"Across the sound on Whidbey Island, a pizza chef formerly from Delancey unveiled Goldie’s. You can expect similarly charred pies with toppings like sausage and grana or pepperoni and grana. Elsewhere on the menu are wood-fired vegetables and tiramisu, with pasta pending." - kayla sager riley, aimee rizzo

Small inside with outside, heated seating. The food is unique and FANTASTIC! The Farm was amazing, perfect size for two people to share. The house salad is unique and the Knots are awesome. The flavors are abundant! The staff was gracious and even provided water for our dog. Great spot in Coupeville!

Stumbled upon here as it was one of the only places with decent outdoor seating and my brother had his two big dogs. The staff was so amazing, turned on the heaters, brought us blankets, and we're just overall friendly. Despite being busy, our two pizzas came out quickly and tasted amazing. On the higher end price wise for pizza but it tasted like quality ingredients so I think it's worth it and will be back.

Goldie's and The Roost offers a delightful dining experience with super fresh and delicious ingredients. We tried the green salad, woodfire corn, grilled pepper, and a pasture pizza, and everything met our high expectations. The flavors were spot on, making for a truly enjoyable meal. However, we did find the prices to be a bit on the expensive side. While the quality of the food justifies the cost, it’s definitely a splurge. If you're willing to spend a little extra for great food, Goldie's and The Roost is worth a visit.

Google
Great location, pleasant and attentive staff. The food was fresh and came out quickly. We got the Pasture pizza to share. It was good, but honestly, the chili oil on the pizza was very spicy and overpowered the rest of the ingredients. I would recommend putting the chili oil in a side bowl, and then you can dip or put it on as much or as little you want. We would come back because the service and the quality ingredients are there for sure. Next time, we will just remove the chili oil from our pie.

We loved Ciaos which was in this location before, and we had heard good things about the new owner and so decided to try it for lunch today. I was not disappointed. We had the pastor pizza with a fava, bean pesto and salami and caramelized onions, it was both sweet and savory and really popping with flavor. It was a beautiful afternoon and both inside and outside, busy with very satisfied, looking, smiles all around. We will be back to try some of the other specialty pizzas!

Google
Great selection of pizza and beer! Enjoyed a nice fall day eating outside. The service was top notch and the pizza is delicious! Hard to find an east coast/Neapolitan wood fire style pizza in Washington.

Google
A wonderful new addition to Coupeville! The restaurant vibes (inside and out) are bright, clean, and welcoming. Food is excellent with a great local drink menu. We ordered the house salad (great sharing size for two people), the Not-Knots (heavenly garlicky focaccia bites), and the kale pizza (rich, complex, satisfying). The pizza dough strikes a great balance between chewy and crispy with a delicious sourdough tang. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel like regulars, even though it was our first time here. They even brought out some house-made doggie biscuits for our pups. Fantastic experience—will return here many times!

Google
Great pizza served wherever - outside with some great covered seating and heat lamps, downstairs with a nice open space and a look at the kitchen, or upstairs in a really cool setting that's warm and fun. Amazing drinks served at the bar upstairs. There is a great selection of beers, ciders and wines served downstairs. Great food, friendly and awesome staff. Always look to come here when home.

Yelp
My husband and I were staying nearby at Captain Whidbey and came in for dinner after it being recommended by another guest at our hotel. The food was amazing! We had the radicchio salad, the not knots, kale pizza and the mushroom pasta. All were so good. We also had wine and a cocktail and really liked both. This will definitely be a place we have to come back to now when we visit the island. Staff was also very friendly and offered to make us another pasta after my husband dropped his leftovers accidentally. Which was a very nice gesture. We declined but appreciated the offer.

