I've been to quit a few deli's here in Arizona and this was one on my list to try because a friend of ours had brought us Chocolate and Cinnamon Rugelach from here and they were so good. I had the opportunity to go with a friend of mine for breakfast. Visually, the deli was not what I expected, small, a little dingy looking. The display case was visual unappealing (whats with all the hot dogs). The young lady that worked the cash register and took your order was very nice and friendly. I ordered the Spinach and Feta Cheese Omelet which came with choice of home fries or hash browns and choice of bread. My friend had a Ham and Cheese Omelet Special. When our food came out, it looked amazing. My Spinach Feta Omelet was one of the best omelets I've ever had. I can't vouch for anything else, only my omelet LOL. Atmosphere: needs updating. Food: omelets were delish. Service: very good.

Was so looking forward to getting food from Goldmans Deli but it was something I wish I hadn’t done. Food was terrible and completely overpriced. The bagel was fine, nothing special and was toasted as requested. The potato salad was average but wouldn’t recommend. The kashsa varnishka was below average. Tasted and looked weird because they put onions in it. The most disappointing was the freshly made chopped liver. Literally the worst I’ve had in my entire long life. They completely ruined it with the onions and whatever else they put in it that ruined the flavor. Basically not edible. Only good thing was the Dr Browns drinks and the cashier was nice. Atmosphere was lackluster. P.S. The lox is Acme brand.

I'm so glad to be from New York City and then Orange County, CA, as I have had the pleasure of enjoying jewish/kosher style deli food. We moved to AZ two months ago and were so excited to dine at Goldmans Deli in Scottsdale, AZ. Never again! The pastrami was dry.... minimal flavor. The pickle tasted like a Klausen. I'm glad I ordered a Dr. Brown Black Cherry soda so that I can say that I enjoyed something.

Google
Sorry it took us a year to find this place. Yes you are eating in a deli, not a restaurant, but the food is so good! Highly recommend the pastrami, corned beef, brisket, chicken salad and so on. Breakfasts are just as good. Omelettes are fantastic. We love everyone that works there. Omg I almost forgot - the HOT DOGS. I tht $9 was pricy till I ate one. We’ve quickly become regulars.

Not impressed. It's been a few years since I have been here. It is not what it used to be. The front girl did not pay attention. I had to repeat myself several times, and she still messed up. Forgot the Swiss cheese on one sandwich. And also a drink. Which she was sure to charge me for. 72.00 for four sandwiches, and one didn't even have a side. It should have. Then, the runner brings the food out with no utensils or napkins. When I mentioned Swiss was missing on one of the sandwiches, she implied it was my fault. She came back to tell me the ticket did not mention Swiss. Well, sweetie, I did not write the ticket—such a shame. Perhaps I forgot why I have not been here in a few years. Three stars for the onion bagel; it was delicious. Potato salad- not.

Google
Always love to find me a Goldmans Deli when I travel. Matzah ball soup was super good and my son and I both had the Nova lox bagel and nova lox plate. It was delightful!

Google
Was a wonderful, full service, breakfast, lunch and dinner restaurant. Not the same since 2020. Expensive now. Food quality and freshness diminished. Counter service and packaged foods still good.

Yelp
First time here so I'll compare it to chompies. They open at 8 but were not quite ready for business. Several bagels not available and no matzoh ball soup. Pastrami not hot but that was okay because I was having sandwich later Wanted one half sandwich pastrami and the other half cornbeef. That would have been an extra $2.50 charge. Have no idea why. This is not a problem at chompies and no extra charge. Pastrami was lean and much better quality than at chompies. Rye bread was excellent. Only one pickle with sandwich and so limp it was a throw away. Also bought some bagels. Would have bought more but they didn't have what I needed. The bagels I got were very good. Again much better than chompies. Had Dr Browns in bottles which I prefer. Chompies only has cans. This is a small deli compared to chompies. Not open for dinner. Help was nice and knew what they were doing. Unfortunately some of the help at chompies are helpless...not all I will definitely return but later in the morning hoping they'll have what was missing on this trip

Yelp
No frills local Jewish deli that reminds me of the ones back on the East Coast. It gets busy around lunch time so expect to wait and they're a bit old school so it takes some time to write orders and hand out the food to everyone sitting. I got a smoked turkey and Swiss sandwich and it was pretty good! A lot of meat, bread was soft, only one slice of cheese which was dissapointing, but it tasted as you would think, nothing life changing. It came with a side (I chose potato salad) and a pickle. The potato salad is really good. Perfect amount of mustard and mayo. Pickle was good a little soggy. The reason I am docking a point is just due to the pricing. The one sandwich with the pickle and potato salad it came with was $19 plus tax and tip. While it was good, I can't imagine I'll go back to spend $20+ on a single sandwich when you can go get the same thing, same quality, for less elsewhere. A lot of people were trying their pastrami so maybe that's life changing but this wasn't, it was good, not life changing. Nontheless, they're a family owned establishment and I like to try to support local when I can. I hope they continue to succeed! Maybe I'll come back and try a bagel and lox or something that they specialize in :)

Eddie P.

