"We’ve said some great things about the loaded fries and the fried chicken sandwich at Golden Tiger, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they put just as much time and effort into their burger. It comes as a double by default—our preferred arrangement for a smashburger—with shredded lettuce, pickles, red onions, american cheese, and a dousing of special sauce over a couple of thin smashed patties. "At Golden Tiger, located just outside of the popular East Side cocktail bar Whisler’s, you can get fried chicken sandwiches in three styles: original, Thai, or buffalo. Each features a deep-fried chicken thigh, which already gives them “juicy points,” but the sauces set them apart. The original has gochujang mayo, the Thai has sweet chili sauce, and the buffalo has (you guessed it) buffalo sauce. We’re fans of the Thai version that, in addition to the chili sauce, has shredded lettuce, pickled serranos, and red onions. "You may have heard about Golden Tiger for their excellent fried chicken sandwiches made with Asian-inspired flavors like gochujang mayo and sweet chili sauce—which we fully support as the centerpiece of your meal. But if you want to provide that sandwich with a little company, their Tiger Fries are packed full of unique flavors. "Golden Tiger is located on the patio of Whisler’s, and we couldn’t be more grateful. This burger does a perfect job of soaking up a couple of Old Fashioneds at the end of a night out on the East Side. The patties are smashed down until they look like little leather coasters, but a lot more fun to eat. Then they get topped with american cheese, shredded lettuce, and red onions that add a little bit of bite. This is a very classic smashburger that doesn’t disappoint. Your Order: Golden Burger ($12).
