Golden Pork - Review - Makiki - Oahu - The Infatuation

"Prepare to slurp a lot of caramel-colored tonkotsu broth at Golden Pork. The Makiki ramen spot serves a bunch of different Japanese dishes, like donburi and takoyaki, but you’re here to drink your dinner and become 50% char siu. The tsukemen is also well worth your time—the broth coats the perfectly chewy noodles like a savory wetsuit. Come here for an easy weeknight dinner that requires zero advance planning." - Julia Chen

The first meal I wanted after landing in Honolulu was a great bowl of ramen and Golden Pork delivered! I ordered the Black Garlic Tsukemen which was savory and rich. My wife ordered the original Tonkotsu ramen and the broth was porky and satisfying. The Grilled Mackerel appetizer was also delicious. Overall I walked out of this place full and happy.

Google
Golden Pork Ramen is hands down one of the best spots in Oahu for an authentic yet affordable Japanese ramen experience. I tried all three of their signature ramen, and each one was amazing! My personal favorite was the Black Garlic Ramen—the rich, deep flavor and perfectly cooked noodles made it unforgettable. The service is great, and the atmosphere is cozy, making it a must-visit for ramen lovers. Plus, if you’re a regular, don’t forget to ask for their reward stamp card—10 visits earn you a free bowl of ramen! Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving quality ramen in Honolulu.

I came here for the first time two years ago and I’m happy to say the quality is just as good as I remember. This is my go-to ramen spot and it never fails to hit the spot. The broth is flavorful, the noodles are always perfect, and everything just comes together so well. Sanreen was our waitress and she was amazing! Super attentive, kind, and really helpful. She made sure we had everything we needed and checked in at just the right times. Service like that makes a big difference. Can’t wait to come back again!

Google
Some restaurants try to do it all but in my opinion, it's the ones that stick to one thing and one thing only that really stand out. Golden Pork Tonkotsu Ramen Bar stands on the peak of Hawaiian Tonkotsu ramen. They have three different broths (original, spicy miso, black garlic), some different sides, appeitzers, rice dishes, but that's about it. This is a place that has honed their craft and you can really tell. The broth was incredible. The noodles were firm and chewy. Standard toppings and garnishes. All in all, if you want good tonkotsu, look no further. Food is on the cheaper side though parking is a little difficult. There is a free lot but it's a tight squeeze.

Aloha; this place is great from unreal ramen to the fried chicken you can’t get more authentic. Service is amazing and you get that old Japan feel. This is a must if you enjoy amazing ramen and pupus

Google
We came here twice during our 10 day trip in Hawaii. Delicious ramen / tsukemen - the thick noodles are the perfect soft and chewy. Price is reasonable especially during happy hour. And friendly staff. Also recommend the mackerel. There may be a line so get here early. Definitely worth it to uber from Waikiki.

Fantastic ramen and gyoza 🥟! Definitely worth going back. Small restaurant with limited seating. Love the spicy ramen! Quick, friendly service.

Yelp
5 stars because it's one of few ramen shops my family of four agrees on. The ramen is consistently good. It comes out super hot (not always the case with some ramen places). They have a point care system which is nice. Parking is a bit tough. Find parking on the street a bit away and walk. It's usually cool in the restaurant and place is clean.

Yelp
Loveee their noodles and the spicy ramen is super good. Definitely one of my top ramen places in Honolulu. My only complaint is the portion is so teenyyy. You definitely need to add more noodles. Normally I can barely finish a standard bowl of ramen, but this one I devoured so quick. Parking is hard to find it's a tinyyyy entry way right before the restaurant - the sign should be bigger. Stalls are super limited and tight. Someone parked their white van next to my car and pushed my side mirror in lmao. Odd!

