How Mahalia Jackson Imagined Fried Chicken as a Path to Black Success | Eater
"Launched by James Brown as an effort in Black wealth creation and job training, this fried-chicken chain framed the dish as a Black culinary tradition that Black entrepreneurs should profit from; it was both a cultural and political statement, but like other Black-owned ventures of the era it faced investor losses and systemic barriers—such as redlining, economic disinvestment, and neighborhood destabilization—that undermined its commercial success." - Madeleine Davies
Megan Thee Stallion and Fast Food’s Pursuit of Black Buy-In
"A fast-food chain launched by a legendary soul musician in the late 1960s–1970s that attempted to leverage celebrity status for economic opportunity but ultimately did not endure, contributing to the historical pattern of short-lived celebrity-backed restaurant ventures." - Jordan Taliha McDonald
I arrived on Sunday at 9 AM. The parking lot isn't big, but there's enough space to turn around and park right by the door, even for a large truck. The check-in door is located in the corner to the left of door number 8. Before checking in, you can park along the road before the turn to the warehouse. Uploading took around 2 hours

Quick any easy check in I recommend if you come in early call the number at the door so they can give you a dock door. So parking was a bit advance, would recommend being as careful as possible it’s a tight place. That what she said!!

Our company has made deliveries to this warehouse several times now. Even though we make an appointment before we go and THEY confirm a time, usually the driver has to wait 1 - 2 hours before we can get hold of anyone to unload them. No one answers their emails or the phone when I called them multiple times. The drivers have other deliveries to make, and it makes them late for the rest of the day. Their customer service is not good!

TRUCKERS park on Wilson Ave before the gate and call them to open the gate for you or they will give you password to open the gate.
You can get it to yard only trough Wilson Ave. Not too big yard. I don’t think they work by appointment, but waiting time is around 2 hours.

ATTENTION TRUCK DRIVERS!!!!
Dry load checked in 730 am and now it’s 1248 still not empty. They will offload other trucks but not u if u have more than 10 pallets. If I try to talk to lady at shipping office she will give u a nasty attitude and keel lying and when they gonna start. Never coming back
