Goldsborough Hall

"A pretty village plays host to this grand, 16C country house which is surrounded by delightful grounds. There might be a classically formal feel to the place but not when it comes to the food. Modern, French-based dishes are eye-catching, well-balanced and full of bold flavours, with a good mix of classic and contemporary techniques showcasing the skill of the team. Go for the tasting menu with accompanying wine pairings." - Michelin Inspector

I had my wedding day at Goldsborough Hall on August 10th 2025 and I honestly can not thank and praise the wedding team and venue enough. The day was faultless, they organised everything and I had absolutely NOTHING to worry about the morning of my wedding. ||Our guests were blown away by the beauty of the venue but also the service and attention to detail all provided by the team. The food was delicious and everyone who had a room at the hall (included with the price of the wedding!!!) commented how clean and gorgeous they were too. ||Building up to the day the wedding team couldn’t do enough to make us feel ready and excited. We had a tour when we booked, had another tour for our parents and a wedding prep meeting a month before where they outlined everything that would happen on the day. I had some nerves the night before and they were even there then to calm and reassure me the day would be amazing, and it was. The team are experienced, caring and the loveliest people who made our wedding day perfect. I can not recommend this stunning venue enough.

Visited Goldsborough Hall for a friends wedding and stayed overnight on the wedding day in one of the ground floor garden rooms.|Unfortunately didn't get much time to fully enjoy the room, but almost everything was wonderful (only downside for me is that the bed was a little too firm for my liking). |All of the staff were really friendly and helpful.|The food we had, both for the wedding and breakfast next day, was superb.|The hall itself is a wonderful venue, and the gardens are lovely. We were fortunate enough to be able to spend some time walking around the grounds and kitchen garden on the day after the wedding on a beautiful sunny day.

Had afternoon tea here on a lovely sunny day. We sat in the conservatory and enjoyed the calming views over the garden. The Hall is a beautiful place. Peaceful and well kept. The afternoon tea was delicious with an assortment of sandwiches and mini cakes. Beautiful presented. Afternoon tea is usually £80 for two, which is very costly. We managed to obtain a voucher for a half-price afternoon tea for two. If we hadn't had the voucher, we couldn't have afforded to enjoy the beautiful hall, gardens, and afternoon tea. We had a lovely visit, and the staff were attentive.

We stayed in several locations across the UK over the course of our two week trip. This place was the absolute best. The care that they put into making it a memorable and enjoyable experience is incredible. As an example, I noted that I was lactose intolerant when completing my booking. They used that information to craft a bespoke menu for me for the tasting so that I could enjoy my 6 courses without worry and missing out on anything! They even paired my meals with wine. Incredible hospitality and attention to detail. I've never felt so seen by a place! We can't wait to come back someday.

The food, drink and staff during our afternoon tea were absolutely outstanding. Wandering the grounds and meeting the lovely Parker (the cat) was also very charming. ||My only advice would be to improve the top end of the dining room. Beyond the upper windows there is a shoddy view of what look like worn down stables which does change the ambiance slightly. Though we were seated next to beautiful windows with a view and the gentle music was lovely so this didn’t spoil it. ||The macaroon was the best I’ve ever had! Our server was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We did ask to take some bits home and we weren’t given our clotted cream for the scones which was a shame. All in all though we had a beautiful time!

Lovely staff, Dawn on reception was great 👍 The gardens are amazing 👏 Lots of history to the building. Still owned by a family who have done a wonderful job restoring the building. Restaurant is a perfect location for special occasions.

I used to work security on this when it was getting converted, I never believed in ghost stories until you experience it, Goldsborough Hall has its royalty connection when several of the Queen Elizabeth dogs was buried in the grounds and several of her children suddenly passed away with pneumonia, there is a pet cemetery there also just further down from the main entrance and the scratches on the main front door are to be believed those of the queen's dogs. The Hall is absolutely stunning and has a church right behind it, there also used to be a dome between the church and the hall which maybe been a sign of a former institute for the clinically insane. It really is a stunning place but me and mate never went back after what we witnessed.....loved working here but never again
