Based on their website and socials, I was really looking forward to going here to celebrate my recent engagement with friends. When we showed up the place was so packed you could barely get to the bar and the dance floor was more like people shimmying in place shoulder to shoulder. And very sticky!
I ordered two double rum & cokes and the total was $50 (!!). After my fiancé and I tasted our drinks we were pretty much certain the bartender forgot to put even a single shot in (we aren't big drinkers and this was our first stop of the night, so there isn't much chance we were just immune to the alcohol content). I took our drinks back up to the bar and politely asked a different bartender if there was anything he could do. He very rudely replied that he didn't make the drinks, he wasn't going to taste the drinks to see if I was telling the truth, and he could remake the drinks if I was wanted to pay another $50. No thanks!
I waited for our initial bartender and asked if there was any possibility the alcohol could have been left out. She promptly replied, "No. I remember making these drinks. Each has a double shot." I explained that we aren't big drinkers and never get double shots but that our friend's rum & coke with a single shot was much stiffer than ours and that at $25 a pop, I figured it was worth asking about. Especially since we were celebrating our engagement! After ending with, "I don't normally complain-" she cut in with, "but you ARE" and rolled her eyes.
She did end up pouring us each double shots in separate cups to add ourselves but was visibly pissed at us, verbally demeaning, and just rude overall. And to be fair, I get it! I'm sure they get shit all the time from drunk people trying to get free drinks. But we were sober, cheery, honest, and so passive/apologetic about having to ask about our drinks in the first place. It ruined our time there and after we finished our drinks we promptly left and will not be returning.
