One of the best authentic Chinese Restaurants I have ever been to, since I moved to Seattle over 9 years ago. My best friend and his family showed me this hidden gem when I lived in Renton. This is truly a remakable place!!! Also as a vegetarian I am always impressed with how fresh and delicious Golden Peacocks food is. 😃 It truly is one of the best in the whole area. I would highly recommend it. Excellent customer service as well. God bless you all.

Google
Familiar family favorites were on point and made us all very happy! Soo delicious were the garlic chicken appetizer, special chow mein, sweet and sour pork, honey walnut prawns. Tried two new to us dishes- and want to add a new one to our list of favorites- the stir fried garlic green beans with fried tofu! Cocktails were yum. Golden Peacock and Honolulu Delight were passed around and enjoyed by all. Super cheerful staff kept our tea hot and checked in on us periodically!

Ordered to go. -the salt and pepper pork was not good, the flavors were not balanced and pork did not taste very fresh. We also got the Cantonese chow mein which had dry pork chunks and mushy rehydrated mushrooms. We will not return. Overall taste was lacking and it was still pricy almost $20 for each dish.

Google
Great food and staff. My only complaint is the chow mein with crispy noodles. Those noodles are too big. I've never seen chow mein with crispy noodles that big.

Liz Ayala

Google
We ordered chicken chow main and got a bowl of spaghetti and celery. We were told they had been making it the same way for 45 years. So, yeah, a holdover from the worst era of American food. I’m so sorry!

Google
Love the food. The servers were so nice and friendly. You will walk away with a satisfied appetite and a smile on your face. I love the food and the workers.

I've been going for years! Owners are so nice, food is delicious, service is wonderful and prices terrific! Delicious chinese/ american cuisine. Worth a visit!

It was exciting to share the 44th Anniversary Celebration with Richard and Glenna…. Their hospitality went way above the call of duty to ensure my experience was outstanding and I am grateful!! Congratulations on your tremendous success for all of these years — I will be here along this fabulous journey into the 2024 as I’ll be part of the community support moving you from ‘success’ to new levels of ‘significance!’ /Thank you!!/

Yelp
Honestly the worst 'Chinese food' we ever had. Flavorless, not spicy at all, not a single item ordered was what we expected. Even our soda was flat. The staff was very nice, the portions were good, and the food was hot. But..... not anything we would ever want again. It was a costly lesson of $100.00. Sorry to report this.

M L.

Yelp
We ordered the Jade meal. What we received was incredibly disappointing: cold, hard slices of pork topped with ketchup and sesame seeds, watered-down Dijon mustard, and egg rolls drenched in oil. The house special fried rice came with bits of pork and tiny shrimp but lacked flavor. The chow mein was essentially tomato sauce with vegetables--it literally tasted like Heinz ketchup mixed with diced tomato. The only dish with any flavor was the chicken with vegetables. When we asked if they served Asian-style green beans, the server--an Asian woman--replied, "That's too Asian," which was especially ironic considering this is supposed to be an Asian restaurant. Out of all the dishes, only one had any flavor. Save your time and money--unless you're a fan of Heinz ketchup chow mein, don't eat here.

Yelp
I was devastated when my favorite Chinese restaurant permanently closed. I ran into a neighbor who shared the same taste because I had seen his bright turquoise car at said restaurant. I asked him where he now went for tasty Chinese, and he instantly said, "The Golden Peacock." My husband and I made an order via DoorDash and it was delicious! After going to countless different Chinese restaurants with no luck, we thankfully now have our new Chinese Go-To! This food is wonderful. The owner is sweet and kind. The staff are great. I stopped in tonight to pick up a to-go order, and while I waited, I ordered one drink, which turned into two drinks, (which would've turned into 3-4 drinks had I not have had a husband waiting at home, because the Bartender Glenda, was so cool, personable, fun, and she made REALLY great drinks! I love this place and am so grateful to have found it!

