"A new market, Good Stuff Corktown, opened on Michigan Avenue, offering prepared foods and everyday household essentials. Founded by Mallory Mottoulle and Carmen Tocco, the shop aims to bring the spirit of New York bodegas to Detroit. It offers a variety of products including paper towels, Calder dairy milk, Crispelli’s bread, and pastries like croissants. The shop features a Corktown feel with original tile floors and antique pieces. Future plans include building out a kitchen to serve Ayurvedic food." - Brenna Houck

Local. Cute and friendly neighborhood grocery, beer and wine shop. We stopped in while we were out for a Sunday walk. The owner proprietor was very genuine and engaging. We got a few things we needed and continued our walk. How convenient was that! They said that they were planning on doing sandwiches and table service in the near future, sounds like we will be back.

Super neat little gem in the neighborhood. Fantastic selection of pantry staples, unique and local products, and cold/frozen food to meet your needs. Very happy to have a place like this within walking distance. (Just wished they opened earlier!)

This little bodega is right near our new apartment in Elton Park. It carries a various array of groceries and household products for a convenient buy! I love this little place. Great iced coffee, too!

I walked in and had forgotten to put my mask on. I was approached in a kind matter to put one. Like I said I forgot - no big deal to put one on. But what came next is what bothered me! Woman who comes in right after was holding her scarf over her face. The women working behind the counter told her to take her scarf down. The other woman said she had no problem holding it up. But the shop worker kept insisting for her to take it down. Another woman in the shops also decided to take hers off. Yet why was I to be the only one instructed to put one on? I put everything down I had plan on buying. I was hoping to find a shop in my aunt neighborhood would enjoy. But the inconsistency of how people were treated here is no place I’m looking to “locally” spend my money.

Great selection of food for such a small place. Friendly owners who genuinely seem to care about the area and the people. Good prices for the quality.

Yelp
Good Stuff Corktown brings a modern take to the old-time neighborhood general store. The experience you get here that isn't offered at corporately owned hypermarkets makes it worth the visit. The owners are friendly and interact with their customers. Much of the merchandise is locally sourced, like grass-fed beef from Marrow in Detroit's West Village, pierogi's from Pietrzyk Pierogi at Gratiot Central Meat Market, pasta from Mamma Mucci's in Canton, milk from Calder Dairy & Farm in Lincoln Park, breakfast sausage from Byron Center Meats near Grand Rapids, and Michigan Farm to Freezer produce from local farmers. It's amazing what can be found right in this area that doesn't require being shipped across the country from a factory farm. Besides foodstuffs, there are locally made candles and skincare products and, if you come early, pastries as well. This is really "good stuff" that can't be found at most grocery stores. It's too bad more people outside of Corktown don't know about this store, but hopefully, my review will bring in more customers. It's on the same block as Ottava Via and several other restaurants, so stop by when dining in the area.

Yelp
Cool little grocery story found right along Michigan Avenue that we stumbled into while waiting for a table at a restaurant nearby. Great selection of wines, cheeses, sauces, breads, pastas, jams and more. Everything is quality, and they've got some nice offerings from local places like meats from Marrow and pierogi from Pietrzyk Pierogi.

Yelp
Awesome shop. Please visit and spend money here. The owner is dedicated to Corktown and creating a fantastic experience and offering amazing, plus the standard, products. We had a great time shopping with her and will definitely be back!

Yelp
Ok. i don't usually write reviews. But this place is Amaze Balls, the people who work here (amazingly cute & smart) and they have a great collection of local stuff with wines too. Plus the music playing is sooo good (lived in Nola). Its my first time here in Detroit, and i would love to go back here to get there stuff, wines, and of course i saw some croissants as well. And the perks get your email signed up to get the next wine tasting dates :). And they complement your cologne. haha
