"Good Life Cafe has been around for more than 20 years, and it’s perfect when you’re looking to walk in and have a great breakfast with lots of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options for under $20. Go for the Bodie Omelet, which is stuffed with bacon, mushrooms, onions, and green chile, or the chicken florentine. On warmer days, you should sit on the patio and do some people-watching. Because this place is tucked into a nondescript strip mall, it almost feels like a well-kept secret among locals, with the bonus of friendly and attentive service." - Danielle Bauter

Absolutely loved this place! Their omelette is hands-down the best I’ve had—fluffy, flavorful, and packed with fresh ingredients. The burgers are juicy, perfectly seasoned, and paired with crispy golden fries that are hard to resist. I also loved their twist of adding homemade sauces and creative toppings. Friendly staff, quick service, and a cozy vibe make it a new favorite. If you are mammoth lakes and looking for a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner - Good Life Cafe could be your stop. 5 stars well deserved!

Google
This is a great place to eat in Mammoth Lakes. I generally have breakfast there and get 2 eggs, 2 bacon, and crispy hash browns. If you want water you have to ask for it.

The food was outstanding! We enjoyed a lot eating every single dish!

Google
A decent cafe to grab a quick breakfast in Mammoth Lakes. We ordered Southwest Scramble & Eggs Florentine, among these two I would definitely rate the Eggs Florentine a hight number than the scramble. The Eggs Florentine with two poaches eggs on the english muffin was amazing. The sauce on it was rich and yummy in taste. The crispy crunchy muffin at the bottom of poached eggs and the delicious flavors of the sauces along with the perfectly cooked poaches eggs was a perfect combination. I would try this dish if at good life cafe. The Southwest Scramble was okay , and had a lot better than this other cafes. The drawback was that the scramble was a little bit on the drier side , topping of the scramble with some sauce would definitely make it more good. The hash-brown on the side of the scramble was not great either. The atmosphere up this place was a little bit disturbed when we visited as there was a customer who was having an argument with the manager and it really gave a very negative vibe to this place, which made me a little bit hesitant if or not to visit this place. However , I tried to be positive and visited this place looking at over 1000 reviews with a rating of 4.3 , which other cafes or breakfast places lacked in Mammoth.

Google
Loved this breakfast so much that we visited on back to back days during our stay in old Mammoth. Service was quick. All breakfast dishes came in good portions. Fruit was served fresh.

Google
Good food. Service maybe slow during peak hours but the food compensates for it.

Google
Had brunch here after checking out the Google reviews. Unfortunately, the experience was mixed. The burrito was disappointing and had an unpleasant odor—definitely not worth the $17 price tag. The chicken quesadilla was very bland, just okay at best. On the positive side, the French toast and scrambled eggs were quite good, so it seems like breakfast items (like omelets) might be their strong suit, but I wouldn’t recommend it for lunch. Service was lacking—especially the person at the register (wearing glasses), who was unapproachable and didn’t ask if we needed anything. We were considering ordering dessert but changed our minds. Prices are on the higher side ($$$).

Google
Mediocre at best. Spent $90 for family of 5. Had the veggie burrito which wasn’t even hot, the veggie sandwich on “sourdough” with no sauce or anything in it. Kids grilled cheese- cheese wasn’t even melted.. not worth the money

Yelp
Breakfast was prompt and delicious, with excellent and attentive service. Despite the ongoing construction, the quality of the food and service exceeded our expectations, making it a great stop on our way home.

Yelp
Busy lil breakfast/lunch spot nestled in a strip mall that is currently undergoing renovations. Quickly seated, it was cramped inside but not terribly so where we had any issues getting in and out of our table. Service was pretty good for as busy as it was. Our food also came out pretty quickly. As for the food, it was pricey for the portion size and mediocre in quality/taste. I ordered the vegan scramble which actually had no egg substitutes, just sauteed veggies and came with corn tortillas. The entree virtually had no flavor and left me hungry still. My friends seemed to enjoy their entrees but didn't compliment them.

