The Fast Casual Power Rankings - Washington DC - The Infatuation

"Good burgers are hard to come by, thankfully Good Stuff Eatery makes it easier. This classic burger joint has two locations in DC (Georgetown and Capitol Hill) and one past security at Reagan Airport so you can grab a shake before you ditch DC for the warm waters in Bermuda (or Pensacola, Florida). They have service down to a science, so there’s rarely a line and wait times usually run around 5-10 minutes. The burgers, shakes, and fries are all fire, and the sauces like mango habanero, chipotle, and Old Bay take your meal to a whole new level." - omnia saed

Google
Good Stuff Eatery is a must-visit in DC! I ordered the Oreo milkshake, and it was absolutely amazing—rich, creamy, and filled with chunks of Oreo. The perfect balance of sweetness! Alongside the shake, I enjoyed the “Moo Moo Mr. Cow” burger, which was juicy and flavorful. The atmosphere is casual and fun, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The staff were friendly and quick, adding to the overall positive experience. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by for a delicious shake and burger combo! Highly recommend!

Google
We ordered the bacon cheese burgers with everything, and they were good. The buns are awesome. We didn't like the fries they were greasy and soggy. Service was really fast they lowered both the ordering and pick-up line extremely fast, so don't be afraid if you see a long line to order.

Google
Good Stuff Eatery serves decent burgers 🍔 in the nice area of GeorgeTown in Washington. The potatoes were bad though, like they are using the same oil to cook them for days. They have a variety in burgers and the place is pretty spacious with tables inside and outside. The service was fast enough. Recommend it!

If you’re craving a burger that delivers on flavor, juiciness, and serious satisfaction—Good Stuff Eatery gets it right. This burger was stacked with everything you’d want: a thick, well-seasoned patty, melty cheese, crisp veggies, and a soft bun that held it all together without getting soggy. The real kicker? Their sauce game is on point. With multiple options to dip and layer on, every bite hits differently—in the best way. Add in the hand-cut fries and you’ve got the perfect casual meal that doesn’t cut corners. A must-try if you’re all about that burger life.

Google
Do not eat here! You will get food poisoning!!!!! Ingredients were left out everywhere on HOT summer day. I expect better in Georgetown! Eggs, olives, cucumbers left everywhere on counters for customers to touch. RAW CHICKEN ON A TRAY NEXT TO BUNS. DISGUSTING. My daughter has a compromised immune system! We left immediately, a food illness could have her in the hospital with severe complications! And the doors were left wide open with flies everywhere, we used to love this place!

Google
I wish I can do Separate ratings because My Burger was Delicious but the Tenders on the other hand dissatisfied me!!! Tenders I was served even have a burnt smell ALSO I was Served cold, Not Fresh Fries with my Burger and Tenders.

Google
We go here often and are never disappointed. Usually, it’s for a quick burger. Love them - have tried many from the menu. Perfect selection of toppings, yummy bun. Today, we grabbed a basket of chicken tenders and fell in love. Crispy - but not overly coated. Well seasoned! Really nice breast meat. Came with a side of fries. Will definitely get these again. Feel very lucky to live walking distance to the Georgetown location. If you are in town and want an easy meal that would satisfy even a picky eater, stop in. Simple. Cheap. Quick. And consistency good!

Google
If you're a fan of delicious milkshakes and burgers, Good Stuff Eatery is the place to go! The combination of a yummy milkshake paired with their iconic burger is a game changer. The burger, topped with applewood bacon, Roquefort cheese, and onion marmalade, offers a savory and tangy flavor that pairs perfectly with a creamy, indulgent milkshake. The shakes here are rich and flavorful, and you can't go wrong with the toasted marshmallow flavor—it's a sweet, satisfying treat! The atmosphere is casual and fun, making it a great spot to grab a tasty meal with friends or family. Highly recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area!

Yelp
I recently visited Good Stuff Burger, and I can't rave enough about my experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a lively atmosphere filled with fantastic music that had me singing along while I waited for my food. It really set the tone for a great meal. The cashiers were incredibly nice and accommodating, making the ordering process smooth and enjoyable. Their friendly demeanor added to the welcoming vibe of the place. Now, let's talk about the food--absolutely amazing! I opted for the hot honey chicken sandwich topped with an egg, and it was a game changer. The combination of flavors was simply delicious, and every bite was a delight. Overall, Good Stuff Burger is a must-visit for anyone looking for great food, a fun atmosphere, and top-notch service. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Really good price for three huge tenders fries and drink all around 14 bucks which still high better than some places with higher quality in friends as well. Super friendly staff clean area and really good looking menu. I wanted just som food so tenders and fries for me. A short wait and my buzzer went off and grabbed my meal packaged up on a tray. I appreciated this because if I want to eat in store or to go I have the option. After getting meal they had different sauces out and tried the chipotle one but tasted only of mayo to me. I did get their homemade ranch and that was really good on my chicken. Chicken was FRESH HOT and loved the breading on them. Didn't taste too salty and same with the fries. It was the perfect portion for me and enjoyed my quick lunch here. Def want to try the burgers next time... and maybe a shake!
google avatar

