I visited with a friend the other day. First of all, the pizza is freaking delicious. Second, the staff are lovely. There's a chap that looks like Vincent Gallo. Totally adorable, but I digress. Third, it's truly the kinda place you love to frequent because they take the time to know you. I suppose that's why they are called GOOD Neighbour, eh? ;) Definitely check them out but leave a space for me.

Google
Very chill atmosphere, low lighting with a sit down bar inside and a self serve water station. Not a sit down a sit down and order type of place, you order when you walk in and they give you a number then you sit wherever you please. The food is delicious and tastes like it's made with fresh ingredients. The pizza crust is kinda thin, perfectly crispy and not oily so I really enjoyed it. They also offer a gluten free crust which we ordered for my mother in law, which is very thin and crispy (like most gluten free pizzas). It wasn't her most favorite crust but she enjoyed the pesto sauce and toppings on the pizza.

Google
Good Neighbor Pizzeria is my new favorite spot. The vibe, pizza and staff staff are crushin' it. Will be coming back many many times. Arcade games, and low light, this is the place to be.

Just a short walk from my daughters house. The second time we have eaten here while in town from Louisiana. Both times enjoyed the pizza!! We will be back!! Great pizza!!

Google
Service, ambiance, prices are great! Pizza is good—not amazing, but good. Def worth the price. I’ve had it multiple times, and keep coming back. 😋

Google
Good pizza, however when ordering by the slice, it’s served slightly warmer than cold. So many other places here in Portland serve a better pizza of this style for the same price. If I was reviewing solely based on their parmesan and red pepper shakers, they’d get five stars since they dispense at an appropriate rate.

Refuge in the Hood. Great pizza. Nice people run and patronize this place at the corner of Dekum and 8th Avenue in the "Dekum Triangle." They've been here a while. Midnight Ramblers played Easter Sunday 2022. So much fun and the loaded baked potato was awesome. Great band, great food and drink in NE PDX. Check it out. Two thumbs up! 👍

Google
Awesome pizza. Traditional options along with unique topping combos. It's one of our regular stops when we're in town

Yelp
Excellent pizza. Ordered via UE on a busy Saturday night and was delivered hot and early. I had the meatball w carm. onions pizza and it was excellent. Yay for homemade meatballs just for pizzas. That's an east coast pizza thing and so I was pumped to find out they take pride in their pizza. Crust was top tier, crispy and still chewy. Packaged well and presented with care, whomever packed up orders this Saturday night is a rock star. It's appreciated. Will dine in next time for sure!

Yelp
Absolutely great food and great service - their pepperoni pizza is a go to of mine and their wedge salad is really good too. Great local spot to check out

Yelp
When the sun is beaming in Portland, it seems like the right choice to search out the best outdoor seating for lunch. We found it at GNP. Several outside tables grab the afternoon sun perfectly. There's also plenty of seating inside the pizzeria and along the bar. They've got pizza, garlic bread, garlic knots, calzones, soups of the day, salads, lasagna, desserts, full liquor bar, wine, beers galore, kombucha... on and on. They've also got bev specials like boozy hot chocolates, hot toddy's, spiced ciders and Paloma's. The bartender was super nice, and welcoming. Our pizza by the slice was warmed/crisped up quickly. Like some other yelpers noted, I did notice a huge amount of crust on my slice. All you need to do is ask for a small side of marinara and dip it in there for your last few bites... such good crispy yet chewy dough, don't waste the crust! Pro tip: you can also use your crust to mop up every drop of any leftover salad dressing on your plate, the bleu cheese dressing on our Wedge was excellent. I almost always complain about salad dressings but this one was creamy, salty, homemade, full of tender bits of bleu cheese and fresh herbs -- whoa. Take away: A great place to soak up the sun, grab a beer and a bite. Will be back when we're in the neighborhood :)

Yelp
I like the beers and pizza and music is good but some people think Pppipppap is Liberty and that's the only reason I won't be going back until later this evening

Eleanor Elizabeth V.

Yelp
Pizza was bland, boring and not worth $40 bucks! Even with adding pesto it was awful! So bad I didn't even complain because I would not want another, even for free.

