Love this place! We had a terrific experience here when we came for lunch on a Thursday. The space — a lovingly preserved corner of the 1896 Lockett Building on Georgetown’s square — is inviting, bright and airy, with a central room surrounded by a wraparound balcony. Our server greeted us warmly and brought our drinks promptly. The full bar has a nice choice of craft beers on tap, cocktails, and wine. The menu also has lots of enticing choices; so many things sounded good! We ordered the chicken salad sandwich with sweet potato fries and the Fried Chicken Salad (pieces of fried chicken breast on mixed greens with bits of bacon and blue cheese crumbles), and both were absolutely delicious! We couldn’t resist the dessert special, Strawberry Buttermilk Cake with fresh berries, crème anglaise, and ice cream, and oh my goodness gracious, it was divine! We told the server it needs to be on the regular menu and she said that’s the plan. From the lunch crowd that was there that day, this is a very popular place, and based on our experience, it certainly merits that. We will be back again and again.

Had a really great experience today. We’ve been here multiple times, but we finally had our “oh damn” moment. Shanna was our server and she was manning the entire floor so I was insanely impressed with how attentive she was. She gave us great recommendations and we went with them. Holy hell we are glad we did. The food was amazing (chicken tenders are a little comically large, but I’d rather that than comically small). Dipping sauces were SO good and yes, we ordered pretty much every sauce available. Shanna was also delightfully funny and kind. We had a great time today.

This was a nice restaurant in downtown Georgetown. The food was pretty good and if you want fried chicken, this is your spot. I have different types of meals, but I think they mostly revolve around chicken. We got the fried pickles went great too! I wish they offered a barbecue or hot sauce, dipping sauce. Similar to what you would get on hot wings. I really like the layout of the restaurant and it was nice and clean with a really cool design. I feel the service was pretty good and overall we gave the food a thumbs up.

Atmosphere is great not your typical eatery has the old timely but new feel. Amber was great and was super speedy up and down the stairs with drinks food etc..def dont bring newborns here as those cries will echoooo. Unless you are into that. All around awesome spot. Food was good but not wow.

Google
A really cool spot for dinner in a historic building on the square of Georgetown. The sandwiches were really good and there was a solid drink selection as well. The sidewinder fries were also a nice surprise. Service was a little slow to start, but it got quicker after our drinks were eventually served.

This was our first stop at Georgetown. We were drawn to the inviting interior and the mouthwatering food photographs. Our experience was thoroughly positive. The staff was friendly and attentive, making our dining experience enjoyable. It was a Thursday evening, and the restaurant wasn’t overly crowded. We opted for the made-to-order fried chicken, which arrived after a 20-25 minute wait. However, the wait was worth it, as the chicken was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for a delightful lunch or a casual catch-up with friends or family. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area. All the food we ordered was tasty, and we managed to finish everything on our plates.

Went to the restaurant for a birthday celebration on Saturday afternoon. The brunch menu only being served was a disappointment. I had the weirdest BBQ shrimp I've ever eaten. Not sure where the recipe came from but it was sweet not savory. The shrimp were good but served on a toast with mayo ??? Bizzare and not to my liking. Expecting a completely different dish. If you go get the chicken apparently that is the restaurant's best dish. Abby our server was delightful. Make a reservation! The line was to the door. This is not a large group place the 6 of us were wedged into a booth too small . The biscuits were hard and dry served with compote and honey did not make them any less tuff or dry. They do have drink specials at brunch. Breakfast was probably a better choice.

Goodfolks is a cozy spot on Georgetown Square serving up Southern comfort food with a modern twist. Their fried chicken is crispy and juicy, and the honey butter biscuits are a must-try. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. Friendly service and a great selection of cocktails round out the experience. Found my new favorite spot ❣️

Yelp
We reserved a table for 8 for a friend's Sunday surprise birthday brunch. We did call ahead and were pleased that they had no issue with us bringing a Bday cake. Even though we arrived early to surprise the Birthday girl, our table was ready, and our server brought water as we awaited the guest of honor. Service throughout our visit was excellent. Goodfolks has an extended brunch menu and some interesting cocktails to get your motor running on a Sunday Funday. Bloodies and French 75s were table favorites. Check out their online menu for a complete list of their craft cocktails and local beer offerings. Highlights were the basic classic breakfast: applewood smoked bacon, 2 Vital Farms eggs, potato hash, and Texas toast. Three of us ordered our eggs served differently, and they all arrived perfecto. Another highlight was the chicken and biscuits. This serving is huge and was a struggle for most to finish. The chicken breast arrived crispy, lightly battered as advertised. The maple sage gravy and syrup honey butter provide a sweet taste to the dish. Two of us struggled to remember what business occupied this location before Goodfolks. Thank you, Elise, for your 2022 review, which reminded us that the Burger University was the previous tenant. I would recommend reservations, as they did get pretty busy. Easy 5-star review for this wonderful Georgetown Square restaurant. ,

