It is the only one in Jacksonville and despite this, it was empty. The service and the drinks: good. I did not like the place, the chairs were not comfortable and they had board games but they were disorganized and incomplete, so we could not play.

Google
I have tried the GongCha franchise in other cities, but the GongCha at Jacksonville is the best. The staffs are great, the shop is so clean, especially the drink is so good. Highly recommended to who haven’t tried it yet

Google
Great tea spot. The boba was good and chewy and the tea had a deep flavor (not so watered down). The service was fast and pleasant. Would recommend.

I went twice, night and then next day around lunch time. The first night they were out of mango anything I was kind of bummed but got a passion fruit green tea- was pretty standard. The next day went back, I waited for so long and no one ever even acknowledged me standing there but eventually I got the coffee milk that was so good. Idk if I'd go out of my way to go there as prices are a little higher and it's pretty standard but not bad. Edited to add that the barista told me the milk is powdered and plant based

Google
I love Gong Cha so much. This place has better boba tea than anywhere else in JAX. Lots of other places are just overly sweet smoothies and stuff, but this place is ACTUALLY tea, AND smoothies, AND coffee. Everything is insanely customizable as well. Be adventurous here, it pays off better and better every time. Wintermelon is an amazing choice every time. Also the brown sugar milk tea styled iced coffee. Hello, if you've never tried it, change your life for me real quick and give it a sip. Gong cha is authentic boba tea. Never gotten stale boba from them in my life and I've been a patron to many of them across the states for a very long time. Solid, reliable, with good staff who gets stuff done.

Google
I have tried the Gong Cha franchise in other cities and it was good, the star boba was always a favorite of mine. The one in Jacksonville is a bit lacking unfortunately. The atmosphere is nice and there are a lot of drink options, but there were just too many mistakes with my order today. We ordered the original egg waffle today and it tasted burnt. There was even a burnt piece stuck to it as well. Ordered a drink with no ice cubes and got charged an extra 50 cents for a drink that still had ice cubes!

Just went in here for the first time and had a great experience. Melanie was super sweet and thoughtful! Any employer would be lucky to have her! My drink was also very tasty.

Google
I visited Gong Cha before the Grand Opening, and I was really looking forward to going. I did have a long wait (a rather long wait), but I figured it was because they were still working out some kinks. Other than the wait, everyone is really nice, and the spot is cute! It could be a great place to work remotely and grab a boba. I didn’t love the Brown Sugar Milk Tea. It was a little watery, but I LOVED the Lychee Green Tea. I would definitely go back and get another one of those or something in that green tea family.

Yelp
Always a solid place for boba tea! Love the variety of options that they have. The shop also has a decent amount of seating for small group gatherings to just hangout. Service is fast and efficient. I got the Oolong Cheese Foam Tea. Love the deep roasted notes of the tea. It pairs well with the slightly sweet and rich cheese foam. Overall, solid place I would come back to

Yelp
Gongcha is one of our favorite boba spots, offering a clean, cute atmosphere with friendly staff and fast service. The interior is modern and inviting, making it a great place to grab a drink. Our go-to order is the Brown Sugar Coffee Milk Tea, though we wish they offered a 15% -sugar option--35% is the lowest they can do, but it's still tasty. Over the years (including back in the Philippines), I've tried several flavors, and while I used to love their Wintermelon Tea, it's now a bit too sweet for my taste. Fortunately, they have a wide range of options, and their text deals are a nice bonus. Gongcha remains a great choice for boba lovers looking for a great experience every time.

Yelp
This was my first time there, so I want sure what to expect. The staff were very friendly and nice and very informative they made suggestions. Modifications were slowed to my drink, which I appreciate greatly. The store was a basic store front. I would give them a 9/10 for the customer service I received.