Yelp
It's ok. Certainly no frills. For the price it's not worth it. Better sandwiches from AJs.

Frank G.

Yelp
I can't believe what a GREAT deli this place is!! Absolutely one of, if not the best.. just what I think the perfect one should be.. friendly & nice staff, clean and of course, the BEST pastrami sando I may have ever had!! I may not eat anywhere else while I'm here in Scottsdale

Yelp
First time at Goldman's Deli. Friend raved about the cabbage soup. I opted for a pastrami on rye with potato salad. Deli is located in a shopping center and clearly a neighborhood favorite. Been to a lot of delis in the Phoenix area since I was born here. Think most of the deli restaurants have been New York Style. Ordered food at the front counter. You pay and your food is delivered to your table. You get a cup to help yourself if having a soft drink. Order arrives and friend says, the portions are not as big as other local delis. Sandwich was respectable in portion size. Prices were pretty much on par so no complaints on value. Friend paid for lunch anyway. Pastrami was tasty, however it was not hot and no mustard. Hmm, not sure if that is considered Chicago Style? Apparently, that is not the case. Mustard and napkins are at the counter. Service was great at the service counter. After your order is delivered, you are on your own. If in the area, would try Goldman's again. Hard to score a restaurant based upon one meal experience. Place is not a Chompies, Scott's Generations or Miracle Mile Deli; but those are not Chicago Style Delis.

Joe C.

Yelp
Nice little deli. Very friendly staff. Kitchen really wanted to make sure we were happy Will be back when in area. My corned beef was actually a little too lean. Pastrami ordered lean and it sure was Nothing fancy. Just good food very fair price for the size

Wendy S.

Yelp
Went there for the Reuben sandwich as it was supposed to be the best of the best and it was just OK. Definitely not worth the drive and a sandwich and an omelet was $43, fairly pricey.

Jodi W.

Yelp
So good. I have a thing for Jewish delis, & imo this is the best in the valley. I love the eggs Benedict using a slice of Hebrew national! Delicious bagel and lox as well. The pastrami here is to die for as well. Only thing it needs is Dr browns soda to complete the vibe. The place is an order at the counter type restaurant. They bring the food out to you. Serve yourself soda machine. The girl at the counter was great and friendly. She served as our waitress as well. Tv as well which for me is a plus if I'm dining solo. Absolutely recommend!

Yelp
Since moving to Phoenix 3 1/2 years ago, I had yet to find a good deli--until I discovered Goldman's! I recently ordered carryout, and everything was fantastic. The matzah ball and kreplach soup were absolutely delicious, packed with comforting flavors. The kasha and noodle kugel were also excellent--just like how a good deli should be. The service was fast, the staff was friendly, and the place was clean and well-organized. I'm so glad I found my new go-to deli! I'll definitely be returning soon.

John A.

Yelp
2.5 Onos out of 5 Although we visited in the later afternoon, I felt that the food looked like it was sitting around on the steam table. Had the staff cabbage, it was unevenly heated. When I visited the area, I know there are better delis around. Not sure I'll return!

Cindy G.

Yelp
Food is OKAYAYAA but overpriced. French fries were awful. If prices were better and fries better they get better reviews. I like the people, no problem there.

Shelden B.

Yelp
I simply love this place! Food is delicious. The same amazingly friendly staff. Highly highly recommend this deli.

Sydney S.

Yelp
I grew up on the North Shore of Chicago, dining all the time at Deli's like Goldamns. I moved to Minneapolis for college, and have been missing establishments like this - so when I found Goldmans on a trip to Scottsdale I made sure to stop by! We ordered some food for pickup and my boyfriend went inside, so I couldn't see what the interior looked like, but looking in from the window it looks like your basic deli counter. We placed our order over the phone for pickup - staff saying it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. We ordered 2 large matzoh ball soups, 1 kreplach soup, a sandwich, and a piece of kugel to go. I was disappointed that when we got there they said they were our of kreplach soup, I wish we were called so we could have a replacement soup ready. We ended up ordering 1 small matzoh ball to replace it, but this took a bit of time to get ready. Fair warning that this food doesn't come cheap - I think my boyfriend spend $50-$60 on this meal. When I saw online that they were known for their baseball sized matzohballs, I was a bit worried they'd be hard - but they were perfectly fluffy! The soup was delicious and had some chicken, carrots and celery pieces too. The kugel was sweet and flavorful, just like the kind I have back home. If you're looking for a great Chicago style Jewish deli, definitely come here!