Yelp
Really yummy! We got the prez burger and the bbq burger and both were delicious and tasty. The fries were worth it too, with so many sauce options for dipping. The food was ready fairly quickly. Would recommend trying!

Yelp
Stopped by on a rainy day while shopping around Georgetown for Comfort food. First time and will definitely not be the last. Wish they had more locations!! Food was made quick, Try the Siracha and Chipotle sauces!! The burgers were amazing!! i can honestly say one of the best fries and burgers i've had in a while. I like how the dining is upstairs with plenty of space. Definitely will be recommend this spot for the next time you visit georgetown!!

Yelp
Good Stuff is one of the only reasons I drive into the city (about 90 mins from where I live without traffic). The service is always amazing and you can tell they have a standard for what they're giving you. We love the quality of the burgers and fries. And their choices for dipping sauces are RIDICULOUS! You have to leave room for a shake. The toasted marshmallow is live changing!
google avatar

Suzanne P.

Yelp
Vegetarian here-You will never go wrong with the Greek salad and French fries! Sooo good. Tip it off with the toasted marshmallow milkshake and you will have a happy belly!
google avatar

Clara S.

Yelp
I recently ordered the Prez Obama burger and snack fries. Both were great-- the burger was definitely on the greasier side, but the flavor balance was amazing and the portion size was just right. The fries were pretty good too, but they were a bit soggy by the time I ate them since I ordered takeout. Overall, I really enjoyed the burger. Definitely will dine in next time to check out the other menus, ambiance, and service!

Maria K.

Yelp
Amazing! One of my favorite spots Definitely don't look over this spot whilst in Georgetown Burgers are so flavorful and high quality The fries and shake are also a must One of my favorites

Yelp
I saw this place on an Instagram reel and I had high hopes. Needless to say I was highly disappointed. The service is quite slow. Took about 15/20 mins for a chicken sandwich, salad, chili, fries and a burger. The prices are expensive. For $68 I got 1 chicken sandwhich combo (fries and drink), one burger combo (fries and milkshake), an order of chili, and a Caesar salad. The food is mediocre. (The chili was GREAT). The rest, basic. Chicken breast with Buffalo sauce. A small burger. Nothing really blew me away. I don't see the hype at all.

Yelp
I was craving a burger and I've always pass by this spot whenever I'm in Georgetown so I thought to give it a try today. Honestly? It was really good and it definitely hit the spot. I personally wished there was less cheese and some lettuce but otherwise it was good!! I will definitely be visiting again!
google avatar

Yelp
Loved the steakhouse burger! Definitely a more casual spot but burger was decently sized and priced.
google avatar

Yelp
If you love burgers, Good Stuff Eatery is worth the stop. First opened on Capitol Hill by Top Chef alumnus Spike Mendelsohn, the Georgetown location is similar in design. Both have the register on the first floor with seating on the second. My go-to order is always the Prez Burger with a small village fries and Cherry Coca-Cola. For the fries, they have different mayo like siracha and chipotle. The fountain dispenser has a variety of Coke products. Although tasty, it's very greasy and a bit much. I always feel a little sick after eating the burger and fries due to its intensity.

Yelp
No. No. NO. Good Stuff Eatery is so overhyped and overrated! It always pops up on whatever app you use to search for food, and it isn't that good for a burger place. You would think that these burgers would be at least somewhat decent because of the price, the rave reviews, and the social media presence, but it isn't even close to that. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger for around $14 total. The burger was so dry, flavorless, unseasoned, and boring. All of the ingredients were just there. It's almost as if they didn't even have a purpose. None of the ingredients worked well together, and there wasn't any flavor to it. It was just meat on a boring bun. The bun was one you could get from the store, and the patty was so dry, bland, and small. For such a price, this is definitely not what I was looking for. You could go to so many other places to get yourself a burger that is at least somewhat good. Shake Shack and Five Guy's are perfect examples that are around the same price. But this is so disappointing. I knew that I was getting into overhyped territory, but I wanted to give it a chance. Overall, a place that you should not go for burgers.

