LA Bars and Restaurants Featured in Modern Noir Cop Show Bosch | Eater LA

"This San Gabriel Valley restaurant is the scene of a card game that allegedly took place in Season 4, episode 8. Bosch and Edgar show up to question Ting to see if his cousin had played the card game there. Ting gives the detectives a tour of the kitchen where he denies knowing the Chinese mainlander in question." - Matthew Kang

Run of the mill types of Chinese food. Cheap and uninspired dishes. Each dish is around $9 for lunch. The portions are ok and they are very popular with big group dining. Although the restaurant has a large dining area, it doesn’t serve dim sum. So on the weekends, most people come for lunch special. Since we have not been here for a long time, we thought we would give it try again today. But it turned out it was not a good lunch meal. We ordered 3 dishes for two of us. The sweet and sour fish was a bit fishy. We had a very bad fishy after taste in our mouths. The clam with ginger and pepper was the best among the three with decent taste but no wok Hei though. Finally, the vegetables and Chinese sausage dish was way too salty. We ended up not able to eat much of it. I guess, the food have not changed much here. I don’t think we will be coming back anytime soon.

Have been coming to Golden Soup for years. Authentic Chinese food is really good and reasonable prices. Large restaurant is good for large family parties as well. Staff are nice.

Their food and price point are decent. But I am disappointed by their service.

The lights and big screen are distracting, but the food is fantastic.

Good food but very poor service. Our waiter (bald, mid aged guy) was so rude.

Yelp
We made reservations for a family get together about 30 of us. They gave us the back room and we had our own space which was nice. Ordered a set menu, that had lobster, abalone and mustard greens, soup, fried rice, Peking duck and bun, Chinese cold appetizer, honey walnut shrimp, fish and dessert. It was alllll really tasty for about $450 and with tax -tip we're looking at around $520. Not bad for a ton of food. The place reminds me of an older dingy Chinese restaurant from the 90s while your aunties are getting married with the hot pink napkin. But what do you expect, it's Chinese! I'd go back in a heart beat.

Yelp
Ambiance: super spacious dining hall inside, with few private rooms, good for large group hangout and event venue, amble parking spots on the ground and underground in the very old plaza Service: very fast and almost rushed, from placing the order to cleaning the table, and had to remind a couple of times to get takeout box Food: numerous items on their regular and specials menu, and they also have seasonal seafood promotions Chicken w/ Black Pepper in Clay Pot - ** the sauce was great, however, the chicken was overcooked and tasted so rubbery and few pieces were not even chewable, as dry as almost tasted like leftover for a couple of days Braised Pork Belly w/ Preserved Cabbage - **** flavorful broth, and tender texture, recommend Sweet & Sour Whole Fish - *** not balanced sweetness and acidity, too sour, and fish was very dry Price: affordable prices for lunch, very lackluster quality though, and expect $20~$25 per person for a very fulfilling meal

Yelp
Golden Soup Restaurant, the sister restaurant to Tin Tin Restaurant in Rosemead, is a solid choice for Chinese cuisine in the San Gabriel Valley. I have been coming to the place for years, and the interior is quite beautiful; it takes me back to the Chinese restaurants I visited in Beijing. The food is also good, especially the lunch specials. A fun fact is that Netflix's The Brothers Sun filmed their triad battle scene here at Golden Soup. Overall, I like the Walnut Shrimp, Fish Fillet with Sweet Corn sauce, and their ginger scallion sauce is amazeballs lolol. One of the best sauces I have ever had at a Chinese restaurant. The portion sizes are also good. Overall, I'm a supporter.

Yelp
We enjoy eating here. Lots of variety. When it is really busy, service is difficult. Hard to get water, hard to get a check, and then it is the wrong check. Skip the rush, go on an off hour with friends and you will enjoy your meal more.

Yelp
We met for lunch a couple of months ago with other family members that live in the LA/Glendale area. Our party of 5 was seated right away when we arrived at their 11am opening. The menu offers many lunch specials, which includes soup and rice. We shared Braised Catfish with Bean Curd, Fish Fillet with Black Bean Sauce, Lotus Root with Vegetables and Chinese Sausage, Steamed Pork with Salted Fish, and House Chicken. Portions were fair, but the soup was nothing special, Service was pretty quick, even though they were setting up for a large birthday party. The decor was pleasant. Ample parking in the shopping center's outdoor lot, as well as underground.

