UPDATE-11/2024 Not sure what happened to this place. The young Korean couple who ran the place were not there. Maybe they sold the business or hired different people to takeover. The menu changed & the quality waned. The Korean food no longer tastes Korean. The courteous Korean service was also long gone. This place now falls into the Seattle abyss of low quality Korean restaurant options. I no longer recommend 👎 UPDATE-4/24/2022 Thank you GoldinBlack for reading/replying to my review! The new stainless steel chopsticks are an excellent upgrade. Food is still delicious, very good quality & friendly service. 감사합니다 😄 Hidden South Korean gem in Seattle's busy lower Queen Anne neighborhood; recent interior renovations are modern, minimalist & clean; menu is not really fusion but basically traditional with a slightly contemporary flavor, somewhat limited but several familiar staples like 김치볶음밥 (kimchi fried rice) and 떡만두국 (rice cake dumpling soup) are prepared with fresh ingredients; soft tofu soup (stew) has a subtle difference in taste than one usually expects but still delicious and healthy; 반찬 (traditional side dishes) are not included like at most Korean restaurants, however, some entrees have add-on options; other menu items include strEats like bulgogi sandwiches, tacos & 떡볶이 (spicy rice cakes); also serving yummy kimchi pancakes & Korean alcoholic beverages: 소주, 막걸리; overall good quality but cheap Chinese takeout chopsticks should be upgraded with aluminum for dine-in customers; friendly owners; definitely worth a visit; support your local restaurants & small businesses 👍😄

This pains me to write this, as this used to be the best place to get Korean food with an extensive menu in Seattle. The older woman and man who used to work here were incredible! Sadly, it looks to be run by different people now, who serve food that isn't up to its former glory. Jajangmyeon used to be incredible. They used to have so many great dishes. Sadly, this is far from Korean food anymore. It's fusion now. As for a restaurant now, it's still a place to eat for the atmosphere. Hope they can figure out the secret that the former restaurant had to get back on track.

Google
I was craving some good Korean food. We looked at the 4.7 stars review. We got there and there is an older lady and two young men working. Very polite. The menu looked so odd!!!! Mentioning ramen and Korean something with Chinese style? We should have left but we decided to try it. We were served plain water. No Kimchi came with our food just a little bit of spicy kimchi cabbage. I also ordered Sondubu that was just w tofu and random gross veggies. Soup always comes out boiling hot but this one was microwaved for 20 minutes and tasted sweet and nasty. I blew cold air but still burned my lip and gave me a blister!!! This was the worst Korean food I’ve ever had, and the prices $$$$ did not match the quality. Their stir fried noodles was just horrible… just wow, either the owner changed or the people that gave this place good reviews were high! Nice family but just can’t cook Korean food.

Ben

Google
Take out review: Ordered some hot noodle soup and the dumplings for a quick lunch. It was not too bad but the noodle soup was quite subtle and flavorless. I guess if I was trying to cut on my sodium then I would appreciate it more haha. The dumplings weren't too bad actually. Not too special or anything but I guess I might come back for a quick lunch if I'm nearby again. Food: 5/10 Value: 4/10

This place is absolutely phenomenal. I got the bibimbap escape and my bf got the tteokbokki and both were perfectly done. I don’t think I’ve ever had better bibimbap, it was perfectly seasoned. The woman who runs this place is also the sweetest and a total delight. We’ve been here a number of times now, it’s a new favorite!

Update 5/31/2019:. They are OPEN! They were closed for some time as the landlord had the building under construction. Current off of 30% off until June. Delicious Korean food at a decent price point. The staff is super friendly and very helpful with my allergy requirements. The food is spectacular. I highly recommend the BokkeumTang (bulgogi beef stew). You also can't go wrong with the Kimchi Jeon (kimchi pancake). This is definitely on our weekly list.

Very tasty and spicy food the bibimbap escape was very spicy and was a very large portion. The food came in about 10 minutes so very timely. Nice space to relax with a meal

Yelp
A nice and cozy Korean restaurant to eat at if youre around Queen Anne. We had their Kimchi & Spicy Pork Bulgogi, and their potstickers. The Kimchi & Spicy Pork Bulgogi was good and flavorful, and the portion was decent. However, it was $21 which is more on the pricey side. Their potstickers were good as well. I like how wasn't too oily or "heavy." The ambiance of the restaurant was great! It was well organized and the lighting gave it a nice place to enjoy dinner for a date or with friends. There's a decent amount of seating so that's nice. The service was good. The servers were nice and helpful. The food didn't take long to make at all. I had a good experience here, but this restaurant wouldn't be my good-to spot for a Korean restaurant.