Yelp
My sister in law recommended this place and we decided that since she's very carful due to extreme allergies. We ended up loving it! Their hamburgers and salads are delicious and we enjoyed eating Al fresco in the glorious sunshine. It was such a beautiful day!
google avatar

Mike Y.

Yelp
came here and had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Chicken was not completely dry but could have been more juicy, outside was mildly crunchy. Lacking in flavor in my opinion. Definitely not as spicy as I was wanting. They do have good sauces, chiptole and siracha and old bay. fries are quite decent. did not have the hamburger this round. price on the med-high side. will still fill not completely satisfy with 1 sandwich. could possibly do 2 if you're hungry.
google avatar

Yelp
The core of this place is burgers and fries, and I thought that both were good! The music is a bit loud and the narrow, steep staircase that you have to navigate with your food to reach the dining area is ridiculous! The food was delivered hot and quick.
google avatar

Grant E.

Yelp
For fast casual burgers this is a little more upscale than five guys and you feel that in the price point. The quality of the food is very high and the food delivered on expectations. It's a great option for something quick in Georgetown but don't expect to be blown away.
google avatar

Maria-Elena T.

Yelp
Always wanted to try this place. Came here on a Monday night right before closing. No line. We waited and ate outside which was really nice. Cookies and cream milkshake to die for. Worth. Every. Calorie! The Marshmallow milkshake was also killer. You could really taste the toasted marshmallow. The burger was incredible. They made it perfectly. Right amount of blue cheese. Didn't put the pickle per my request. Had the extra lettuce. We also got the onion pedals which were amazing too. My only complaint was that The Bathroom was dirty and the tables were dirty. And I didn't feel much ambiance upstairs. Will definitely come back and eat outside again. I found a new love!

Yelp
Yeah, I wanted to give Good Stuff a higher score, but the taste of some of their burgers left something to be desired. We came to Good Stuff because it was opened by my main man Spike Mendelsohn who was a contestant on the TV show Top Chef Masters. They have a wide selection of burgers and sandwiches for sale here. Some were great, and some were meh. The Spike's Sunnyside and Good Stuff Melt were remarkable. Super tasty, fresh ingredients, just a great burger overall. I would say the quality is comparable to "gourmet" burger spots like The Counter, Red Robin, West Coast Beef Co., etc. On the other hand, burgers like the Barack Obama and the Michelle Obama were underwhelming. The Barack Obama had too much blue cheese so it ended up being super funky, and the Michelle Obama was just too healthy for my taste. I enjoy turkey burgers just as much as anyone (see: Bongo Burger), however, the combination of a dry turkey patty combined with the very seedy whole grain bun made for a bland and dry experience (very healthy tho!) The thing that made this place pretty epic imo was their sauce selection. They had so many sauces "on tap" which you could dispense into little paper cups to put on your burger or fries. Among these were sauces like mango habanero, horseradish, honey mustard, chipotle, and more. The creamy horseradish sauce was fantastic, would highly recommend. Looking back, good stuff is a cozy place to get burgers and fries by a b-list celebrity chef. Just be warned that their burgers can be a mixed bag. Good times..

Yelp
A friend recommended this spot and I've had it before (was good then as well) so was glad to try it again. For the Georgetown area it's a decent sized burger for a decent price point (~$9-10). The burger was quite good and tasty. I would come back here again if am in the area!

Yelp
busy restaurant with many tourists around. The food we ordered was good. However it's like a fast food restaurant nothing more we can expect for the environment
google avatar

Aiden S.

Yelp
One word to describe their burger: wet. And who wants a wet burger? The burgers come wrapped in paper and even before being unwrapped you can see the pool of grease. It's not just the paper or the patty, everything is wet: the bun, the cheese, the toppings. You can't hold the burger without your fingers getting wet. Flavor-wise, the burger is mediocre at best. I ordered the Obama burger, which sounded delicious off the menu. But the onions are so sweet that they must have dumped a mountain of sugar on them when cooking. The chef who made the recipe for this burger seems to have the palette of a ten year old. I've never had such a sweet burger in my life. The onion petals were also mediocre at best. The quality you would expect to get at a state fair carnival. Thick breading, zero seasoning, and the bottom of the cup was (of course) wet. I'm not coming back.
google avatar

Sherry J.

Yelp
- Order at the counter and they give you a buzzer for when it's ready - Quite expensive for a burger joint but we are on M street in Georgetown - Got the steakhouse burger and it was super oily - The patty was really good and tender - The fries also have really heavy seasoning. I ended up shaking the fries so that there was less seasoning on each fry. Definitely not for me - Have had better burgers elsewhere - They're charging a covid 19 fee. Not sure if it's fixed or a percentage

Tim K.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite burger places. I recommend the onion petals. I had the Colleti's Smokehouse burger, it was excellent.
google avatar

Linda W.