Yelp
We came searching for Ciao, not realizing it had closed. When we saw a pizza place in the same location, we were excited to try it! However, we ended up rather disappointed. Goldie's is definitely a hipster-type location. Upstairs is now only for 21+, leaving the first floor for those with younger dinner companions. It's an attractive place, but the whole vibe is more of a hipster hangout than a casual place to grab dinner with the family. There is no sign to indicate that patrons should order at the counter, so we sat at a table (that we were directed to by one of the workers) waiting for menus. Finally, when no one came, we figured it out. We ordered at the counter. There was a group of guys working and chatting in the kitchen, but only one to help customers. This made service slow. The one server took orders, brought out food and drinks, and responded to customer requests. He was stretched too thin, perhaps. Overall, the food was fine. The pizza was quite tasty, albeit pricey for what it is. A cheese pizza is $20, and it goes up from there. Had it been "fancier" pizza, it would have felt "worth it". A glass of wine is ridiculously expensive, which is a bummer when you're going for Italian food. Overall, it gets a 3/5, losing points for being too expensive for a counter-style restaurant without much table service with decent (but not extravagantly delicious) food.

Yelp
Let me start by saying, the service here was excellent. Our waitress last night was a younger black haired woman, who was a delight. I could not have asked for better service. That being said, let's talk about the food, first, the garlic knots *chefs kiss* but the pizza... Ok, how do I put this.... So, I have this thing called the try hard theory, meaning if a restaurant has mediocre food, they will Gorden Ramsey the place up, to try and make it more appealing. In the case of a Try Hard restaurant you get crazy food that doesn't make sense. In this specific case, " wild hand picked mushrooms" for instance.... Or house made sausage that adds $8.00 to your pizza. As a chef, and someone who has worked, managed and owned businesses in the food industry. Let me explain to you about food, it doesn't need to try hard, if it's good. Extra toppings on your pizza shouldn't be carrots and squash for 4 dollars each, and imported Greek olives, and hand picked wild forged mushrooms. Pizza is good. It speaks for itself. You have a great advantage just by your wood fired oven, you have a great crust, you even have a reasonable sauce. You have the basics down! You could literally slap a craft American singles on top and it would be ok pizza. But when you try hard. Telling me about the farm down the street that supplies the specific basil leaf you use... We don't care! It's awesome that you're doing that, but it translates into more dollars spent and less satisfaction. Seriously, if I could have just said supreme, or ham and pineapple, and not have to learn that the pig the bacon is harvested from was named Doris, that would be cool. All I am saying is, you forgot where you came from dude. go back to the basics. pizza speaks for itself, your wait staff speaks for themselves, the atmosphere is a whole vibe. This is a DOPE place. Get good ingredients, sure, but we don't need imported onions from the French region of Monteblu... Long story short, It would have gotten 2 more stars if it stopped trying hard, and started being what it is, A wood fired pizza with great service, and hip vibe

Alli G.

Yelp
Visiting the island this weekend and enjoyed some pizza here! I love how they decorate for Halloween. The place gives the same cozy vibes as most places on the island. I love that they use local ingredients. The radicchio salad was very good, pizza and not knots were pretty good too. Ambiance was the star of the show. The only thing that wasn't great was the service...we waited a while for our drinks and no one was especially friendly. If I could give half stars I'd give this place a 3.5

Yelp
Goldie's is a PNW gem. Artisan pizza guided by the experienced flour covered hands of Seddy and the rest of the crew. Goldie's has a fresh and rotating menu centered on exceptional pizza, pasta, and cocktails. Pizza options include a provocative variety of "standard" pies (all of which are exceptional), plus rotating vegan, vegetarian, and meat-included specials, plus daily specials add-ons. Personal favorites include the white pie, the tomato pie, the pepperoni, the sausage, and the "farm", which usually includes artisan bacon. The salads, not-knots (focaccia garlic bites), and vegetable sides are rotating surprise and delight moments, supplemented by a caring and hard-working staff. Highly recommended for casual fun in Coupeville!

Gina D.