Yelp
My dad is a sucker for a good deal and we both love squab! We were told that they had squab for $10.99, which is a steal! We had to come and try! They have a large lunch menu at the price of $11.99. Mostly entree dishes. Dishes with noodles or rice is a little more from $12.99 to $15.99. We ordered the chicken with soy sauce and scallion, squab, and fried fish with sweet and sour sauce. Everything tasted great. Fried fish was the sweet and sour sauce was drench.. a little too much sauce for my preference. I would suggest getting the sauce on the side or the soy sauce one. Squab was delicious! Can't wait to return back to try their other items!

Yelp
My family likes to come here for large family gatherings because the prices are cheap. The food has alright. I like the steamed whole cod and fried tofu dish. Everything else is OK. The service is not nice. When my sister asked the waiter for rice, she needed to ask multiple times. The waiter said that it takes time and laughed at her. It was unnecessary and rude. It took a long time to get rice, water, and tea.

Yelp
We ordered the chicken curry. Instead of telling us they ran out of chicken, the kitchen decided to dress up some chicken bones, batter it up and cover it with curry. GTFO Did they think we wouldn't notice when our teeth fell out and bone shards littered our mouths? That we would have spit out mouthfuls? I don't understand how the cooks or servers have the gall to serve not-food. How they think they can get away with it without repercussions. That their definitions of customer service is so low that they don't even try... Other dishes had zero flavor and did not save the day.

Yelp
This is a typical Chinese restaurant in the 626 that my parents are big fans of. Lunch specials exist even on weekends. Location is on the second floor of a seemingly abandoned plaza. Service is not the worst, but definitely would help if you speak Chinese. The biggest thing I like is that the portions are big, even for lunch specials with decent prices. We never finish the food and have plenty of food left over for dinner. I've never seen any other place give a whole extra half of a fried fish for the fried sole fillet. There is also complimentary soup for lunch. The quality, though, is usually just average. I wish there was more sauce on the fried fish, because it was pretty dry. Kung pao chicken and shrimp with egg, and most other dishes here, are ok, nothing special.

Yelp
OVERALL EXPERIENCE: Attended a banquet here recently and the food was ok. I wouldn't come back, as I have had better food at other restaurants (for banquet style). AMBIANCE: Casual. Noise level is average. At the time, there were two separate parties going. They used room divider panels (so noise level can still be heard and you can see through the panels). FOOD: Banquet style (8 course meal): - House Special Pork - Fried Prawn with Honey Walnuts - Diced Beef Filet with House Special Sauce - House Special Roasted Chicken - Fish Maw Soup - Steamed Fish - Baked Lobster with Green Onions and Ginger - Dessert was red bean SERVICE: Service was good. PRICE: not sure, as I was a guest PARKING: Private plaza with plenty of parking, both covered (underground) and uncovered. LOCATION: Located toward the back of the plaza on the second level. They have an escalator, elevator, and stairs. Food: 3/5 stars Service: 4/5 stars Venue: 3/5 stars

Yelp
For anybody wondering what happened to the building, I happened to be driving past this restaurant the day it caught fire. Now I only assume there was a fire because fire trucks were all over the place. I didn't actually see it burning but they must've put it out already as I drove by. A fire truck had its ladder extended all the way up to the roof. It's possible that it could've been a massive plumbing failure and a great deal of water damage. It's a shame. I used to eat here for decades nearly every weekend before the inflation debacle. Last time I went here was a year ago but got too expensive to eat here.

Yelp
Amazing how another year flew by! Today is Christmas Day, December 25th, 2023. It happens to be my youngest brother's birthday. He and his family are visiting from No Cal. We are grateful to have him and his family join us this holiday season. We chose to have our Christmas + my brother's birthday lunch together at Golden Soup. I had called on Christmas Eve to make reservations for 19 people. And they had lunch specials for $11.95 each dish average on a holiday... that was a first for me... thanks Golden Soup for the gift! We had two tables... one with 10 people and the other with 9 people. Each table ordered their own dishes. Funny, we both ended up with 13 dishes each. Everything was delicious except for the chicken mushroom... unfortunately, the chicken tasted stale. The foods came out pretty timely despite of how busy they were... I can't imagine how chaotic it was in the kitchen. Well done Golden Soup! We were planning to order lobster, too, but the price per lb was $19.99ish which was $4+ more than their sister restaurant and my Mom said no... oh well. I guess we'll be having lobster at the other place LOL. Anyway, you're welcome to checkout the food pictures that I took to see what was ordered at my table. I didn't take any food pictures from the other table though, however, we did order some of the same dishes. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Ambiance was very bright and festive with the red lantern lights. I think they are getting ready for Chinese New Year. Prices for their lunch specials are comparable to other similar restaurants. We enjoyed our holiday meal very much. We'll be back for more next time. Spending quality time and enjoying good eats with family brings us great joy. Happy Holidays!!!