Yelp
This place has been here for about 35 or more years and today was the first day I realized it existed. Boy what a find! This place is amazing! The food was incredible! I ordered The Ruby and it was a perfect amount for 2. Sadly I did not get to get to take pictures because this was a late night and what's open kind of scenario. But Holy heck this was perfectly cooked. The service! OMG! These people are so professional and fun and funny. They even gave us a hot towel at the end of our meal, my coffee was never empty, and they were punctual with the bill. The atmosphere was light and calming. Good soft music and the decor was so authentic. Come here. Eat here. Enjoy!

Sally E.

Yelp
it was terrible. The pork looked like it was really old. The egg roll was so greasy and had such a crust on it you could barely taste the filling inside. None of the other dishes tasted like you were eating Chinese food. They we extremely bland. I wouldn't recommend.
google avatar

Shay B.

Yelp
Food flavor was so bomb you literally do not have to add anything to it. No sauces, no salt and pepper etc. it was good the way that it was we ordered a Mongolian beef which had a lot of big pieces of meat. They did not skimp out like other restaurants do, and did not try to overwhelm it with onions or noodles. We also ordered the deep-fried prawns, which were perfectly crispy and large. We ordered two fried rice one without egg and one with egg and both were really good. I did add sweet-and-sour sauce not that it needed it. I just wanted to be extra. The only thing I will have to be honest I did not like was the cauliflower chicken. None of us did so we wasted it, but will definitely be back again and get all the other items. Me and my family had a great time here we truly felt like family. I love how they make you feel like that. I have a blended family. There was five of us three of them being kids. They did really well with the kids and did not make me feel bad for the mess that was made They made it seem as if it was fine which is always a great feeling. At the end, they provided us with some nice steam towels on a nice tray and we love the feeling of being clean after eating such a hearty meal. They also gave us fortune cookies with it that the kids also lived. Oh, how dare I forget, but the tea was the best we ever had literally all of us loved it, and we had two pots.

renee l.

Yelp
I had a horrible experience. The lemon chicken was really dry and tough. I ordered orange beef and received orange chicken. Which tasted OK but wasn't what I ordered. The chicken lo mein was OK, but nothing special. The pot stickers had a slight taste of seafood. AND it was expensive.

Yelp
We spent $48 (without tip) for take out of honey walnut prawns and sesame chicken and it was so bad we threw it away. The rice tasted like instant rice (the kind that comes in a box dehydrated and you rehydrate in 60 seconds in the microwave). It was laughably bad-the chicken tasted like frozen chicken strips that were thawed and deep fried. The shrimp was chewy and had some scary Mayo-based thick coating on it. I honestly I think this restaurant is a cover for underground gambling, prostitution, money laundering or drug smuggling. They let people smoke inside (no denying the smell), and it's dirty. It looks like the carpets haven't been replaced since 1972 in a bad way. Stop by for a laugh, but don't order anything but a bottled beer.
google avatar

Sheri H.

Yelp
No. This experience I had was very bad. Ordered delivery, and the dripping bag and cartons with the orange sauce poured into a to-go box, dripping out the bag, set the scene. Prices charged are different than online. Ordered a family meal. Shrimp was missing, substituted by a mystery fish - squid? - but tasted so badly, we couldn't tell. Pork fried rice tasted stale but was the best tasting item we had. $9.50 for a sliver of old, freezer burned pie. Vegetables with beef were ok, really small pieces of beef. Chicken and vegetables dish was basically chopped celery with a couple tiny chunks of carrot and about 1/4 of a chicken wing sliced up. Orange chicken tasted old. The sauce was ok. The eggrolls were double breaded. The cabbage had turned inside. Tasted awful. Stale fortune cookies rounded it out.

Jodee M.

Yelp
If I could rate this with no stars I would. The whole meal was so bad we threw it all away and had to go out for real edible food. Do yourself a favor avoid at all cost.

Crystal E.

