Where to Drink Manhattans in Boston in 2024 | Eater

"This brand new spot in Charlestown has set itself apart from the city’s many cocktail offerings by emphasizing “farm-to-glass” creations. Ingredients like fermented blackberry, curry roasted carrots, and Asian pear sprinkle the cocktail menu, meaning you might actually get a boost of vitamins in your drink (while supporting local farms!). We’re thrilled to see how this produce-focused drink menu evolves with the seasons will mix in unconventional ingredients into more traditional drinks like a Manhattan made with Angel’s Envy." - Molly McDonough

Cleveland Restaurant Says They Were ‘Bullied’ Into Putting Genders on Their Restrooms | Eater

"A Cleveland restaurant that opened less than a year ago and serves alcohol had been operating with gender-neutral, single-stall restrooms labeled by fixture (urinal/toilet). During an inspection primarily for a new patio, an inspector cited an Ohio requirement that restaurants serving liquor have “two complete restrooms (one for each sex)” and demanded clear M and W gender markers, warning the owner that their liquor license could be at risk—a prospect the owner said would cripple the business and make it impossible to pay staff. The restaurant publicly criticized the demand as bullying on Instagram, saying customers had praised and photographed the gender-neutral bathrooms for safety and shorter waits; the Ohio Department of Commerce later said the permit was never in danger, and after national attention the Superintendent of Liquor Control called to resolve a misunderstanding and the painted M and W markings were removed. The owner says the business will comply with the law as written while fighting the requirement behind the scenes and will not enforce gendered usage of facilities." - Madeleine Davies

Have heard nothing but good things about Good Company… especially the wings. When Cleveland Mag & Cleveland Scene voted this place with the best wings… they weren’t lying. I decided to try the Tavern wings & the new Cherry Cola wings. They are the best wings I’ve ever had. Falling off the bone while still remaining crisp on the outside. The lime & roasted jalapeño flavor of the tavern wings is delicious. Perfect balance of lime & heat from the jalapeños. The cherry cola wings were nice & sweet & sticky. Again, falling off the bone while still have that saucy crispy outside. All I can say is wow… Good Company you have made wing perfection. Can’t wait to come back and try the other flavors!

Where do i begin! The location is awesome. I have lived in cleveland over 30 years, it is amazing to see the transformation of Battery Park and Edgewater area. Good Company wings are absolutely amazing, they are fall off the bone tender, and the sauces to choose from are great (not your standard wing flavors) . The bonzo balls. (Hush puppies and falafel balls had a baby) with thai chili hmmm good. Must try for yourself

Google
Cool joint. Gabagool with the patty added was heavenly. Wings were great, but not incredible. The wings absolutely do fall off the of the bone unlike any other wing I’ve ever seen before, so if that’s your thing, you’re in heaven. I just personally think I like a bit more of a crisp wing, but the flavor was still good. Fries were pretty good. Chicken skins were… well chicken skins. They were good, but I wouldn’t get them again, definitely my least favorite thing I had here.

Visited on June 8th at 7 PM. Unfortunately, my experience was impacted by the bartender on duty—believe her name was Emma, a white woman with curly hair. She was noticeably friendly to the woman I was with but incredibly dismissive toward me. It was uncomfortable and even my friend noticed it, which made the experience feel personal and disappointing. That said, Good Company still has a lot going for it. The food is outstanding—the wings might be the best I’ve had in Cleveland: super crispy, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The burger is also top-tier. It’s definitely a solid spot to chill with friends or go on a casual date. The atmosphere is cool and relaxed, and aside from this one interaction, the staff usually seem upbeat and welcoming. I’d love to come back and give it another shot, but I hope future visits are more respectful across the board.

Came here for the first time for brunch for my husband's birthday. Highly recommend, the wings are amazing and be sure to use the fry vinegar on the fries - gamechanger.

Google
They didn’t seem to busy when my wife and I went but we were informed they didn’t have enough workers and they were trying to catch up on their orders. They did a good job letting us know that off the bat and we didn’t have a problem waiting. Once we were seated service was fine. I ordered the 72 hour marinated wings. They were delicious. My wife got a sandwich. She thought it was flavorful. Overall it was a good place to eat.