Yelp
Came here on Jan 15, 2023 for my Auntie's 100th birthday, can you imagine? My cousin Kwong Ming reserved VIP room #2 for our party of 8. Supposed to be 10 but two couldn't make it. See photos of traditional Chinese banquet dishes, like cold meats appetizer platter, Peking duck, live Maine lobster, sea cucumber , steamed fish, fish maw soup, shrimp and snow peas, jumbo scallops . The restaurant gifted us 3 desserts,. real cream birthday cake, miniblack sesame buns, and black sesame balls in sweet soup. We all thought the food was very, very bland. Bad server bring us salt shaker which was not enough for all of us. Plus soy sauce and red vinegar still didn't make the food taste much more flavored. My cousin said no salt is the fashion now, I didn't think the food on this visit was nearly as good as the times I came before which I picked dishes that are much more salty like salt and pepper pork chops fish fillets and braised pork belly with preserved vegetables. All are my favorite dishes which I eat at lunch special with the same family. So that is the reason for my three stars this time. We did have our favorite server named May, who has been working at this restaurant for 8 years I think if it weren't for her we wouldn't have gotten those three dessert gifts which the restaurant purchased from outside and except for this black sesame ball soup it was not made in the restaurant they told us. View my pictures of the dishes, and of me and my auntie, and of my auntie cutting her cake on her 100th year birthday on January 15th 2023.

Yelp

Yelp
Looking for a place to grub for lunch in SGV? This place is a nice option. Nestled amongst the many Chinese restaurants along Valley Blvd in the city of San Gabriel, this place offers a solid variety of dishes to meet any size group of eaters. We came here with my family of four and my parents-in-law looking for a place for lunch where we can get this variety of dishes. From Fried whole fish in soy sauce, to the baked/fried shrimp in pepper salt, to the seafood chow mein, along with clams in black bean sauce, and string beans, this was an adequate amount to feed a party of 6. Food: decently seasoned and prepared. I tend to like spicier foods so it was a little lacking in intensity. The jalapeños in the shrimp dish helped and went well with white rice. Portions were plentiful so you won't be hungry if you are shooting to order one dish per person. Service: relatively attentive. Probably typical for a Chinese restaurant like this in the SGV. Keep your expectations to a realistic level and you'll be fine. It helps if you can speak in their language. But if you don't it's still pretty good to get what you need. Environment: very spacious restaurant with lots of tables. I think they used to rent out the space for wedding parties in the past. You can see a stage at the one end of the room. They also have a couple of private rooms for dining parties too. Overall: solid pick for a lunch spot. Price and quality are on par with similar restaurants in SGV. Would I come back? Yes. But not in a rush. Lots of other similar restaurants to try in the area. But I would put this in my rotation to come back to at some point.

Yelp
Our group of 8 came here for lunch mainly as my cousin wanted to check out a site from Brothers Son and American Born Chinese. Beautiful restaurant with many private rooms. It's family style eating with good lunch specials. I thought all the dishes were good such as the seafood noodles, yi mein noodles, bitter melon spare ribs, fried fish, fried shrimp, gailan, except for the egg rolls and fried dumplings. We ordered those mainly for the kids. Great service too! Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Our normal place to Chinese family style food. Everything is no nonsense yummy and gotta really waive down your waiter! Typical Chinese food place! Large parking lot and underground..
google avatar

Luis D.

Yelp
Came here for early lunch. Plenty of parking especially in the underground garage. Good service and staff attentive. The restrooms were spacious and clean. Ordered the spicy salt pork chops, spare ribs with black bean, gai lan, fried rice with dried scallops and egg rolls. The chow mein and the fried rice were a bit bland. The only thing I didn't like was the egg rolls, because of the mushy filling.

Yelp
FANTASTIC, 10/10, AMAZING! Please come to eat at this restaurant!!! We came for a wedding and all 10 courses were sooooo good! The waiters were so sweet and nice and adhered to our needs immediately. I am 100% coming back for a regular dinner and ordering the following dishes I have in my attachments. Please come to this lovely chinese restaurant!

