Goldsborough Hall

Very, very clean. Absolutely spotless. My grandmother loved the flowers and chocolate covered strawberries especially as optional extras for the room. The flowers were absolutely stunning, they are substantial in size.||We attended the murder mystery dinner. The Christmas decorations made us feel very Chrisymassy and everyone looked stunning for the 1920's theme. The entertainment was fun and the actors were very friendly and obviously enjoyed the night as much as we did.||The included breakfast was lovely and a nice end to the stay. We enjoyed watching the squirrels play in the grounds from the windows.

The Hall hugs you as you walk in. You feel so welcome! First impressions are of a gracious place which is truly loved & all of the staff who work there seem to love it & their passion for the place comes over. Service throughout our stay was superb!|We stayed in the Hanson Suite, which was beautiful! The drapes, the lighting, the fluffy towels & robes, toiletries… every little detail was perfect. |Dinner in the Orangery was our only negative. It just felt a bit ‘ordinary’ in comparison to the splendour of everything else, but coffee afterwards in front of the fire in the Library was so relaxing. Throughout, the Christmas decorations were just lovely. It feels like a ‘home’ that is lived in & loved.|Breakfast next morning was fabulous and did not disappoint!|The Garden & House Tour & Cream Tea afterwards were very enjoyable.|It was a beautiful stay in a wonderful place and a true Christmas Treat!

We had a fabulous stay for my husband’s birthday. The hall is a beautiful venue in lovely grounds and looked very festive with all the gorgeous Christmas decorations. The staff were so friendly and we were warmly welcomed and shown to our room. We had a spacious, comfortable room but it was the little touches that made it so special, a handwritten birthday card and welcome back note, fresh milk in the fridge, a coffee pod machine and even a teapot to make our morning ‘cuppa’ as well as hand made chocolate chip cookies which were very much enjoyed. Our pre dinner drinks were accompanied by canapés in the grand drawing room before we were shown to our table in the rather regal dining room. The chef and his team exceeded all expectations, the six course tasting menu was delicious and impeccably presented. The staff were knowledgeable about the dishes and every course was described and explained. Our evening was rounded off with coffee and chocolates in the library by the roaring fire, such a treat. Breakfast was excellent too, all in all a super stay, hope to see you all again in 2026.

We have just spent a wonderful Sunday at Goldsborough Hall. We were gifted a Sunday lunch voucher by our daughters and we decided to book a room for the night and were so glad we did! We had one of the smaller rooms as we were only staying one night but it was beautiful, immaculately clean and a lovely comfortable bed. We arrived for lunch and were warmly greeted by the lovely Alison. We were then shown to our table by Victoria ( I think that’s her name as we asked at reception in the morning). We had a lovely seat next to the window and our meal was faultless, absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Victoria was amazing Very friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble. We were inadvertently “entertained” by what appeared to be a regular customer at the adjacent table 🤭We then had a lovely walk around the gardens and met the owner Clare and her cocker spaniel who chatted to us about the history of the house and gardens. Clare was lovely and it was a pleasure to talk to her and play with the dog! It was a chilly but beautiful day so after a walk we decided to sit in the beautiful library with a roaring fire and read a book and share a bottle of wine before our evening meal. We wisely chose the lighter menu of sandwiches as we were still full from our amazing lunch. We met Parker the cat who was a delight. It was nice to make a fuss of him as I was already missing our own cats. We were looked after all day by Victoria and we both felt she was such a great host and a real asset to the hotel and would like pass on our sincere thanks for looking after us so well. Breakfast the following morning was delicious and the service impeccable. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to come back soon. Thank you everyone for a truly relaxing and restful break.

We cannot thank the entire team at Goldsborough Hall enough for making our wedding day so special, truly a day we will never forget ❤️||||From our very first meeting, we knew Goldsborough was the perfect venue. Alison immediately put us at ease, always on hand to answer questions and guiding us through the process with such professionalism and warmth. The whole team’s experience really shone through in every detail, from the planning support, to setting up for the big day, the delicious food and ensuring every guest was looked after from morning to evening. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches, like our menu tasting evening and making sure the bride and groom had canapés and a drink after the ceremony while photos were being taken!||||We loved having the option of a relaxed meal with close family and friends the night before, and the special arrangements for the bridal party on the morning of the wedding made everything feel even more memorable.||||Our guests have all commented on what a wonderful day it was, from being such a beautiful place, the atmosphere, the food, and the great service. Goldsborough Hall is a stunning place, we feel privileged to be a part of it's amazing history  and it will always hold a special place in our hearts, we cannot wait to return.||||Thank you again for everything ❤️

Charming staff. Delicious food. Beautiful room. Crisp cotton sheets. Feather pillows. Huge bed. Taylors Tea. The tickets boxes just keep getting A*. Thank you.

The food here is truly 5* – an excellent tasting menu, beautiful dining room, and one of the best breakfasts I’ve had. However, the accommodation is mixed. Many rooms are in a separate wing that feels more like a Premier Inn than a luxury country house. Our “luxury” room overlooked the staff car park, with stained blinds, frayed fittings, fake flowers, and an awkward bathroom design with a basic electric shower. Take care when booking – some rooms deliver the country house feel, but others fall well short of the luxury promised on the website. Lovely staff, Dawn on reception was great 👍 The gardens are amazing 👏 Lots of history to the building. Still owned by a family who have done a wonderful job restoring the building. Restaurant is a perfect location for special occasions.