Google
This is a great little spot! Probably the best wings I've ever had. I highly recommend them. They have a tasty chicken sandwich and the fries are crispy and delicious! A quick walk to Edgewater is a nice perk!

Google
i went for the first time, i have been looking for new places to go and i came across this place. when i first walked in, i loved how spacious it was! the person who served me was very friendly and attentive, he answered all my questions and even got me some pickle juice (btw makes in house pickles). i sat there and drunk my ipa and ate some chicken wings. they was so delicious, they are a sweet and spicy glaze sauce garnished with garlic…kiss to the chef! it was so good, they have a full menu and specials on certain days. i can’t wait to come back and try other food items!

Yelp
Easy to see why they were voted Best Wings in Cleveland by Cleveland Scene & Cleveland Magazine! Every bite and sip was perfection! Cooler Ranch Dry Seasoned 72 hour Wings The Good One with Red Relish The Gabagool Good Company Fries Snowqueen of Texas with chamomile infused reposado tequila, honey & lemon

Yelp
BEST WINGS IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE.... The $13 is worth it... I PROMISE!!! So I had been hearing a lot about this place and finally decided to give it a try and boy am I HAPPY!!! Our bartender Emma (I hope i remembered correctly) was the sweetest & created such a great vibe! She also helped us pick our wings and even made a special beer for us (10000000/10) it was almost like a michelada! We had the tavern style, pecorino garlic, and dad's hot sauce blend...and when I say they were all DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! I truly do not think you can go wrong.... It was a tough pick but the tavern style wings were the tanks favorite of the 3!!!!! It was so hard not to ask for all of the flavors... but I most certainly will be back soon the try them all!!!!!! I 1000% recommend giving this place a chance, even if it is a "little pricy" for the wings... SO WORTH IT!!

Yelp
Good food and good company, the foundation of any great restaurant. Fortunately Good Company provides ample of both, along with being supremely located in the Battery Park neighborhood, a stone's throw away from Edgewater. Did I also mention that they have a free parking lot? The restaurant is playful but trendy, and manages to appeal to both the sports-fanatic (TVs behind the bar) as well as the friend who's a better person than you that doesn't eat meat. While their dinner sandwiches like the Gabagool are what put them on the Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives map, I'm a staunch believer that Good Company's brunch can throw down with the best of them and could potentially be better than their dinner?? The crowd pleasing breakfast burrito comes in both meat and vegan options, and you can even savor their winsome 72-hour chicken wings in the mornings too. Their wings quite literally fall off the bone, and are evenly coated with whatever delectable sauce you choose - don't skip them. Any of their smashburger variants also hits the spot. Not super hungry? Snack on the pretzels or loaded fries. Their desserts and shakes are quite popular and can be packaged to go, but somehow my stomach never quite makes it there. Service-wise, everyone is friendly but not overbearing and generally leaves you be once you order. That's not to say they don't care about the customers - take a look in either of the all-gender bathrooms and you'll see them stocked with feminine hygiene products and even a changing station.

Yelp
There's a lot to like here. I like the casual vibe of the place. And, the service was excellent. My wife and I both ordered the Argentinian steak sandwich. The chimichurri was excellent, and I asked for more on the side. I liked the bun and the toppings. The only problem was that there wasn't very much steak in the sandwich. But, the sides were phenomenal. There weren't as many fries should've been, but they were excellent. I will definitely come back here for the fried chicken skins, if for no reason. Seriously: I might just eat nothing but this next time, and then check myself into a hospital after I have a heart attack. But, it will be totally worth it. They were that good. We came here about a half an hour before closing time, but they were cool enough to let us stay without trying to kick us out. I would definitely come back here again when I have more time.