Yelp
A nice cafe located on the corner of the Georgetown square. This cafe has a small menu that is worth checking out. It also has alcoholic beverages for consumption. Today I stopped by and was seated right away. They were a little busy so it took a little time before they came by to get our order. The server did apologize for our wait. I ordered the Goodfolks classic chicken sandwich with their sidewinder fries. The food was very good. I enjoyed my visit here and most likely be back when Im in GT. Thank you Goodfolks for a good experience.

Yelp
Always enjoy my visits to Goodfolks, great atmosphere for just a casual lunch or a nicer dinner. Southern comfort food is fantastic, love their biscuits to start, perfectly fluffy on the inside, with a buttery outside. Their sandwiches are very filling and flavorful, and I can't get enough of their fried chicken salad! Most importantly though is the waitstaff, they are attentive, kind, and as hospitable as can be! Special shout out to Shannon who served my friend and I for lunch, when my friend accidentally left his card, Shannon stepped out and brought it to him when we were walking the square. Really outstanding service, and just goes to show what kind of person she is! Service tends to be slower on busier nights, but that is to be expected.

Yelp
I visited here with two friends for brunch last Sunday. It was around lunch time. I didn't have a reservation but we were able to be seated in a timely manner. We were seated upstairs which is where the bar is located. There is also a bathroom on each floor and an elevator which I think is awesome. Our waitress Aubrey was great as it was some of our first time going to this place she helped us figure out what was the good items for brunch. Also the whole experience was good overall. The food was banging!!!!! My breakfast sandwich was so good. Everyone enjoyed their meal. No crumbs left lol. Also, the brownie was so rich and so delicious. It was a great way to end a good meal! I will definitely be back. I heard that the fried chicken is good so I can't wait to do a review

Yelp
Sat at the bar (make sure to look up at the cool ceiling) and the experience was wonderful. The decor and ambiance was fun, bright and design forward. The space of the entire restaurant is gorgeous with the second tier tables looking over the ground floor space. Service was spectacular. Negroni was perfect. The biscuits are a must, 10/10. Coleslaw was 10/10, perfectly dressed with a slightly sweet but tangy dressing. White meat fried chicken was dry and overcooked, 3/10. Seasoning wasn't quite there. Truffle Mac and cheese was decent but barely tasted any truffle, 5/10, and more like butter noodles. Hubs got the buffalo chicken burger and said was good. Tried his fries and they were great! My favorite part about the experience was their set of beautiful wooden games at the bar. We played connect 4 while sipping on drinks and it was so fun.

Yelp
Adorable place! We had a reservation and arrived early, but they seated us right away. We were placed upstairs, which was noticeably warmer than downstairs--something to keep in mind if you're sensitive to temperature. Our waitress was attentive and helpful, even answering questions about a specialty cocktail that wasn't listed on the menu. The food was decent--nothing standout, but solid overall. The ambiance and service definitely made the experience enjoyable.

Yelp
Goodfolks was highly recommended for brunch by my neighbor. Haven't had the chance to visit for brunch yet but I made it in one evening for dinner. I had the fried chicken and was really hopeful because I had been craving fried chicken. I would love to have rated it higher but it didn't meet my expectations. It tasted like the grease needed to be changed, but after taking another look at photos, mine was identical to the usual presentation. Maybe it's just an acquired taste. I'll be back to try brunch though.

Yelp
Food 10/10 - 1 of THE best Nashville chicken sandwiches we've had! Just the right amount of spice/heat. Fries were fresh and crispy. We started off with biscuits and honey butter too - oh my. A must try. Service was great. Ambiance was great - clean even the bathrooms were clean too. We will definitely be back when in the area again.

