We came across this place on a road trip to MI. This place had the best Chicken fried steak we’ve ever had. We also had the Cajun Benedict, and it was delicious! Service was so friendly from the door to table. I would definitely go back!

Good Evan’s Restaurant is fantastic, delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and excellent service. A big shoutout to the manager, John, who truly goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. Highly recommend!

The wait wasn’t long at all. Our server was a sweetheart. The food was good but the green chili on top of my omelette was slightly cold, maybe just from the sour cream? The flavor of the green chili was really dang good though, and the omelette was large, fluffy and cooked perfectly. The tots didn’t taste freshly fried. More like they are pre-made and put under a warmer or something. I ended up sharing my tots with the table. All in all, I enjoyed my meal and would just order a different side next time. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his shrimp and grits. Definitely a decent breakfast spot and I would come back again and again for the pop tarts! We got a brown sugar cinnamon one to share with the table and we all gave it a 10! I would love to try different flavors next time as well.

During our family road trip to Colorado, we stopped in Lincoln, Nebraska, and discovered Good Evans Breakfast and Lunch — and wow, what a great find! The breakfast was absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing family meal. The staff was outstanding — friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. A special shoutout to the manager, who stopped by our table twice to make sure everything was to our liking. That kind of service really stands out. If you’re ever in Lincoln, don’t miss the chance to enjoy a meal at Good Evans. We left full and happy — highly recommend it!

Google
For its prices, not bad as the proportions were good and some of the dishes were flavorful and tasty. Friend highly recommended the southwest bene, Mexican power bowl, or country fried steak. Our server was nice and service was fast (though bc of how busy, they did forget our pancakes). Overall, not a bad place to get brunch from.

Google
First time eating here and it was awesome. The host was very nice the waiter very nice and helpful. The food was amazing and looked amazing too. Will be going back for sure. Can't wait to try lunch. I had the avocado toast and my son had the breakfast pie mmm. Second time now and still 5 stars on all great place. Will stop here every time I'm in Lincoln.

Google
Food delicious. Service excellent. We had Faye as our waitress, and she was awesome. We had the Chicken Fried steak and the Persea Americana omelet, and they were great. Slight wait time to be expected with such an amazing place to eat. Highly recommend for a Sunday brunch.

Yelp
Shared parking In a strip mall. This is a corner unit We were second in line and attended to almost immediately after the first person. In fact the hostess seated us and told us who our server was going to be. Great job! They definitely have their service down to a science. She gave us a while to peruse the menu and our server Madeline came to assist us. Madeline was bright and cheery today. And definitely brightened up the day. Thank you for that I got me a cranberry mimosa and the hubs got a screw driver. My mimosa was excellent- not too strong; just the way I like it! The drinks also came pretty promptly. Food took a little longer. But it was delicious. Hubby ordered biscuits and gravy and I ordered the pork belly power bowl. My pork belly power bowl was delicious. Pork belly is crispy and with the sriracha cream sauce it was light and delicious. Hash was crispy and the pickled onions were delicious. It was a wonderful combination.i love it. There are are variety of seats booths and tables. And it's nice and clean. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Our family enjoyed a great brunch at Good Evans. Some creative dishes, as well as your brunch staples. The serving team was helpful and accommodating with our young children.

Yelp
Great brunch. I had the biscuits and gravy w eggs over easy and a side of sausage. Delicious. Our server was on it. Can't say enough.

Yelp
We went on a busy weekend morning for our first visit. Service was excellent, food was excellent but the restaurant was a little small and loud. And although the food was excellent the selections were somewhat limited. I do prefer early bird for a local restaurant but we would go back here as well.

Yelp
Great food, consistently, and across the menu. Corned beef and hash is a fav! Go to place always!

Yelp
I have never been a fan of Eggs Benedict untill my wife introduced me to this place. I recommend the Acapulco and Cajun Benes. Staff is always friendly.

Yelp
This was a nice brunch spot with friends. A bit busy on a Sunday morning, but expected. I got the Cajun Bene with tater tots; the hollandaise sauce on top pairs well with the shrimp and andouille sausage. I am also just a big fan of hollandaise sauce, haha - if you're a fan too, you'd enjoy any of their benedicts. My friends and I got pancakes and they were a good size and helped complete a full breakfast already.

Yelp
Grabbed breakfast on a Sunday at Good Evans. I'm glad we got there early - it was packed, with a wait when we left! Service was kind and quick - they even gave us cups of coffee to go! I got the breakfast sandwich with tots. The tots were delish - crispy and hot! The sandwich was good - I would have preferred something other than ham.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
The house was packed and well worth the wait Delicious food and plenty on the plate. Staff smiles and greetings with acknowledgement.

Jessica M.

Yelp
Highly recommend! The food was amazing and such a cute restaurant on the inside! We had to wait for like 10 minutes but it was well worth it.