Yelp
This place is has the most EXCELLENT Chinese food ever!!! Year after year, they have kept this business going strong with great staff and INCREDIBLY delicious food!!! The Saifoon and Mongolian Beef is absolutely perfectly delicious in every way as always, just like every other dish I've ordered!!! This place is always worth the drive from Olympia for me and I've been enjoying all the goodness there for over 30 years!!! Keep up the amazingness!!! Until next time, my tastebuds are already craving more, ha!!!

Yelp
This place is our go to restaurant for authentic Chinese food! The fried garlic chicken appetizer is very delicious. We tried the tofu dish and it was really good too! The staff are great and treat you like extended family!

Yelp
Cheap Chinese food. It was 40$ before tip for all this food. Great deal as of March 2023 as far as dining goes. The combo meals seemed like such a good deal and omg so much food! Soup was really good. Liked the sweet and sour chicken. Fried rice was good. Chow mein was good but wasn't hot? Did not like the beef, still can't put my finger on it. It did not blow me away at all but it's great for the price. I feel like with some slight changes, this could easily be somewhere I regularly go to. Inside is cute. Has NO clue there was a bar in there and I wish I would have done a lap in there because it looked like it was poppin in there. I had no idea Fairwood's locals were congregating at the Chinese food bar. The service was insanely fast. Got seated instantly and had tea and water a minute later. Food came out fast, maybe too fast! Our server was really sweet and funny.

Karen D.

Yelp
I wanted this to be a good place for Chinese food. I wish there was a way for the owner and cook to actually eat the food and see what is missing. Typical Chinese food should be flavorful with hints of sesame oil, oyster sauce, mirin and even garlic. Egg rolls can be really tasty when they are delicate and crispy not hard and wrapped so tight they are hard to eat. Also worrisome is the sweet and sour pork was fried so hard I was worried I would break a tooth. The BBQ pork was grey, not a typical red color. If there is dipping sauce for items why would you use Heinz Kethsup; how about at the very least sweet chili sauce, its yummy. I wasn't sure about the beef in vegetable dish. No texture or taste. The south end needs eatery's like yours. Find the magic for flavor and you will have a line out the door as everyone with your food type has gone out of business. Also to be good you have to charge more. Good food costs alot. Don't depend on your liquer sales to keep your business afloat. I want to come back; I'll look for the sign you have a new menu. Irene

Yelp
My family and I love Golden Peacock's food. But the experience we just had with our waitress made us not even want to eat, we literally left and didn't eat because of it. She had a very weird energy and vibe to her that made us feel very unwelcomed. Also their milk for my niece was spoiled. Do not recommend dining in. Also was talking about us with another waiter.

Ruth C.

Yelp
We at here when we first moved into Fairwood area between 10 and 15 years ago. Big mistake. No flavor, the fried rice was burned...just an overall bad experience. Today I was Jonesing for some hot and sour soup, but our go to restaurant had been slipping On their soup...still okay but not "gotta have it" great. So we thought let's give Golden Peacock a shot. It's been years maybe it's improved. Nope. $15 for a container of pale, vinegar broth like soup.

Amy T.

Yelp
Foods were trash and the waitress messed up on the order twice. Messed up even after having a conversation about it and we thought she literally had it down accurately.

Luis R.

Yelp
Will not be disappointed!!! Absolutely amazing!!! Authentic food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Outstanding service!!!

Yelp
I love this restaurant (always do Takeout), BUT I always develop ringing in the ears (Tinnitus)for days after eating their food. I have to take Oral Chelation capsules with Mineral Drops to make it stop. This never happens with OTHER Asian restaurants. Heavy metal toxicity can cause Tinnitus. It's so loud I can barely sleep -- indicating HIGH toxicity. MERCURY is a heavy toxic metal that can cause Tinnitus. It is found in poorly sourced fish products. I don't even order fish dishes, but they must be cooked in a wok that has cooked highly toxic mercury-containing fish which left a residue on the cookware, which contaminates the non-fish dishes. I wonder what would happen if I ever DID order a fish dish OR one containing cheap mercury-containing fish sauce? They seriously need to look at where they're getting their cheap, toxic high mercury level fish products, and stop being greedy and buy safe fish products! Such a SHAME, bc their cooks are great. I just can't eat their food again. Google mercury in cheap, poorly sourced fish and TINNITUS. Mercury ACCUMULATES in the body and causes multiple types of damage to the body ... not JUST Tinnitus.