Yelp
I've stopped by this Gong Cha several times and always enjoy the teas I get. I haven't spent much time in the shop, as I usually just grab a drink while running errands, but it's clean and well-lit. The folks working the counter are usually young, so it's nice to see a local place supporting folks who are likely working their first jobs. Everyone has been friendly! I vary up what I try each time but gravitate toward lychee drinks. My most recent was a lychee oolong with aloe, and it was lovely. I do find that even the sweetness level of 30 is quite sweet, at least for that one! In the past, I've ordered the matcha waffle and loved it. It was made to order, which took a few minutes as another person had ordered one before me, but it was made well and was delicious. One final note: they do post calorie counts for drinks!

Yelp
Great atmosphere, the drinks were very smooth and the boba pearls were perfectly cooked and flavored. The staff were very friendly, and for those of you who don't like super sweet drinks they had an option to cut back the level of sweetness but we don't like that option.

Yelp
I loved the boba it was amazing the mango popping boba was the best part!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
google avatar

Vanessa T.

Yelp
Do I recommend? Yes! I think this is a great Boba shop, the drinks and boba are fresh and taste delicious! The boba is perfectly chewy and offer different types and their black tea tastes great. This place is right up there with our favorite boba place, with so many shops popping up, they are all not the same, some are sub par but this one stands out for me. Also tried the mango smoothie and it was so creamy and delicious, like a mango milkshake!

Yelp
Crème Bluree Brown Sugar- 10$ for this (I added boba and herbal jelly) it doesn't come with boba. It's getting ridiculously expensive at GongCha, By far the most expensive boba shop in town.
google avatar

Yelp
The drinks are very good, and 5 starts for that. But the cashiers are very rude. I dont feel like I was welcomed to the store. They already had attitudes even I just order simple drinks with no questions, but the way they talked makes me feel like I was annoying them. I understand customer service is hard, but with their customer service, I dont want to come back.

Yelp
Best bubble tea place I have found in Jax. I recently moved here and tried about 8 places. This is the one I come back to. In fact, today I drove 10 minutes out of the way, and passed other shops, because they are so consistently spot-on here! The staff is always super pleasant and happy to explain the options as they are plentiful. I love that they offer (and ask about) reduced sugar levels and there are many different add-ons. I usually get taro slush with basic pearl boba, which have a mild brown sugar flavor and the texture is PERFECT. Crunchy, underhydrated boba can ruin the whole drink. These are soft and chewy on the outside with just a hint of firmness in the middle of the pearl. The establishment is clean and it's a really pleasant environment inside. Plus they have a rewards program.

Yelp
We stopped by because we wanted desserts. We had the 2 different waffles and a couple of teas. My family enjoyed the tea drink with toppings, but unfortunately, the Waffles were disappointing.

Yelp
Delicious Boba Tea definitely one of my favorites! I love to go across town and try different Boba tea restaurants and loved this one!

Yelp
Grand opening this weekend so they're having BOGO promotion on their top 10 drinks. I got to try the Oolong milk tea with regular boba and coconut jellies, it's so satisfying and delicious!! I can definitely taste the tea leaves and freshness from the freshly brewed tea, and the jellies are so soft and melt in your mouth. Second drink I had is the Lemon boba with white pearl, again so refreshing and I customized the sweetness to 50% with less ice so it's the perfect consistency. Shout out to Elvin for taking my order, although the place is new, the baristas are so patient with taking orders and filling drinks. I highly recommend this new boba tea shop!