Yelp
Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Goodfolks. We know sometimes things can go awry, but to completely neglect a table for more than 25 minutes is poor practice. the appetizers were subpar. Pickles were airfried and the cheese curds were soggy as if they had been microwave. The fried chicken was almost burnt. I could give more details, but I'll refrain. We will not be back.
google avatar

Yelp
The restaurant was much bigger inside than it looked from the outside, plenty of seating and spacious enough to accommodate our larger party! The chicken sandwiches here are delicious but definitely indulgent. You won't find too many 'healthier' options here but if you're coming to a place known for their chicken and waffles, that should be expected. It's one of better restaurants out in the Georgetown Square, would recommend!

Yelp
This place has a pretty solid vibe. It's intimate in a cool spot on the square. The food is very well prepared and we had no issues whatsoever. Our server did a great job, she really made us feel taken care of. Overall good value, pretty close to my parents place so it's going to be our regular lunch/dinner spot for our get-togethers

Yelp
As for looks goes I'd say this place is right on the dot with that! Walking in you're in Awh over how aesthetically pleasing this place is. From front entrance to the upstairs dining. I felt this was a perfect place to get together with a group of friends to talk and catch up. As for service I would say it was okay. It wasn't anything special which isn't a bad thing. Food, I personally feel that the food lacks seasoning. The tenders had no flavoring. They were fried perfectly but tasted like bland chicken and you really needed to drench it in sauce to provide the flavor that it was lacking. Mashed potatoes I felt were perfectly seasoned and should have shared some of that seasoning with the chicken. The soup was soup, it was a cold day and wanted something light and it did its job. The Biscuit was very soft and warm.

Yelp
If you're up North and craving fried chicken and potatoes in multiple forms, this is the spot! Beautifully succulent chicken (recommend the bone in 1000% over the tenders) with great flavor and so dang juicy. The breading is lighter than what I typically enjoy and some of the skin was a little soft for eating, but overall, quite satisfactory. The dips are highly recommended, so I went with the ranch. Thumbs up for sure. With the four piece combo, you get two sides and two biscuits. Lemme tell ya something, these biscuits are BUTTERY. I was slightly thrown off when they didn't offer butter to go with them, but once I tried it, I realized that they channeled their inner Paula Deen with this recipe. As for sides, I chose the coleslaw which had a nice tang and was well mayo'd but without globs. Top 3 coleslaw I've had this year. The potato salad was also a winner. The dining hall has two levels with the main first floor dining area and then a lofted second floor that a pretty staircase leads directly up to. Pretty, but there were some screaming children whose war cries echoed throughout the entire space. Obviously not the staff's fault, just maybeee more of a family friendly spot than a date night place - just to set expectations for your visit. Our waitress was super accommodating and friendly. Despite having to travel up and down the flight of stairs to check on us, we never felt abandoned or forgotten. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
Service is excellent, we were well taken care of by Chloe M. The food is great; the grits are perfect and that is not easy. The ambiance in the restaurant creates an open welcoming feeling.

Yelp
We popped into Goodfolks for dinner last night (Thursday). It wasn't too busy, just a few tables. We were seated right away. Probably five tables with patrons. The decor is very cute, simple and tasteful. We noticed some of the art was actually what looked to be depictions of Georgetown buildings. I love seeing local art. The tables were a little close, we were all listening to each other's conversations. Table to the left was a bit louder and I learned a lot about their business venture (very exciting-hope it goes well)! Table to the right was the sweetest family! While it was enjoyable, I can imagine if fully seated it might be a bit harder to converse with your table. Our waiter was very personable and made recommendations as it was our first visit. The dishes we tried were: Queso and Chips Cajun Chicken Sandwich Chicken Fried NY Strip White chocolate bread pudding Strawberries and Buttermilk cake Every thing we had was freshly and well cooked. The sandwich was a great portion and good flavor. The steak was perfect! I really liked the mashed potatoes. Nice place to dine, good quality food and great service.

Yelp
Comfort food definitely. Unfortunately, the chicken and waffles I had, the chicken was overcooked and dry. The waffles were hard too. Amber was our server and she was kind and friendly. The atmosphere is old school and inviting.