Yelp
Our server Paulina and the host were so sweet. I had no idea this place was featured on Guy Fieri's list of good places. My party of 4(2adults and 2 kids) enjoyed the specials starting with the Wings. We decided on the sweet and spicy bbq dry rub, the Gabagool with a beef patty which gives Potbelly sandwich vibes, and the Good One. This former alley turned restaurant is special as they have a homemade applesauce for kids. It tastes just like apple pie filling. My 2 y/o ate a hamburger for the first time here. The poppyseed bun did not phase her. I love how everything is made in house and the menu items feel intentional.
google avatar

Ailin J.

Yelp
Wings were fantastic! Not surprised they're award winning. I've never have wings where the meat was falling off the bone. My favorite was the sweet and spicy bbq rub which gave the perfect combo but not too spicy so I could easily keep eating. Fries came out super crispy on the outside but soft in the inside and the dry hot seasoning on it brought it to a whole different level.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Good Company. I have been a handful of times and my experiences have been positive. My favorite menu item is easily the mushroom burger - ugh, so good. Just typing it makes me want to get one! Heads up that they only do dry rubs for their wings. I have had them once or twice but, no matter how flavorful the rub is, I'm much more of a sauce girl. I have also had a milkshake (yum!) and another dessert (not so yum, but mostly my fault for not trying something I wasn't crazy about). The customer service has been great as well though a bit slow during busy times. There are only a handful of parking spots in front of the building so going to the adjacent lot is usually the best move. Hope you go check it out!

Yelp
We love Sunday steak night. You can get their delicious steak any night but they knock a few bucks off on Sunday. Veggies are always good but the fries are not great. Service is very good and atmosphere is comfortable.

Yelp
I went for the first time this week. My son is a frequent customer with his group and recommended we try it. The service was great. Very attentive and professional. The food was outstanding. We had the "Good Company" burger and a spicy chicken sandwich. Both on a home made bun. Both preparations were very good. But even better were the 72 hour wings. We had the Thai chili flavor. The wings were super tender and fell off the bone. Great flavor. This is a must try spot. Well done GC!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great dinner at Good Company. Located in a primarily residential area, there is a private parking lot just around the corner from the entrance. The interior is airy and minimalist style with dark green accents. We started with the Thai chili wings which were fall-off-the-bone tender and the perfect balance of sweet and heat. We also had the seasonal cocktail apple cider margarita. For dinner we had the Good One burger which is plenty to share (or to take half home!). The food came out quickly despite the restaurant being pretty full. I would definitely come back again.

Yelp
The wings here are too die for! They are so tender and flavorful. I love the parm with gremolata. The burger with the smashed patties are also delicious and savory. Sometimes a little too saucy though. Also don't skip the fries! The basket is ginormous and extra yummy with their house ranch seasoning.

Yelp
We loved Good Company. The food was delicious, the decor was whimsical and the service was good. Good Company is one more reason to love the near west side. Parking is fairly convenient. There is a lot on the side of the building and street parking in front. It is located in an old industrial building, so there is tons of space. I can't say enough about the Shroomer. It was an amazing vegan sandwich. The mushrooms were shredded, the onions were crispy and it had malted pickles. I have never had malted pickles. They were awesome. Our server told us they hired a new vegan chef and now there are several vegan items on the menu. My partner ordered the Good One burger and said it was amazing also. Items are al a carte so we also ordered a basket of fries. It was exciting to see vegan options on their brunch menu and shake menu. It was the perfect dinner before heading to a movie. We will be back!

Yelp
Good company is a great laid back spot. I loved the ambiance and the greenery, someone really has a green thumb over there. I enjoyed everything we ordered. I would definitely come back to try their famous Gabagool (shout out to all the Sopranos fans out there).

Yelp
So I'm a little torn between rating this restaurant a 3 Or a 4 The staff was nice but the service was slow. Only 2 waitresses for the entire restaurant. The place was very noisy but overall a good atmosphere. Our food was delicious. Only problem is, everything is à la cart which brought this restaurant from $$ to $$$ This place was on the national TV show diners the diners drive in's and dives. Although enjoyable. Not quite a 4.. the desert menu had 4 items on it. 3 of the 4 were not available. They only had the milkshakes.