Yelp
Went to GoldinBlack for dinner around 6 PM, and we (me + 1) were immediately seated. There were plenty of tables in a nice, quiet atmosphere. To start, we ordered the shrimp spring roll as an appetizer; it was pretty plain yet refreshing on a hot day. The standout dishes were the entrees. I ordered the Heritage Bulgogi and Veggies with pork, and my fiancée ordered the BibimBap Escape with beef. The veggies were fresh and slightly crispy--not overcooked. The pork and beef both had excellent flavor, and the portion size was enough to be filling but not enough for leftovers. I also had the Cinnamon Ginger Punch, which reminded me of Horchata without the milk. I would definitely eat here again.

Yelp
Honestly one of the best Korean places I've ever been too! My go to place for their ramen. Their kimchi is one of the best. Usually pretty empty. Their ramen is a chicken ramen with kimchi on the side I think? But all in all, really great place!

Yelp
The veggie noodle soup with veggie mandu and tofu fresh rolls were good. I was very happy with the amount of tofu and ratio of tofu and mandu to vegetables. The soup broth was good on garlic but I did add some soy and sriracha to add a little more flavor depth. My partner got the beef stir fry which he said was eh. He felt the noodles were tasty but the beef and vegetables were not very flavorful and wouldn't order it again. The service was good overall and we had waters refilled frequently. You do go up to pay at the register and bus your table yourself though. Ambiance wise it was nice - I think they were going for classy with the decor and jazz music. I think their menu had a lot of veggie and even vegan options compared to most Korean spots so I appreciated that and would return to try more.

Yelp
I think this is gem for takeout in the neighborhood. The gimmari appetizer was yummy. All the food is made fresh and hot when brought out. They do not serve any alcohol. The decor inside seems like it was borrowed from a different cafe. It was quiet and warm on a cold rainy night.

Yelp
It's a lowkey, quiet place in a busy area. The food was decent, but pricey. I wouldn't say it's traditional Korean -- my soondubu was a bit sweeter than what I'm used to and most importantly, they don't serve banchan. The service was very polite, but not that attentive. I ended up walking up to the cashier to pay.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came to GoldinBlack in search of some easy Korean food, and we found some! I ordered the Janchi Guksu (cold noodles with many vegetables), and he ordered the Bibimbap. GoldinBlack, unlike many other restaurants, is REALLY healthy - I may be wrong but it seems like all the ingredients are organic. I love how the food made me feel, yet I wish that there was a bit more protein in the dishes. The Janchi Guksu was really great, I was looking for something similar to Naengmyeon, and the Guksu had a similar vinegar-y soup that I was craving on a hot day. I wish the items came with some banchan/side dishes, since that's a big staple at most Korean restaurants, but that was the only real con.

Karishma A.

Yelp
**vegetarian review** - actual rating 3.5 I did take out and got the kimchi pancake and the noodles (manduguk). The food was well packaged. The kimchi pancake was very well done - it was very flavourful, and the dipping sauce was nice! The manduguk - was less spicy than I prefer, but I loved the quantity of vegetables in it. The dumpling was quite nice. I can see myself ordering more often from here! Its not bad - not extraordinary

Yelp
Hidden gem! Delicious. We ordered the Tteokbokki and bibimbap for a late lunch and really enjoyed the freshness of the meal. Filling and flavorful. Definitely recommend this place for lunch.

