Our local go-to for Chinese. They have always delivered quicker than they anticipated. Check out their specialties, My favorite is the beef and scallops it's great. Our normal go-to is the lo mein beef. It's not going to win any awards, but it's good. We like it every time.

Only 1-2 people are allowed in here at a time. It’s basically an enclosed order window instead of a sit down restaurant. The lady taking orders is very friendly and approachable, and my food came out quickly. The prices are great, and my food was still scorching hot when I got home. I had the sweet and sour chicken combination plate with the egg roll and pork fried rice. The chicken is tender, and the rice is flavorful and loaded with vegetables. The egg roll has just the right amount of crisp, and tastes the way an egg roll should. I will definitely order from here again!

We went here for the first time in years when our go to Chinese restaurant was closed. I was never a fan previously. However, if you haven’t tried them in a while I suggest you give them a try. I was surprised at how much better it was than I remember. The food was hot and delicious and the staff were friendly.

I’m an over the road truck driver/chef and I’m going to say…..the food was soo amazing!! I was full and just kept eating. If you were my child I would have to say I’m proud of you!!

Very good chinees food, but the website doesn't work! You can't register for an account so the only way to order is in person or by phone. Not a huge deal, but it is a bit odd to offer the "order online" option if it's not possible. There is no indoor seating, it's still covid-era blocked off by plastic sheeting.

I ordered Dragon & Phoenix, and it was great! A good portion of food, which also came with a container of white rice. The restaurant still has COVID-19 precautions in place, so the area you place your order in is quite small. Once you order and someone else wants to place an order, you must step back out onto the sidewalk. It was inconvenient as it was quite cold that day.

I’ve been going here since 2010. What happened to the FRIED DUMPLINGS? They use to be hand made and delicious. Now the dumplings taste cheap and awful like the premade freezer dumplings you can get from the Kroger. Wow I’m truly saddened by this. That iconic fried dumpling taste is no more :( Other than that I have no issue with the store.

I have given this place chance after chance after chance and today was my last straw. I always order the same thing. It's always Kung pow chicken today was my birthday. I ordered delivery. It did arrive timely and hot but the flavors of the Kung pow chicken were gross and the crab ragoons were uneditable due to how fishy they were. I have yet to find a great Chinese place here in Lexington and I am very disappointed that Goldenwok has again let me down. Also, I'm not paying almost 8$ for half of my food to be celery!

While we love their food, they are still asking customers to wait outside for their food. It would be nice if they would consider opening it up a bit for customers to wait inside... especially during inclement weather. Completely understand not wanting to have table service.

Orders Hunan Chicken and Chicken shrimp with veggies requests both extra spicy , we could barely taste any spice , not allot of flavor .

Mother came in to make sure she gave them the correct amount, she had realized they charged her less and wanted to make sure they got all their money. Because they're racist, the girl at the counter became hostile as soon as she mentioned money, even though she was trying to help their own mistake and give them more money.

Great food never disappointed with staff and food not a long wait at all. General tasos is always my favorite

Got lunch special of General Tso's Chicken. Hardly any sauce on the chicken, the lo mein was also very dry. The chicken was not hot and spicy. It was very bland. We did take out and they forgot the silverware, then argued that it was in the bag even after I told them we checked twice. Was very disappointed in the food quality as it used to be very good. It used to come with lots of sauce and usually a couple of pieces of steamed broccoli. We won't be back since price went up and quality went down.​

I was expecting to walk into a restaurant but nope they have window service Which I found odd but okay. I ordered the pork dumplings for 8.00 and that included tax. The woman at the window was friendly and my wait time was literally five minutes . They came out piping hot and fresh. I'm born&raised in New York so I've had a life time of trips to China Town. While these dumplings were good they weren't as good as other dumplings I've had here . Having said all this I'd go back and try something else.

Good is always hot and excellent. They keep saying my delivery would be in 30-45 minutes but 10 minutes later they show up with exactly what i ordered. I have ko idea how they do it, but they do it! (It may be because i only live a block away but still, they are VERY fast!) and super friendly. I really like these people!

We were so disappointed it's certainly not the quality of food that it used to be When we lived on that side of town, we would order there weekly and we were very happy with it we were back on that side of town, babysitting grandchildren, and every single dish was terrible I guess all things change.