Yelp
A little hidden inside the plaza. Building itself is also pretty old on the outside but it's a very big and spacious restaurant inside. Lunch special prices available Parking: plenty of space inside plaza Food: first time here and the lunch specials are such a steal for the price. The portion sizes are pretty big so everything is sharable. They also serve free soup for the table. Most of our dishes averaged about $11 each. Honestly surprised at how cheap the prices are! The quality of food was also not bad! Service: they had a lot of waiters and everyone was very nice!

Yelp
What's up: We were celebrating the Mid Autumn Festival with a family dinner. We had called ahead and booked one of their rooms. To reserve one, we'd have to spend at least $300 for our meal. With our party of 14, we were going to hit that minimum without any problems. Parking: Located on the second floor in the Gold World Plaza, parking is plentiful if you access the underground parking area. Just go slow when you head down because it is a steep decline. The top level parking is usually limited and crowded since it's shared amongst the nearby shops. Environment: Masks are required. After taking the elevator, stairs, or escalator up to the 2nd floor, you'll see the restaurant with its bright signage. The VIP room that we reserved was the first room to the left right after entering the restaurant. Restrooms are located further in the restaurant, not too far from the kitchen area. Staff members were attentive in the beginning, but they became sparse later into the evening. The soundproofing in the VIP room was great and blocked out the restaurant noise extremely well when the door is closed. What was ordered: We ordered the $348 Feast Menu plus a little bit extra - House Special Combination Platter (cold sliced meats and jelly fish. It was ok) - Fried Prawn with Honey Walnut (yummy. The shrimps were tasty and the walnuts had a good crunch) - Diced Beef Filet with French Style (loved how tender the beef was, pretty tasty) - Fish Maw Soup with Seafood (a bit bland, could use more salt) - Sea Cucumber and Black Mushroom (the sea cucumbers were not too clean and had some sand in it) - House Special Roasted Chicken (a bit dry) - Baked Lobster with Ginger and Green Onion (it was ok) - Steamed Live Fish (fresh and silky) - Dried Scallop and Egg White Fried Rice (bland, needed more flavor) - Dessert (Red Bean Soup, not too sweet) - Yee Mien (texture was not great, it was ok) Yay/Nay/Meh: Meh. Overall, the food was ok. I was more impressed with how quiet the room was than the food itself. The beginning of the dinner was great and the staff brought out the food extremely fast. However, they didn't come by very often towards the end to refill our teas. My favorite was the Fried Prawn with Honey Walnut and the Diced Beef Filet (those were tasty!). Because we had a large party, 18% gratuity was automatically added to the bill. Credit cards are accepted.

Yelp
Red Tag. Came here for lunch but found the Red Tag notice and dated on June 30. The ceiling stuff fell down

Yelp
When you call in, it goes to voicemail. Business is closed. Red tag top ceiling & dry wall fell down.

Yelp
This is your standard Chinese/HK restaurant - same dishes you'll get in most places in the SGV. What keeps us coming back here specifically is their "lunch" special that runs until 5pm, where most dishes are $9.99 (+ comes with soup, rice, and tea). BBQ sweet and sour ribs are my personal favorite here. Other notes: - Plenty of parking in the plaza - Bathroom in the restuarant - Dine in or takeout, lunch special pricing applies to both - No outdoor dining

Yelp
Some of the best Chinese food I've had in the Los Angeles area. Portion were big, the flavors were on point and the leftovers are being fought over at home! Can't wait to go back and try more dishes. The soup was great. My biggest recommendation is go with a group because the portions are so big and you're going to want to order so many things when you see food come out of the kitchen.

Yelp
I'm seriously considering a move to Rosemead because of all the good affordable Cantonese food here. Cannot get enough of their $10 lunch specials. I've already been back twice this week. So far I've tried 3 items on the menu, Satay Beef noodle soup (5/5), the lauded braised pork belly (5/5), and the baked pork chop in sauce (3/5). Lunch came with a pot of rice, tea, and bowl of broth meant to be shared. The hostess and waiters were also very friendly even though I don't speak Chinese. This place is a treasure.