Dallas C.

Yelp
The place is busy for a reason. Shrimp and grits was outstanding. I need to come back to try the breakfast pie.

Yelp
We had to go a bit farther off the highway to find this place but the ratings were so good we just had to make the detour. The modern farmhouse vibe of the restaurant fits well with their menu. We arrived at 1:30 and had about a 10 min wait on a Sunday. It was busy. They close at 2:30 and when we left around 2:15pm, it was still busy in there. I had to get the pancakes. Three HUGE pancakes were delivered. They were nice and hot (which can be hard with pancakes). They were so good. I maybe got 2/3 through them before I had to give in and realize I couldn't eat another bite. Husband had the crispy chicken Cobb salad. It was delicious as well. He said it had a ton of bacon on it plus he liked the mixture of lettuce types. He ate it all so it must have been good. Service was excellent. Great stop!

Yelp
Great food! Highly recommend the avocado toast and sweet potato tots. Also, their lattes are amazing!

Yelp
Came here early Monday and they seem to be pretty busy at around 10-11! Plenty of seatings, the staff are always friendly and went above and beyond to get us a private corner area with car seat cradle which was so nice and accommodating! The portions here are really big. I think you can share one plate and of course I had to get the pop tart. It always comes fresh and super hot!

Yelp
I moved to Lincoln in October 2022 and had not took the opportunity to try Good Evans. I was very impressed. Great amount of menu options and clean well laid out seating area. Service was prompted and my server checked on me frequently without being annoying. I had the GE Omelet, tots, and sourdough toast. So dang good. The omelet had the perfect ratio of meats to veggies inside. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Finally tried Good Evan's and I was pleased. If I haven't tried it at a breakfast place, chicken fried steak is always my go to. This one did not disappoint as it's actually panko/hand breaded, it was nice and crispy. It was a pretty sizable portion, and the hash browns came served crispy, which I prefer. They were packed on a Saturday for Brunch, which tells you it's a popular spot but had a good system for seating and getting people served efficiently. Food came out quick. Service was speedy but fine. Our server gave us coffee to go. Next time I want to try an omelet.

Yelp
Love this place! Every time I am in Lincoln, I will come here for breakfast! Even though we get the same thing each time, the food is always amazing! I think it's a family business with multiple locations but this one is my favorite! Everyone is so nice and eager to help the never-ending crowds of diners. Good Evans is a MUST!!! A little birdie told me they may be opening up another in West Omaha!

Yelp
Very good food and flavorful food. Lovely staff. Not very loud. An overall great brunch experience.

Yelp
Best breakfast in Lincoln. Hands down. I can't speak for their lunch because I can never pull myself from the breakfast menu. The Nebraska Bene is easily the most delicious thing I've eaten on their menu. And the sweet potato pancake will change your life and ruin all other pancakes for you. Our server was AMAZING. I regret not catching her name!

Yelp
We were traveling and spent several days in Lincoln. We tried this restaurant and continued to eat breakfast throughout the stay. The food was excellent, came out hot and cooked to order. Wait staff were professional and pleasant and checked for needs.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the portion was reasonable for the price! It took us a while to get seated on a Sunday but the wait was worth it. Our waitress was super nice, took a while for the food to be done too but it tasted good so we didn't really bothered. The NE bene was top notch!! Creamy, a little sour from balsamic and well balanced. The chicken fried steak was also good and well seasoned. The avocado toast is okay and so was the shrimp and grits. The shrimp and grits is a little too cheesy for our taste bud but its seasoning was also good. I like their decorations inside a lot also! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Bev C.

Yelp
Busy place, now I know why! The service was friendly and attentive. Server was knowledgeable. Group of 5 for lunch and the food came out piping hot and fresh! I had the shrimp and grits. Delicious, although, the red-eye gravy wasn't what I have had before. It was more of a broth. A tasty broth that paired well with the dish. Plenty for my dinner too. Pleased overall and will try again!

Yelp
We've been into Good Evans several times, and we've never had a bad experience or meal. It's definitely one of my favorite places to grab breakfast or brunch in Lincoln! The last time we came in was on my daughter's birthday, our food and server were so fast that we were in and out of there in about 40 minutes. The portions are also extremely generous. My favorite thing to order on the menu is the sweet potato pancakes. They are absolutely delicious, but I can only eat half of them and I walk away stuffed.

Yelp
We have been on a quest to find the best chicken fried steak in a restaurant for about 10 years. This chicken fried steak is truly hand breaded with panko bread crumbs and pepper, it is perfect. No over seasoning, and let's talk about gravy. WOW!! Also, top notch sausage gravy. We also had a puff pastry pie thing. Missed the photo op, because 1/2 of it was already eaten. So gooooood. Now let's talk about service. Excellent. When we complimented on the food the waitress immediately share the kudos and the manager came over to thank us. Top notch! We highly recommend Good Evans in Lincoln. Imagine my surprise when I realized that I had eaten at the one in Kearney. Also amazing! Check it out if your in Lincoln...or traveling down I-80.