Yelp
Came by this restaurant after a show over in Seattle Center. It had been on my list of places to try for a while as I had heard good things about it online. The restaurant itself is quite small with only a few tables and it wasn't too busy when my party arrived so we were able to get a table for 4 immediately. The restaurant seemed to be a bit understaffed that day as there was just one person taking orders and serving the tables and it seemed that they were a bit behind on some pick-up/mobile orders as there were customers waiting. As was to be expected given this early warning sign, our food was a bit slow out of the kitchen. The person serving the tables was very apologetic about the delay and kind about it. The menu mostly consisted of items that you would expect to see at a Korean restaurant (Sundubu/Kimchi Jjigae, Bibimbap, etc) with a few unexpected finds like the Kimchi Bulgogi Tacos. I ended up ordering the GoldinBlack Jajang since it had a star next to it on the menu so I figured it had to be good :). The other members of my group ordered the Bulgogi Avocado Rolls, Beef Stir-Fry with Rice, and the Bulgogi Kimchi Stew so I was also able to try these dishes. I really enjoyed the Jajang. It was a generous portion of rice accompanied with a black sauce with my chosen meat (chicken) and various vegetables and a poached egg on top. The black bean sauce was very rich and flavorful but maybe a little bit on the salty side. The chicken and veggies were well done though I wish the egg was a bit runnier. The avocado rolls were interesting as it felt a bit like a sushi roll in composition (but replacing meat for the fish). The avocado and the creamy sauces on top melted in the mouth and went really together well. But there there seemed to be something a bit off with the pairing of the flavors inside of the roll and the outside avocado and sauces. The beef stir-fry was my least favorite of the dishes that we tried. For one, the portion felt small relative to the Jajang that I ordered. Also, the stir-fry lacked the bold flavor that the Jajang had. The stir fry didn't have a sauce and didn't have a strong taste holding it together other than a mild soy aroma and it felt a bit like the type of fried rice you could at Uwajimaya food court for much cheaper. The final dish, the kimchi stew, was good but not amazing. The soup was piping hot and it lived up to its name with a lot of kimchi in it. The kimchi tasted fresh and was decently spicy. I would have liked to have a bit more meat in the soup as it felt like there were only a few pieces. Good - Kind and attentive staff - Jajang was very flavorful and filling Not So Good - Pretty expensive for the amount of food received for some dishes - Beef stir-fry lacked flavor - No side dishes unlike other Korean restaurants Overall I was a bit disappointed given my high expectations but it definitely could've been a case of catching the restaurant on a bad day. Hope to give it another try soon!

Yelp
What a rip-off. No wonder it's 6pm and there are no customers in the restaurant. Paid $18 for a "signature" stir fried noodle dish that Uptown China can do better. Paid extra $3.50 for fish cake that was 2 measly balls, each cut in half. They're a "Korean" restaurant but they don't even have any rice cake on the menu. What a rip off.

Yelp
I came with some friends on a rainy day. We were looking for something to warm us up. We ordered bibimbap, tteokguk, and dupbap! The food was so hot and spicy, it lit up our souls. We left nourished; body and soul. It was serendipitous. See you again soon

Yates K.

Yelp
Update: The menu has changed substantially since my last review. All of the sandwiches are gone except for banh mi sandwiches (I thought this was a Korean joint??). They no longer do dolsot bibimbap, and the waiter looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language when I asked him if they had this very common Korean dish. I'm not sure if it's under new management or what but this is a wholly different restaurant from the one I used to love. Super disappointing.

Yelp
Had to try something new. I got the Heritage Bulgogi and veggies with Beef and a kimchi side. The quality is similar to take out youd find equivalent to other Korean food places...The portions are also reallly small, I was still hungry after I left. And it was like $36 after all was said and done (with 20% tip). At least the place was super clean. First and last time for me.

Sijeeta D.

Yelp
Bibimbap, Bulgogi Noodles and Bulgogi and Kimchi Dinner. All the dishes were all very satisfying. A must-try dish is the Bibimbap. The staff is friendly and courteous. I definitely would love to visit again.

Yelp
Wow. Love this place. We ordered three dishes that were all great but honestly all I remember was the dumplings. I would probably just order two plates of the dumplings next time... Also service is great - was a little hesitant when we walked in and were the only guests in the restaurant - not to fear! It is amazing.

Caroline L.

Yelp
This place is fine. The food isn't bad but it's not amazing. The decor is super weird for the kind of food they serve. It gives French art gallery but Korean food. It's a place I would go to if I am hungry and all the other restaurants are busy in the area.
google avatar

Minna A.

Yelp
This was my first time having Gimmari. It definitely wasn't bad, and the sauce was kinda spicy. The jajang was rice, and if you want noodles instead of rice you would have to pay extra for it. We chose the garlic pork option, which was really good but tasted more like beef than garlic pork (which I'm not complaining about). The jajang was too strong to taste the garlic, but the pork was super tender. The food wasn't bad, but it felt too average for its price.
google avatar

Benny V.