Yelp
The Char Sui 72 hour wings are some of the best wings I've ever eaten. They also make REAL cheese sauce....not Cheez Whiz....Justin is the BEST server EVER

Sydney S.

Yelp
Delicious food, fast service and an amazing atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone coming to town to visit!! Plus side is they have a vegan shake!!! Will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Tried the wings from Good Company and they did not disappoint! They were very tender and the seasoning was delicious! The price was on the higher end for wings but definitely worth it
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped by recently while in the area and I am really happy I did. The wings I had were absolutely outstanding! I stopped by while hungry one evening and grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartender was cool and quite helpful. I wasn't super hungry, so I decided to go with some wings. I went with the pecorino and gremalota sauce. The food didn't take long and it came out looking great. If you are a crispy wing person, these wings are not that. They were incredibly tender and flavorful. The sauce was like a pecorino mornay infused with garlic and herbs. It was rich and flavorful. I had asked for blue cheese, and it didn't need it. The blue cheese was very good though. I was really happy with my wings and would definitely order them again. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would return again soon if in the area. Great wings and service.

Yelp
The ambiance is good and it is a cool place to hang out but I didn't like at all how they handled the fact that my boyfriend got an allergic reaction because of their food. Apparently they cook with soy oil most of their food and there's nothing on their menu specifying that. Also, the servers never mentioned or asked if we had any allergies to make sure the food as ok for us. The food came, we enjoyed it, it was tasty and good but after while after that he started feeling sick and ended up having a really bad night. The only thing they told us is that they would make sure they would add a note on the menu specifying that they cook with that oil and gave him a gift card to come back. How is he supposed to come back to use it if he's allergic to the ingredients that they use for all their dishes?! I feel like this should have been handled differently and I am not happy about it because it really messed up our entire evening/night.

Yelp
Great spot to eat in Battery Park. The burger did not disappoint and I look forward to trying out more menu items in the future. Tip: Go early, use your wait time to walk around the neighborhood or cross through the tunnel to Edgewater Park.
google avatar

Uma F.

Yelp
Consistently good food, service and a chocolate pb milkshake that I may say is better than Tommys on Coventry (blasphemy, I know) The burgers are amazeballs The butter dip they give with the pretzels is ridiculously good. I might eat it with a spoon if it was socially acceptable. This place is a gem

Mike B.

Yelp
I was In there with friends having dinner and each had a couple drinks. I have been in the restaurant business for 20 years and another couple I was with own a restaurant.. we got cut off from the server and manger because they said they felt like we weren't able to pay are bill. That is extremely unprofessional and horrible customer service ! Never been to a restaurant where I was asked to leave for spending money! The food was great and we would have gone back but I will never be back and make sure to tell everyone I know about this horrible experience
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect stop after third Thursday at 78th St studios! Friendly wait staff, great retro-ish vibe, cool decor, tasty beer and delectable appetizer. We shared the buffalo chicken fries. Smoked chicken, pickled celery, blue cheese... every bite was oh so tasty. I look forward to returning to try some other interesting items.
google avatar

Evan F.

Yelp
These folks are consistently ramping up the quality of their food as shown by this recent meal we had. We'd never had the fried celery root "chips", but they really hit the spot as an alternative to fries, and they allowed us to put on whichever wing rub or dipping sauce we wanted! The Good One burger was just perfect with its charred patties, special sauce and interesting bun, and the Thai chili wings were gooey, had a kick and were perfectly crispy on the outside. So glad we finally stepped up and came back to this spot after so many years, and so happy with what they're doing in that kitchen!