Yelp
We have been here several times we frequent Mammoth Lakes and this last visit on 7/18 was our last time. We asked to sit outside, there was one other family already there before we arrived. So we figured service wouldn't take so long. We were wrong, we sat for 20 mins before anyone asked for our orders. 3 tables came after us- like way after us and were immediately asked what they'd like to order. Sandra finally comes over and asks for our order. She has an attitude, she's rude to my children " eggs!" She's asking how they want their eggs and assumed my children understand what she means. I answer for them. She looks over at me with her side eye. I'm tired and hungry so I don't let her behavior ruin our morning. So after waiting another 20 mins for our food- while we watch everyone who came after us get their food. We ask if we can be moved inside. Our backs are hot and there's a trash truck collecting trash. It smells disgusting. My husband goes to the restroom and notices the inside is empty. So he asks if we can move inside. The other hostess says she has to ask permission to Sandra since she already took or order. Usually I understand the reasoning behind not being able to be moved but when there's ONE server, a small place, and an empty eating area. What's the big deal? So here's comes Sandra, we had to ask her. She with attitude tells me- no, you guys were told the sun would hit you. So my husband said what's the big deal- your indoor area is empty and I've changed my mind. She says " I heard her (the hostess) tell you you'd be in the sun! It doesn't matter to me. I don't care. But I heard her tell you that!" So my husband asks well if you don't care why are you saying no? She then tells us we have to ask the hostess if we can move after the hostess told us to Ask our server Sandra. So we let her know we'd like to cancel our orders. We had enough of the back and forth with her. Especially after we noticed that everyone who was seated WAY after us was already eating. She then changed her tune and says whatever I don't care you guys can move. We move ourselves, we reluctantly stay. Our food comes out 15 mins later while the cooks come out to look at us lol. We don't care, again I'm not going to allow these miserable people to ruin my morning while on vacation. We eat our food, now after she'd ignored us the entire time she is overly nice and checking on us after she's called out. We eat our food as fast as we can and we ask for the check. My husband doesn't tip her because we feel she doesn't deserve a tip, we did not like the service. I understand some people tip no matter what because it's the "right" thing to do. We don't. We tip very well, but when you loudly and disrespectfully speak to your customers with attitude in front of several other customers, you shouldn't expect one. Bad service, bad attitude and zero customer service doesn't deserve a tip. My 16 year son stays back to use the restroom while we load the other kids into the car. When he comes out and tells us Sandra stopped him while he was coming out of the restroom and asked him why she wasn't tipped. I was absolutely appalled. We parked right in front, you can see us out the door, why she didn't come and voice her complaint with the adults in the party is beyond me. She's lucky I was on vacation and truly so angry that I decided to not go back into the restaurant and let her know how I felt. Some people are not worth it and are truly miserable people. Sandra is one of them. I'm sorry she doesn't like her job. Sorry she doesn't seem to like big families showing up. There's 6 of us. She was super kind to the light skinned guests maybe our hair was too dark for her liking. Either way. We will no longer visit one of our favorite breakfasts places in Mammoth, it's changed and not the same it was before. We will happily go down the street to The Warming Hut where they have better attitudes, better customer service, better food and they don't harass their minor aged guest.

Ankita G.

Yelp
Met with the most rude attendant ever. He just wouldn't get us seated, even though I had older parents with me. For some reason he thought cleaning 2 tables in an empty restaurant was more important than getting us seated. Eventually we found our selves a table after asking him. For 5+ minutes no one came to offer us water while he was serving guests who arrived after us. I have no idea what we did to offend him to get such bad treatment. It was very insulting. We just left while he kept purposely ignoring us.

Tony C.

Yelp
Average restaurant but 1 extra star for fair price. It's a welcoming place for both visitors and locals. I was in bit of a rush, with Tesla charging across the street, and was able to finish the meal with time to spare.

Alisa G.