Yelp
I've always loved coming here to explore their menu and choosing a different entree each time. Over the past year and a half I've never been disappointed. Their dishes are always made with fresh ingredients and a generous portion of vegetables. Their menu is a nice balance of traditional and Korean fusion with my favorite examples of this being their sandwiches. Once in the GoldInBlack and the Volcano are my top favorites of this blend and are both topped with a generous portions of meat and veggies with cheese coating it all. The Gung-Jung TteokBokki is made with a warming garlic sauce that's perfect for a cold day or mild evening. Got the Beef Stir-Fry w/rice today along with the Bulgogi Avocado Rolls with chicken and I couldn't stop from eating the whole thing in one sitting. Now I'm full and lethargic but very happy.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try GoldinBlack for awhile because I love Korean food and they are in such a convenient location. I stopped in recently and ordered their jayang (which comes with rice, not noodles, but you can substitute for an additional cost) and their rice punch. Both were delicious! They have 2 protein options for the jajang including chicken breast and bulgogi pork. I tried the chicken breast, which was great - it also comes with a ton of veggies, rolled egg omelet, and a panfried egg. It was pretty price though - my total was around $23-24 for the entree and drink. They do a 10% off all food special during lunch though, so I recommend trying to come then if anything!

Yelp
Here's what to expect: A homey Korean Fusion restaurant that serves up the usual dishes like bibimbap and tteokbokki but also has more traditional items you won't see often like dubu kimchi and janchi guksu! Vegetables are always fresh (I'm picky about this), and the meat is of high quality. Also, pretty solid sandwiches - they're toasted and made with Macrina baguettes. GoldinBlack is great for if you wanna grab lunch and catch up with friends or try something new for dinner in a low key setting. Service/Atmosphere: I've ordered from here often and I've always had such kind service from the owner here. Sometimes they can get a bit busy and overwhelmed, but the food and presentation is perfect everytime. Before Covid times, dining in here can be a bit cramped. Definitely more of a neighborhood restaurant rather than a date night kind of place. Food: If you're looking for the traditional Korean experience with lots of banchan, this ain't it. Tonight I got the more traditional food - I ordered their Kimchi jeon (Kimchi pancake) and Kimchi and Spicy Pork Bulgogi Rice for pickup. The Kimchi jeon is one of the best I've had out of the Bay Area and Seattle! It's perfectly crunchy on the outside but soft and full of Kimchi & other assorted veggies in the inside. Thin and light. The spicy pork bulgogi (to be ordered with poach tofu and rice!) was filling and savory. The tofu is refreshing with the spiciness of the stir fried pork and kimchi. Other items I really like: - Janchi Guksu, served hot or cold. It's thin noodles in a light savory broth with veggies - I believe these are vegetarian. - Gungjung Tteokbokki - not spicy version of tteokbokki served with beef and veggies - it is a sweet soy sauce based dish with rice cake! - Mandu Guk! Dumplings in a light broth with green onions. Rice cakes are a must to add in. - any of the sandwiches! Really, you can't go wrong with 'em. Go nuts with the custom options too! Prices are a bit on the high side, but this is the city, and you will be full of good food. Drink some sikhye (Korean sweet rice drink) or sujeonghwa (sweet cinnamon punch) from the menu to digest!

Yelp
This was a really cute spot, the server/cashier was soooo nice and the food was pretty good. We got the goldinblack jajajung but I don't think I'd get it agai it. We weren't sure what it was supposed to taste like, but I prefer the bulgogi dishes so will try one of those here next time.

Yelp
Rare Korean restaurant in lower Queen Anne! The owner was really friendly and nice, food was also tasty. Parking was a bit difficult but this is unavoidable in this area :( def would recommend despite this :D

Yelp
They have been a delicious addition to our new Thurs night quarantine picnic dinner. We ordered: Bulgogi tacos Bulgogi handrolls Jjinmadu (Korean dumplings) Spicy pork avocado rolls Some free vegetables we weren't expecting Side of kimchi All of it was spot on but I especially loved the handrolls. We look forward to putting them on our new take out rotation!
google avatar

Hansi D.

Yelp
We got here about half an hour before closing and their kitchen had already closed. They we're very nice and offered us a limited menu to go. We got a kimchi bulgogi dish and bibimbap. I really loved the bibimbap I got - it had a generous variety of side dish items, tofu with a delicious sauce, and even salad greens that complimented everything beautifully. I was a bit worried that this was a "healthy food" place because that often means overpriced and bland, but I was proven wrong - it was delicious and satisfying. Would love to go back to try more of their menu.