Yelp
This place is right on a corner with other restaurants around. I was disappointed at the pizza place down the road. So decided to give this place a shot. Walked in and was instantly greeted by the guy behind the counter. I asked a couple questions about the pizza and the pepperoni. We was very informative. Normally I am a cheese slice lady but today I had a pepperoni. $4.25 a slice normally(10/21/23) Today they were on special because they were smaller slices. Which was good to know! The sauce was pretty average for pizza sauce. but the pepperoni didn't miss. They had a nice selection of hot sauces, had a nice Parmesan it didn't seem like the cheap kind you get sometimes. But wasn't shaved Parmesan either. They had other things on their menu. I would recommend for price (under $5.00)

Yelp
I really hate writing a negative review espeacially bc I love having a neighborhood spot to get a quick bite. Everyone here is always nice but my husband and I have both ordered takeout including salads with dressing on the side at least 10 times (both in person and for takeout) and without fail every single time our salads are drenched with dressing. It was almost funny the first couple times but now it's just not worth the frustration. Great pizza though ?

Yelp
Was craving calzone so I called in my order to this neighborhood spot to give it a try. It was ready when i arrived, looks like it could be a really cool neighborhood spot, but the waiter was so busy talking to a young lady at the bar that he ignored me, for quite some time. There were only 3 other people in the restaurant besides me, all of whom were sitting at the bar and looked like they'd been there for a while, so i was really annoyed that he kept talking to this young lady while I'm standing at the counter, waiting. He finally acknowledged me but with minimal effort. Of course I DID NOT leave a tip, I wanted to ask for the manager but wasn't in the mood, so i grabbed my calzone and headed out. As you can see from the pictures- it was mostly bread. The sauce was really thin, the ricotta could have been a nice touch but it needed more mozerella for binder. The calzone was very runny from the cooked vegetables and lacked depth of flavor. For ALL of the above reasons (mainly the lack of customer service) I will not return and will not encourage others to eat here.

Yelp
Some of the best pizza I've had in portland. The sweet and spicy is perfection the garlic knots are pretty good too I would just recommend they roast the garlic first, sometimes you get a mouth full of what tastes like minced raw garlic and it's not the most pleasant.

Yelp
Great NY style pizza. Got a 18" basil white sauce pie for lime $33, the crust was perfectly cooked and it was ready in about 10 min. Not sure if the price is high or not compared to other places but it was a good pizza so worth it IMO. Had a cozy quiet dive bar vibe.

Yelp
Great local joint without the fuss, delicious pie, great price, gluten free options, friendly environment.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch at opening time so the place was empty. Ordered 2 slices and garlic knots ... took 20 minutes for the order to be ready. This is usually not an issue but I was in a hurry and the pizza was already made so I didn't expect the knots to take that long. Besides the wait, the staff was very friendly and the place had a nice vibe to it. Lots of beer choices with some CBD soda options as well (never even knew CBD soda was a thing). Knots were delish and worth the 15-20 minutes it took to make and I pack them up. Pizza was good too - nice flavor and thin crusted.

Yelp
Darn good pizza at a decent price. Great bar with wonderful neighborhood atmosphere and super kind employees.

Yelp
Best pizza spot in the neighborhood! Cozy space, friendly staff. The Caesar salad is the bomb diggity.

Yelp
I've only been here twice but I'm a fan. Both times I went in and place an order go on a Sunday evening. While I waited, I had a drink and it was relaxing. The bartender is super friendly and attentive. They have a variety of sizes for pizza including a 10 inch which is great for just me! Tons of toppings to choose from and sandwiches and appetizers as well. So the pizza is really good as is the ranch HOWEVER, It's very crust heavy and not a lot of "pizza" but this is a review for the 10inch only. I did not mind this as I enjoyed the crust dipped in ranch but just an observation. I've seen the slices there and they are not that way at all. Lots of cheese and sauce to enjoy. I highly recommend this place for a slice, take out pie or even just a beverage!

Yelp
GOOD NEIGHBOR ROCKS! Their ambiance is such a neighborhood feel and they've stayed open in the midst of snowpocalypse! Their pizza is delicious and reasonably priced and the staff is always friendly
google avatar

Jason N.

Yelp
If you love crust, then this is your place! Was the pizza any good? Hard to tell, since my pie was 90% crust! Place was chill, employees were too. Very disappointed in the pizza.
google avatar

Sonja F.

