Highlights

Goodfellows Law is a mixed bag; while some praise Brent as a supportive community figure, others find his service slow and frustratingly inconsistent.

"Savvy consumers will be cognizant of the potential for great Chardonnay in Oregon. I was stunned by the quality of the Chardonnays crafted by producers like Bethel Heights, Goodfellow and Walter Scott, among others." - Rachel Tan

I contacted Brent back in February (02/04/25) and discussed my medical malpractice case with him. He had me bring him my medical records to send to an expert, and I collected and gave him over 1300 pages from my doctor (recieved the 1st week of March) and proceeded to wait the several weeks waiting time he told me it would take to go through it all. On May 2, I saw a post on the Mcminnville community page stating Mr. Goodfellow had sold the building and moved out of state. No call, no letter, no warning. I immediately called the office and spoke with the receptionist who remembered my case, and told me that the new attorney would be taking it on and scheduled me an appointment to sign paperwork on 05/20/25 @ 11am. Today is that day.. and just out of abundance of caution I contacted them to double check the appointment time.. to which I was informed that they didn't get that appointment transferred to their new system. I was also informed that the new attorney isn't actually taking my case, and they don't know where any of my medical records are, and that I need to hunt down Mr. Goodfellow who is now out of state and retrieve them. What?? This is madness. Not only am I dealing with the fallout of my life being put at risk and recovering..but I've wasted months of precious time on someone who took my records and ran with them. Appalled and disgusted doesn't even begin to cover my frustration.

Oh boy where to start…..If you are a looking for help this office is a hot mess. I am year into a shit show divorce and loser for an attorney. This office talks over you, doesn’t listen to you, loses your paperwork, will not send an itemized bill, doesn’t answer the phone, has no idea what is going on with your case, gives you no notice, shows up right on time disorganized for court. Best part is I have been over charged for everything even after dropping a heavy retainer. Chemeketa offers some really great philosophy classes on morals and ethics, Dr. C is an amazing teacher at the Yamhill campus right in McMinnville, maybe a refresher course on how to treat a being should be taken. Single mothers to four children should not have to hear her attorney say your husband is having a really hard time right before court. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!!!

Gave him $1200 to read my file & he couldn’t tell me anything it said besides one document he read verbatim. Then stalled to file an appeal after another $600 to file a motion & had to file it myself without his letterhead or advice. Consequentially after $1800 he wouldn’t even guarantee representation if it went to trial.

I spent days calling attorneys, I exhausted my 3 referrals through the bar and no one would help or listen, I felt lost. I called Goodfellows Law, two minutes into the consultation I knew this guy was listening. Yes, I had to pay a consultation but it was beyond worth it. I highly recommend!!!!!!

Brent is your guy if you want poor service. Brent and his office are VERY slow to reply to emails and return phone calls, which can cause cases to drag on for an unnecessary amount of time.

Unfortunately no one is happy in that office. Brent’s wife keeps locking everyone out of the computers and they loose important information. She wants them to bill for twice as many emails as as sent. My X bounced a check and she took the money out of my spousal support that was dropped off. I have not been invited to any meetings involving my case.? Just my X his attorney and Brent. I ended up with $300 less a month than my X and his attorney offered to begin with and he got all my jewelry, my gun that I had while he was married to another woman. He bought a car with a restraining order. Caught lying in court several times. Lost my house my dad left me. He is spending all kinds of money on designer clothing and accessories not to mention vanity surgeries. I’m handicapped and homeless. His wife is harassing constantly about money. You are better off representing yourself! Never returns calls!

My family and I have known Brent for over a decade and have had numerous business dealings with him. Time after time, Brent has given us his unconditional support, wisdom and courage. Brent is articulate, brilliant, very detailed and always fair in his approach. He simply wants and fights for what is right. We feel immensely protected and safe in his hands. What's more, Brent is a proud family man, a pillar in the community and a person that we are so blessed to call a lifelong friend.

Terrible I wouldn’t even recommend to anybody arguing against you. Nickle and Dimed everything ran services that weren’t even needed. I did more work on my end than he did I had the sheriffs office serve papers while they hired a company from Salem that took weeks, when the sheriffs did it in 2 days. Uncontested case. When all was done his Wife demanded a paid in full before he would sign my documents (due to fear of not paying if job was completed) Completely unprofessional but hey if you want somebody who will do slim to no work on a case you already will win then he is the guy.

Yelp
I was out to eat with my family when I had heard a lady loudly talking about a client's case to strangers and the waiter. she kept saying she worked at this law firm and how she was the front desk person. The most disturbing part was she was giving the details of a clients case and showing pictures of a dog that was run over by a vehicle. I know that she isn't an attorney but I would've assumed your information was safe when working with a law firm! I was so shocked, if you end up using this company be very wary during the consultation about handing over personal information.

Yelp
Good luck getting a response. He was hired to correspond with a company for me. After initial consult, I never heard from him again, it's been over a month now. Things we discussed were not included in the letter he wrote. I've left 6 phone messages, multiple emails, and in person messages. I had an issue with a 3 wk timeline, I ended up handling it myself. His staff also forwarded me an email with court documents about another clients confidential child custody issue