Yelp
We came here with a large party for late lunch and was quickly seated. We've been here a couple times already and we always enjoy the southern and modern aesthetic feel of the restaurant. It has a great location on the square! They are known for their biscuits with hot honey and they have never disappointed! I enjoyed the tender chicken wings that is juicy but doesn't feel overwhelmingly oily. We said yes to the dessert and the key lime pie was amazing! The bread pudding was a little too thick/compact but overall we enjoyed it.
google avatar

Yelp
The menu here is great for folks with food allergies, clearly labeled and the wait staff is knowledgeable about the process and product. My wife said it's probably the best gluten free bread she has had in a long time. It's got a bit of old school diner feel to it but slightly more upscale- marble like table tops. We both ordered a chicken sandwich and all their choices can be ordered fried or grilled. Gluten free bun but ALSO a gluten free breading option if you want the fried chicken. The fries are a unique cut, sorta like a cross between a steak fry and a curly fry. They were cooked to a golden brown which I really appreciated. The food was great, service great, no complaints.

Yelp
Cute place, amazing chicken sandwiches, kind staff. Definitely a must if you are in Georgetown. Plus it is downtown which makes you feel like you traveled back in time to Texas in the 60's.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday night at around 6:45. I loved the decor and ambiance, it made me feel like I was in a diner in New York City. We had made a reservation, so we were seated promptly. We ordered the biscuits with honey butter as an appetizer, and they were to die for! For our mains, we got the salads with their signature fried chicken on top, along with truffle Mac and cheese, sweet potato fries, and corn esquites. The Mac and cheese was amazing, not too subtle or too strong, and not cloyingly heavy/rich, which was perfect. The fries were also delicious, well-seasoned and crisp. The salads were perfectly sized and the fried chicken was great! Our only complaint were the esquites. They were so salty, we couldn't eat them. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves, the service was great, and we will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Great spot on the square to enjoy brunch and some breakfast drinks! The biscuits were fabulous. We enjoy the brightness of the restaurant and the service is good. There was a decent wait but we went on a Saturday morning so to be expected!

Yelp
We loved our first time !! Bacon Jam Fried RiceService 5 stars Fried chicken 5 stars Caesar salad 5 stars Overall our first visit to Goodfolks was awesome from ambiance and decor to good food and service... the only reason I gave an overall 4 stars was for the fried rice honestly. It missed the mark but didn't ruin the meal... Honey biscuits were a great sweet start and the caesar salad was AMAZING! Love the corn and pumpkin seeds and the addition of bacon is a no brainer. Our service was great with Hannah... she made great recommendations and took attentive care of us while managing her section! 3 people, 2 starters, a few glasses of wine and 2 full meals, we spent about $125 before tip... The fried chicken was juicy and flavorful and so dang crispy... I loved this southern comfort spot and will rave about the chicken for weeks to come! We really enjoyed the sweet potato fries and the regular plus the honey sriracha sauce was our fave!! Can't wait to try brunch very soon!

Yelp
Goodfolks has quickly become a favorite restaurant of mine for delicious and affordable Southern food with great service! My husband and I stumbled into Goodfolks on a whim for dinner on a Friday night after bailing on another nearby restaurant with bad service. We are SO happy we did because we had an incredible experience from start to finish! We visited around 7:30 pm on a Friday night and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table for 2 with no reservations. FAST FACTS: * Parking - street parking available in the surrounding blocks * Reservations - available through OpenTable * Online ordering - available on their website for pickup or delivery * Closed Mondays and Tuesdays * Brunch available on Sundays from 9:00 am to 2:45 pm * Rewards system available where you earn 1 point for every $1 spent on food and receive a $10 discount for every 100 points you redeem SERVICE - Our server David was PHENOMENAL! He had a pleasant personality and took great care of us the entire time. Our food came out quickly and our drinks were consistently refilled throughout the meal. The manager even came by at one point to check on us and apologize because it was slightly warm in the restaurant. We were very impressed by the service! PRICING - The total was $64.95 after tax ($4.95) but before tip for the honey sriracha brussels sprouts ($11), honey butter biscuits ($8), Cajun chicken sandwich ($17), Nashville hot chicken sandwich ($16), side of good sauce ($0.50), side of spicy ketchup ($0.50), and small side of truffle mac & cheese ($7). For the portion size and quality of food, I thought the pricing was very reasonable! HONEY SRIRACHA BRUSSELS SPROUTS (7/10) - The honey sriracha flavor was good and not overly spicy but definitely caused the Brussels sprouts to be less crispy. I do love that $1 of every order is donated to the Williamson County Animal Shelter! I'd order these again but I'd love to try other appetizers first. HONEY BUTTER BISCUITS (8/10) - These were really good! They weren't greasy and were slightly on the drier side compared to some biscuits I've had but the overall texture was nice. You could see the lamination and layers and I love the square shape because the corners were a little crispier! We opted to dip them in the honey butter rather than pouring it on top... a little goes a long way! I'd order these again. CAJUN CHICKEN SANDWICH (9/10) - Fantastic sandwich! The brioche bun is super fluffy but stayed together the entire time. The chicken has a great crispy coating and the overall thickness was perfect. I wish it had a little more heat but it's definitely packed with flavor! It comes with a hefty portion of sidewinder fries which were cooked perfectly as well. I'd absolutely order this again! NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN SANDWICH (8/10) - Another great sandwich (although not spicy)! Just like the Cajun chicken sandwich, the bun is phenomenal and the chicken is flavorful and crispy. The slaw adds a nice element of freshness while the bread and butter pickles add some sweetness. I'd order this one again too! TRUFFLE MAC & CHEESE (8/10) - Great mac & cheese despite the truffle flavor not being super strong. The top few bites were a little dry (although the breadcrumbs on top were crispy and added a great texture) but once you dig into the cup, you get plenty of creamy cheese coating the pasta. I'd order this again. Considering I had never heard of Goodfolks, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was... honestly, it should be called "Greatfolks"! I'll absolutely be back (I want to try their brunch for sure) and will be recommending it to others!

