artwork near the front door btw.

We had a wonderful experience at the Jamaican patty store in Kensington Market. It was a great hidden gem and a favorite amongst the locals. This place was highly recommended by my friend Jennifer P. It was also nice to see this place offers vegetarian options, giving a variety of choices for different preferences. We ordered the Vegetable Patty, Chickpea Patty, and the Curry Shrimp Patty. The vegetable patty had a subtle spiciness which we found quite exciting. The curried shrimp patty was also another favorite but we did wish they offered a bit more shrimp filling inside. Both of them were so savory, we were very impressed! The chickpea patty was our least favorite as it was underwhelming in flavor and surprisingly, texture. It was just okay. The efficiency and friendliness of the staff is definitely a plus. They accept both debit/charge cards and cash, with a preference for the latter. We went to a nearby coffee shop as a workaround for the lack of seating in the store. This way we were able to savor the delicious snacks and enjoy a warm beverage to wash it down. Should I find us back in Kensington Market, this place is definitely on our list to revisit! Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Food: 5/5

Came here for a quick bite on the weekend and place wasn’t too packed. The patties and jerk chicken meal were alright, I wouldn’t say it was the best I had but the food was delicious nevertheless. The small jerk chicken is worth it imo since it’s under $12 and they pack it with meat/veg/rice. The rice also has a slight hint of coconut flavor, which was nice surprise. Be warned that there is no seating and you’ll need find somewhere else to eat.

This gem is located in Kensington market! I love the patties here, but they also offer up different dishes and pastries! Can I just say at under $3/patty you can never go wrong! My favourites were definitely the jerk chicken patty in coco bread and the spicy beef patty!
