Good Gai's on Oakdale

This might be the best spot for Karaage chicken in SF! You get so much for what you pay for, and the dipping sauces that came with the chicken were so good. Their butter chicken was amazing too. It was a great place for a quick bit to eat for lunch. Service is quick and the food is hot and ready! They have some pretty great options on their menu and plenty of outdoor covered seating.

If you love fried chicken like I do over rice, you need to get this! Juicy, tender pieces of fried chicken over rice and some savory sauce to mix with it! My first time eating something from Good Gais and I will order again!

Tasty option for Southeast Asian style chicken off Bayshore Blvd. Crispy gai: flavorfully crisp chicken served with comforting schmaltz rice and two spicy sauce accompaniments (red curry, tamarind chilli).

Have enjoyed the chicken rice bowl many times over the years, and it is very consistent. I typically go through every drop of their kmg sauce, which comes with the dish automatically, but consider ordering extra. Must get extra side of gai lan cause it's that good.

I've only gotten them from Hawker Alley in FiDi. I'm sure this real location would be better. I think they have the best chicken rice so far in SF. Rooster & Rice is good, but Good Gai's rice is so much more flavourful. Not only that, their chicken soup is tasty. Feels like there's no salt, just pure chicken soup. Comparing with Rooster & Rice's soup that is, you definitely taste a lot of saltiness in theirs. Overall, I like Good Gai's way more than Rooster & Rice. It's just unfortunate that they don't really do delivery. Like, they do on Uber Eats / DoorDash, but the menu is so limited. If you were to go there yourself, you can get a lot more combination and/or special requests like half amount of rice, no rice just more veggies, etc.

Thank God this place is here!! Delicious food!! Take out window is fast, friendly, and genius. This is also home of The Chairman....incredible flavors.

Uhhhhh... why is this so good? Like no for reals, why is this so good. Portion size, if you have self restraint, would be a decent 2 portions. Or, you can be a fatty like me, and house the whole bowl. No shortness of garlic, ginger scallion sauce is on point and whatever the fudge that green spicy sauce is and the sauce over the vegetables, MMMMMMM! Most importantly all pieces are manageable and no dinosaur pieces. My new go to spot and man I think it's terminal addiction. Support your local business. GOOD GAI'S!!!!!!

This place is a must try. The Karaage Chicken strips with fries are my favorite go to for lunch. Consistently great flavor with delicious spicy aioli sauce.