It's alright fr the chicken was a little weird textured for me personally but the flavors were all there and the little walk up counter is such a smart idea I don't wanna go in a restaurant to order PERIOD

The food here is very common. It's not special in any way really. I really like the Chicken on a Stick appetizer. They are grilled to perfection and marinated in a salty marinade. The combos are a good value but you don't get as much rice as with the dinner. ***Where they really shine is DELIVERY!!!*** It's like they are magic or something. We don't know how they do it. They are ALWAYS busy and somehow when we order they show up in the blink of eye! It's amazing. I am going to time them sometime because it seems like 5 minutes and they show up at my door. We love that!

Cold food. Wrong order. Extra expensive. Such a disappointment. I wish there was a silver lining.

I would definitely recommend Golden Wok!!!! I ordered 2 boxes of shrimp fried rice with no vegetables and had it delivered to our suite. Delivery time: 25 minutes. Food accuracy: I asked for no vegetables but received them but I think my background was a bit loud and hard for her to hear me clearly. I called to inform her of the error and she sent me out a fresh order right away. The food was hot and super delicious Rate: 100/100!!!! Give it a try!!!

It has been a long time since I ate Chinese buffet. Here there is a very large selection including salad bar, and desserts ( did not eat those) and hot foods. I thought most of the Chinese dishes tasted similar as most used the same sauce and seasonings. The buffet was restocked with hot food while I was there. The egg roll was good and there was sushi on the cold bar. I had all I could eat for 11.99 but not sure I will return very soon.

Delicious food, best of all. Great customer service, doesn't ask for tips but when given shows appreciation and gratitude. Been a customer for over 10 years.

They are still pick up and take out only, but thats what I wanted. The Mongolian Beef had some real kick to it, it was great. Won Ton soup always comforting, it was great too. People were extremely freindly. I'll be back

So I was trying to go to another Chinese restaurant but ended up here by default. This is a good place. Sooooooo much better than Panda Express We tried the Hot n Sour soup... it was good and just enough quantity to hit the spot but not fill us up. For main dishes, the three of us ordered sesame chicken and Mongolian beef. Both came with white rice and then we also ordered chicken lowmein to go along. The sesame chicken was succulent and looked beautiful! The best thing was it wasn't overly sweet. The Mongolian beef was juicy and not chewy and had a good aroma and plenty of spring onions! Low Mein was ok. I'm assuming it's run by a husband n wife team. The service was quick.. a bit too quick because we were still on Soup when they brought out our food. Also, the lady needs to work on her customer service skills. The bill for 3 soup bowls, the food described above and 3 sodas was a kind $39... not bad! 2 people can easily share an entree.

This is 100% the best Chinese food I have had in a long time. We ordered pickup to bring home after shopping and it was fast and easy to place and pickup my order! Will be getting again for sure!

Delicious and full of flavor and culture! Ordered delivery and food was delivered on time and still warm/intact. I decided to try out a dish called Da Chien chicken, which led me down an interesting rabbit hole of research to uncover the dish's origins and how Chinese food was brought to America and to Japan. So tasty and wonderful, will be ordering here again soon.

With 4/5 states previous to this review I figured Golden Wok must be a fine place to grab Chinese food.. but it cool couldn't be further from the truth. I have never had such a bad case of food poisoning in all of my time. For reference. I got a chicken dish.

This place is awesome, and the food is wonderful. fresh. fresh. fresh. The flavors were incredible on the egg foo yung. Lunch for 2 with apps was $38. worth every penny and they deliver themselves. definitely our go-to Chinese delivery. Good job Golden wok!!!!

I've been here several times and every time the service and the food have been exceptional and fast. I usually get the general Tso's chicken. It's more than enough food and I usually have it for lunch the next day. Interesting to note that while there is a large dining area I never see anyone sitting in it.

Coming with obviously hungry and tired kids and a full 40 minutes before their supposed closing time of 10:30 pm they unceremoniously said that unless we were picking up take out they wouldn't serve us! #bad As a business owner I encourage their owner to review these practices with this employee. No matter how good their food is all their efforts go to heck by behaviors like this.

Typical fast food Chinese (reminds me of the ones in mall food courts) but overall it was good, standard Chinese fast food. Nothing spectacular but nothing wrong.

It is pretty good Americanized Chinese food, and Golden Wok delivers so that is a plus. I love their soups and their pork egg foo yung. I personally love their chicken chow mein too. Fyi, the veggies are a little overcooked. Another plus is that Golden Wok gives you plenty of food!

Consistently good. Doing take-out for over three years, and we've never been disappointed. Portions are large.