Yelp
So disappointing!!! The mixed tidbit was a waste--see the pics of what came in the box. The beef mushroom noodles was tasty but literally was a soup. They delivered to our hotel and sent no utensils even though we requested them. The pics are what was in the box of the mixed tidbit....

Angel C.

Yelp
The house special fried rice is NOT SPECIAL AT ALL. There was one shrimp that is smaller than a dime and the other meet is not existent. I threw way the food and ordered from another restaurant.
google avatar

Jimi G.

Yelp
The absolute worst $50 I've ever spent. Processed chicken and the almond gravy was orange. The sweet and sour pork was hard as bricks. Literally. The sweet and sour sauce tasted like thickened apple cider vinegar. Even the pork was the wrong color. It was grey and all the edges were cut off. Hmmm. Wonder why? Sadly my quest for GOOD Chinese food grows longer. As well as the list of places I will never eat again. Boo.

Diane L.

Yelp
We attended a 93rd birthday party. Old school dishes was served family style. Great memories of the classic sweet and sour chicken and pork fried rice. Food did not disappoint. It was a great trip down memory lane. This place is a gem in the neighborhood.

Shelli A.

Yelp
I've had several people tell me this was their favorite Chinese restaurant in the area, so I wanted to try it. They were running a BOGO free pork fried rice special on UberEats so I ordered one, to get one free. The price of one is $17. You'll see in the pics what I received. I'm not sure if the one container had two orders inside, and they didn't bother to explain it. If it weren't for the BOGO, there's no way I would have paid $35 for one container of that size. I used the pick up option and didn't open the bag until I got home. Also, the rice itself is sad and bland looking. The pork is cut into tiny little pieces and is barely even there. Ugh. Disappointing. On the plus side, when I added seasoning sauce and chili oil to it, the taste was pretty good.
google avatar

Anon Y.

Yelp
Be warned this is not real quality Chinese food. A lot of fried and bland food. You're better off going to Panda Express.
google avatar

Ray V.

Yelp
Ok- to be fair, I'm not a huge Chinese food connoisseur, so it's a bit challenging to give good reviews. With that said I can, at the very least, share my experience. We came here in a large family group for my dad's birthday. When asked where he would like to go, he name of one of two places, this being his first choice. That had to be a gleaming endorsement, right? Hehe... well... we ordered a Family style Dinner. Diamond to be exact, which included the Soup of the Day (egg noodle), BBQ Pork, Egg Roll, Beef Tomato Chow Mein, Sauteed chicken with mushroom, Deep-Fried Prawns, Almond Chicken, and Special Fired rice. The BBQ pork was decent but to be honest, I found the almond chicken to look and feel undercooked, the deep fried prawns heavily breaded and super greasy. The chow mein was as to be expected, and like I said, Chinese style isn't really my thing. However, what I will tell you, is that the staff was INCREDIBLE!! They not only were very attentive, and worked with haste, they also gave us an amazing deal on the prices. We came in with about 14 of us, and instead of charging $18.50 each, they knocked the bill down considerably... and I thank them for that. This place has been around for decades. So all in all, I wasn't a huge fan of the food, but the wait staff was incredible. As always, enjoy and Happy Eating!

Shannon D.