Yelp
Fuc%ing BOMB pizza. Although my first Pizza was burnt on the bottom which I don't like, service was a bit slow, they appeared understaffed, this is some of the best pizza I've ever tasted. Will keep coming here. The bartender I had during my third visit was the best. She took great care of me. She gets a personal five stars

Yelp
I can't believe I didn't review Good Neighbor years ago. The week we moved into the neighborhood , we won a gift card during National Night Out and enjoyed one of our first meals in Woodlawn with great pizza , great beer, and garlic knots . Good Neighbor is always a class act . Last weekend, they hosted our end -of-season party for our soccer team and it was a hit. Rob handled everything quickly and easily. Everyone enjoyed the food and there were options for all dietary restrictions.
google avatar

Yelp
Since my previously scathing review, I've moved much closer to Good Neighbor and more or less became a customer by default. I've not seen the employee who treated me like dirt, the current staff is awesome and friendly, and the food is pretty darned good! A great neighborhood spot minus all the tobacco smoke that takes up half their outdoor seating and even wafts inside.

Yelp
Stopped in for a snack and beer after walking over from Woodlawn Park. We shared the mini-calzone filled with mushrooms and pepperoni. It was enough for two people as a snack and would be a large lunch for just one person. Supplemented our appetite with a few $6 drafts (average for PDX), relaxed on the porch with the pup, had a great and relaxing time. Calzone not pictured bc it was hastily consumed.

Yelp
Pretty good pizza. Unfortunately, I have to give them 1 star after my most recent experience. I walked in to order a large pepperoni pie. To which they responded sorry we are out of large pizzas. My response was oh sorry your out of pizza? To which they said no just large pizzas. They then offered to make 2 14" small pies instead. I was caught quite off guard and honestly didn't know how to respond at first. I asked are you out of dough? To which they responded; no just large dough. To those of you who have not been, this is a pizza shop that makes their own dough. I was baffled and asked can't you just use some of the dough to make a large pie. They responded again that they were out of large dough. I was baffled and dumbfounded. They had dough and plenty of dough just were not willing to weigh it out and shape it into a large pie. They're pizza is pretty decent. But, I grew up in New Jersey this is not the attitude of a true pizza shop. It's understandable to be out of ingredients but to be unable to use dough to make a large pie is an unacceptable attitude of a pizzaiolo. I don't know if I can go back after this experience. The New Jersey part of me grabbed the wheel and immediately drove across 4 lanes of freeway traffic to the nearest exit and never looked back.

Yelp
Really wanted to like this place and have a pizza joint on the corner. Unfortunately it didn't happen. Ordered a pizza the other night and it was barely cooked. I enjoy a "doughy" slice but the bread and knots were straight up just not cooked. I placed them in the oven for an additional 10 minutes and the dough was still raw. This was my first carb after 6 weeks of keto and I could only manage to eat one and half slices. Additional star is added Bc they were open during the snow storm.
google avatar

Jake M.

Yelp
Divey but clean atmosphere, no-frills, but solid service. We got the "triangle" pie (pineapple and jalapeño) - it was a little soggy in the center, but otherwise delicious. Solid selection of brews on taps. Swift Cider had a nice bite on the back end. Would eat here again if in the neighborhood, but a little pricy for what it is.

Josh P.

Yelp
Received this pizza(via Postmates). Pretty burnt as the photo shows. Called Good Neighbor, knowing it's probably a bartender answering, to ask what I can do about this. Was quickly responded with invalidation and blame put on Postmates. I understand the bartender or other person answering the phone may not be responsible, but I was asking for their advice or suggestion on how to have my order replaced, and they were very unwilling to help. I order from GN a lot, and most times it is good, but I don't think I should be expected to deal with a burnt pizza or poor customer service. Ordered again from postmates today (1/2020), pizza was luke warm. Probably best to pick up youself.
google avatar

Adrian L.

Yelp
Grabbed a slice while picking up a Postmates order the other day and my life will never be the same. The pizza is fire. Great base with a good amount of some really nicely done sauce, quality toppings and fantastic cheese. Beer and wine delivery, decent outdoor seating. Nice neighborhood to take a bike ride through, that part of ainsworth is a lazy meandering small road with little traffic. Got delivery a couple days after that, and Pizza was kind of a mess, had melted onto/into whatever wavy paper thing they line their boxes with. It was still delicious. Caesar salad was good, nice croutons made in house. Delivery boxing ing needs improvement, but the pizza is so good I can't even bring myself to give them anything less than five stars.