Yelp
Always wonderful and welcoming Good Life Cafe never disappoints. For the freshest food in Mammoth head here! Seriously, best breakfast in town, but stopped in for lunch today knowing these folks don't mess around when you want some wholesome veggies in your life. They never skimp on the avocado like most places. Lots of vegetarian options and you can taste the love in everything they serve up! Thanks GLC

Tom G.

Yelp
We had a really great breakfast and our server was a very nice guy. The vibe inside is good and the service was fast. The Arturo's Rancheros was delicious!

Ann R.

Yelp
Quick and friendly service, good food. We can back again the next day for breakfast! The building is under construction, but the cafe is open anyway!

Dipanwita R.

Yelp
Our first stop at Mammoth Lakes. We were hit by a gush of cold wind as soon as we stepped out of the car at about 1 pm!! I was so happy to be in the warmth of this cafe. It was just freezing outside. My friends already had a table and I was joining in. The restaurant has a very warm & cozy ambiance. We ordered and I was so happy to see a warm plate of food without a very long wait. We were quite tired from the very long wait. There is self-service station where you can get all your condiments. The food was was okay. I ordered an eggs benedict and I was served one egg which was not runny. I have never received a portion of eggs benedict with one egg lol! It's always 2. I did like the convenience of this cafe since it was very close to our hotel but overall it was an okay experience.

Karina G.

Yelp
Breakfast here is absolutely great! Lots of options to choose from. Lunch food is okay, but breakfast is a perfect time to come. It's usually pretty busy but the restaurant is big enough to accommodate quite a few groups in. The service has been quick and friendly. Been here about 4 times now and I make sure I come at least once a trip.

Thomas N.

Yelp
Food and service are always great. We visit every time we are in Mammoth. This has been a go to spot for us for several years. The ambiance is great has the mountain diner vibes that hit all year round. Can't wait to go back.

Heather S.

Yelp
What a wonderful breakfast spot. Clean, lots of options for different dietary needs & preferences and very friendly service. We were in town for a week for a ski trip and ate here on a day we took off from the slopes. I had the vegan hash and my favorite part is that the hash not only had shredded potatoes but shredded veggies mixed in too. Our waitress was very sweet and we talked about our shared love of beaded earrings while she topped off our coffee. Our cups were never empty! Serving size was quite large, both myself and my husband brought half of our food back to the condo and had it for breakfast the next morning. Wish we had more time to go again but we will be back in Mammoth in June for a family trip and hoping to hit this spot up again.

Beth N.

Yelp
Every year when in Mammoth we have breakfast at this cute little diner and we are always happy! The food seems to get better every year. It's usually pretty crowded, but we got right in on a Friday morning. I had an omelets with pork and Verde salsa, amazing. Sorry, the picture is after I had been eating for a while..

Akemi W.

Yelp
I got breakfast here one morning and it was pretty good! Mostly typical diner fare with the toast and hash browns, but I was very impressed by the veggies in my omelette. I added spinach and mushroom to a plain cheese omelette and there was a ton in there. Really surprised and pleased by that! The toast and hash browns were nothing to write home about either way. Came back for lunch a few days later and was completely disappointed. I got a tuna melt with zucchini. The zucchini sticks got raves from other reviewers, but I didn't think they were anything special. Just bland and unexciting, But the tuna melt was the big disappointment. It was really just a tuna sandwich and cheese on toast. The tuna was cold and the cheese was completely unmelted. It was actually impressive that they managed to get the outside of the bread that cooked without any heat making it in. But it was definitely not the warm deliciousness I was looking for!

Johnson T.

Yelp
Me and my wife went in for a late lunch, we were the only customer, ordered turkey plate for my wife, also a bowl of black bean included, but the bowl of bean was tasteless, so we asked the server about the issue, she came back and said the kitchen was aware of this now but did not offer any resolution, we feel this is not the right way to manage your business.

Cynthia P.

Yelp
Good burger salad combo I got the classic on wheat bread, was not too heavy on the seasoning, nice staff & nice outdoor patio.

Darren L.

