Seven D.C. Restaurant Openings to Know, January 2025 | Eater DC
"A fast-growing sweets shop that debuted new 60-seat digs with a sizable patio inside the Johns Hopkins building, opening daily with hours starting at 7 a.m." - Tierney Plumb
Great craft coffee and donuts! Good value, and in a nice location near the mall. We’ve been to a bunch of shops around DC, and the coffee here was certainly better than Tatte and some others.
I peaked in and checked out the microphone, and it looked good, and smelled great, so then we came in. The donuts were really light and airy, though the icing were all a bit sweeter than I might prefer.
We got a Cortado and a chai, it was the best chai or Cortado we had had since coming to DC and visiting a number of shops.
Nice space inside.

We visited Good Company Doughnuts & Cafe in Penn Quarter while exploring Washington, DC, and it was such a treat! We came here for breakfast and brunch with a friend, and everything was fabulous. The sandwiches were fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area – we’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re in DC!

Good Company has a nice patio setup with plenty of seating and umbrellas, which made it a comfortable spot to enjoy breakfast. Inside was pretty busy but the food did not take too long to come out.
The doughnuts were fresh and tasty and definitely the highlight of the meal, although the final bill felt a little on the pricey side. The iced coffee had a slightly burnt taste and the sausage was on the salty end, but the breakfast sandwiches were satisfying overall.
A solid spot worth checking out, especially for the doughnuts.
Some of the other photos here are definitely not from this exact location.

Great location, nitro cold brew was good, average service. They have an ordering kiosk inside which made placing the order very easy. Recommend it if you are in the area

Stopped in between the holidays so it was less busy; however, the service was quick and friendly. The food was good, we ordered some doughnuts, pancakes, and eggs, all were very delicious, kids loved the pancakes! Would definitely stop in again next time in DC!

I came in for a coffee and a donut, and it took 15 minutes to get my latte. Almost no one was here (see photo). After sitting at my table for 15 minutes I had to go to the counter to ask if they were working on my coffee. Their response was “yeah, lattes take a long time to steam.” He seemed more interested in chatting with his friend at the counter. When they finally dropped it at my table I didn’t get an apology, just “here you go.” Donut was good, latte was good, service was terrible. Wish I wouldn’t have tipped ahead of time.

My book club met here this month. We met at 11am on a Sunday and had no problem fitting 7 of us at a corner booth/table meant for 5. There are about 6 low top tables as well as some bar style seats around the perimeter and high tables. If it’s a nice day, they have a really nice patio out front with probably 6 more tables.
I think this location is pretty new. I’ve been to the one in SW before and this is on par. Good place to do some studying, reading, meet up for breakfast/coffee with people, escape the mall for a minute and rest with a donut…I had a scone and an herbal iced tea but everyone else got donuts - nobody had leftovers. Their mini donuts are really great for a “why pick only one?” Mood.
I’m glad to see Good Company Doughnuts in DC! I missed them when I left Virginia 💕