Yelp
Dined here with a group of 6 for lunch on Saturday a couple weeks ago. Got here a little after noon and the restaurant was half empty, though it did fill up more while we were there. It was my first time here, but I thought they offered some fantastic lunch specials. For lunch, they have a large selection of dishes all priced at $7.99. We ordered 8 dishes for the 6 of us (way too much food btw) and walked away only paying ~$90 after tax and tip. What a steal!!! We ordered (* marks my favorites): Chicken with green onion and ginger - your average chicken, nothing special * Braised pork with preserved vegetables - the pork belly was fatty and well marinated Steamed sole fish - pretty good but I thought the soy sauce-based sauce was a bit too sweet Fish fillet with pepper salt - good but the dish wasn't hot anymore when it was served, also it was quite bland unless you dipped it into the salt * Beef with vegetables - beef was very tender * Beef chow fun - this dish cost a little bit more ($10.95), but it was pretty good * Braised string beans - I like this dish in general and thought they did a good job here Kung pao chicken - didn't try it Service was pretty good, and they also give you some complimentary soup at the beginning of the meal after you order. I can't rave enough about the lunch specials here!

Yelp
Golden Soup is a great little chinese restaurant that is not as well known as some other spots in SGV. Lunch Special deals are great and the portions are perfect for a family meal. Order for take out currently during COVID. Braised String Beans - $7.50 - A bit to plain for me Chinese Broccoli - $7.50 - Simple oyster sauce Baby Spinach - $7.50 - A bit to plain for me Yang Chow Fried Rice - $9.95 - Basic French Style Beef - $12.95 - Beef was tender Corn Fish Fillet - $7.50 - OG favorite Walnut Shrimp - $12.95 - Basic, weird it came with broccoli Lobster w/ Noodles - $12.99 per pound + $7 - Great pound pricing if you order a few lunch special items. Typical ginger green onion fry. 7 bucks for noodles is typical.

Yelp
Every time I go back to Los Angeles to visit family and friends, I must come here to purchase Cantonese dishes home to save my time. The lunch dishes is $9.99 now. Still a good price.

Yelp
I go for their $11 dishes. Dine in includes steamed rice and soup but not take out. They messed up our take out order and tried pushing blame. My favorite dish was the salted fish ground pork dish.

Yelp
My sister and I decided to have lunch here on a Saturday afternoon in late September. There was a line of few people at 10:50am. At 11am. We got a table and tea right away. The menu has $8.50 daily lunch specials till 6pm which is a bargain. We picked several dishes-beef chow fun, beef brisket, fried fish, sweet sour pork, Mongolian beef. We first got our soup and bowl of rice. The dishes came one at a time within 15 min. Fun to see their servers with the carts of food service to different tables. My favorite dish was sweet sour pork and fried fish which was fried just right. The beef chow fun could have fried longer in the wok. The tendon was yummy too and taste better in soups. By 11:30, the place got more busy with people, great value for sure.

Yelp
I have literally been coming here for years and years (5+) and I have yet to be tired of the food, service, restaurant etc. Golden Soup is the perfect location for lunch special since they have LUNCH SPECIAL DEALS UNTIL 6PM. That still blows my mind, even through this pandemic that held true which who wouldn't love that?! Also with the lunch special they give soup and free rice!! They serve the classic lunch special dishes at low prices of about $8.50 and pretty big plates. I always end up leaving with leftovers which yay for delicious foods for more than one meal. My gotos are the full fried fish, sweet and sour pineapple and pork, salt and pepper pork chops, and chow fun/or chow mein depending on my mood. All their items are hits for me though, so you really can't go wrong! Be sure to check out Golden Soup, it's been here for years and I see it as a Rosemead classic in my books

Yelp
They are closed down. Ceiling and walls are ripped open with debris all over the floor of entrance to the restaurant. No postings or explanation why closed down

Yelp
COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too except when eating and drinking. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor seating available with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty massive since they share the lot with several other establishments. The parking spots are decent. There are some underground parking available too. Food: I ordered a lotus root with onions and beef, pepper and salt fried fish, and beef with broccoli. When you order 3 entrees you can get a bowl of soup and box of rice for free. Portion wise, this restaurant gives a lot of food. The lotus root with onions and beef slices were okay. Not my favorite, but my parents loved it. They are a huge fan of lotus root. It was a bit spicy, which was perfect for them. I mainly just ate the onions and beef since I dislike lotus root. The pepper and salt fried fish were so delicious. I liked how tasty and mouthwatering it was. In addition, it was also very crunchy. The beef with broccoli were pretty flavorful too. The broccoli weren't tough and difficult to chew. It was very soft and easy to chew. The beef was hella bomb. I believe they put bean curd paste and soy sauce onto the beef and broccoli. The soup was a bone broth type of soup. Not sure which kind of bones, but it was great too. Staff: The staff here are very fast and welcoming. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

