Good Boy

Good Boy surprised me. It's hard to find fast casual restaurants/caterers/food trucks that have a home-cooked feel, especially at a good price. Good Boy fits this niche. The fried chicken was very tasty but a little greasy. The chicken pieces had decent meat. They brined the chicken and the fry is crispy but not overly battered. The flavors (the brine and seasoning for the fry) are balanced and kind of addicting. It's good and I'd come back for more. However, the collard greens are really good!! A large component of these collard greens is the broth and the quality of the braised meat. The greens are not wilting and still hold their essence. It totally surprised me. Delicious. The portion size is enough for one person at lunch. The service was very fast with good communication. The price was the more reasonable of the meals my party ordered at the food court. I'll bring my European visitors here. Thank you for putting some really well prepared vegetable options on the menu!

I like the food here and generally have a good experience, but I had an odd encounter with one of the chefs (?). I came in to make a takeout order for a couple cheeseburgers off the kids menu for my nephews I was on my way to babysit. As I was asking a question about the menu, the chef shut me down very defensively to insist the kids menu was for kids -only-, as if to imply I myself was taking advantage of it. I was so taken aback I ended up ordering the regular cheeseburgers just to make sure I came back with something. I don’t know why they have someone policing a simple menu option this way but I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Went with a friend for lunch and ordered a ton of food. All of it was very delicious and super affordable for what you get. We got a couple coney island dogs, a Tennessee hot chicken sandwich with fries, the Nueske's Bacon Cheddarwurst with chips, a root beer float, and a cherry float for about $55. 10 out of 10 would definitely go again.

I ate there a week ago and had a great experience. Cracjers and pimento cheese were great. Burger was perfectly seasoned. There was an oxtail special that did all the right things. Everything our table had was comforting and very well executed. Also, I was asked for a picture of my dog which is always a welcome request!

Chicken wild Rice soup was delicious. Very flavorful, no salt needed. My only complaint, and its not that as this is personal preference is that there could have been more "soup" to balance out how much rice etc. there was. I dont use crackers in soup, but wouldnt have needed to! It was packed full of ingredients.

I stopped in on a busy Saturday night and ordered the turkey sandwich to go. The food came out quickly and was very good! I would definitely grab food from here again.

Waited 35 mins for a fried chicken sandwich and chips. Not worth it if you are going on your lunch break. Any of the other places here take 5-10 mins.

I got the good boy burger, fries, and Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was good, fries were decent. Gave it 3 stars due to the cook only wearing one glove and touching food with his bare hand