Yelp
Great breakfast Cafe. We ordered the Machaca Rancheros and the Chile Verde Breakfast Burrito. Machaca Rancheros was made with scrambled eggs the shredded beef. Corn tortilla was on the bottom soaking up all the juicy flavors. It was served with refried beans which were very tasty. Overall, the dish was excellent. The Chili Verde was very flavorful. The green sauce had the proper amount of tomatilla. The pork was super tender. This dish was excellentand I would order this again.

Lea F.

Yelp
Food was good but unfortunately service was not. We were still eating and she had us pay. Not only that but as we finished our food, she came back and rushed us out. They had a ton of empty tables and it wasn't busy at all. Boo on you Sandra C, not a good life place to eat after all

Robin R.

Yelp
Good life what a joke! Waiting for them to open for breakfast and asking if we could be sat outside (which was COMPLETELY set up and ready to go for service) I was told they weren't sitting outside right now because I asked to be seated with our service dog! I get it they have notices EVERYWHERE that they are anti-dog, no pets, no emotional support animals, no small dogs but I presented with having an ACTUAL service dog and opted to sit outside since they were so negative apparently about having animals anywhere near they're establishment. Right as we were leaving they seated a family outside! So thanks for LYING to my face and denying access to LEGITIMATE service dogs like my husband's! I do NOT recommend this place with or without a service animal!

Kathy L.

Yelp
I've been coming to Mammoth for many years and I can't believe I've never been to Good Life Cafe. I guess I always thought it was strictly a breakfast place. Heard a radio spot on our way up that said they serve lunch and dinner too, so decided to give it a go for dinner. I'm so happy to discover this place! It's a decent size restaurant so would be suitable for groups. Lots of variety on the menu too. I had the vegetable stir fry over brown rice and added some chicken. It was a lot of food, so leftovers actually made 2 meals for me! It was super tasty and very fresh veggies! Definitely putting this place on our list of places to eat from now on. There was a stuffed pork chop with mushrooms/feta/spinach that I also want to try. And our server was wonderful too! Highly recommend!

Lynette C.

Yelp
Pancakes were delicious! My husband had eggs and bacon and he said it was good. Server was attentive but could have been more friendly.

Yuliya K.

Yelp
Food is at a lower side of average. There are many better places in Mammoth Lakes.. This place is the only place left in town that uses styrofoam containers and cups - pure poison (not to mention that Mammoth Lakes outlawed use of styrofoam effective 1/1/24)

Rahul P.

Yelp
Good service and vegetarian options. Portion size are very generous. Prices were very reasonable also.

B B.

Yelp
I'll be honest I was a little bit skeptical when we pulled into the parking lot for dinner but this place is a hidden little gem. Food was EXCELLENT, service was GREAT! Definitely would come back.

Cecile A.

Yelp
Amazing traditional American food! Large portions that taste delicious. Friendly service and authentic deco-setting.

Asia B.

Yelp
Great food, friendly staff, cozy cafe! Delicious eggs Benedict and potato's! I'm rarely impressed by breakfast potato's as they're usually just bland and cooked crispy on the outside and raw or lukewarm inside. These were different, seasoned well and absolutely delicious - I actually finished the entire plate instead of leaving them like I normally do and having a few bites. My daughter and her friend both got tuna sandwiches and said they were delicious. Will definitely come back!

Paul S.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast, the food was delicious and the service was great. Location was also convenient to our overnight stay. Paul S.

Jane K.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday brunch and it was fairly busy. Around 10:30 am. I think there were only two servers but everything went well. Food comes out fairly quickly but service was slow at first- we could tell they were really busy. Server was friendly though so it's okay. This place gives mom and pop vibes. Our server was cool, funny and efficient. I had a tuna melt which was very heavy and fulfilling I'm glad I had it with a salad. Also had two sunny side eggs with pancakes! That was delicious I ate the pancakes without syrup! Fast, efficient service, nice place for people to come in

Latef X.

Yelp
Very mediocre veggie burrito. I asked for a breakfast burrito but they gave me a huge wet burrito that was a total mess to eat and the sauce on top was flavorless anyway. They need to add pico de gallo or something flavorful inside and season their veggies better. Not recommended for take out.