Yelp
My grandparents frequent this restaurant every week and we go sometimes for special occasions. Pretty much your typical Cantonese banquet style seafood restaurant. They do have lunch specials and it's very affordable. Food for the most part is decent, but for the price it is a great value. Menu is huge. There's lots of parking in the back plus underground parking. The restaurant is on the second floor. They have private rooms for reserved events, and they had set banquet meals too (at least before pandemic). Portion wise it is good. Overall a solid Canto style banquet restaurant. Here's what we ordered in my last visit (sorry I don't know the exact names in English): - House Chicken - Good. Standard chicken dish. - Pea Sprout - Good. Good quality vegetables, even though the waiter said it was a bit "older" it still passed - Honey Walnut Shrimp - Good. However a bit small in portion. Shrimp is expensive? -Filet Mignon with Broccoli - Good. The meat is very tender and has excellent black pepper sauce flavor. I like the broccoli too. - Seafood Tofu - Weak. It is stewed with certain aromatic leaves underneath but I wasn't a fan. Typically a common and tasty dish but the flavor was just not appealing in this one.

Yelp
This restaurant is where the Brothers Sun (Netflix) Triad Meeting was filmed! It feels gangsta! Authentic Chinese-Cantonese food at reasonable prices. Nothing fancy, just good food. Service is usually ok, but sometimes slow. Good, extensive lunch special menu. For those who aren't worried about prices and just want premium Chinese food and premium service for special occasions or business dinners, they have VIP private rooms where you can customize your dishes -- such as steamed Alaskan King Crab, sliced Geoduck sashimi-style, Lobster in many styles, French-cubed steak, etc. It's excellent, real Chinese food at a whole other level. The room minimum charges are reasonable but if you have to ask, the VIP room is probably not suited for you.

Yelp
Closed. Temporarily or Permanently? Girlfriend and I went to Golden soup and we were shocked to see that the area just outside the entrance is littered with building debris and red caution tape around the escalator. There is a red warning sign on the entrance doors that says 'DEMOLITION'. What happened? Are they remodeling or gone? No other signs.

Yelp
We were a party of 14 people. We ordered the $588 primarily seafood banquet menu: scallops, abalone, whole fish, shrimp, jellyfish, sea cucumbers, fried rice, soup, etc. Quantity & quality of food was good. Service was satisfactory. The restaurant was large & clean. Free parking is in the mall parking lot.

Yelp
Chinese food doesn't get as traditional as this. Most places get a mediocre rating. This place exceeds that! Food is priced correctly. The taste is what you would expect at a Chinese place. However, they got generous portion sizes and the employees there have good customer service. The worker's keep making me come back if I'm being completely honest! That doesn't happen at a lot of these places.

Yelp
This is our family's go to for lunch in San Gabriel- amazing selection (and prices) for their lunch special and every time I've been here, it's been crazy busy with lines for people waiting to dine. It's authentic, greasy Chinese food in a slightly dingy but huge space. The best part is it's part of tv history for Bosch fans lol. I recognized it immediately as the restaurant scene Eleanor Wish infiltrated an illegal Chinese poker game! Just for that, I have no problem coming back!

Yelp
Decent food, service as expected for a Chinese restaurant (not rude, but you might need to ask to be served or paid attention to). There was plenty of parking in the underground parking lot when we went on a Sunday weekend for lunch. This place is on the second floor and gets pretty packed. They also have free wifi, although you have to ask for it. Considering how many people/groups I saw milling about, it didn't take that long to get seated. Deep fried fish: hecking delicious. Shrimp fried rice: passable and actually tastes better after a night in the fridge and after a microwave session (weird, but I'm not complaining). Green beans: crunchy but still obviously cooked, although I prefer the slightly more blistered ones I normally get elsewhere. Braised pork belly (?): pretty good, definitely very soft almost melt-in-your-mouth feel.

Yelp
Their food's quality highly dependent on which items you ordered. Most of the time, we stick with the lunch special menu that ends at 5:30pm. Their best items are often hidden in the lunch special menu. IMO, their Singapore vermicelli is one of my favorites; it's very tasty with just the right amount of curry spice without the overwhelming strong aroma of curry. I wouldn't recommend the braised catfish w/ bean curd (very bland in flavor); thumbs down for this dish. I tried it so you wouldn't have to! Customer service is hit or miss but overall it's still decent than few others around here.