Yelp
As a self-proclaimed Hakata ramen connoisseur, I'm always on the hunt for a good bowl of tonkotsu--and Golden Pork exceeded my expectations for a ramen place not in Japan. Their Classic Tonkotsu Ramen was phenomenal. The broth was rich with flavor yet surprisingly light--not overly fatty or heavy. It instantly transported us back to Japan. Honestly, few ramen spots in Hawaii achieve that level of authenticity. This was even better than some well-known ramen joints we've tried in LA and NYC. We also ordered the golden pork tsukemen dipping noodles. They were tasty and fun to eat, but the classic ramen still stole the show for us. We upgraded one bowl to include the chashu rice bowl sauce for an extra $5--yummy, but not the best chashu rice bowl we've had. For our toddler, we ordered some edamame--cooked well, nothing special, but she liked it. Service was also great. The waitress brought a high chair, a small spoon, and a plastic bowl without us even needing to ask. That level of thoughtfulness goes a long way for us parents dining out. Bonus points for the self-serve water pitcher at the table. I like being able to get however much what I want when I want! All in all, if I could give this place 6 stars, I would. If you're craving ramen in Honolulu, run--don't walk--to Golden Pork.

Yelp
My first review for Golden Pork was in 2016 and I am happy to report that after nine years, I still love this place! I will never say no if a friend suggests coming here for ramen haha. Golden Pork is celebrating its 10th year anniversary today, tomorrow, and Thursday (3/25-3/27) with great deals! You get 3 stamps per ramen or tsukemen (dine-in only) and a coupon for free gyoza, 99 cents beer or free soft drink (use by 5/31) per group. In addition, each day also has a special deal. Today's was free extra noodles (half order) per ramen or tsukemen. See photo for the other deals. I got their spicy red tsukemen, level 1 and an order of gyoza. The tsukemen is so excellent here. You can decide how first you want the noodles and don't forget to ask for dashi to add to your tsukemen broth after you finish dipping all your noodles! The gyoza was fantastic too. Happy 10th anniversary, Golden Pork! I wish you many more decades of success!

Yelp
A little hole in the wall ramen restaurant, parking is on the street, they don't do reservations but I totally enjoy dining at this restaurant! The food is awesome, the broth for the ramens are just the way I like it. The servers are really nice and attentive with making sure we had water and asked if we needed anything. My other half enjoys these boiled eggs with different sauces on it, delicious! If you're looking for a good ramen spot, this is it!

Yelp
I'm picky with my ramen, particularly if they are in cities where I expect a solid bowl. Honolulu is one such city where there are dozens of good to great ramen shops. Golden Pork Tonkotsu probably ranks in the top tier but was a tweeter for me at 4.5. For Yelp, I've given it 5 stars. The restaurant is small and I imagine is quite full during prime meal times. There was one waitress working the restaurant but she was fast, attentive and we received our food quickly. The ramen was solid, no complaints on broth or noodles. The spicy broth had a nice kick, may be too hot for those not accustomed to spicy foods but perfect for me. The regular tonkotsu broth was well flavored not too salty and not as thick as some you will find at ramen spots in Japan. More similar to an Ichiran. I would not put the broth in the class of an Ichiran but it held up well to my tastes. The noodles were al dente with a nice chew. The gyoza were well seasoned with sesame oil, would prefer some more garlic but overall an above average gyoza with a nicely fried and crispy bottom and steamed top. Overall it was a solid dining experience and bowl of ramen.

Yelp
Came here for lunch. There is a small parking lot in the back. I wanted tsukemen so I ordered that. You can make an entree a combo for a few bucks. I added two pieces of chicken karaage and a small salad. The chicken karaage was fantastic. While I enjoyed my noodles, I thought my wife's order of the golden pork classic tonkatsu ramen was better. I would order that if I came back.

Yelp
Favorite ramen spot in Oahu! Friendly staff, great service, and delicious food. Sub for the thick noodles, you won't regret it! Second time visiting when coming to the islands, will definitely come back

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday night and it was pretty packed! There was a bit of a wait when we came, but the line moved pretty fast. Service was a bit slow, since they only had very little staff. We tried their black garlic tsukemen and spicy ramen. The spicy ramen was pretty average, but their black garlic tsukemen was really good! The broth was really tasty. The size can be a bit small and they don't give you a bunch of meat, so definitely order an appetizer if you want to be full. Definitely try out their black garlic ramen or tsukemen if you ever visit!
google avatar

Trent U.