Yelp
Terrible. Ordered 8 dishes for a crowd and these dishes were embarrassing-- over sauced, greasy, gloopy, congealed. And they only sent one rice, which was the most edible part. Flavor signature across all dishes was either overly sweet, or bland. Sesame chicken is all breading and soggy and tiny, tough cuts of meat. Green beans seemed boiled to mush--not bright and fresh like something truly made to order in a Wok. All noodles and veg overdone mush. The prices for these dishes was pretty expensive for very low quality food that made us wonder what we were actually eating, and where/how it was prepared. We did not feel confidence in quality or cleanliness. We would not order again.

Yelp
Put a google review and no response now I'm doing a Yelp. I think y'all were really playing with my hunger when you sent me this "chow mein" it still makes me upset 2 weeks later because this is noT EVEN close! Don't be lazy cuz it was the end of your shift and you just put some soggy celery and onions in a box when it was supposed to be chicken chow mein!

H B.

Yelp
The won ton soup was very plain. We boxed it up and will add our own spices to make it tasty The salt and pepper tofu was ok. Overall the food is meh and the staff, were well below average. I know that they have that "sassy server" who is trying to be a character, ok whatever. We had a different, server who was friendly but pretty much invisible. This unavailabler server let us know that the happy hour drink was "well drinks only" as we ASKED specifically about happy hour options. So that's what I ordered but she charged full price ($19 for a double well drink, good god). Yes they were busy, we know the drill and are accustomed to waiting but this was beyond the norm. She was so MIA that I had to pick up my own drink from the bar and I had to take the bill up to the cashier because she vanished for 30 minutes after dropping it off and we had to be somewhere. They wouldn't budge on the 1 drink ordered during happy hour. The manager stated, "I don't know what you and your server talked about but that's only for people in the lounge". Wowl I really hate being lied to and then not being believed. I have lived in Fairwood all my life. Our family took all our exchange students up to Golden Peacock in the good ol days. It's just a run of the mill, over priced goofball place now. My Thai husband just walked by as I'm writing this and said, "say the svc s*** on there" hahah

Rick J.

Yelp
The owners are great. The food is very good. Old school Chinese food. Reminds me of when my parents ordered Chinese as a child.
google avatar

April B.

Yelp
This was by far the worst Chinese food experience I have ever had. We paid $40 for the family meal and threw it all away. Bbq pork is supposed to be red around the edges, the entire piece of pork was grey and looked funny. We didn't eat it. The beef with vegetables - again the meat looked funny, my husband took a bite and literally gagged. Almond chicken - this was not your standard brown gravy almond chicken, the gravy was red and had a weird taste. The only decent part of the meal was the chow mein and that wasn't even very good. So disappointing! They definitely need a new chef that knows what they are doing.

Yelp
Food reminds me of the old International district food. Old Tai Tung, Hong Kong, silver Dragon, China Gate, just to name a few. Very tasty. I'm impressed. I highly recommend Golden Pheacock. I remember the Tse family owned this place, I dont know if they still do. I WILL BE BACK. I order on Uber Eats..... Keep up the flavor.... tomato beef CM was the bomb. It taste like back in the good old days. Pork fried rice, mongolia beef, green beans bulk bean sauce very good. It all had flavour.
google avatar

Yelp
The service was great, The food was hot and delicious, I highly recommended this restaurant

Yelp
I had high hopes but highly disappointed, ordered egg rolls, sesame chicken and Singapore noodle's price came to just over $50.00 for the 3 dishes. Egg rolls were void of any meat and mostly consistent of chewy bean sprouts. Singapore noodles lacked curry flavoring, the sesame chicken was ok but reminded me of almonds chicken with a side of sauce and sesame seeds. Still searching for good Chinese food on the east side.

Shirley M.