Yelp
The staff was fantastic, so helpful and nice. The wood fired corn was delicious! I tried to cut the kernels off work a knife and fork. I later learned the best way is to pick it up with your hands and bite! It was delicious either way. We had the pepperoni pizza. I was worried at first that the crust was burnt, but as we dug in, it wasn't and tasted amazing! The olives and almonds were also delicious. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Nestled amongst Coupeville's boutiques, fine seafood fare and the many charming bed and breakfasts' you'll find Goldie's. This new, wood-fired pizza restaurant and bar currently has a limited menu with plans to expand upon it very soon. You'll savor every bite of one of their artesian pizzas. Even the crust cannot be left behind. Looking for an adult-only environment? Make your way to the second floor which is strictly for ages 21 and older. There you'll find many seating options ranging from tables to bar seating, and that's only inside. Make your way to the deck where you can enjoy serene views of the cove while relaxing on one of the snug, outdoor couches. We arrived at 5:30pm and had no issues finding seating for two at the bar. We left around 7:30pm with full bellies and a significant increase in customers. Amongst Coupeville's seafood restaurants, Goldie's compliments the options very well. Come check out Coupeville's posh pizza joint.

Yelp
Pizza was burnt. Took a long time for it to be made. Paid 1.50 for hot honey on top barely tasted it. The service was okay, not like it used to be when it was Ciao. Save your money go to Modpizza in oak harbor. Same size pizza, better tasting ingredients at Modpizza in Oak Harbor. The lemonade was bitter, something tasted off about it. Would not return and sad cause when it was ciao it was so good.

Yelp
We stayed in Clinton for a bit and met some locals that said go up to Coupeville, take the sculpture art park walk and then go eat at this divine pizza place called Goldie's. Was a little nervous as the photos in previous reviews showed burnt or dark pizza. We ordered the kale pizza and it was delicious. The service was great; had wonderful recs to go to the 60th anniversary market in downtown, and talked to us about other local things to do and eat. These guys are super nice and they make great food!

Curt H.

Yelp
If you are looking for an oven crisp crust and fresh ingredients, this is the place. My pizza was a bit burned so that took a bit away from the taste of the toppings and sauce. My order was taken in a timely manner and the remake of the store is nice. It has a warm feel to it and they have made a good effort of making a nice outside dining area.

Genny V.

Yelp
Less than average at best. We used to come here when it was Ciao. You order at the counter and pay in advance including tip. They forgot to bring our drinks out we had to ask. The "Tomato Pie" was $20. It came out burnt. The sauce tasted like store bought with a little bit of parmesan cheese sprinkled. Even that cheese reminded me of something by Kraft. Was this supposed to be their version of a margherita pizza? It needed mozzarella if so, but thanks for adding whole basil leaves. As for the drinks, way overpriced for hardly anything. Sadly, we will not recommend or be back. We miss Ciao.

Yelp
10/10 wow great food. Wait staff are sent straight from heaven, they're that amazing. Honestly amazing ambiance, lowkey, family friendly and some good beer. Decor is artsy plant lovers. Beer choice encompasses the pnw ipas, to the Californian wines. The pizzas are thin crust but not too thin and some farm to table toppings, but don't forget those apps! Satisfy hunger pains throughout whidbey island

Anna L.

Yelp
Best food on the island! Delicious wood fired pizzas, salads are always impeccable, and the drink menu is great. The staff are so kind and awesome.

Ryan H.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance. Friendly service too! A great addition to the neighborhood. Fun for the whole family.

Aaron N.

Yelp
Amazing salad! Phenomenal pizza! Everything we tried was excellent!! Try it, sit inside or out!

Kevin G.

Yelp
Nice homie ambiance and we chose to sit upstairs to take advantage of the great view of Penn Cove and the bars happy hour. We sat inside by the window but there was plenty of good seating outside on the deck. The drinks were tasty and strong but small. We started with a house salad which was very tasty. We got a pepperoni pizza and added some veggies to it. The fire roasted crust was cooked just right, yummy cheese and overall quite good. The service was friendly and attentive. Considering how small Coupeville is this restaurant was a pleasant surprise and I would definitely recommend it.