Yelp
We went during their opening days when they had a buy one, get one free offer. The place was busy and the line was long but the wait wasn't too bad. I wanted one of the chain's most popular drinks, which was the brown sugar pearl Oreo milk foam oolong milk tea. Unfortunately, they didn't have any Oreo crumbles. I also learned that they also didn't have ice cream or toppings for the waffles. So, I adjusted my order to get the brown sugar fresh milk tea with black pearl and a chocolate waffle. For the free tea, they told me that the options were on their posted top 10 list. I tried the mango green tea with mango pearls, which reminded me of chunks of mango. The waffle was ready first and it was served warm. I loved it! I had only had original flavor bubble waffles so this was a wonderful departure as I love all things chocolate. We waited a little bit longer for the teas. I got the teas with regular rice and 100% sweetness as is my usual preference. I thought the ones here were a bit on the sweeter side even for me, particularly the mango one. The quality of these teas though was top-notch and the boba was fresh and chewy. I was glad to try this place when they were offering a deal as I got to try two of their offerings. At nearly $7.50 for the large tea with boba, I found this place to be a little on the more expensive side. Despite this, I'd like to try more of the milk teas, and the ice smoothie and yogurt series. Hopefully they'll be stocked up soon.

Yelp
It really amazes me how many boba places are coming to Jacksonville and I am loving it! Gong cha just opened up a few days ago and I finally got a chance to try this place out! It is located in the panera plaza next to the massage place. When you walk in, it's clean, vibrant, modern, and nice. I ordered the earl grey tea with the 3 jellies, a passionfruit green tea, and an oolong tea. You can definitely taste the tea, which I love! I usually don't like mine sweet so I get either 0% or 15-30% depending on my drink. The earl grey milk tea with 3 jellies was delicious. The oolong milk tea and passionfruit green tea were great as well. Everything was good. Have to come back again to try the waffles.

Dana R.

Yelp
Ordered a double coconut w 30% sugar and regular ice. I've never tried Gong Cha so wasn't sure what to order but I loved it. Very tasty!

Yelp
Gongcha is a global chain Boba tea shop with locations in Asia, Australia and New Zealand. We enjoyed that they had some games to play. I liked the honeydew smoothie with lychee pearl. The passion fruit green tea with Lychee had a nice floral note. The chocolate waffle was nice and warm with some chewy crispiness. The warmth was a nice accompaniment to the cold teas. I wish we would have had a dipping sauce for it. It looks like you may be able to order these with ice cream based on the menu picture. Would inquire next time before ordering :) Overall a good experience. I like the Music they are playing- a little louder lively spot for an afternoon get together.

Yelp
Unexpectedly spent my favorite boba experience here the day after Christmas. I ordered a Matcha latte, passion fruit green tea with grape jelly, strawberry smoothie with rainbow jelly. All delicious! After brunch at Metro Diner we stopped for a quick drink. Ended up spending 2 hours here with a fun competition of Jenga , uno, and other card games. Luckily we had missed the rush. There were 11 of us and we had so much fun. What a great atmosphere! This place was so packed after we ordered our drinks but they were cranking out drinks like nobody's business. Three people behind the counter and there was such a long line. They're doing an insanely great job trying to keep up. Some drinks took a little bit longer but there's enough activities to do to kill time. We were so engaged in our games that our drinks didn't get a photo op. We love Gong Cha!

Yelp
Earl tea milk tea were excellent. Very strong flavor which I NO loyal customers reward at this boba place. You can adjust how much ice or sugar in your boba drink. Parking is tight there.
google avatar

Bethany R.

Yelp
It's a very cute place and has a nice seating area. The menu is on a screen and very easy to read. I got the Brown sugar milk tea and even though I got 100% sweetness it wasn't that sweet. Overall I would definitely stop in again!

Yelp
Gong Cha is a great addition to the Baymeadows area! Plenty of parking available, but it can get really busy here. When it's been busy I've waited up to 20 minutes for a drink, but I figured they were still getting their algorithm down. My recent visits I've only waited 10 minutes or less. Delicious teas and flavors to choose from, and you can add a variety of toppings. They are definitely caffeinated though, so if you're sensitive to caffeine be weary about consuming this dessert beverage at night. My review is solely based on the boba tea. I've yet to try their bubble waffle cones, although in my most recent visit they were temporarily out. I haven't seen any ice cream make an appearance yet, but I'm excited about trying it when it does come through. Friendly and patient staff. Definitely worth supporting!