Yelp
Stopped in here with some friends while in town for a show at Climate Pledge Arena. We shared sandwiches, kimchi fried rice, pork japchae and all were wholesome and delicious. Absolutely wish we had time to visit again during our stay. Fresh, simple ingredients made with homemade taste - just what we needed while traveling. Yum!!

Emily N.

Yelp
INCREDIBLE Korean menu. We've had Korean food from all over the city and this spot hits all the must haves when you're craving Korean spices a bomb ass Bulgogi bowl. The Tteokbokiki (spicy rice cake dish) was one of the best I've ever had, and the Bulgogi avocado rolls hit just right if you want an all in one bite.

Demian G.

Yelp
Place has gone downhill since ownership changed earlier this year. Dishes have changed and are not nearly as flavorful. And the potstickers are bad. I hope things improve and I'll be glad to revise my review. But I'll need to hear that things improved before even trying again.
google avatar

Mackenzie V.

Yelp
This place is GOOD! I've ordered food here a couple times now and both were equally amazing. I've tried the tteokbokki and the bulgogi avocado rolls. With the add ins that I like in my tteokbokki it did get a bit pricey, but still was worth it. The avocado rolls are huge and I love that you have meat options for the filling, I've tried the bulgogi beef and spicy pork. The most recent time I ordered food through Caviar and picked it up at the restaurant. The food was ready quickly and staff were so kind!
google avatar

Yelp
The smell of cooking from here is intoxicating. Haven't dined in yet but take out is convenient and quick. Came in half an hour prior to closing and was out the door in 15. Portion sizes were generous, I wasn't expecting that much food! Staff was friendly and helpful with recommending sides. We ordered the kimchi and spicy pork bulgogi with guksu (thin noodles) plus a fried egg and heritage bulgogi and veggies. Been looking for a place nearby to fulfill my Korean BBQ cravings. I think I've found my new spot. Highly recommend! It's at in lower Queen Anne, next to Atlas Kitchen & lounge and Liberty Tattoo.

M Q.

Yelp
Food is good and fresh. Service is great! Location clean with a nice and soft music. Give them a try!! Their hours have chance Tue- Thur 11am - 9pm and Fri-Sun 11am - 10pm
google avatar

Yelp
GoldinBlack is located in a very unassuming part of lower Queen Anne on a busy road so I usually order delivery from them. The quality of their Korean food has been consistently high, with generous portions and consistent flavors with high quality ingredients. We usually order the dumplings, bulgogi, tofu stew, bibimbap, and change it up occasionally with dumpling soup or jjajang noodles. They used to throw in complementary egg rolls with our order over the years but they recently stopped. It's understandable given they have managed to keep the quality of food and portion sizes consistent - we are happy to support this local business!
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
If you want truly legit Korean food, you'll have better luck going to Lynnwood or Federal way. But if you're stuck in Seattle, why not give GoldinBlack a try? Although this wasn't the most traditional Korean restaurant that I've been to, GoldinBlack did a nice job in offering Korean(-American) cuisine that curbed my craving. My friend and I stopped by on a Friday night at around 7PM and found the place completely empty. Definitely more of a "hole-in-the-wall" establishment, the restaurant is better for smaller groups. The service was also good - the ladies working there came by often after we ordered. :) GoldinBlack has a pretty interesting menu! Although they have typical Korean dishes like ddukbokki (spicy rice cakes), I think they're better known for their fusion dishes, like their sandwiches and wraps. In the end, we both ordered the hotpot bibimbap with spicy pork. The ingredients weren't as "traditional" (think broccoli, spinach, etc.) and the pot wasn't really "sizzling", but it still ended up being one of the better bowls that I've tried in Seattle. :) The one downside was the lack of banchan (side dishes). We only got a small side salad that came with a vinegary/soy sauce-like dressing. :( Despite all that, I was excited to find that there was a Korean restaurant in my neighborhood and I feel like I'll be coming by again, if at least for the yogurt soju. ;)
google avatar

Yelp
Hidden Korean Fusion spot in Queen Anne that's an absolute gem. It feels like a living room inside (takeout only right now ofc) but has a very creative menu. I tried the Bulgogi Handrolls and they were excellent - perfectly marinated and the hand rolls had the perfect crunch to them too. Will be back to try their entrees too but highly recommend!
google avatar

Mirko Z.