Yelp
We walked in and immediately was pleasantly surprised with the decor. Honestly, it's a little bit of a vibe, I liked it. They suggest that you make a reservation. I'm assuming this place must be kind of popular. It was around 5 when we arrived and it was a little warm in the dining room. We asked about it and they told us it was an old building. We decided to share the 4 piece chicken meal. It comes with 2 sides and two biscuits and we found it to be pretty filling. The biscuits are good and I ordered a side of honey butter. we decided to go with the mashed potatoes and the honey kale. The kale was not my favorite. The mashed potatoes more than made up for it. We also tried the fried pickles. We were worried since it comes with a sauce with jalapeños in it. We were worried it would be spicy. It wasn't and honestly it was so good we ordered more. At some point, I noticed that other patrons were getting blended drinks. I got jealous and ordered myself one of the peach sangrias.... It was delicious. It was so good. I would come back just for that. We say quietly while we wondered if we should order more chicken or end with dessert. We went with dessert, it was a strawberry cake with a vanilla sauce and ice cream. It was the perfect ending to our meal. I plan to go back and try more the menu. The only issue I had was that I felt the temperature in the restaurant could've been cooler. I will be back to try more of the menu!

Yelp
We decided to make this our early dinner destination at 4 PM on a Tuesday. It was just us and one other customer in the place, so needless to say we had great service. It turns out that happy hour is Monday through Saturday, not W-Sat. We started off with a couple of beers and I got their four piece mixed chicken. I recommend avoiding their curled fries because I've had those same preformed previously frozen fries at other establishments and they taste cheap. They do have a very good drink menu with plenty of cocktails, craft beers and whiskeys, but not much in the way of wine. Their food menu is also quite varied, but not overly complicated and they even brought back some of their former items from the past. My fried chicken came out perfectly cooked and the coleslaw and mashed potatoes were exceptional. The two biscuits were a nice touch, but I did have to ask for butter. We did save room for their strawberry buttermilk cake which was the perfect finish. I like the fact that they drop the bill at the table as opposed to confronting you with a handheld device with those predetermined tips (no credit card fee either). I have to admit they definitely do many things well here which comes as no surprise, especially since the famous Monument Café is a block away as their main competitor. It's a place I'd come back to, just not on a busy Saturday. 10 photos included for more insight.

Yelp
I decided to take a break and grab a bite in Georgetown before tackling some errands around town. I had to wait about 30 minutes, so I decided to explore the area. I came back around 25 minutes later and checked our status, and they just seated us right away. The restaurant is pretty narrow, so there's not much space between the booth and the table. But it's two stories high, so it's not too cramped. The food was pretty good, nothing really special. The chicken was moist, which is always a plus. I've had chicken sandwiches that were dry in the past. The service was okay. The wait staff was busy checking all their tables. They do take reservations if you're interested in trying this place. Just come a bit early on the weekend to find parking.