Yelp
My first time here was Thursday, before the grand opening. I ordered the milk foam green tea with boba and the earl grey milk tea with 3js but switched for black tea. The wait was long, maybe about 20 minutes since they were still figuring things out. There was only one other customer before me but they ran out of boba but they gave me alternative topping options. I enjoyed my drinks and got the golden boba which I thought was a good alternative to black boba. I decided to go again on today (Sunday), for their BOGO special. I noticed there was a misunderstanding with many customers who believed the BOGO was for the whole menu. It was their top 10 which makes sense because it would've been more hectic otherwise. The line was out the door and while it moved fast, it still took 40-50 minutes. I ordered the milk foam green tea with basil seed, Thai tea with boba & the earl grey milk tea with 3js. The free drink comes in a medium and I wish they asked you which of the 2 you wanted as a large. A good suggestion would be to repeat orders because a lot of the wait time was miscommunication between workers and customers. I really enjoyed the earl tea drink. Unfortunately, they forgot sugar in my husband's Thai tea and the milk foam drink, the foam wasn't sitting on top like the first time I went. This visit was rather disappointing compared to the first. The first time, I believe the owners were making my drinks and this time, they had a lot of workers working to work through their special and I believe it was more than they could handle. I'll probably give it some time for them to figure things out before returning especially since there's a few good competitors nearby.

Yelp
Gong Cha is a pretty reputable chain for bubble tea. Teas quality and flavor is decent and they have a lot (perhaps too many) options on the menu. Items are made to order so it does taste fresh. They also allow you to customize sweetness and ice levels. I usually go 30% on both. My go-to has been their earl grey milk tea with 3Js which includes pearls, pudding, and grass jelly. It's basically a fun dessert in a cup. When I want something more simple, I'll opt for an earl grey milk tea with pearls. Their matcha bubble waffle is also pretty good. The matcha flavor is present and the waffle is made fresh so it's hot and crispy on the outside with a slight chewiness on the inside. They didn't have ice cream yet when I tried it, but it would be good having the hot waffle with some. Customer service here leaves a lot of room for improvement though. I'm really not expecting much, but there's no greeting/acknowledgment when you enter. Employees aren't particularly friendly nor helpful either. They don't seem to know the menu well yet, which is ok since they're new-- but they can't really answer specifics about the drinks and the drinks themselves can come out slowly. During their grand opening week, I asked about the BOGO special that they had posted on Facebook. The guy at the counter didn't know what I was talking about. I pulled up the post with listed dates-- He just shrugged his shoulders and said "No, we're not doing that. We're back to normal now." Normal...on your first week? It was more of the attitude rather than not providing the deal that rubbed me the wrong way. Just seems like they're already complacent with the amount of customers. I hope they improve on this! Quality: 4 Value: 3 Service: 1.5

Yelp
Stopped by for an afternoon snack and got the MIlkfoam Wintermelon with pearls. It was so refreshing! The saltiness of the milkfoam blended very well with the sweetness of the wintermelon tea. The boba pearls were chewy and made the drink even better. They gave some crackers which had a sweet and salty flavor. So glad I came here!!

Yelp
There was a new boba spot / puff waffle place in town & of course I had to check it out. I have been eyeing this place for months after I saw their storefront sign go up. Needless to say I was very excited when the day of the much anticipated opening arrived. I came after dinner on a Wednesday night & there were a decent amount of people in there getting their boba fix in too. For those of you that do not know, Gong Cha is very popular franchise and located in various countries. I had my first Gong Cha bubble tea in one of my trips to Asia - and it was probably hands down the best boba tea I've ever had. I've been to various locations around the US - in which all were really good - so naturally I had high hopes for this one too. We ordered the milk foam wintermelon, strawberry creme brûlée, & original puff waffle. The wintermelon was nothing short of what I was expecting. Sweet & savory, perfect dessert after a meal. The strawberry creme brûlée tasted exactly like what the name said, & even had creme brûlée pieces. The boba was cooked perfectly with the perfect sweetness to complement our chosen drinks. They don't have toppings yet - like ice cream - for the puffle, but the fresh puffle was delicious, in which would be even better with ice cream. The menu showed ice cream with the puffles so I am hoping this is something they will bring in the near future after they had settled in. There were very minor mistakes in our original order, in which the staff were quick to fix & replace our drinks. Such friendly people working in there and made our experience even more delightful. I definitely recommend this place and will soon return.