Yelp
One of the top 3 ramen shops on island. Gyoza is hand made and juicy on the inside. Their tsukemen is the best with a semi-thick condensed broth. Tsujita tsukemen in Waikiki was #1 before they went out of business.

Yelp
Tucked away across from Tipsy Pig II, Golden Pork is a modest eatery that punches above its weight. While it might not have the most glamorous exterior, it does offer delicious and affordable dining experience. I stumbled upon this place while searching for a warm bowl of ramen to eat on a gloomy Hawaii Day. Lucky for me, I arrived just in time to take advantage of their happy hour menu. The spicy cucumber, a delightful blend of chili oil and garlic chips, was a standout. The gyoza, though simple, were also quite satisfying. For my main course, I opted for the creamy vegan ramen. It was a perfect balance of flavors, with green onions, mushrooms, and tofu adding a hearty touch. While the portion size was just right, the real challenge lies in finding parking. The limited spaces behind the restaurant can be a bit of a hassle. The maximum amount of cars they could probably fit is 7 vehicles. Unfortunately, If the car lot is full, the only way out is by reversing back out to the road with cars passing. Despite this minor inconvenience, Golden Pork is definitely worth a visit. Its delicious food and affordable prices make it a hidden gem in the area. Service was also great! I came in on Halloween and at the end of my meal, the server gave me a chocolate chip cookie and wafer as a Halloween treat!

Yelp
Happy hour here is great! Come at opening and park in the TINY lot in the back. The turn is right before the shop, so you can easily miss it. And good luck because there's about 5 spaces and one narrow way in and out. The other option is to wait for street parking to open up. It's a nice restaurant, casual, but very clean and Japanese-y. I liked the decor. It was pretty empty the whole time we were there, but the staff kept insisting on seating the few customers close to each other so we were all on one side of the restaurant - not sure what was up with that. This time I didn't order any ramen. Just ate pupus off the happy hour menu. Still a great deal. The pork buns are a solid crowd favorite. My friend really liked the karaage and the spicy eggs. Gyoza was nicely pan fried, but I didn't love the filling. It was good, but I've definitely had better. The cucumber was a nice fresh addition to the other dishes. If I was more hungry, I would have ordered a bowl of ramen, but couldn't handle it this time. We were so full after just pupus. Anyway, nice place, terrible parking situation, but good food, and good selection for happy hour. I hope to be back again.

Yelp
After reading the history and the reviews we really wanted to try this place. I found it average. The broth was pork but it didn't have any depth. The noodles were aldenti but that was it. The home made gyoza was high in ginger taste and cooked perfectly but it was not amazing. The mochiko chicken or chicken karaage (can't remember what it is called here) was yummy but nothing would have to come back to have. I rated it average. See my photos.

Yelp
Going with a family of 6 we got to try a lot of different dishes! Parking: located on a busy street, we parked on the opposite side on the street. I am not sure if there is parking specific to the restaurant. The gyoza was pan fried beautifully and had a nice crunch to them. The black garlic ramen was my favorite out of the dishes we ordered. The tonkatsu was tender and not too thick. The noodles were chewy and fresh. We especially knew they were fresh because when we ordered extra, the waiter told us it would take 7 mins to come out. My favorite topping would probably have to be the chopped wood ear! I wish more places offered it. The tsukemen could have been good but we may gotten the wrong flavor for our taste. It was spicy and a bit sour. But the noodles were so yummy! They were a thicker noodle than the ramen noodle and just as chewy and delicious.