Yelp
UPDATE! EAT IN IF YOU CAN, as opposed to carry out. My original review was four stars, it was very good already... but that was for takeout. Today, we ate in and it was really excellent food! I had a garden omelet with greens and hash browns. My dad had the chicken fried steak and inhaled it! The freshness jumps off the plate, which you don't really get with carry out. Service is good, atmosphere is very good - call it "upscale diner vibes." Again, it was already good food but having it just that much more fresh and experiencing the atmosphere definitely kicks it up a notch.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast. Parking large enough for RV. They have a nice selection of coffee drinks as well. Needed a side of gravy. Gravy sooooo good!

Yelp
The menu here? Oh my! It's so hard to pick what to have! I must have spent a good 10 minutes on three different locations for days before going here. Trying to decide what to get, And it was all useless. Too many good options! I got the Persea Omelette, but they were put of Green Chile. Had spinach instead. The omelette was amazing! So big and so fresh! It was actually steaming when I cut into it. Very much loaded with chicken and cheese and the spinach and everything. The house made salsa.. So freaking good! It was kind of spicy and went amazingly well with the omelette. I asked for an English muffin on the side and it never came. Had to ask for it and then it came - toasted with the butter and everything. I like my butter on the side so had to get that replaced. I also got the strawberry walnut salad - no walnuts, only almonds. They forgot to put the almonds on there, So I had to ask for that part separately as well. My fiance also got the same salad (everything on) and his came just right. The dressing.. Bacon Vinaigrette.. just beautiful! It really paired so well with the fresh strawberries and the blue cheese. Quite some big pieces of strawberries in there which was good but there was also a lot of blue cheese in big crumbles. This got a little too hard to have because of the flavor came out too strong. We both removed some blue cheese on the side. Overall really amazing salad though. Fiancé also got the Turkey Apple Sandwich. This one was loaded! A very generous amount of the turkey breast as well as bacon and melted cheese and everything was on point. There weren't any greens in the sandwich and We both tend to find sandwiches without greens too heavy on the meat, but this one was perfect! You really didn't feel too much meat in there. Just spot on. We also got a side of sweet tots - These look really pretty. I was expecting them to be crispy but they were more on the softer side. Also very very oily so I don't think we would want them again.

Maria M.

Yelp
Food is amazing! The Mexican power bowl had many unique flavor profiles but everything mixed together so well. A delicious, filling meal. The only bad part about this restaurant is that it's always super busy.

Pearson M.

Yelp
This is the best place to dine at Their biscuits and gravy are to die for and the Benedict's are soooooo goooooodd the pancakes are the best as well!! the servers are fast and they are so helpful!!!! the design of the place is very greenery looking and it is just super cute I think this is top 3 on my list!!

Yelp
Gathered here with three newer friends one last time before leaving Nebraska for awhile. The restaurant looked really cool and clean. We went here off of a referral from a place I do business with. The waitress we had was really nice and gave us great service! I had the chicken fried steak with gravy, 2 eggs over medium, and hashbrowns as I smothered it all with Cholula sauce to give it some spice! Best chicken fried steak I ever had!!! Definitely a go to when in Lincoln, highly recommend !!!

Yelp
Looking for a good breakfast place while in Omaha. Good Evan's was nearby with good Yelp reviews so our group of four tried it out. We were pleasantly surprised by the design and ambiance of the restaurant. We were seated immediately. Our server was super friendly and attentive. We ordered from their extensive breakfast menu. The food came out hot and fresh. Everything was delicious. The portions were huge so we each had leftovers for later. We were all impressed. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This is the best spot in Lincoln! I come here all the time, but today tried the avocado toast and some fresh fruit. Was SO good!!! Way better than I thought. So fresh and delicious. Can't wait to go again. Service was great and food came out really fast. Great place!!

Yelp
This place is so good. Atmosphere is nice. Wait time was decent. The homemade strawberry poptart was the best of anywhere I have had. The pancakes were delicious. Basic egg breakfast was really good with great hash browns.
google avatar

Don M.

