Let me say...it really is Good Food! Finally made it here after years of trying. Such a nice, cozy atmosphere.weekend after the snow/ice week and everyone seems to be out. Definitely recommend making reservations. Nice heated patio, but I loved the inside eclectic decor. Really nice bar area too. Great service, food came out pretty on point too. Lots to chose from, small plates, entrees, have to say entrees are more like small plates size. Definitely high end prices on drinks. Some interesting cocktails I liked my Good F. O. Rm drink, bourbon, fig-orange rosemary. Nice smooth drink. The winter mule was nice and cinnamon spiced.
First round of food....truffle fries, a must, nice not skinny fries, lots of truffle flavor, nice heaping of Parmesan. This was the first thing I've wanted to order here . Then the smoky beets, great, creme fraiche, baby greens, nice citrus dressing. The Brussels sprouts red pepper ricotta on the base, mint and red onion, interesting combination, stir it all up, and you get a nice hit of everything.
So far everything was great.
Round 2... Tagliolini, pasta, with black pepper and Romano cheese, basic yet full of flavor , nice firm pasta. They were out of the Mahi which we really wanted. So went with the Korean beef, with a base of crispy rice, scallions, nice tender beef, great flavor. Larry's buns, bao buns stuffed with pork belly, hoisin, carrot and daikon. Buns were nice and soft. Nice pork belly. Wish they were bigger!
Dessert....we went all out, Panna cotta, not my thing but everyone loved it, described as refreshing.
The sticky toffee pudding, not really how it's supposed to be but was good, had banana in it which was different. Nice candied pecan ice cream, nice sauce. But if your expecting British style, it is not! The chocolate pots de creme, this was amazingly sinful. Coffee, dulce de leche, and a wonderful pistachio shortbread. So rich, creamy, Bursts of coffee and caramel in each bite. The bottom was scraped out of this one. By far the best. Must get this if you go!
Full but those dessert cocktails were calling. Had a drunken chai and chocolate covered orange. Drunken chai, was milky, with Kahlua, rumchata, chai and espresso. Not as much chai taste as I'd hoped. The chocolate orange on the other hand was like eating a Terrys chocolate orange in liquid form. Amazingly good, chocolate edged glass, Cointreau, bourbon, and oat milk. This was dessert in a glass. Delicious.
Great experience, fun night out. Just loved the setting.