Yelp
We ordered the diamond dinner for 3 takeout tonight. We have eaten here for years both in restaurant and takeout. There food tonight was the worst Chinese food we have ever eaten. Safeway chinese food tastes much better than this food did. It was very bland. The sauce for the Almond fried chicken was very bland, The amount of fried rice was normally the amount we take home for leftovers, nowhere the amount for 3 people if dining in the restaurant. The Almond chicken was the same as the fried rice portions, and the chicken was very dry and no flavor. We were told it would be ready in 20 minutes, and arrived about 15 minutes. We put the food into an insulated bag, by the time we got home it was ice cold. Wondering if we got the leftovers or scrapings of customers in the restaurant. They charged the full amount, and you don't get any soup unless you bring your own containers, which we did but only received enough soup for 1 bowl instead of 3 standard size in the restaurant. The egg rolls were ice cold, and the BBQ Pork serving for 3 people was only about 1/4 of what we should have got for 3 servings. The price for 3 Diamond Dinner online said $18.50 each x 3 = $55.50 x 10.1% tax = $61.11 The price we were charged $67.71 - $61.11 = $6.60 overcharged. We were charged 18% instead of 10.1%. Then had the nerve to give us receipt to sign, with a line for a tip. Also I would never order the clams. The tank that contained the clams was very dirty. My husband grew up with an uncle who raised clams and oysters as a commercial business. From the looks of the clams they had been in there for a while. If I could give them a minus score I would. This is the last time we will ever dine in or takeout food from this Restaurant. Save your money go to Safeway you will be much happier.

Yelp
It has been 15 plus years since I have been here and I remember it being fabulous. It was still good though. It looks like I remembered and the service is still good.
google avatar

Denise W.

Yelp
This is our family favorite for Chinese food. We have been eating here for over 10 years and rarely disappointed. Our family favorite is their tomato beef chow mein. I tried other places after moving to Maple Valley but soon found we missed their great food and drive to pick it up.
google avatar

Jim B.

Yelp
I've rediscovered Golden Peacock recently and discovered I really like it. We always just eat in the bar which is a little dingy and divey with a regular crown that pulls up to the tiny bar. However the place has a ton of character and 2 TV's which is all I need. The food is extremely Americanized from a Chinese Food standpoint which is fitting for the crowd there and the area where the restauarant resides. And quite frankly food is great. Very unique as well. Their fried won tons and chicken wings are unlike any I've had at any restaurant and their entrees are huge. I've never ordered something I didn't like. Will be a regular customer here. Again.

Vickie C.

Yelp
Ordered online and their prices have gone WAY up. Beware, the prices they charge are quite a bit more than their menu posted online. And, I didn't order through a delivery app. I'll think twice before ordering here again. Food is the same as always so that is at least good!

Mercedes M.

Yelp
Simply not good. I would retitle a lot of their dishes, like their almond chocken, "celery with a small bite of chicken and the occasional almond". Everything had lots of celery in it. Don't get me wrong...I like cleft. But when I'm paying high prices for Chinese dishes, I want something with flavor, variety. This is the type of place you order from as a last resort.
google avatar

Chris Y.

Yelp
Picked up food here last Saturday. Extremely disappointed. I used to eat here as a kid and loved it. Thought I would try again after all these years. Food is expensive for not a lot of food. We spent $80 for four entrees and only received one small side of steamed rice. I ate almond chicken was not very flavorful. Unfortunately I will not be going back. Back to Safeway for Chinese Food.
google avatar

Dustin K.

Yelp
Not anywhere I would order from again. Presentation of the food was abysmal at best. Everything was extremely greasy and watery. Much like some of the reviews I've seen here, these are my issues/complaints: Chow mein was mostly sliced onion and celery. Very greasy and unsatisfying. The chicken fried rice had no chicken in it, and the rice was incredibly dry. The general Tso chicken was swimming in sauch, heavily breaded, fried and devoid of flavor. The beef and broccoli we ordered had beef that was of a grey color, and very overcooked broccoli. Almost to the point of puree consistency. The crab rangoons were very flat and loaded with almost all imitation crab, and the container of sauce sent was in a small Chinese takeout container. Needless to say, it dripped and spilled everywhere. I would not order from here again. I normally am a pretty good judge of Chinese and try to give a restaurant a second chance, but I can't do it here. In addition to all of that ($153 to be exact) no refund would be given. No credit or new food. So, goodbye Golden Peacock. You will not be missed.
google avatar

Dale R.