Yelp
It's a low key spot but it's your loss if you don't walk in. The quality of the food rivals any restaurants in the area. I had the pleasure of having the Cuban Connection Sandwich. It ranked in top sandwiches of all time. There are no words that would it justice. Definitely a must try for foodies or anyone in the hunt for something uniquely delicious.
google avatar

Phuong B.

Yelp
Thank you yelp for helping me find this hidden gem!! It is literally a hole in the wall. My coworkers who have worked in the area for almost ten years never even knew about it despite it's proximity to Pesos and TP. Ever since finding this hidden gem, I go here almost once every week and have introduced many people to it. Everyone loved it and has since returned because the food is great and the service is friendly, although a little slow. I'm a huge fan of their jaepchae noodles with the bibimbap sauce. That sauce is seriously like crack to me. I douse my whole entire dish with it. Other items on their food menu sounds amazing and they can make anything vegetarian! Although I stick to my noodles and sauce, my coworkers are obsessed with their bibimbap bowl. They even claimed that it's the best they've ever had! Definitely need to give this place a try. You won't regret it!
google avatar

Shannon P.

Yelp
This place is amazing! I have been coming here for take out all quarantine. Their bibimbap is so delicious and fresh. I also love their spicy ramen in the colder months.

Mamtut J.

Yelp
I pass this restaurant at least 1 a week and always walk past but this place is absolutely delicious!! I had the jjjmandu and it was sooo good!! The sauce they put on it was spicy, sour and savory and the homemade kimchi is the best I've had. It is a pretty small restaurant that gets pretty busy around 5 and 6 but that's only because it's soo good!! They also have lots of veggie options which is great! They also seem like a pretty small team so you might have to have a bit of patience, other Korean food I've had tends to be too sweet but this place is really balanced!

Yelp
Okay so there's this electric sign outside of GoldinBlack that says They have sandwiches. Sandwiches...at a Korean restaurant... bet you didn't see that coming! Having eaten at a lot of Korean restaurants the prospect of a Korean lunch sandwich was intriguing... my brain became fixated on all of the endless possibilities. Visions of bulgogi and tofu creations left my mouth watering and I knew that's where I'd have lunch. Now their sandwich menu was not exactly what I imagined. There are some very non-Korean items and sandwiches on the menu and they're awesome. The prices are in the same range as other places in Lower Queen Anne but there's enough for two meals. I've only finished half a sandwich each time I've been here. Now, allow your tastebuds to imagine the mix of these mouthwatering creations... Cuban Connection Garlic marinated pork, sweet caramelized onion, cabbage, cilantro, broccoli, romaine lettuce, pepper jack & provolone and some aioli. (You can add avocado, egg or Kimchi for $1.) Volcano Tofu or spicy pork, organic spring mix, romaine, scallions, jalapeños, red cabbage, pepper jack & provolone and some aioli. (Add cucumber for $.50 / avocado or Kimchi for $1.) Hallasan Express Beef or chicken breast bulgogi, caramelized onions, mushrooms, red cabbage, broccoli, romaine, pepper jack & provolone and aioli. (Add cucumber for $.50 / avocado, egg or Kimchi $1.) Once in the GoldInBlack Spicy tofu or bulgogi, caramelized onion, cabbage, broccoli, cilantro, provolone and pepper jack and aioli. (Avocado, egg or Kimchi add $1.) I have had the Once in the GoldInBlack and the Volcano. Both were awesome! These sandwiches were not only great but there was so much I had half a sandwich left over! The Volcano I had with tofu and it was good. The pieces of tofu were huge. When you get it, ask for it super spicy! The Once In the GoldInBlack with bulgogi was awesome and as much as I love tofu this was hands down the winner. The flavors really worked well together and the meat was so tasty. Order a small side of organic Kimchi with it and you have a great meal or two meals, counting the other half of the sandwich. The young woman who helped us and took our order was very friendly and polite. There's nothing like great customer service! Some patrons were very rude and she totally kept her cool. Oh before I forget they actually have a lot of other stuff on their menu as well including the traditional Korean food we've all come to know and love. They also have some other less traditional dishes such as the bulgogi tacos, eel (Unagi) salad, Japchae, poached tofu and for all of you who have ever had cheese ramen in Korea they even have that! Just seeing that on the menu made me smile! There's a regular menu as well with the usual Korean fare but I say give the other menu a try. If you're in the lower Queen Anne neighborhood you need to definitely give this place a try! Make sure you ask for BOTH menus though or you may miss out!

