Straight up, I'm not a grid dweller - therefore, there are a lot of holes in my grid knowledge. I venture down from time-to-time and usually enjoy the experience - but when I do, it's directly to a pre-planned destination... a "get in and get out" approach that seems pretty common with my non-grid friends.
Until recently, I didn't know about Goldfield and therefore it was never the target of any of my get in and get out missions.
Until... Taco Mafia. I give full credit to Taco Mafia for bringing me here.
I've crossed paths with Jenn Brian several times over the last couple of years - we have a common friends and I've been lucky enough to get invited to a couple of her movies and so on. Some time in the past year, she started talking about this "Taco Mafia" thing and, well, duh - I like a good taco! And I like fun! And this Taco Mafia thing looked like it would deliver both!
And it did.
I've been on a taco binge recently - as I write, I'm on a five night taco eating streak at five different locations. Goldfield was night #4, and I've got to say their tacos were among the best.
I'll admit it took me a little bit to get my order in. They were busy! I was hungry! The bar was completely packed... no place to squeeze in without force, so I did an end-around and hit one of the open ends of the bar. A little persistence paid off, and my order was rolling AND I had a margarita in hand. Once I got the order in, the food didn't take long at all to appear (and subsequently disappear). I had some crunchy tacos and the quesapizza - both were creative and tasty!
After fueling up - I followed the music back to where the action was (where most of the Taco Mafia people were hanging out). They had a very capable DJ - the sound quality and music choices were good for dancing and quite a few were dancing - lots of fun and mingling! Working those tacos off!
I had a great time - will very likely be back - especially on a Taco Mafia night. Fun group and looking forward to getting to know more of them.