Yelp
A real hidden gem in Honolulu when it comes to Ramen. Things to consider: - Parking is very limited. There is parking behind the building via a small alleyway. However, not SUV friendly. - Street parking will be your best bet. Overall, the experience, vibes, and food were really great. My party had ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, Charsiu Rice Bowl, and Karaage. The Ramen: - Broth was super tasty with a good amount of pork. - Serving size was good for the price. The Rice Bowl: - pork was plenty and very flavorful. - small pieces but they melt in your mouth - all on top of a bed of white rice with nori Total came out to under $40 for a table of 2. Highly recommended when in the area for some solid ramen!

Yelp
Delicious ramen and gyoza! The parking lot is very tight--it can be a nightmare to get out if it's already full, especially if another car is also behind you (we were the "other car" in this case). We were able to find free street parking just around the corner next to the auto-spa. When you arrive, I recommend signing in on the sign in sheet in front and then waiting outside (but still in view), even if it's just yourself or two people and there are empty tables. The wait staff tend to be quite busy and this helps ensure you keep your place in line, even as other parties arrive. The menu has some interesting/unique choices but we decided to stick to something familiar since this was our first time here. We each got gyoza and black garlic ramen. Ramen comes with thin style noodles but they can use thicker style noodles upon request. The food came out quickly. The gyoza was delicious, though my husband's gyoza was definitely more crisp on the bottom than mine). Ramen was also delicious! Filling and not too much food. Sometimes at ramen places, the serving sizes are so huge and since ramen doesn't keep well as leftovers, I feel bad for wasting food. This serving size was perfect! There is also chili oil on the table in case you want a little spice to your broth, though it's very flavorful on its own. Service was attentive, despite the busy lunch crowd. From other reviews, it seems like they have a punch card but we weren't asked for one or offered one. Sounds like they have a great happy hour though!

Yelp
Food was great! My friend and I both had the black garlic original ramen. Very good tasting ramen and drinkable broth. Eating it with a draft beer always hits the spot. The gyoza was alright, but the fried chicken was one of my favorite sides! It was a pretty big portion so we weren't able to finish it with the ramen. It's a comfortable ambience and the workers let us sit a while and just catch up. Always a good time here, though I don't come here often due to the parking. There's about 8 or so spots in the back (if I remember correctly) though larger cars would have a hard time fitting through. It's pretty easy to miss since it's a narrow opening into the lot from the main street, though street parking is also available.

Yelp
One of my favorite ramen spots! I love a good tonkatsu ramen and Golden Pork's one does not disappointment. The noodles are a good texture, char siu is soft and tender and the rest of the toppings tie it all together. My friend and I also shared gyoza and the fried chicken. Both were tasty and hit the spot with the ramen. Service was nice and quick. The food came out pretty fast. Try to make sure to come here early because the place can fill up quickly. Parking is a bit tough because it's a tiny lot in the back but there seems to be a lot of street parking around. Definitely come here to get your ramen fix! There are a lot of options, including tsukemen ramen and rice bowls! Something for everyone :)

Yelp
Great Happy Hour at this small cozy Ramen spot. The staff is super attentive and the food is served almost as soon as you hand the menus back to them. Try the Black Garlic Ramen and a pro tip- order extra serving of noodles for a couple bucks more

Yelp
By far this is our family's favorite ramen bar in Waikiki. We tried a few popular ones around town throughout the years and are glad to find this spot. Parking is a little tricky. It does have limited parking lot at the back alley, but very tight and fits only 6 cars max (shared with other stores in the strip). I suspect most people just do street parking. The noodle is perfect and so does the soup. We just like everything we ate at this place.

Yelp
My favorite is the classic golden pork ramen. The thin noodles really complement the delicate slices of chashu pork and soak up the flavor of the tonkotsu broth. They also offer half-size portions of ramen for those who have a smaller appetite.

Chris K.