Yelp
I love that they have a Tteokbokki Dish that isn't spicy. I don't see this often. I always crave Tteokbokki but I don't always want spicy as it can be too heavy during lunch time at work. They are close by my work and they are very friendly and bubbly. I feel very welcomed when I go inside which makes the food taste even better! I highly recommend if you want some Home Feel Korean food with friendly service! :)

Yelp
I give the food a 4-star, but the service brings it to a 5-star! We got: - soondobu (tofu and kimchee soup). It came out bubbling hot and very flavorful, though I think it could have been a tad spicier - japchaebap - pretty much perfect. It was exactly the right amount of spiciness. My only minor complaint is that the beef was cubed and not thinly sliced - seafood pancake - quite possibly the tastiest seafood pancake I have ever had. It could have been fried a tad longer, but still delicious and generous with the amount of seafood added. Service was great! The lady was attentive and she let us eat in even though they were closing in 30 minutes. She was friendly and smiley.

Yelp
Amazing food! Will be back for sure The restaurant is a little hidden and there isn't much parking, but man is it worth it.

Yelp
I am OBSESSED with this place!!! Such kind service, everything on the menu is to die for. My go to is their Tukbokki add spicy pork or sweet potato noodle depending on what I'm feeling :)

Yelp
Very interesting and creative variety of vegan options. I got there right when they opened, and they did a nice job anyway. I really liked my dinner of Dubu-Jorim. I added kimchi and avocado. Delicious!

Yelp
we were staying at an airbnb last couple nights before we moved out of WA and i found this place on yelp. i was in the mood for korean so i asked my hubby to pick up from here as it was close by. i called the restaurant and i asked the lady if i should order bibimbop or the other Dupbap. she just said whichever i preferred. i got the bibimbop w/ spicy pork. it was around $13? the serving was just right, there were plenty of veggies and meat. if u r in the mood for bibimbop, this place will do.

Yelp
I went in on a Tuesday afternoon (6/05/18), when nobody else was in the restaurant - I was greeted by a lady and told to choose a seat. After sitting at a table, I noticed the white tablecloth was dirty from the previous guest so I moved over to the next table when she was grabbing a menu. She came back and seemed surprised by this. I felt bad about taking a bigger table and went back to the old, dirty one. Through all this, the server lady has a very uncomfortable look on her face. After dropping the menu, she muttered very loudly in Korean while walking back into the kitchen, " ." That means "god, how needy." This angers me on many points - say what you want about the customer, but make sure they're not within earshot? Being a server myself, hearing that seemed immature, elementarily rude. Obviously. Also, if you're gonna badmouth your customers in front of them in your language... make sure they don't speak it also. For god sakes. Seriously? They seemed very surprised when I handed her the menu back and said in Korean, "sorry I won't be eating here anymore, and for being a such a needy customer!" No apology, no goodbye. All before ordering. If you want good, at least decent service, and clean tables to eat on, don't come to GoldinBlack.

Yelp
Was visiting Seattle and was so happy to find this place! Very flavorful and good sized portions for the price. Highly recommend the Bibimbap Escape with Chicken or Bulgogi Beef. Also the Japchaebap with Bulgogi Beef was delicious and a lot of food! For an appetizer I had the Korean Pancakes with Sweet Potato. Highly recommend this place!! Lighting isn't great in my pics but food was sooo good!!

Yelp
Queen Anne: Land of touristy sites, theaters, cute boutiques, Toulouse Petit, and good Korean food, apparently! GoldinBlack may not be as fancy as the other restaurants around the block, but it really hit the spot for dinner on a Thursday night. We were on our way to a concert and in search for something quick, little did we know that we'd come across such yummy stone bowl bibimbap and bulgogi beef tacos with avocados-- such an unexpected fusion find! The taco meat was so tender and the bottom layer of the rice was so deliciously crunchy (at no additional charge for the stone bowl, I might add). The bibimbap hot sauce comes on the food so be sure to specify how spicy you want your order to be. GoldinBlack doesn't win my vote for best/most number of side dishes, but their service is definitely one of the better ones out there. Give this place a try, they do takeout!
