Good as Gold Coffee Opens in Brockley After Soho Residency at Sharps | Eater London

"After a successful central London coffee residency, owners Anthony Khouri and Tom Hibbert have opened their first permanent café in Brockley (formal opening 19 March, with a soft launch already underway). The venue continues to platform roasters from across London, the U.K. and Europe, while Hibbert — formerly group chef at the Gentlemen Baristas — contributes an inventive lunch program that so far includes gozleme and a truffle mushroom melt; during their time at Sharps in Fitzrovia they also ran substantial puff-pastry tarts at the counter. The operation presents as a high-quality, community-minded specialty coffee spot and a fresh contender in the growing, more varied south-east London café scene." - James Hansen

Things I Want to Try in London
Good as Gold

Such a cool breakfast spot, the food and coffee were great! The team at Good as Gold were really nice and the service was spot on too! Saturday mornings can be busy, it feels like quite a popular place. I can’t wait to go back for more!

I was GAGged by my recent trip to Good As Gold. The staff were warm, welcoming, and suitably trendy for a saturday morning oat iced latte in the zone 2/3 borderlands. A lively debate erupted at my table over whether the cafe gave more of a Berlin or Copenhagen vibe (insufferable i know). This question was answered by our waitress who informed us it was Copenhagen because "everyone is fresh faced and they make their food from scratch". Good as Gold to know. My beverage buddies had some different drink choices. One had a delightfully delectable detoxifying Apple Cucumber and mint press. Which he described as "quite nice but a bit cucumbery". The other Magnificently milky Matcha which she described as "a bit earthy actually but in a good way". My own Oat milk ice latte performed the role i required for my mind body and soul, leaving me with a glowing smile and positive outlook for the whole morning. There's exposed pipes on the ceilings, don't come in here if you have a nervous disposition around such things.

We had a late lunch, after 3pm, but the sandwiches were freshly made and the café had a calm vibe. Coffees were small but good and the sandwiches excellent. Prices are bit high but not ridiculous for the quality.

Excellent brunch spot. Lovely service and the food was prefect. Delicious poached eggs and toast, and best bacon I’ve had for a while. Apple juice was great too. Definitely will return…

Good coffee and good food, did not blow my head of its shoulders. 5 star reviews should be places that send my taste buds into the milkyway. A million leagues in front of a costa but a few thousand miles behind senbloodysational. Worth a trip as it may be your bliss. Thanks for some good service in a clean joint with some cruisy vibes

First time i have been here. Ive stopped drinking coffee, but wanted to try the foccaccio, was disappointed that it was only available as brunch. Had a dish called Statta which was very nice. The cold pressed cucumber, apple and mint drink was very disappointing. A very small glass and tasteless. You could not taste any mint. The service was average and I was surprised they had no WiFi...

We went there for brunch and despite it was full, the waiter was trying to find a way to accommodate us which was really nice of them. The food was really good, fresh, and delicious. And the food and coffee are reasonably priced.

One of the best brunches in London, food was super delicious and code was good too. We had avocados on toast and jalapeño and sweetcorn fritters. Customer service was excellent and the place atmosphere was cool, can’t wait to go and try something new there.