Yelp
Came here many years back right when it first opened and was disappointed and never came back for a while. I went back today and was much more impressed. Prices for sides are a little steep so go during Happy Hour when they knock a few dollars off the price. The service was fast and the ramens came in only a few minutes, impressive! The overall vibe of the place is nice too. I had the Garlic Tonkotsu. The ramen noodles were definitely on the harder side, especially considering they were on the thinner side, which some people like but I don't. The noodle portion did also seem a little on the smaller side, so I ended up doing kaedama. The broth was also thinner for a tonkotsu ramen, which I really enjoyed and was really good! The person I was eating dinner with had a x3 Spicy Miso, but it definitely was on the lighter side of spicy. For sides, we had the gyoza (hot and really good!) and the karaage (big and really good!). My biggest complaint is definitely parking. Street parking is probably okay during the day and after 6:30, but if there's none then you're stuck parking in the very cramped lot in the back, with a very tight entry (definitely will not fit large cars) and space for only six cars.

Yelp
Golden Pork Ton-Kotsu Ramen Bar Overall: ***** Highly Recommended ***** Food: ***** Value: **** Menu: **** Ambiance: *** Service: **** Parking: *** 6 stalls or street meters At a networking event, a bunch of us were discussing who had the best Ramen and John recommended Golden Pork Ton-Kotsu Ramen Bar, specifically the Black Garlic Original Ton-kotsu ramen I tried it and it was delicious! It is now one of my top 2 ramens, along with Kamitoku's Beefy Wild. This is a winner, if you like the rich pork broths. If you prefer the healthier and lighter shoyu broths, you may have to look elsewhere. The Golden Pork Bun was also a winner! Tender, delicious and freshly made. I was surprise to see that they have a good selection of Japanese dishes and alcohol beverages. I will definitely be going back for Izakaya dishes and drinks. Yelp
My friend recommended this ramen spot and I'm glad that I had the chance to come here. I will come back here every time I'm back in Hawaii now! :) List of the dishes that we ordered were: - Black Garlic Tsukemen (soup on the side) highly recommend. The noodles are thicker than the regular ramen, but their sauce & soup on the side is on point, very savory. - Golden Pork Classic: one of the popular one, my 6 year old daughter love this, we ordered the soup in for her and would recommend! - Golden Pork Buns: if you like fatty pork, this is for you. Similar to the one you get at Ippudo Ramen. I didn't really like it here as much. - Grilled Char Siu: minor spice, I enjoyed this for appetizer - Spicy Miso Tonkotsu: my husband did not enjoy it as much, it was bland. We parked in the front, but there is additional parking in the back if you need! Good service and simple spot to be having lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Finally had all of us eat here tonight. There is street parking, or a small parking lot right before the restaurant. We will drive around to look for parking because that's how good the noodles are here. The resto is small and quaint but worth waiting for! Hands down the best garlic noodles!

Yelp
Quick to get a table on a Saturday evening! Parking lot is small so be prepared to look around, but they do have parking available for customers. Small location but cook bar center with tables surrounding concept. Ramen was decent, nothing special. Tried their classic and felt that it got the job done with a good broth, but needed some extra additives to make it something worth mentioning.

Yelp
I love a good golden pork experience. Went with a few friends on a late Thursday. It was pretty empty, parking was available and it was quick service. Golden pork is usually a go to for tsukemen and they have not disappointed yet. The vibes were chill and the place was not loud which was perfect.

Yelp
I love hole in the wall King St restaurants like Golden Pork! The food here was really good and the prices were extremely reasonable. I came here on Friday night around 7pm to dine in. The parking here isn't the best, but we got lucky. There's a driveway before the restaurant that leads to their parking lot, which probably had around seven stalls. I thought it would be busy on a Friday night, but to my surprise, there were still two stalls available! They do not take reservations, so when we arrived, we put our name down on their waiting list. It's a pretty small restaurant with both regular table and bar seating. Luckily, a party was finishing up, so we waited less than ten minutes for a table. I got the golden pork ramen. The best thing about this was the thinly sliced pork. It was so flavorful and a great texture that wasn't too fatty or dry. The noodles were also a good texture and the broth was flavorful. I tried some of my friend's sukiyaki bowl and cucumbers. For dessert, I got the fried bun ice cream. The bun was crispy like a malasada with ice cream sprinkled with kinako. It definitely hit the spot! Our waiter was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend people try Golden Pork! The prices are so reasonable for the quality/amount of food you can get.