Yelp
We always enjoy the food however, if you order On-Line and pick it up it is outrageously over-priced! Each item you order is around $8.00 more for takeout than if you went to the restaurant to dine. I can understand a little bit of an up-charge for the boxes, even though you can also get those at the restaurant for free, BUT $30 more for On-Line ordering? Probably our last time.

Yelp
Hands down the WORSE Chinese food I've ever eaten! Period. Ever!!! Almost the entire $90+ meal ended up getting thrown away which we never do in my home. I can't even begin to describe everything wrong with the food we attempted to eat tonight. The chow mein was burnt and about 75% shredded celery. The fried rice has pieces of lunch meat ham, tomatoes, and iceberg lettuce chopped up in it (???). The egg rolls were the biggest affront to the miracle that is an egg roll I've ever seen! It looked like a deep fried Twinkie, but beneath that behemoth of triple-the-normal-amount-of-deep-fried-batter, it tasted like rancid, sour, spoiled garbage (I'm not exaggerating). The Mongolian beef was largely fatty pieces of steak filled with tendons and chewy parts. I can't describe the rest because reliving this nightmare through the keyboard is making me sick to my stomach again. I love Chinese food. In my lifetime, I've had the gamut between out of this world all the way down to mediocre at best. But this is a mockery of everything that is wonderful about Chinese-American food. It's as if aliens were told what Chinese food is and then had to replicate the menu using only spoiled ingredients and their limited knowledge of how human taste buds work. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
I come here every once in a while as it is the only Chinese restaurant in the area that offers BBQ pork noodle soup. We tried a Door Dash order with Golden Peacock and the delivery came within almost 20 minutes. Very fast!! As usual the food was great. We ordered Wonton Soup, BBQ Pork Noodle soup, Combination Lo Mein and Crab Rangoon. Everything was hot and fresh when delivered and the crab rangoon was amazing! Definitely will have some good leftovers.

Yelp
The Chinese food of my childhood! Love, love love. Quality of food is great, and the menu has ALL the wonderful dishes we would order when dining out during my childhood-- almond sub gum chicken, egg fu young, beef chow yuk, almond fried chicken; chow fun noodles, etc. Service is very good. The atmosphere is nothing super special, but it is the only restaurant in Fairwood that does not make me want to run away! Clean and comfortable. Great menu with all the Cantonese faves (they do have a couple Szechuan and Hunan dishes as well); cocktails, beer and wine. I love that they offer steaming hot hand towels at the end of your meal. Lots of parking in front. I'd eat here any day....

Yelp
Worst Chinese restaurant I've ever ate (take out). Sweet and sour chicken convicted of just that; chicken and sweet and sour sauce. No pineapple, peppers, or tomatoes. The egg rolls were dipped in batter and deep fried. Very little meat, mostly veggies. Golden Peacock fried rice had microscopic meat. Rice included in sweet and sour was very tiny, about 1/3 or 1/4 of what I'm used to. Crab region was small but passable. Two orders of egg rolls more than $27. Whole meal for two was more than $80 with tax. Pricey for the quality and quanity. Wouldn't have minded the price so much if the food had been good. Edible but not recommended.

Yelp
Amazing service! Doordash forgot out mongolian beef and the resteraunt replaced it at no cost, very quickly. And it wasn't even the resteraunts fault, that's how good they are to their customers! Also, their honey walnut shrimp blew my mind with how good it was. The shrimp were do big, and the sauce so tasty. Definitly coming back for the shrimp alone. Recommended!

Yelp
Food was eh. We got the golden special and another order of chicken and the amount of food was underwhelming for $100. Food was bland, spring rolls were mostly batter and lacking taste. Small portions and everything just seemed questionable. A scallop dish was included in the special and only had two pieces of meat. Also, shrimp in both the noodles and rice that was not mentioned. Would Not order again.