Yelp
We visited Good Company in April 2024. My husband watches Diners Dive In's and Dives and they had an episode at Good Company and Guy Fieri loves the Gabagool sandwich - so we obviously had to try that. Definitely worth the hype - shared this sandwich and the curry fries and the Strawberry Streusel milkshake. Would recommend

Yelp
Great spot, in terms of space, atmosphere, concept and service. It's long been one of my favorite places to take people when I want to impress them with something a little different that's both delicious and down to earth. Unfortunately, the evolution of the menu has lost me a little. There used to be multiple things I loved and wanted and had a hard time choosing between. Now, I'm lucky if there's one thing I really want, and I usually feel kinda "eh" about it once I've eaten it. The Chicken Williams sandwich tasted amazing, but the "pulled" chicken was actually cubed, making it almost impossible to eat. The malted pickles take over The Good One, their only burger, which seems to have gotten greasier with time. And they've long gotten rid of their chicken patty sandwich and their chickpea patty sandwich. I don't know, man. I still like this place. The food IS good. It just... doesn't hit quite right for me anymore. But I do love the fries (get them with the sweet and spicy rub and the white cheddar cheese sauce for dipping) and the cocktails (the Apple Doesn't Fall Far is such a great seasonal supper) and, on occasion, the milkshakes. Go for the vibe and expect good food. But if you'd fallen in love with past iterations of their menu, brace yourself for some disappointments in the change-ups.
google avatar

Debbie N.

Yelp
First off the burgers and buns here are to die for!!! So delicious and so consistently good. But recently came for the BOOZY MILKSHAKES - so yummy!! Michael, our excellent server recommended the vanilla with bourbon and he wasn't lying when he said it was the best! My husband and I split the shake and they were even kind enough to split it between 2 glasses for us!!! Also, the Shaved Brussel Sprout Salad was absolutely delicious! Always a fun place to visit and great location to take a walk afterwards.
google avatar

Kaitlin R.

Yelp
All of the food was good. I especially loved the salad/grain bowl and the soft pretzels with both cheese and sweet butter dips. Very cute patio that was lovely on a summer evening.

Meg A.

Yelp
Really impressed with Good company & their wings. The chicken falls right off the bone. We tried the wings that were on special (tangy honey mustard sauce with chives) and we were impressed. The place is very trendy and has a good vibe.

Yelp
Stopped by during thanksgiving weekend and was surprised that it wasn't super busy. Our service was quick and all the staff was very friendly. The entire restaurant, including the bathrooms, were very clean. I got the chickpea wings with their tavern BBQ sauce. I don't know that I'd really say they were a wing? But they were tasty nonetheless! I also got the high life battered celery root which was very good!
google avatar

Valerie G.

Yelp
We came on a Saturday night. There was no wait, but the restaurant had a solid buzz of chatter throughout. I got the chickpea wings with the Thai chili sauce and a side of fries. I appreciated that the sauce came on the side. The wings were good, but to call them wings is a bit misleading in my opinion. They are really more like a falafel. For it to be $14 and to only get 6 seemed a little high for me. Overall the flavor was good though. Then for me, the fries took the show! Cooked to perfection and not greasy. Some of the best fries I've had. The decor was nice and modern. They had 2 gender neutral bathrooms and in the one I went into, they added in a diaper changing table as one was not already there/on the wall. In the same area, they also had a couple handy items (tampons, breath mints, etc.). I appreciated these small (yet meaningful) touches.
google avatar

Ash B.

Yelp
Food and service was great! I have she Duck Confit. It was delicious. I recommend trying the fries as well. These are incredible.
google avatar

Rob S.

Yelp
We had a really good time coming to Good Company. The food was amazing and the Gyro fries are absolutely amazing . The Surf and Turf was my favorite. The bun was soft and tasty and the meat was surprisingly crispy. The burger was as we. But it's only cooked one way - done. The staff was great and we had a great time.
google avatar

Liv G.

Yelp
This place is STUPID DELICIOUS. I dream of their wings. Fun fact: they have secret wing flavor available down the street after 10pm at Old 86. The flavor is a honey mustard sort of thing and is easily the best thing I've ever eaten. All wings from here are tender and delicious! Fries are life changing. Only wish the milkshakes were wayyyy bigger. Go here...and then let your obsession commence!

Marissa D.