Yelp
I have been there four times now since I "discovered" Good Evans. I ordered a breakfast meal each time. I have yet to be disappointed in the food, or the service. Biscuits and gravy were a bit congealed by the time they got to me but the taste was fine. Last time I was there, the waitress dropped a piece of bacon off of my plate. It was immediately replaced by a fresh piece but was a little disappointed I was not offered the piece that fell. (5 second rule.) :) Kidding. Excellent place and looking forward to my next trip.
google avatar

Yelp
My sister-in-law brought me here a couple of times for breakfast and it was amazing. The Acapulco Benedict is a unique spin on two breakfast traditions: Benedict and Chorizo sausage, brought together in one delicious offering. I would definitely recommend it! The pancakes are fluffy and delicious also. The service was always friendly and spot on. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My wife and I came in on a Saturday for breakfast and were added to the waitlist due to the many people wanting to eat here. We patiently waited and came back inside when our table was ready. We were uncomfortably sat at a table in the center of the restaurant, like a bowl of fruit on a dining table. There was a booth just a few feet away that was also available and much more desirable. No one had been sat there as it was just cleaned, and it sat the same amount of people as our table. We politely asked to be moved to the booth but were refused since "there was a larger party being sat there", even though the number of people that each table could hold were the same at both. We peacefully exited and went to another restaurant. We were sarcastically told to have a nice day on the way out, which sealed the deal for us. We were more valued when we were leaving than when we wanted something to eat. No need to patron a business where your comfortability and money are not valued. We will not return to this establishment in the future.

Yelp
This is our must-eat stop in Lincoln. We've lived here for almost 2 years and this us the place we take all our friends and visitors. Our family has tried a variety of menu items and never been disappointed once. We absolutely love Good Evans!
google avatar

Danielle S.

Yelp
This place hit the spot if your wanting to do a late brunch or lunch Good Evans has a pretty good size, meun, and I can't wait to travel back and try more; I enjoyed the Southern omelet. Very tasty came with tots and white bread. For drink, I had NE plan mule. Also weird to say, but they had a really pretty ladies restroom!

Rebecca B.

Yelp
So good. We've been here several times and bring family who travel in for Husker games. Definitely fans of the pop tarts and bene's. Wish they took reservations!

Philip W.

Yelp
Hands down best breakfast or lunch spot in Lincoln. High quality food and good service. Hard to get in at peak times, but they move people through pretty efficiently.

Yelp
I've been here a few times now, and there's much to appreciate. The hot tea is a nice offering, I take mine with cream, it's delicious. The cheese grits are what keep me coming back. Being able to substitute the GF pancake for bread you can't eat is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who must eat GF. Usually you have to swap out for a subpar product and pay more for it in the process. This is not that type of substitution, the pancake is fluffy and delicious. Well done there, that pancake, the grits and tea are appealing enough to keep me coming back occasionally even if I never order anything different. However, I would like to order something different now. The basic breakfast is just that, pretty basic. The eggs and hash browns weren't seasoned that I could tell. And despite having been there at least three times, I've only ever been able to order breakfast. There's no GF bread substitute for me to try a sandwich for lunch. I've asked and getting that as an option doesn't seem to be a priority for anyone there. So, until that happens, I suppose I'll continue only going every 6-8 months (despite moving much closer and it being extremely convenient for me now), only when I get the craving for breakfast food, cheese grits and a pancake. Maybe someday they'll throw the GF community a bone with some lunch and sandwich options. Most other places in town, Honest Abe's, HF Crave, The Eatery, etc. all have GF bread or burger bun substitutions, even fast food chains, like Firehouse Subs has a GF sub, it can be done well, I guess it just depends on how welcoming you want to be to a big segment of your clientele.

Mark A.

Yelp
This is the second time that I have eaten there and the food is fantastic! Our server was great as well and she didn't constantly check in on us. I would give this five out of five stars if it wasn't for the loud noise from the patrons. This is a very loud restaurant when they are busy.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
I don't like traditional breakfast foods beyond sandwiches outside of a random craving here and there. But...pump myself up for 3 months on this 14 state food trip and tell myself it's dessert for breakfast and you have a gem of an experience! Sweet potato pancakes with candied pecans, caramel sauce, and whipped butter. Pancakes were airy. Pecans delicious. Oddly tame on the sweetness despite the caramel sauce. Loved it!
google avatar

Terrell H.

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurants in Lincoln and to be honest the ONLY restaurant that haa the best breakfast that I've ever had. The pumpkin pancakes are 5 star as well as the customer service. Our server Ashlynn was very good at her job and the manager was very friendly checking on our dining experience yesterday morning. Good Evans deserves a visit from Food Network
google avatar

Yelp
Great place for breakfast and or lunch. Fast in and out if you want that or sit and talk. Keep in mind they close at 2:00pm

Ann F.

Yelp
Love the hash browns! Hand breaded chicken fried steak is big and amazing!Everything is great! Very good Bloody Mary!

Yelp
The food was spectacular and reheated well, and the service was wonderful. It was a good atmosphere and the staff was very willing to help provide what we asked for.

Yelp
there is a variety of options in food, especially for those who are vegetarian. the place was very busy upon arrival, but it didn't take long to be seated and served. from what i recall the server was kind and didn't check in too many times. the ambiance of the restaurant feels very modern brunch core, but it's cute nonetheless