Aaron C.

Yelp
Same "folks" who used to run and operate the best restaurant in Coupeville - the Oystercatcher! They decided to try something else after the known by ALL COVID s-show. They retained some of their best staff, and have the best damn white pizza I've had since I can remember and their cocktails are amazing. If you are into mezcal, you'll see the one with the black salt, do eeeeeeeet! You are welcome Washington State. These owners e f ing rock AND roll. Happy to have their pies as an option here on the Southern portion of THE ROCK.

Acacia Z.

Yelp
This was the best pizza I have ever had! The staff was sooo friendly and nice! They offered my pup treats and a water bowl! And the music they were playing really added to the ambience! Such a cute place! I want to try everything on the menu now

Sean R.

Yelp
Pizza was burnt and incredibly tiny. Pizza was served at 730 on Sept 28th. Posting so owner can observe the quality of food being passed out.

Yvonne D.

Yelp
The pizza by the pie vs pizza by the slice are two completely different pizza styles even though thank you the "flour we use is the same for both" The pizza by the pie is what I prefer (wood fire not thick crust but not thin) than the pizza by the slice which is "Roman style on ciabatta bread". I thought when I ordered pizza by the slice I was getting a slice of what we previously ordered when we got a pepperoni pizza to go--it is NOT

Robert L.

Yelp
Well ... we miss Ciao so much but wanted to try the new spot and support local. A+ for the idea and effort to use local ingredientsedients and homemade as much as possible. That said the Pizza was disappointing on a number of levels. The wheat crust has to be cooked so hard that it comes out burnt. The bitter taste is a bummer and the aged Mazza along with the Reggiano is extremely salty. The people are very nice and helpful but it feels like a food court spot at the mall. The size of the pizza is the same as Ciao but almost $10 more..... yikes.

Britt S.

Yelp
Goldie's is a gold mine of high quality gourmet delights! I am excited to go back and try more. The staff are very nice as well, a great experience!

Pam M.

Yelp
Tried them for the first time last night. We had the sausage pizza, husband had 3 draft beers, I had one, plus the tiramisu. The pizza was very thin and soggy (except the edges, which were a bit burnt). The beer was good, but the husband's was $13 each and mine was $8! The tiramisu, at $8, came in a plastic disposable cup. We sat at the bar, service was so-so. As a local, I was happy to see another restaurant come in after Cio's, but I'm sorry, will not spend that kind of money for mediocre.

Sheila G.

Yelp
Amazing vegan, vegetarian and meat lovers options. Cocktail bar upstairs is fire and the mixologists are fabulous. Great for a date night too!

Harry L.

Yelp
We are upstairs at the Roost which offers table service. The staff was very friendly and provided good service The wood fired pizza was legitimate. Sure it will improve with repetition. But those reviews about the pizza being burnt don't know what a wood fired pizza should be. Salad was also good Wine list is too expensive for what they offered. you might want to bring a bottle and pay corkage. They need to offer a good $15 - 20/liter house red

Johann S.

Yelp
What a great place! It has an awesome outdoor seating area, some of which is under the shade of a gorgeous tree. The inside is light, simple and fun. Sitting indoors we got to see cooks cooking pizza after pizza in their traditional, wood-burning, clay oven, and the serving staff was extremely competent and professional, and yet also laid-back and fun. Oh, and the food was terrific!! It seemed like all the ingredients were locally sourced and it tasted complex yet very good (my little ones enjoyed everything!). My family will definitely be joining them again soon!

Joey J.

Yelp
not great . not terrible 36$ for a medium pizza the tip as you pay at the counter kind of place .

Yasho B.

Yelp
Food was made by 20 year olds and was not good. Bad lighting. Lemonade was $6. The pizza was $24 each for pizza the same as mod. The service was bad.