Yelp
my daughter got a burger and fries. The burger was super greasy and the fries were burnt. Given that I think they are all just a heart attack, I probably shouldn't be the one writing a review. But she threw out 1/2 the fries (highly unusual)
google avatar

Savannah L.

Yelp
A Georgetown friend recommended this American food spot and WOW. Saved on my list because I'm definitely coming back. For fast food, It's not greasy at all and the meat tastes great.
google avatar

Anushka M.

Yelp
This place always smells so good whenever we walk by so we finally decided to try it out. Menu is pretty easy to follow. They have a variety of burgers to choose from and some with turkey burgers or Nashville hot chicken. We went with the melt burger which has caramelized mushrooms and onions, and substituted American cheese. We got the village fries as a side and got an Oreo cookie shake. Burger was good and had a good amount of toppings. There are various dipping sauces you can pick so we tried chipotle, sriracha mayo, and old bay. Out of the three the chipotle was the best for us. The village fries were ok, we felt the rosemary and thyme in them were too overpowering. The shake was really good and a good size too.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
They were a little rough when they first opened, but very good now. Definitely on the greasy side but the flavors are all good!
google avatar

Samantha T.

Yelp
Not the best but not the worst. They have a wide variety of burger options along with chicken sandwiches. The service is pretty quick, you order at the register and then you get a buzzer that tells you when the order is ready. There's seating upstairs and outside - it's a casual diner vibe. I got the Spike's Sunnyside it was good but not something I'd go back to get. I also got a side of fries and I wasn't a fan. Everything is sold separately.
google avatar

Marley M.

Yelp
I LOVE burgers and this place was super satiating. My first time here I ordered a double cheese burger without knowing how thick (and juicy) the patties were. My burger was huge and delicious. The fries are like Five Guys fries and I love how they have about 8 different sauces at the sauce station. Their milkshakes arent bad but could be a tad bit more sweetened or flavorful. Over all, this place was delicious and I went back again to get the same order the next day lol

David N.

Yelp
The burger was ok but the main problem is a rat. I was eating in the second floor when two rats cross the floors. I stoped eating and stand up and I when to tell the workers before I walked away. I was thinking to ask for a refund but I do t want to be close to that place

Hallis M.

Yelp
The food was amazing, and the service was extraordinary. My sister and I had an incident that occurred (not related to the restaurant) where a man had approached us in an aggressive manner. The owner happened to have been sitting next to us at the tables outside and insured if we were okay. Following that, a worker graciously brought out milkshakes on the house for us and apologized on behalf of the incident, even though it had nothing to do with the restaurant. We were beyond grateful for such kindness.

R Bartley M.

Yelp
I've loved Good Stuff Eatery since it opened in Georgetown several years ago. Great burgers and fries. I went at least once a month for really really good basics. Recent visits have been downward trending. Increasingly the burger is served like a rolled up ball inside a too-tight wrapper. And the fries are often overcooked and/or so greasy they're limp. On my last visit they were inedible. So greasy they oozed when bitten into. I asked for another serving from a fresher/better batch. The staff person was friendly (as usual) and apologetic. But the replacement order wasn't much better. So I've got this place on my personal watch list.
google avatar

Winnie T.

Yelp
Came here for a gathering. So we are not just looking for food but a great place to talk and gather. This place is not bad for that. (And that earn that an extra star already) Was here on a Saturday night, not overly crowded. Of course parking anywhere near by is bad (to incredibly expensive) I ordered the Colletti smokehouse burger. It was dry. Very dry. The pattie is so dry and well done. (They never ask me how I would like the pattie be done, if they ever asked me, I would say please under cook the pattie). The whole burger is dry. The bacon is tough. My overall impression is the burger is: it's overrated. I had a lot of burgers better than this one. I will only give their food 2 stars (the last star for seating).

A B.

Yelp
The food tastes good! Think Raising Cane's meets Shake Shack with homemade fries. Nothing super differentiated.
google avatar

Kemishia S.

Yelp
The food was very much giving five guys! The atmosphere was giving new DC, which was good! I loved where it was and the aesthetic was beautiful. Now, would I eat here again? No , not with all that DC has to offer.. I ordered the Farm Cheeseburger and my husband got a grilled cheese burger? I said that because it was grilled cheese in a burger bun... it looked like school lunch but my husband said it tasted "fine" , but the look of it made it taste less appetizing. Overall the service was great! The food was C+ , and I'm happy I ate here!
google avatar

Jacqueline B.