Yelp
We were lucky enough to rent out Good Company for the night of our wedding, and let me just tell you--this review is not only about our amazing reception but also to make sure the world knows how insanely delicious the food is. I didn't realize a lifelong dream of mine was to hear 'You had the best wedding food ever' (actual quote from several family members and literally all of our friends), but Jeffery and his team made that happen! Truly, the worst thing about having your wedding reception here is that no wedding has ever or will ever compare. The wings? To die for. The vegan sliders? Absolute magic, even for non-vegans (and if you've ever tried to please both, you know that's no easy feat!). The cocktails? Life-changing. Their pastry chef must have been hand crafted by the culinary gods themselves, because it was the best cake I've ever had. Not a cake person? Me either. Until now. In the matter of one night I was converetd ot being a cake person, and my entire family won't stop asking about Celery Root and how they want more of it. Now time is marked as BGC and AGC (before Good Company and After Good Company). Life is different, colors are brighter, and all food and cake is ruined for me and that's something I'm okay with!! If you haven't been here yet, block off a night and go. Then block off another one the week after because trust me--you'll want to go again. These folks are seriously a gift. We're still on cloud nine from the night they gave us, and we can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Went here recently and was pleasantly surprised by the vegan options. The service was great and we really enjoyed the experience!!

Yelp
It was our first time at Good Company and it was their first brunch ever - in a match of firsts we came out really impressed with how beautiful the space is and with the quality of the food, as well as the super friendly service. I had the good morning burger that was absolutely delicious - everything mixed well, but the homemade milk bun with poppyseeds is incredible and really adds to it. My wife had the gaba egg and cheese that was also great, and both the mimosa and the bloody mary were more than approved. We also had a side of fries o'ryan, very crispy and tasty. Finished the meal with the chocolate hazelnut fried babka, another must, and wonderfully paired with fresh berries and whipped cream. Good Company is highly recommended and we will come back to try dinner as well for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
My friend brought me here because it is a local favorite, and I can definitely tell why. The Gabagool was very delicious and flavorful, though it did feel a little over salted by the end of my meal, making the last couple of bites a little difficult without a good amount of water to go with it. My friend got some wings that was super delicious. Our waiter asked if she wanted some ranch on the side, but did not inform her that that would cost extra, which I feel like was not a good customer service. But otherwise, our waiter was really nice and checked on us regularly despite the whole restaurant being full.

Christina K.

Yelp
Went to Good Company again tonight, and it is consistently excellent. Just as great as the first visit. The 72 hour wings are awesome and the burger is perfect! They also make a nice cocktail.

Sadie S.

Yelp
Food was amazing! Highly recommended the bonzo ball appetizer. The wings were excellent as well. They were crisp and slid right off the bone. We were seated very fast and service was also very good. Would definitely go back!

Bill S.

Yelp
Food was awesome. Wings were unbelievable. Tasty & tender! Burger is now in my top 5.So so good! Service was spot on. Ambiance was quintessential neighborhood restaurant. In Battery Park Cleveland.

Yelp

Yelp
The food here, especially the wings is SO good! One of my favorite restaurants in the area. I love the seasoned fries as well. Service has always been lovely.

Carol H.

Yelp
Went for brunch and it was as fantastic! Great cocktails and amazing food. Would highly recommend the apple cider mimosa and the corned beef hash. Five star!!

Kristine A.

Yelp
Great service at the bar, friendly place. Wings were excellent as was the egg and mortadella sandwich. Eclectic decor-- in November I like a warmer atmosphere but it was still good.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
This place has really good food AND is super kid friendly! My littles loved the Toy Story and Incredibles on the tv and everyone in the restaurant acknowledged them like real human beings!

Yelp
Great hamburger, friendly and attentive staff, quick service. Casual and cool. Walk to the beach for sunset after dinner.

Yelp
Such a cute place with good vibes! Stopped in Sunday to grab carry out brunch. Glad I ordered ahead (which was very easy on their app) because it was pretty busy when we arrived. The food was ready exactly as scheduled and everything was well packaged for the commute home. Ordered the wings, a few good morning burgers and a burrito. Everything was tasty but I'd say the burrito was the standout. The wings were good but I was expecting more and the burger was good but the patty lacked any seasoning. I will definitely go back again and try more things and a different flavor of wings.