Yelp
My friend & I were craving for a good tsukemen and by accident we ended up here! I give this place a 5/5 stars but a 4.5 stars overall because the only junk part about this place is the parking. They have street parking which I think you can park only during certain hours. And a really small lot with about 3 stalls if you can fit your car in the back lot. When we got there about 12pm on a Sunday, it was pretty crowded but we were still able to get seated right away. They have about 5-6 tables and a long table right in the middle. We both ordered the spicy tsukemen level 2 and a gyoza to share. Our orders came out pretty fast. I loveddd the tsukemen! The broth was thick so that when you dip the noodles in, the broth sticks to the noodles to capture all the flavor in one bite. It comes with green onions, ear mushrooms, two thin pieces of pork, and half an egg. Those shrooms are my fav. The gyoza meat was very fine and little on the mushier side, but still tasty. They can make your noodle firmness to your liking so make sure to ask them if you prefer it a certain way. So glad we got to try this and hope to be back sometime soon! I wouldn't mind trying their ramen too and other side dishes.

Yelp
Why didn't I come here before?! Golden pork is located on south king street. We went on a Friday at 630 and got lucky with street parking in front. We also just missed happy hour that ends at 6:30, m-f! Anyway, I ordered the black garlic original which was soo tasty! I loved the broth and it was not too salty. I enjoyed every bite. The nori is also slightly thicker than usual which I appreciated. The golden pork buns were really tasty as well. There's a wasabi mayo sauce inside that's not too spicy but adds a lot of flavor. Gyoza was also very delicious! It has some peanut flavor to it, maybe oil?? Anyway it was crispy on the bottom even after sitting there for 10 minutes or more. Original broth was also creamy but a little too salty to drink. Overall, I will definitely come back and get the black garlic and gyoza again!

Yelp
Awesome food, a real hidden gem. Service was fast, and they were really nice and polite. Parking available too.

Yelp
I have been aware of this location for a while ever since they've opened but never got the chance to come by, so when on a random night my mother mentioned that she was craving for a bowl of ramen I recommended to try something new and just happened to walk by this location. The establishment is on a smaller scale, and it seems like it can only comfortably accommodate parties up to 5 people each. The overall service of the restaurant feels more leaning on the self service side, once we got into the restaurant and stated it was for two, we were sat and handed menus and a big jug of water. There are paper cups on the table for you to do yourself and also chopsticks for you to grab as well. We ordered the: - Golden Pork Original Ramen: My mother ordered this and she said it was very flavorful and delicious. The only thing she noted was that it was quite fatty and heavy with the Tonkotsu broth (as expected). She mentioned that she doesn't eat much so the portion was perfect for her. - Spicy Miso Ramen: I asked the waitress when I ordered her recommended spice level and she said either 1 or 2, I went for two and she actually put the spice on the side for me in case I wanted to portion it myself. I put it all in and it was perfect, just a light spice, so I would think level 3 shouldn't be too bad. The broth was rich and umami, and the spice helped to cut through the fattiness of the broth. I personally feel like the portions are a bit small. It was perfect for us two, but I do feel that an average individual may find that a singular bowl is not fulfilling enough. The overall experience was nothing to rave over but it was satisfactory for the meal!

Michelle L.

Yelp
Really authentic ramen that's flavorful and rich! This place is decorated nicely similar to how ramen shops are in Japan. The restaurant is a little smaller so you might have to wait. I went right at opening and half the tables were already full. I recommend trying the black garlic ramen. Portions are smaller IMO but they also have add ons for sides which are a good deal.