I love this place!! It is our go to for delivery and has the best Chicken Lo Mein around! Their delivery has always been super quick and goes above and beyond...including during a snow storm.

First time eating here. Upon entrance it looks like any other small, cheap, Chinese to-go restaurant. No big qualms there. It fit the bill for what I was looking for. I was greeted by the young lady working the counter, but for some reason perhaps she wasn't having a great day, She was very impatient during my selection and came off a bit rude...nonetheless, I ordered the General Tso's lunch combo and was told it would be a ten minute wait. When I came back to get the food it was FRESH! And delicious! I was blown away by the quality. Totally worth the wait and the seemingly unfriendly counter girl. Great prices too for the amount of food that you're given. I'm giving them a 5-star rating on the basis that everyone has bad days, so I'm willing to let it go based on the fact that their food was unbelievable and she seemed to have perked up on my return. :D

My go-to Chinese place when I'm in Lexington. I usually get their beef lo-mein, curry chicken or General Tso chicken, which tastes great and is fairly priced for the amount of food you get. While I've never dined inside, it always looks very clean, which is another thing I like about them. Also, the staff seems very friendly and has always gotten my order right.

General Tso chicken was tough and chewy, every piece--the standard frozen substandard breaded chicken where they glop sauce on top and bam, there's your general Tso chicken. Also ordered sesame chicken--it was the same sauce with sesame seeds on top. The general Tso was not spicy at all, more like a sticky oversweet BBQ sauce. While I was very hungry, I could only eat about a third and had to spit out some of the gristley unchewable pieces. The fried rice was bright yellow rice-a-roni and had just a small scattering of peas carrots and so forth. There were exactly two pieces of broccoli per entree, one piece split in half. My son wanted to go to Panda Express but I insisted on this place based on the good yelp reviews. That was a mistake and my son was right. The egg rolls were OK and the hot&sour soup was passable. I kind of expected forks/napkins or chopsticks would be included in bag, but none were. Lots of soy sauce and duck sauce were included along with fortune cookies and two very dry sugar cookies (dessert?). To their credit the food was all hot, prepared quickly and cheap. The most critical element of a chicken dish is the chicken--chewy and gristle-laden dried out chicken that was obviously just a frozen mix does not cut it.

I have enjoyed this place for 15 years...always good service and always great food! With all the restaurants who have come and gone in this area they have stood the test of time...great place for Christmas Eve as well! Highly recommend the Singapore style mei fun...never disappoints! Hot and sour soup also a great choice.

First Chinese place down here and I'm already like wow! I saw the reviews and I still think this food was better than the places I use to live. The food came out fast and hot. The rice was so amazing. The egg roll was kinda small but who cares because they had orange chicken on the lunch menu. Which I've never seen before! I'll be eating here more down the line.

One of the best Chinese places in Lexington! (Although, there are a few) I order here quite regularly and the people are always polite, the food is always pipping hot and delicious, delivery is always fast. I've never had a bad experience with Golden Wok. Any time I order Chinese, it's almost always Golden Wok. I primarily order General Tso's, Sesame Chicken and Egg Drop Soup.

Learned about this place from a coupon on the back of a Kroger receipt. Just like other coupons on the back of a Kroger receipt, I thought that this restaurant would have been a cheap, waste of time kind of place. After eating a meal from this place, I was astounded by the quality of the food and the pricing. Such a great deal of food for an affordable price. I would suggest going there for lunch because it is way cheaper and getting a box to carry out food for dinner. Yeah, I know it's a cheap thing to do. Good stuff though.

This is by far the best chinese food I have had. When I first moved here, I attempted other chinese restaurant to help fill the need, but thay all fell short. The customer service is hit or miss. Sometimes they are patient, and sometimes they just want to get your order to move on to the next reason. I never care (one of very few places were staff does not effect the rating).

We are new to Lexington so Golden wok is the first Chinese place we have tried since moving here. Very disappointed. Ordered the chicken and broccoli combination platter... it didn't even have sauce on it. The chicken was not of good quality. We also ordered the crab Rangoon and it basically tasted like cream cheese and that was it. I gave two stars because the only thing I actually liked were the egg rolls. Won't be ordering from here again.

Just ordered delivery and the food smells rank, chicken and broccoli taste rotten. $13 I would expect better, threw it out. Chicken with mixed vegetables I get all the time at other places, and this was not safe to eat at all. Use to be good, sad to see it gone down hill. Please be careful if you order from them. Not worth it to risk your health.