Steph H.

Yelp
Maybe my expectations of wait staff and dining experience is too high at this point but not impressed with any part of our experience. I walk in and was greeted with a "what's up?" And I responded with, "there are two of us" and he points me to a table. Sit down and ignored for a solid five plus minutes although we were directly next tot the kitchen and the entire staff walked by us at some point. Our server went to beeline passed us to the kitchen and finally realize we were there. No warm greeting, just what would would you like to drink. I responded with, we are ready. She said ok and I rattled off our drinks and one eggs Benedict we were splitting. She said ok and walked away. Dropped off the drinks as she literally walked by. Same with the food. No "anything else I can get you" nothing. The hashbrowns were RAW and we never saw her again to get decent ones. Then once it was apparent my husband was done, she just dropped the check off. Like wtf??

Tim G.

Yelp
Had a little bit of an odd dinner here. I know they are best known for breakfast and brunch, so perhaps this wasn't the best way to evaluate them. But the staff weren't warm or welcoming at all, as though they wished there weren't any customers so they could leave. There were also a variety of rules posted on the door/window and at the host station, which made it feel like they were leading with negativity. Service wasn't particularly attentive, though not the slowest I've experienced, though the place wasn't very full so it seemed like a lack of enthusiasm or concern on the part of the staff. The food was perfectly fine. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing to get excited about. Overall it was just "fine". We were only visiting for about five days, and this was where we went on the first night. The rest of our time in Mammoth Lakes we opted for other restaurants.

Kaity F.

Yelp
Solid breakfast spot! So many options, and the food was really good. Service was quick but also so "quick" our server didn't even look up from her tablet when she greeted us, no biggie but also really? Kept our coffees and waters full, food came out quick and hot!

Daniel E.

Yelp
Good food and good service. The atmosphere was an old school diner vibe. Enjoyed it and will be back.

Bill T.

Yelp
We have been eating breakfast at Goodlife for many years. Goodlife and warming hut are our go to places for breakfast. My wife and I have been through much of goodlifes breakfast menu and our favs are Nancy's omlet (her) and 1/2 eggs beni with a side cup of chiliverde (me). We love them sooo much we rarely stray. I've had the crab beni, other Omlets, bk burr, monte cristo and nothing compares to our favs. Yesterday we broke up a bike ride with a quick lunch. We shared a chicken breast quesadilla and fried zucchini strips app (1/2 order was huge--for 2). Both were very good--I don't know how they kept the zuccini crisp and the breading so light and not greasy at all (?air fryer?). We will be back often.

Jim D.

Yelp
Just got back from the restaurant and I know this place has mixed reviews but our experience was very good. The service was good and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the pork chop and it was excellent. I was a little apprehensive going here but am glad I did.

Aaron W.

Yelp
Got takeout from this place on our first night in Mammoth after a long travel day. The food is solid and reasonably priced, particularly for a tourist town. We got an appetizer and three entrees. All were pretty large and had lots of good veggies. The teriyaki stir fry in particular was loaded with greens. The chicken picata and pork chop both came with big hunks of meat. The zucchini parmesan is basically fries, but it's zucchini not potato, so less guilt! Online ordering system was down so we had to go place our order in person.

Jeff J.

Yelp
Not sure if covid has wiped out residual human etiquette or just hit this place hard. Been coming here every year since 2018, and this year you get a clear feeling they don't want your business here. Came here on a Mon morning. Place was 1/4 full, soon as we sat down before I even opened the menu male server pushed us to order. I told him to give me a min as I'd like to see the menu first. The result was the staff completely ignoring us for 15 min, after 3 attempts finally waved down a female server and she took our order w bit of an attitude. Very short n devoid of any warmth. As for the food, it's hard to mess up brkfst but I ordered eggs over medium and what I got was raw egg soup- not just watery yolk but egg white as well. And my 9 years old said the pancakes were "very dry". So adios Goodlife, la vida may still be good for you but we certainly no longer get that feeling when we dine here.