Schyler W.

Yelp
This review is for the pizza alone. Style: call it Neapolitan. Execution: Besos took my pizza boner to space. Don't know if I was just lucky on the right day, but I'm gonna remember today's pizza like the prop room in high school where Donna took me somewhere I hadn't been before.

Yelp
This is a place my boyfriend has been wanting to take me for quite some time. With that being said, I had high expectations that the pizza would be ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR! We ended up coming around 1230 at night, a few tables scattered but nothing too busy. There was pizza in the display case (already made) and a single guy working behind the bar (well I'm sure there were kitchen staff in the back). He was kind enough to greet us and let us know that he might get busy behind the bar and to not be discouraged if he doesn't show us attention. In my head, I'm like it's already almost 1, how busy can it possibly get? We couldn't decide what to eat so we ordered 3 slices of pepperoni pizza and ordered the mozzarella garlic knots. The bartender was also kind enough to let us know the pizza would be out long before the knots since they have to be cooked. We said SURE! Bring out the slices first haha. Now, I love pizza and try not to judge. The pizza here was good! But in a thin crust and crunch crust kind of way. I was hoping for a more plump slice of pizza but it was extremely thin but a big slice. The mozzarella garlic knots (I couldn't decide regular garlic or mozz) and so we got the mozz but I kind of wish we got the no mozz because it was just too much cheese for me. I love cheese but there's a limit to how much I can enjoy. BUT !!!! These garlic knots were the softest, doughiest, PLUMPest knots I've ever had! I enjoyed them so much! Also, it comes with a tomato marinara type dip. It's definitely not processed marinara because it was chunky and tasted more fresh than anything. Also cold. Which didn't vibe with me too well. I would like my marinara warm. Either way, this place was chill. I liked it. The window "walls" go up and the whole place was a nice breezy feel.

Yelp
They Gave us cookies on the house for our first order !! Great service and big pizza :)
google avatar

Darroch C.

Yelp
If I lived in the neighborhood I'd be a regular. The ambiance is okay and the service is acceptable, however, "the sum of the parts is greater than the whole."
google avatar

Kait S.

Yelp
Excellent pizza! One of our very favorites. The sweet and spicy and the Dekum are a couple of our favorites. I love that they sell it by the slice. They also have a great Caesar salad.
google avatar

Scarlett V.

Yelp
Just really mediocre. Soggy. Tasteless. Maybe they had an untrained high school kid cooking the pizzas? Threw my pizza out band ate instant ramen instead. I'd like them to succeed but just... make edible pizza.
google avatar

Dave K.

Yelp
The people working there were nice and communicated well with the guest. Unfortunately the pizza was nothing special, decent size thin crust pizza by the slice with 5 options on display one being vegetarian. Pricing was right for what you get. I'd go back again, I would ask you all to try it out and give this place your own review. While waiting for your food. Have one of their beers that they have available.

Barbara L.

Yelp
I've been coming here for the last 3 months and it's been groovy, last few times my pizza has been sort of burnt and today was the cherry on top. I came in to get my usual order of mozz knots and I get a complete order of burnt bread w slight cheese on top. Here's the pic. I will definitely not come here again. This was unacceptable.
google avatar

Jen R.

Yelp
We're so lucky to have this as our neighborhood pizzeria. Absolutely excellent pizzas and great service. In this new COVID world where we could (and have) ordered pizza from all over Portland, this is still our fave.
google avatar

Barlow M.

Yelp
Solid pie. Simple but delicious drinks. Awesome bartenders. This place attracts neighborhood regulars who are quick to welcome in new people. Definitely an overall friendly, inviting atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm giddy. Jumping up and down and clapping my hands like a spazz....because there is a *nice* pizza place coming to NE Dekum Street! And they have applied for their liquor license! And it's within stumbling distance of my house! I went there today for a neighborhood meeting (they aren't quite open yet) and it's all lofty inside and rustic, with a long bar, tables, and wonderful art.... I'm not sure when it will open... I hope the pizza's good. I hope the crust is homemade and crisp. I hope the cheese is real and the sauce is dark and spicy. I hope they have Vanilla Stoli. Please God....... UPDATE 11/01/07: It's open! It's open! It's open!
google avatar

Bryan I.