Thomas W.

Yelp
Small portions, big price. 23 dollars for the saddest tuna melt I've ever seen, with a side of stale chips. However the service was good and food came quick.

Shane W.

Yelp
Not so much a Jewish deli as it is an overpriced sandwich shop. The food was fine, but for the price, the sandwiches felt tiny when you can get one so big it's enough for two or three meals at Chompie's for the same price.

Andrew C.

Yelp
Great place for lunch, super friendly service at the counter where you order. Ordered Hot Pastrami, excellent with brown mustard, pickle and Cole slaw. Good amount of pastrami on Kaiser bun. Highly reccomend. Breakfast menu looks good for future visit.

Trent M.

Yelp
Stopped in here for a corned beef sandwich got it to go with some slaw and ate back at the resort. Excellent corned beef and the slaw was perfect

Flynn K.

Yelp
Not a lot to say here. Extremely over priced and their pastrami was way overcooked and very dry. Also the first time I saw Bacon served at a jewish deli. Overall not the best experience, food wise. On a positive note the service was great!

Scott B.

Yelp
It took 46 minutes for 2 sandwiches. Our party asked several times for our food. 1st and last visit for us.

Charles F.

Yelp
Food Service all outstanding if you are looking for authentic Jewish Deli food. Everything was fantastic. Thank you Goldman's

Anna M.

Yelp
Not understanding the hype (or prices) here. Staff were so friendly and it's a cute place. Ordered the Ruben came with a side of chips. The bread was so hard it completely fell apart. I've never eaten a Ruben with a fork and knife before, but I had no choice here. Corned beef is not made in house and a little tough but it is shaved nice and thin. $21 (including $2 tip) for one sandwich and tap water (that left an odd aftertaste) is just not for me.

Larry H.

Yelp
Excellent Chicago style deli food. The pastrami sandwich was excellent and an excellent menu.

Patricia B.

Yelp
The food is always good and fresh. We usually have soup and sandwich. I love the beet borscht soup. My husband loves the spice, cabbage soup, and of course the egg salad is delicious and the white fish is flown in from Lake Michigan. I love it because I grew up in Michigan and they fly it in from the Chicago area which is still great white fish. My husband likes the pastrami on rye. We've never left there feeling like we didn't get a good meal.

Jenna P.

Yelp
Best Motzaball soup and good sandwiches. I could eat here every day! Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Mike A.

Yelp
Service: Not much after dropping off the sandwich. Food: Excellent! My pastrami was packed and I only planned on eating half of it, but I couldn't stop and finished. the whole thing. Shame on me :( I only wish they were open on Sundays, when we are in the area more often. Given the option, would come back here again and again.

Dominic C.

Yelp
Menus prices in store are almost twice as on here? When I asked the cashier shouldn't care less.

Christi P.

Yelp
OMGoodness that's was the best pastrami I think I've ever had, and tons of it, and I'm a pastrami connoisseur, I order it everywhere I go. So glad I found this place, I don't live in town but I will return every time I'm in town

Linda H.

Yelp
Delicious !! I had the pastrami on rye and Cole slaw! Yum! Will be back soon many things to try

David H.

Yelp
I cannot say enough about Goldmans Deli. I have been there twice in the past couple of years- only because it is about a 45 minute drive from home. The food has always been freshly prepared and more than I can eat in one sitting. This time we had the Reuben, shared a bowl of fresh vegetable soup and a bbq brisket sandwich. We tried the cole slaw with one sandwich and the potato salad with the other. Everything was perfect. They were quite busy with both eat in and take out orders. There is not a lot of seating in the deli area. They have a larger dining room off to one side but it was closed. Plan to share conversations with the many friendly people you will be sitting close to in the deli. Most of it will be about how wonderful everything is. One fried got the matzo ball soup. It had a huge ball right in the center! Remembering that each dish is individually hand crafted, and they were quite busy, it took only about 10 minutes to get our order out. I will be back there again soon!

Johhny S.

Yelp
Going downhill. 20 bucks for a chicken salad sammy with no flavor, stale bread. Oh but the side of potato salad was literally a tiny cup as big as a silver dollar with maybe one tablespoon.. this place used to be good. What happened

Sharon P H.

Yelp
The very best Jewish deli on the west coast. Down home atmosphere pleasant staff and the BEST cornedbeef

Michelle M.