Manuel R.

Yelp
Went to Good life cafe with a Large group food was good and Service was fine. 18% tip is automatically added to your bill in groups of 5 or bigger, server was kind enough to remind me that tip is not necessary since it was already add on, personally I feel 18% is reasonable. Went back the next day with my wife and my two children. seated right away but the two parties that arrive after got served their drinks and got their orders taken before we where even asked what we wanted to drink. Food was still good but service was noticeably worse. When bad turn to worst was when it was time to pay, in most dinners they bring you a bill before you pay but waitress came to the table asked if we where ready to pay with out bringing me a bill, I said yes even though it was very obvious my son and daughter we're still working on their food. I gave her my card and she suspiciously asked I could leave a tip or just sign but never fully gave my her handheld i noticed that it gave me 3 tip percentage options and the lowest option started at 25% so i felt like I had to pull it away from her hands to click on custom tip. Very strange 18% is set for large groups but for anything less they suggest 25% tip? No coffee refill after we payed and felt rushed to leave. A bit pricey but it's expected in a tourist town. Only reason I gave it a 2 was for the first experience.

Christine T.

Yelp
Food and service was so good! Chili verde burrito delicious! Will be an annual place to eat when we visit!

David S.

Yelp
The fish tacos are the best ever. You must have the zucchini fries for a great treat. Everything is made from fresh ingredients and you can taste the quality of the meal.

Mark H.

Yelp
We came back a year later, on a Sunday! The Krab Cake Benedict, Eggs Florentine, and hash browns were still great; each meal had a good sauce. We had an Eye Opener with white fish hash browns and two tortillas; the menu suggested that it might be spicy, but it was not. Hash browns were lightly and perfectly seasoned, and not greasy even when we later reheated them. We liked the hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows and not too much sugar, and the Arnold Palmer. Service is still great.

Lauren E.

Yelp
Best Eggs Benedict in town by far. Staff is always kind and helpful! I live here and this is my favorite breakfast spot!

Tasha H.

Yelp
Had a great breakfast here with a group of 5. Arrived at 9a on the weekend and there were plenty of tables available. We were seated inside where the tables were a little more crowded than I would have liked. Service was efficient, and we all enjoyed our food. French toast w 2 eggs - I love that they have this as an option for sweet and savory. The French toast is the right texture and I like the various potato shapes in the hash browns. The eggs were done well. Crab cake Benedict - be aware that the crab cake replaces the English muffin, so there is no bread factor in this dish. The crab cakes are just okay, but the eggs were poached really well.

Gusorion 8.

Yelp
Very welcoming warm place, great food and the customer service is an A+. The chili verde burrito is delicious! Highly recommend this place

Jenn C.

Yelp
I don't get the ratings here. Food was ok and nothing special. Service was not great and server was rude and rushed us thru dining. We got our food and took a few bites and another waiter set our bill on the table and quickly walked away. Very strange. We felt rushed in eating. Our server actually picked up my plate, while I was still eating as I stopped to take a sip of my drink. I had to tell them I was not finished. There was no other parties waiting and five open table. No reason to rush us out. Guess they should call this Rushed Life Cafe.

Sherryl H.

Yelp
Great breakfast option! Plenty of seating indoors and out with excellent service. Food was very good.

Gail O.

Yelp
Don't order the turkey eggs Benedict, the turkey slices were so dry I couldn't even eat it, AND the didn't have the usual eggs Benedict sauce over it. The eggs were overcooked and chalky. The sausages were cold. Just not a good breakfast experience at all.

Kaytee A.

Yelp
I am a diabetic and have a diabetic service animal. I was denied service and told I was unable to come in the restaurant with him unless I was blind or deaf. Absolutely unacceptable and against the law. I will be filing an ADA compliance report later today against this business.

Ceidy S.

Yelp
Racist Host, they were mean to us, they helped people that got there after us first, bad service, good food but bad customer service.