Yelp
I come to Hawaii every year and this is my first stop. I've tried a number of the ramen places on Oahu and this is definitely my favorite. My order is the same each time too. Black garlic original tonkotsu ramen, extra noodles, char siu, and egg. I love how much customization they allow: spice level, noodle thickness, toppings, etc. The quantity is probably smaller than most other places hence the extra toppings in my order. But it's definitely worth it. The noodles have just the right amount of bite. The pork is thinly sliced: not too lean, not too fatty. The egg is gooey, not overly cooked. It's not a huge space but they have a decent amount of seating. It can get quite busy on weekends so I prefer weekdays. Service is quick and efficient.

Yelp
[Food] - Golden Pork Tsukemen ($15.50): Broth was a bit too liquidy. I prefer a thicker broth as it helps stick to the noodles better, but the flavors were good nonetheless. Appreciate they included all these toppings without extra charge like most places. - Black Garlic Original Ramen ($15.75): The broth was a tad too rich for me but I still overall enjoyed the flavor. My bf enjoyed this more than I did. - Takowasa ($4.95): One of my favorite appetizers to get that can never go wrong. - Cold Tofu ($4.50): Silky smooth and refreshing! - Lemon Sour ($4.75): My favorite beverage of choice whenever I eat at a Japanese restaurant. Super refreshing and hits the spot! [Service] - Fast, attentive, friendly [Ambiance] - Clean, casual, spacious [Overall] - 3.5 but rounded up to 4 stars just because the food was decent and staff were accommodating and friendly.

Yelp
I ate at Golden Pork Tonkotsu Ramen Bar with a friend, and we enjoyed it. I ordered the Golden Pork Tsukemen, sauté scallops, and a grilled mackerel. Our favorite was the sauté scallops with asparagus because of the seasonings/sauce. The garlic, butter, and soy sauce were so good, and it made the asparagus taste better too. The grilled mackerel didn't have any bones, and it had settled flavors. It was a good dish too. The Golden Pork Tsukemen hit the spot. A flavorful warm ramen on a rainy day. The service was great too, only 1 waiter and we were the only ones that were in the shop till the lunch rush starting kicking in. Overall, I would definitely come back again. I would recommend ordering the sauté scallops and arrive especially on these December rainy days.

Yelp
Excited to try a different ramen spot a little northwest of the Waikiki area. Seating was a little tight but we were seated about 10 min after arrival. I ordered the Black Garlic Original Tonkotsu Ramen. This had good flavor and the portion was enough for me this time but thankfully I wasn't very hungry. If I were I would probably needed an appetizer like the Pork bun that a friend ordered. Over all it wasn't my favorite but would go back.

Yelp
First meal after arriving in Hawaii and it definitely hit! They have a small private parking lot which is thru a small tunnel right next to the restaurant and there's only like 4 spots My bf and I ordered gyozas and the spicy cucumber for appetizers and we both got the spicy miso ramen, level 3 cus we LOVE spice and added egg The gyozas were sooo fat n plump omg they were my fav gyozas I've had a ramen shop by far.. super reccomend their gyozas The spicy cucumber was good too, the spice + the friend garlic bits,,, just MUAH! The ramen was sooo good, I absolutely loved the broth and the saltiness, my only wish was that the spice level was higher cus level 3 was way too weak for us xD Service was really good, they were suuuper attentive and fast. They have tables big enough for larger parties and they also had tables for single diners as well. I highly recommend to anyone looking for some dank ramen :)

Yelp
Coming here for a bowl of ramen was a highlight of my week! The mackerel is delicious and the dipping (tsukemen) ramen is my favorite! The service is great -- was seated right away and was well attended by the staff.

