I had the pleasure of working with the Events Manager at The Gonville Hotel, in the lead-up to a recent wedding. From our first contact in May, she was incredibly welcoming and professional. I was invited to visit the venue ahead of the big day, where we discussed key details like setup time, access, and how to best manage temperature conditions for the wedding cake.
On the wedding day itself, during one of the hottest weekends in July, I was given access to a well air-conditioned room to safely set up the cake. The kitchen staff were fantastic, providing a trolley to help me unload, offering a refreshing glass of cold water with lemon, and checking in regularly to make sure I had everything I needed.
Every member of staff I interacted with, from Reception to the Kitchen, the Events Team, and beyond was warm, helpful, and clearly dedicated to making the day run smoothly.
It was a wonderful experience from start to finish, and I look forward to working on more weddings at The Gonville Hotel in the future!