Yelp
A good place to grab a bubba tea and a snack. You can pick how sweet and how much ice you want on the tea, which I appreciate since I typically don't like overly sweet drinks. The bubble waffle was good but wish it had ice cream or some toppings. But that's how the serve it. They do have board games. Which would be great for friends and family to play and hangout while snacking. Clean place and easy to get to.
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
I was SO excited when I first saw that Gong Cha was coming to Jacksonville. I've been to a few locations in Charlotte, NC and I LOVE their menu items. The Panda Milk Tea is my favorite item - complete with two types of boba. The tea is perfectly made, and the staff doesn't look overwhelmed with their long lines. With plenty of seating and games available, you can stay and enjoy your boba.
google avatar

Yelp
The service here is fast and great they are helpful willing to take their time to explain. The ambiance is super photogenic it the type of spot you see people take self with there drink with caption ( my happy place) or ( time to recharge) Now the main event the drinks are perfectly made and taste back like I'm back in Chicago where we first ever found out what boba tea is.
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
Why is a boba place always out of boba? Like... seriously the last three times I went they were out and it was literally in the middle of the day (at least three hours left until closing). Shouldn't you know when you're running out and prepare another batch? ...white pearl is not the same y'all, don't let them fool you! The consistency reminds me of what I imagine eyeballs to be and I just can't stand them. Who doesn't have dairy-free/plant-based milk alternatives in 2023? If all you offer is whole milk in drinks, you are missing out on thousands of dollars and limiting your customers to less than half of the menu. Over 70% of the world's population is lactose intolerant because cow milk is meant for baby cows, not humans! What's up with hiring rude and unprofessional employees? Every time I've come here the person at the register either doesn't seem to know the menu, puts the drink in wrong, or continues talking to coworkers despite seeing customers walk in. The actual ambiance of Gong Cha is nothing special as it's not particularly unique. For a place that prides itself on traditional Taiwanese tea, it's a shame half their drinks taste like sugar water and juice. Was super bummed that I spent almost $20 in drinks here last time just for them to be out of boba and for all of us to be disappointed with our drinks. I love supporting authentic boba places so I'm completely disappointed in Gong Cha and don't think I'll be giving them any more chances. With the number of boba places in Jacksonville, they need to really examine their business practices and at least be able to do the bare minimum.
google avatar

Yelp
Great Boba Tea place. Clean environment (front and back of the house). The menu is easy to follow and has many choices! I ordered a Taro Tea with pearls and my husband ordered a passion fruit green tea drink with pearls. Refreshing, clean and fast.
google avatar

Ari S.

Yelp
Went to the grand opening! This place is definitely a top in the boba places here in Jacksonville! The teas are brewed nicely and despite it being the grand opening, the drinks came out fairly fast. I got the lemon yogurt with peach coconut jelly and it's amazing, not too tart and the sweetness is balanced. Also got the chocolate waffle, it's not thick and not too sweet either, very delicious. My partner got the crème brûlée strawberry latte with lychee jelly, it comes with crème brûlée foam, it's really delicious! Not too creamy and the strawberry flavor isn't strong as well, kind of like a strawberry shortcake but in a coffee form. Definitely coming back here! I'm so glad we finally got a new boba place!
google avatar

Wilber A.

Yelp
Overall this place is a vibe! Went in and it was a pack full! They not only serve boba (bubble tea) but bubble waffles with ice cream. I have to come back here again.