Yelp
We didn't know there was happy hour during Mon-Fri! They had sides and alcohol discounted! Always delicious ramen! The piggy decor is always funny to see. My favorite is always the Tako Wasabi. The Calamari complimented the ramen we had. We got the Black garlic tsukemen, Black Garlic Original Ramen, and the Original flavor ramen. I was getting over a bad cold so the ramen was a good hot soup to have. You can chose the heat level, but we learned even level two was too hot for us! Lol. Golden Pork Bun had a surprisingly big slice of pork!! We will get that again when we go back :D

Yelp
What a "Golden" find! Golden Pork has been on my radar for quite some time...and after a rainy afternoon at the Bon Festival we were looking for something to warm us up. I was more concerned there was gonna be a wait but was so surprised to see it was basically empty so we sailed right in woohoo! Nice simple table for two all set with paper cups was interesting to see which now made sense as a pitcher of ice water was brought out for us to serve ourselves...hmmm different but nice! I chose to stick it with water and bestie got calpico (yum!). The menu is quite large page after page of beer, wine, sake and appetizers the ramen portion is quite simple literally two pages...Traditional or Tsukemen in Golden Pork, Spicy Red or Black Garlic. Along with the menu you're given a sheet to fill out our order (bring your glasses as it's quite small) you're able to tailor your noods to spice level noodle type add ins or "not wants" like me no green onions. Bestie loves her Saba so we got the "GP Style Grilled Mackerel" which came with oroshi daikon, lemon, green onions and ponzu on the side. It came out quite fast sliced on a bias the skin was not as crispy as I'd like but it was yummy, also we had to get the gyoza (five pieces) which is house made and was filled and fried the real traditional way which I LOVE! There was a few other items I had my eye on which will be definitely for another time. Our ramen she got the "Golden Pork Classic" no spice add an egg...I decided on the Black Garlic Original as she filled out the form..."ramen or tsukemen?"...hmmm Tsukemen...spice level...two!...no green onions! Her ramen looked exactly what we were craving mmmmmm!! My tsukemen came deconstructed and what a yummy bite! Level two I felt the heat and thankfully I didn't go crazy the soup was so nice and flavorful! What I'd definitely come back for...dessert! She got the vanilla Ice cream topped with kinako and kuromitsu which she loved and I just couldn't pass up on Matcha Tiramisu...seriously!! This stunning dessert sampler masterpiece comes with a beautiful piece of Matcha Tiramisu, matcha warabi mochi and the same ice cream with kinako and kuromitsu. The tiramisu is topped with a matcha mousse so light and not too sweet it's something I'm already craving again! Service is awesome kept us updated on items that took longer and make sure to remove any empty plates, the decor and vibe here is just whimsical with cute pigs scattered on the middle centerpiece table...cheers! Thank you!

Yelp
Great ramen place right on king street. Flavor of broth is so tasty, lunch options are awesome as you can add. Pork bau or chicken karaage, or gyoza for small addition. I also get the xtra noodles for few bucks more. Garlic spicy cucumber is a must!!!' Will be back.....a 10 thumbs up for this place.

Yelp
Probably one of the best ramen experiences I've had in Hawaii. I had the spicy red miso dragon ramen and it was packed with so much flavor. I also had the house made gyoza which were one of the best I've had. On top of that, I also tried the grilled char siu which was super good. Everything together was a fantastic late lunch for me.

Yelp
Came a few minutes after they opened with my mom. Was told we could sit anywhere. Had to ask what kind of sake the islander sake was. Server said it was a junmai daiginjo, and fruity so decided to try. It was smooth, couldn't really taste the fruit. Decided to get the golden pork classic with an egg just as a baseline. My mom ordered to same and ordered gyoza and pork baos. The food came out pretty fast. Gyoza skin was crispy, normal pork and vegetable filling. Pork bao was a little interesting in that it had mayo on it. Pork was tender, a tad dry, bao was soft. Onto the ramen- I was surprised the egg was a whole one, usually ramen places I've been only give half. The broth had a nice creamy pork flavor, but it was just a little salty. The noodles were thin and chewy. My brother got the black garlic one which seemed saltier than what I had. Wouldn't mind going back. Although parking can be am issue.
