The Golden Temple is overall an average restaurant. It is a very quiet place. The inside decor is pleasant but is dark. So dark at our table that we could not read the menu by the light of the small table candle. We mentioned this to the wait staff, and they initially suggested we use our cellphones to read it. When we appeared a bit put off by this suggestion, the waitstaff (not very friendly) offered to move us but the other adjacent tables were similarly dim, so we did not move. The problem was that they did not turn on the overhead recessed lights (see photo). My wife and I ordered egg drop soup and vegetable spring rolls appetizers, mandarin orange chicken, and chicken with broccoli. Rice must be ordered extra (we became aware of this only after we inquired). Once our order was taken, the soup was served almost immediately, but we had to wait a few minutes for the spring rolls. After just a few more minutes, we were in the middle of our appetizers, our main courses were set on the table. We were not quite ready for this, but what remained of the appetizer was set aside. The food was nicely presented, the vegetables were fresh, but it tasted bland. Our main courses were tepid (not hot). The spring rolls were greasy. The pricing is slightly more than average, and we have eaten at other nice restaurants that provide tastier food for the price we paid. It is a convenient walk from our home, and after 20 years of walking by it we tried it for the first time tonight, So, we were disappointed that it was not better. This is not a restaurant that we are likely to eat at again.