Celina S.

Yelp
Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. They have fun outdoor seating with large sized versions of Jenga and Connect Four. The salad was delish but the pizza was so bad! Idk if our dough went rancid, but it was very sour tasting. Such a disappointment! Unfortunately, we took it to go, or we'd have sent it back to the kitchen. Didn't finish it was so bad and I'm happy with frozen pizza, so I think that says something... Hope this was a fluke, otherwise they really need to look at their dough recipe.

Evan G.

Yelp
so cute, absolutely delicious. highly recommend! great pizza and cocktails. really enjoyed the spicy honey pepperoni

Severne J.

Yelp
Lots of good food, but the wood-fired corn is head and shoulders above the rest of the menu here or anywhere else in Coupeville.

Kim C.

Yelp
The Roasted Beet salad with citrus dressing! Wowzzzaaa ! The drinks made were the best on all Whidbey Island ! All I heard were people raving about the pizzas and food ! You have to go there !

David B.

Yelp
The pizza is fabulous !!! The crust was perfect and the white pie is addicting. Worth the drive from South Island. We will be back!!!

Gary W.

Yelp
Favorite new place on Whidbey Island! Pizza's are great and Lucas is a fabulous bartender!

Lourdes V.

Yelp
Wish I had read the reviews before coming here. As another person posted, the pizza was burned. Even after picking out the burnt parts, the pizza wasn't that tasty. There are other options on Whidbey Island that are far better.

Patty C.

Yelp
I couldn't believe that they served me a pizza that was partially burnt. They need to regulate the temperature of their wood-fired oven better. I kept trying to figure out why the pizza was so dry and hard to swallow and finally realized....they forgot the sauce. I also had a salad with tomatillo dressing. The greens were nice and fresh and I was happy that it was the perfect amount of dressing. The problem is that the dressing was completely tasteless and I could only taste the greens. I liked the addition of pumpkin seeds, but the doughy bread-like substance on top I was not a fan of. I guess they were breadcrumbs? We will try our luck again in the future, but I am not in a hurry.

Timothy L.

Yelp
If you like burned pizza you will love this place! The bacon was litterally charcoal! Crust was as black as the rolling stones "paint it black!" The atmosphere was good but they would benefit from some sound absorbing panels. We will give them another try, but they need to get the wood-burning stove down.

Kevin H.

Yelp
Pizza is amazing and service was outstanding. Their wood fire pizza was legit! For some who says it's burnt, they have no idea what wood fire pizza is. Their "tomato sauce" pizza was super good- tomato sauce was on point and Parmesan nothing like "Kraft." If one reads a menu, one sees it's not called a margarita and therefore does not have mozz on it. Don't trust dummies, this place is legit. Our green salad was super fresh and the dressing was on point. They even gave us a slice of cheese an hour after their advertised end time for slices which saved the dinner for our toddler. If you are into Pac NW cuisine and wood fired pizza, this is your place!

Stacy H.

Yelp
I haven't had pizza this amazing in a very long time! We went on a Monday evening and it was very busy. Because it is very, very good! Lots of off-island summer tourists and Seattle hipsters, but it's also wonderful to have such an amazing option for the Islanders as well. Service was quick even though they were slammed and the set up was efficient. Order at the counter, find a place to sit and they will bring you your food. No waiting for a table! Great outdoor and indoor seating. Relaxed atmosphere with cornhole and a fantastic selection of beers on tap. Knowing that this chef runs Delancey's and that this restaurant is a collaboration with the fab Oystercatcher restaurant and Little Red He Bakery/bread meant I had high expectations and Goldie's did not disappoint. As they build out the restaurant and their menu I hear they are adding pasta soon. Can't wait to return to try it! We will return over and over again! Highly recommend.

Patti O. F.

Yelp
fire roasted beet salad, yes. pizza, yes. cocktails and mocktails, omg, yes! yes! yes!! crafted with genius, served with style, so much love.