Yelp
what a great little friendly, local neighborhood gem in NE PDX!!! Friendly staff, open space for music, playing games while you eat, etc. The house salad was an excellent seasonal variety of veggies (cheese, but I say that about most food :-) The big calzone was decent. Not quite as amazing as I've heard from others (the cheese:topping ratio was too high), but the large is perfect for 2 people...best to just get the mini if you're eating for one. - Next time I'd recommend the pizza, instead, unless you're a HUGE calzone fan. Oh yeah, and a great selection of local brews on tap, too!!!! A couple TVs round out the place to let you relax while watching the local sports game with a pint to cool your body after a long day's work. Definitely a place worth checking out!
google avatar

Robby H.

Yelp
10/10 I stop here every time I'm visiting from out of town. Ben and staff are amazing and pizza is solid every time, whether I'm ordering a single slice or a whole pie. Fresh ingredients, great beer selection and a full bar. Extremely reasonable pricing!
google avatar

F J.

Yelp
Great calzones and laid back environment. Anytime of the afternoon, evening, and wee morning ;) they are great. I love that I can call in orders anytime too. And they have been great about reminding me when kiddos are not allowed (bar times, I sometimes have hungry teens) in ways that still make me feel welcome to come back.

Nancy R.

Yelp
Whatever these guys are doing, keep doing it! Omg the pizza was AMAZING! What really did it for us was the chicken cesar salad. I've tried plenty but this one takes the number one spot. My boyfriend and I still talk about the salad till this day. I wish we could find something like that here in LA. We sat on their bench tables out side and it was a lovely dinner for two. Staff was super friendly and came to check on us often.
google avatar

Toshi I.

Yelp
Decent pizza. One of our stops during our bike tour. Casual bar and friendly service.
google avatar

Wayne H.

Yelp
The pizza was undercooked, cooled to room temp, and reheated in an oven. The cheese was somehow melted and fluid without being hot, and the crust was doughy. I was the only person there for lunch. Possibly this is not really a restaurant but a money-laundering front.
google avatar

Mike J.

Yelp
Really great spot not only for their pizza and micro taps, they are all ages family friendly; not uncommon to see kids even up to 9 or 10PM. Chill atmosphere and friendly staff. 2 flat screens, and the bartenders always have great taste in streaming music. Menu is straight forward, salads/sandwiches/pizza... but all made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Excellent flavor.
google avatar

K T.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place and we are glad we did. It is DOG FRIENDLY so that makes me happy!!!! The service was good. Our waitress was attentive and made good suggestions. We had a couple pints. We weren't super hungry and were delighted that you could order a slice of pizza! Perfect!!!!!! The pizza was decent. What I liked most about this place was the vibe. There were a lot of folks hanging out enjoying the evening and folks talked to each other! We ended up staying a lot longer because we got to yakking and met a whole bunch of new people. I like that! Nice neighborhood vibe and fun place to hang out (WITH your dog!!!!).
google avatar

Cindy I.

Yelp
The pizza was okay. Might be nicer on a summer evening sitting outside with friends. The pluses: -The ingredients seem very high quality -Choices of toppings - a ton -Service was friendly The minuses: -The balance was off, most of you know what I mean, crust to sauce to toppings ratio. I was having a hard time pin pointing what didn't sit well with me. -crust on the bland side, yeasty but not flavorful -Weird lighting, all of the fixtures gave off a different hue of white and it clashed and made the place look drab at night - it wasn't bright but the dimness wasn't mood setting either, just odd -salad just basic nothing great So more of a personal preference why it's only okay so give it a try and see what you think.
google avatar

Danielle B.

Yelp
Best pizza in town! We come here every time we're here from Southern California! Chill and laidback vibe, the staff is always super friendly and they make you feel right at home. Furthermore, Ben is the best! He always goes above and beyond to give you the greatest experience.
google avatar

Yelp
DUDE. Okay this sweet and spicy pizza is the best thing to ever grace this planet. Seriously. Everything about it is perfect. I could cry tears of joy.
google avatar

Yelp
Love this neighborhood spot. Staff is always welcoming, drinks are a generous pour and the food is top notch. Love that they have arcade games for the family and large tables for big groups. The calzones are AMAZING!!