Yelp
Milk tea so yummy, nice place, backgroud cute . I came here every day . really liked it.
google avatar

Nicholas M.

Yelp
Nice clean place. Good parking. Staff nice. I have no idea if the food stuffs were good. Thus, a 3. This waffle cake was a nice in taste and texture. I drank a sip of coffee with tapioca balls in it. Weird texture. Eh, I don't pass any judgement here.
google avatar

Brooklynn K.

Yelp
The drinks there were pretty good it all depends on what you order though because that causes a big factor weather you you will like it or not. The coconut jellies there we're a one star out of five i've personally got the chocolate smoothie with foam on top with the black Boba it was amazing I liked it (50 percent sweet) next time I'm going to ask for a sweet foam on top
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
This is one of my new fav jax boba places next to daily dose. Their tapioca is so sweet and the perfect consistency. Their flavors do not taste too artificial and the flavors are so good. They have such a large variety to pick from as well!
google avatar

Jenny T.

Yelp
Got the crème brûlée brown sugar milk tea with early grey. It was really good. They give you option to adjust your sugar and ice. A lot of topping choices not other places have. Great atmosphere to study at. They have games you can play when coming with friends and family. All their drinks made with fresh tea they brew every few hours.
google avatar

Rebecca B.

Yelp
Walked in and it was like a breath of fresh air. I love Asian tea and this has become my favorite spot. The variety will have you wanting to order everything in the menu. After 5 mins, i decided to try the winter melon with 30% sugar.

Alana H.

Yelp
This place was great loved the ambiance, it felt very welcoming. Service was fast. Boba was great as well and the chocolate waffle is a 10/10! Definitely coming back here. They also had board game to play while you were there. It was super fun especially for a cute little date.
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
Staff seems to not know what's on the menu... I guess that's okay since they just open but also we saw online that they have a BOGO so we were under the impression it was for the whole menu but that wasn't explain until AFTER we ordered, that it was only for select drinks. Seems like false advertising. Also the drinks weren't very special. Very basic menu. There is way better boba place across the street.

Josaan D.

Yelp
The drinks that the young man made were exceptional. They're food and beverages taste great. However, miss wispy spider lashes needs to fix her attitude. Every time I order she gives me and whoever I'm with dirty looks and talks to us like we were born yesterday. Her tone is very rude and it's not something I look forward to every time I go there. Other than that everything is great!
google avatar

Maria R.

Yelp
I went last night an hour before closing thinking the crowd would die down. I was wrong. They were packed at closing. The cashier was very kind and patient. The drinks tasted really good. The only issue was, is that I asked for no boba in any of my drinks because they make me sick. I ordered 4 drinks. They gave me them packed in a bag. I was forced to leave because there was nowhere to sit and there were people packed in so I left. I didn't realize they had a lot of boba in them until I got home and they were inedible. Like rock hard. I'm sad that I paid extra for no ice and 1/3 of my drinks were filled with boba. It wasn't enjoyable trying to drink around it. I couldn't drive back to wait on a long line again. I know they were slammed with customers, so I let it slide. I also ordered a matcha waffle. It was over cooked and dry and lacking in matcha flavor. The circles were very tiny, so that probably attributed to the drier texture and hardness. The place was pretty and the flavors were strong. It's great to have an additional drink place in Jacksonville. Hopefully, the quality control improves on a more regular day.

Tabitha D.

Yelp
BEWARE OF THE ROACHES!! The boba is really hard and extremely chewy but not in the good way. The fruit smoothies taste like they are made from powder not fresh fruit. They have a lot of items on the menu that are not available. The place looks like it's cute and clean but there were roaches running around in the bathroom and you could see them running back into the kitchen area. This is unacceptable for any food business not only is it unsanitary but it's quite honestly disgusting. Get an exterminator, y'all should be shut down. Would not recommend at all.