Yelp
Best burger ever. Their sauce is amazing and the patty is cooked to perfection. Would definitely come back every time I'm in Georgetown and recommend to others as well!

Liv R.

Yelp
UberEats made a mistake with the delivery of my order and Derrick from Good Stuff in Georgetown made it more than right!! I love this burger spot and am a very moody pregnant woman so I was super thankful for his quick and understanding service at making this issue right! Great sauces, great shakes, phenomenal burgers and STELLAR service! 1000/10 recommend!!!
google avatar

Danielle R.

Yelp
My family and I loved the burgers and Cajun bayou fries! It was a nice day out so we sat outside, enjoyed our IPAs, Oreo cookie shake and coke floats! The vibe was great!

Ben H.

Yelp
Good eats for a quick sit down. Price was at a solid point for the area, service, and quality. I got the "Big stuff bacon meltdown" which was massive, delicious, and perfect for my hungry ass. This is a great spot for a quick burger, very similar to five guys, but a step up in quality.
google avatar

Avi R.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place which is right across Georgetown cupcakes. We couldnt get the cupcakes (they sold out)..but this place made up for it! Dine in/out : They are open for patio seating (limited) and have few tables upstairs (2nd floor). COVID : Sanitizer provided, staff are masked at all times. Parking: Street Food: They are famous for their burgers. They also have really good milk shakes and fries. Even though they had decent lines, order was fast and good service. Decent prices! They do charge some amount for covid. DC thing? (Not sure) Only cons is, i wouldnt recommend using their washrooms upstairs. Not clean at all.
google avatar

Taylor C.

Yelp
Overall this was pretty good. Food was prepared pretty quickly. I dared out and tried the rosemary fries...it was too much Rosemary to me. But otherwise was very good experience.

Koco E.

Yelp
This place is delicious! The variety of sauces are amazing, the burgers are cooked perfectly, the shakes are to die for, and they give you plenty of fries. I've been multiple times and will continue to return. The food is a little pricey but again it's worth what you pay for. The service is pretty speedy. Their locations are nice but my favorite is in Georgetown.

Gabi L.

Yelp
The service was awful, it's so sad when we feel like someone didn't want to be there. The reception was terrible especially the lady in the balcony. So upset
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
I was craving burgers realllyyyy bad and sadly DC's burger scene is really lacking. I've been to Good Stuff in the past for their rosemary fries which were really underwhelming, but I decided I'd try their burgers this time. Their phone lines were down/no one picking up but we decided to drive by anyway and see if they were open. Luckily they were! I loved their Spike's Sunnyside burger (with egg!). My husband loved the Prez Obama burger with bacon + caramelized onions. We got the regular fries which were just OK. Pricing was fair and the burgers were ready in about 10 minutes. We did pick up because parking here is really tough. I think overall it's a solid spot for good burgers and I would recommend it. I am looking forward to eating here again and trying their milkshakes also!

Iman M.

Yelp
I ended up with food poisoning from this place. Avoid at all cost. It's just hyped because of tik tok and other social media outlets.

Megan D.

Yelp
Smells better than it tastes. This used to be a go-to when visiting family in the area but the quality of the ingredients has definitely changed, and not for the better. The meat in my burger was so grainy, like there was bone ground into it, and it just tasted old. Disappointing.
google avatar

Clarence B.

Yelp
I am in DC rushing from an appointment to catch a flight and I almost run into to a guy coming out of 'Good Stuff Eatery." I smell the food, I haven't eaten, then I glance down to learn they have a lunch bag special. The ambiance is nice, kinda modern, pretty standard but the drinks and other food options are not the standard fare- but I have to run. So, Faced with lunch in the airport or grabbing lunch here, I take the chance order the lunch bag special, it comes piping hot I throw it into my bag and I rush off to the airport. When I arrive a DCA I learn my flight is delayed so I check my bag and sit down to eat this mystery meal. The bag, now greasy, is slightly warm. The burger is meaty and delicious, paired with a soft bun, and the right toppings with cheese. The fries were no longer piping hot due to my commute, but were delicious, cut with some skin from the potatoes on the fries, and salted just right. I can't wait to get back to DC to properly enjoy all this establishment offers- because their lunch bag special made a great first impression.

Yelp
Yummy burger place for a quick bite in Georgetown! Got the shroom burger (reminds me of shake shack one) and the president burger (I think it used to be called Obama burger) with some Cajun fries. There's seating upstairs too so a good place to sit and fill your tummy in between shopping!
