When the sun is beaming in Portland, it seems like the right choice to search out the best outdoor seating for lunch. We found it at GNP. Several outside tables grab the afternoon sun perfectly. There's also plenty of seating inside the pizzeria and along the bar.
They've got pizza, garlic bread, garlic knots, calzones, soups of the day, salads, lasagna, desserts, full liquor bar, wine, beers galore, kombucha... on and on. They've also got bev specials like boozy hot chocolates, hot toddy's, spiced ciders and Paloma's.
The bartender was super nice, and welcoming. Our pizza by the slice was warmed/crisped up quickly. Like some other yelpers noted, I did notice a huge amount of crust on my slice. All you need to do is ask for a small side of marinara and dip it in there for your last few bites... such good crispy yet chewy dough, don't waste the crust!
Pro tip: you can also use your crust to mop up every drop of any leftover salad dressing on your plate, the bleu cheese dressing on our Wedge was excellent. I almost always complain about salad dressings but this one was creamy, salty, homemade, full of tender bits of bleu cheese and fresh herbs -- whoa.
Take away: A great place to soak up the sun, grab a beer and a bite. Will be back when we're in the neighborhood :)