Yelp
My husband and I have been looking for a good Jewish deli since moving to AZ. They're few and far between. Coming from CA where there are excellent ones everywhere, Arts, Lovies, Brents, Weilers.... The list goes on. But AZ not so many. Anyway we both had the day off today so we decided to drive from Gilbert to Scottsdale. I have to say we were so so disappointed in Goldmans. My husband ordered a hot corned beef and me a hot pastrami. Neither were even slightly warm and both meats were flavorless and super chewy. There were long strings of grizzle throughout my pastrami which made it super hard to just take a bite. The corned beef was a bit tastier than the pastrami but not much. Pastrami and corned beef should be salty and melt in your mouth. These were not. Also, they really need to have a better selection of chips. Lays,Cheetos and Doritos are just blahhhh for a quality deli. No different from Subway choice. How about good quality kettle chips like salt and vinegar or bbq? Zapps are the best. Anyway we wouldn't return. Maybe Miracle Mile in Phoenix next time.

Lysa E.

Yelp
Being Jewish, it's great to find a real deli (not just a sandwich shop) with authentic Jewish food. The matzo ball soup was really good with a large matzo ball and veggies. Had to have a bagel, cream cheese and lox and the coffee was really good too. Next time I have to try the blintzes!!

Jon L.

Yelp
Can't believe I have never been by this Deli. My sister and brother in law were in town and they were interested in a good sandwich. Goldman's did not disappoint on the Ruben or the Pastrami. Great sandwich reasonable price. Nice clean place with chairs and table inside and out. Very friendly young lady took our order and brought us our sandwiches. I'll be back again when I'm in the area.

Evelyn D.

Yelp
In our quest for a hood Jewish deli sandwich we ventured up to Scottsdale to try Goldmans deli. The Corned beef extra lean was excellent and the Pastrami extra lean was a little tough and didn't have the depth of flavor that you expect The rye bread was nice and fresh . The coleslaw was very good and the picket was acceptable. The hamantaschen were good, not hand made but good

Logan B.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing Jewish deli! The cuts of meat are thick and fresh. Totally recommend.

Larry K.

Yelp
As a life-long Chicagoian this is the best Jewish deli west of the Mississppi. The menu is extensive.

Frances M.

Yelp
Great menu Fresh food Family friendly Informal atmosphere Great teamwork Make plans to visit

David A.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise! My daughter wanted matzah ball soup and we decided to give it a try. We showed up at 2:40 and they had posted that they close at 3, so was concerned they were going to rush us. Quite the contrary! The owner welcomed us with open arms, told us to take as long as we wanted and went on to provide awesome service with a smile. The food was superb as well. From the soup to the corned beef sandwich everyone left happy and full. Would definitely recommend!

Scott F.

Yelp
Traditional old fashioned Jewish Delicatessen. People were friendly, service and the food were good. The restaurant is small and a little tight, but that lends to its charm. The matzo ball soup was OK. BIG fluffy ball and a little soup. The corn beef on rye was just like the old days, stacked HIGH.

Gabriela S.

Yelp
Great family own hall in a wall. If you like eastern European food, give these folks a try. I loved everything other than the Borscht. Their smoked fish is fantastic, so are other items on the menu. We will be back!

Nancy S.

Yelp
I love the food at this deli! They have the most interesting sandwiches and plates. Fortunately, they have a takeout business and had one before the coronavirus. I visited last week for some takeout lunch. Every single employee had on masks and gloves. There were tapes on the floor showing you where to stand to approach the counter. There were only three tables where normally there would have been 5 or 6. None of the diners had on masks but of course, they were eating. I think this is a perfectly safe place to go and I will return. I recommend it because the food is just so good.

Mark R.

Yelp
Excellent quality. Best egg salad, chopped liver, goulash and chicken in the pot.

Scott A.

Yelp
My wife and I had lunch here on a Monday. It reminded me of old style delis that I have been to in the past. No frills, not fancy, but great deli food! My wife and I had one of the best Reuben Sandwiches that we have ever had anywhere in America! I highly recommend that you come here for lunch anytime you are in Scottsdale!

L S.

Yelp
Paid almost $100 for 3 sandwiches, a hot dog and a couple of drinks. Way overpriced for the quality of food. Food was ok. Service was substandard. Can't afford to eat here, we will not be back.

Kathy B.

Yelp
Great Kasha Varnishkes and Gefilte Fish. Great service even though they were short staffed. Clean and friendly.

Kat V.

Yelp
Chopped chicken liver on challa bread is so good. I usually can have only half a sandwich but this time I finish the whole sandwich. Liver is deliciously prepared and tasty. Challa bread is fresh and soft. I could not stop wanting the liver again and again.

Jamie G.

Yelp
We discovered this wonderful deli. Friendly, courteous, helpful staff was what we found. The establishment was very clean & relaxed with indoor & outdoor seating. We ordered Clubhouse & Rueben sandwiches. Probably the BEST Rueben I have ever eaten. Thanks so much & please keep up the great work!