Yelp
We came into town for Thanksgiving and my in-laws took us here. They told us Goodfolks was known for their fried chicken. We came on 11/23/25 around 12pm with a reservation and were sat upstairs to the left. First off, it took a while for our waitress to greet us; she seemed slammed though, which I get since I waited tables for 15 years in the late 90's and early 2000's . Here's the long and short.....Service was horrible; we had to ask our waitress for things 3-4 times before she remembered to bring them. My 'Merican coffee, ordered upon her greeting us, took forever to come and arrived cold when it finally came. We had to ask for water refills two times before we got them. We asked for sugar for the regular coffees my father-in-law ordered about 3 times. Food took FOREVER to arrive. Fried chicken with a side of biscuits is my favorite meal and I was not impressed at all with either. The Good Dogs and the Chicken and Biscuit soup was amazing though. Overall, my wife and I left with a less than stellar impression and will avoid letting the in-laws take us here again. I get that they were probably short staffed and the waitress was "in the weeds", but she also just seemed very forgetful. Whether it was her fault or managements fault for understaffing is neither here nor there, as it made for a bad 1st experience here.

Yelp
Your Yelper Girl here! My twin and I stopped here to eat after The Georgetown Swirl. We both ordered the 2 piece chicken tender meal with mashed potatoes. We also shared an order of Mac and cheese. The tenders were a BIT darker than we liked but still good. Everything was piping hot and yummy!! Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Fast seating..cute place... Great food. I had breakfast...biscuits were delicious. Fried chicken my husband had looked so good. They gave us a piece of bread pudding For my brothers B-Day and Im not a dessert person.... But I will definitely be going back to order it. Our server Sophia was the greatest. We can't wait to go back.

Yelp
We sat at the bar upstairs, because there was no wait time. Love that the bar is by itself upstairs which made it feel cozy. Shared three apps. Great and quick service. All three apps had a lot of flavor with a couple unique twists that sets them apart from other restaurants. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Super cute place in Georgetown. I had seen pictures of the food on OpenTable, and everything looked phenomenal. We decided to go in for lunch last week, and sadly it was just okay. The chicken tenders were flat and not very flavored. The Nashville hot honey sandwich just tasted like honey, not hot at all (and I cannot handle any spice). However, the fries, ranch and kids grilled cheese were all delicious. I had never tried these type of fries before. They were like wedges but crispier and the texture was great. Our waiter was very kind and helpful. Hostess was very welcoming and friendly. I would go back to try something else on the menu!

Yelp
I'm not from Texas but this is my 2nd time here and I definitely will be coming back. All the staff were kind and service was excellent. The food was great! My boyfriend would of liked his étouffée to have a little more of a kick of spice but that's just his preference. My salad was phenomenal; I finished everything. The truffle mac and cheese was good but not to die for.

Yelp
My husband and I come here on average once a week for the past ~4 months. The food and atmosphere is always 10/10 but the service is so hot and cold. It has become extremely frustrating. Today, we came in for brunch and had to go to the bar to ask for refills on water, we waited way longer than usual for our food to come which I understand maybe they have staffing issues but communication would have been great or a check-in while we waited for food. Our server walked right past us and made eye contact and didn't say a word about checking on our order. Then a runner brought us our food... yay! But didn't have any utensils. My husband walked downstairs and got silverware for us and requested additional sauce for my plate. Then, our server finally came with more water after about ~25 minutes of not stopping by to check in. We love this place but this has become the normal here and it is sad. We were here a few weeks ago and had a server that was fantastic, I wish I remembered his name. But other than that, it has been less than ideal service. Not sure this will be our go-to place anymore

Yelp
I really, really wanted to like this place. I met friends there for lunch. Our appetizer was good. The drinks were good. We all 3 ordered fried chicken plates and we each got a different side to we could taste them. Our fried chicken was overcooked. You could look at it and tell. We tasted it anyway. We asked the waitress to replace the chicken. She said she couldn't so we asked for the manager. The manager said that he couldn't replace our chicken because that would be too expensive ($45 worth he said (6 pieces)). He said that the new chicken would be the same because they cook it to temperature. We asked if the grease was clean and he said it was. We asked for the owner. We were told they were out of town. We asked for the phone number and they said they couldn't give that to us. My friend asked for an email. The manager left to go get the email. After that the waitress came back and stated they would cook us fresh chicken. It came out the same way. I don't know what they were doing, but they shouldn't be serving chicken that looks and smells like it was cooked it over-used grease. The sides were good (Mac n cheese, potato salad, and twisted fries). The biscuits were delicious and were homemade. The place has great decor and I liked it. I wish the manager on duty could have been a little more thoughtful. I also noticed other people who had ordered either fried chicken or tenders were not eating theirs, either. But they didn't complain. They just left it untouched, paid, and left.

Yelp
Horrible experience that could've been avoided if not for cowardice and incompetence. Was told on two separate phone calls that reservations could not be made for weekends. Okay fine. Upon arriving, I said party of 8. They said great, do you have a reservation... excuse me?? Told them no. We were told we could not make reservations for weekends, we absolutely would have. They said, no? You're not the *blank* party for 8?? I said, no I wish! Was told we couldn't do reservations again. Still put myself on the waitlist and they said it would be about an hour, hour 15. Sure. No problem. Put us down and we will walk around shopping and come back. Should work out great. Then 50 minutes into the wait time, I check open table and it stated I was TAKEN off the waitlist. WHAT?? Called, rang forever no response so walked right over (we were waiting around for this text to not waste THEIR time). They looked shocked I actually showed up and said, oh I have not idea what happened we'll just resume the wait. Then an hour and half after joining the waitlist we were sitting in a more than half EMPTY restaurant waiting. Then finally after them continuing to avoid us, a member of our party asked point blank what's going on, are they going to sit us? They said they have to push two tables together (many combos available everywhere) and that it would take a good while longer. Insane. Why waste our time if you had no intention to sit us. Just say hey, that's too big a party today, sorry. NO PROBLEM WE JUST WOULDVE EATEN SOMEWHERE AN HOUR AGO. Ridiculous and they made us seem like we were being ridiculous for expecting to get sat.

Yelp
Our server & food was great. Love the atmosphere and location. Would not recommend messing with the hostess upon check-in. Maybe she had an off morning, she wasn't welcoming, not pleasant at all. Overheard her telling the people before us that they needed to be done by 11 am. Just a little put off by her tone and was second guessing our decision to eat there. This was only after the restaurant had been open for 30 minutes. But stayed after getting another hostess who was all smiles and welcomed us as she sat us down. Overall, experience was great and will come back again.

Yelp
The service was pretty good, but they forgot to bring my last min addition of a cup of chicken & biscuit soup that I ordered as an after thought after my sister in-law ordered one. They brought hers, but not mine, so I cancelled it as we already had our appetizers and I decided I wanted to save room for my meal. They ended up finally bringing it anyway with my meal. The food we ordered was just okay. I'd been here once before and had the chicken & biscuit soup and thought it was really good, but this time it was very much sorta blah. Both my sister in-law and myself were like "we make better at home ourselves". The chicken sandwiches are huge, and were good overall.

Yelp
This bright and cheerful addition to the Georgetown square is a great weekend brunch spot. Friendly service compliments a tasty menu. The salmon toast with sweet corn was delish as was the biscuit medley starter. Other hits at the table were the breakfast sandwich and the yogurt and fruit plate. Next time I come I'm going to try the french toast which looked great at a neighbors table!

Yelp
The food is amazing - great taste and lovely set-up. I love the mezzanine floor. We had a 7.30pm booking and then when we got to ordering dessert we were told the kitchen was closed!!!! It would have been nice to have a 5 minute warning that we need to order dessert if we want it! Don't take bookings 30 minutes before you close if you don't have enough resources to allow them to experience your food.

Yelp
After an event in Georgetown, my girlfriends were a little hungry. I reassured them that if we walked to the square, we'd find some good options. Goodfolks was the second menu we looked at, and we knew they would have something for everyone. We ended up mostly getting salads and soup, and appreciated the transparency of where they sourced their food. My tomato soup was delicious! I also got their pimento cheese, which was more of a smooth cheese spread. I liked it, but the flavor was strong, and it wasn't something I wanted to finish off on my own. We ended splitting a brownie sundae, which was a little cakeier than I prefer, but still yummy! I'll definitely make a point to come back here for a proper meal next time I'm hungry in Georgetown!

Yelp
I order the bone in chicken and it was super dried and the fried andouille rice was not good flavor was not pleasant and only one piece of sausage was in my order. Biscuit was hard and dry. Over price food. I make better homemade fried chicken. I do not recommend this place. I am a food critic and this was not acceptable for my palette or should be for anyone's.

Yelp
I wanted to love this restaurant SO much based on the other reviews, but it was just average...we made reservations for a Friday night at 6 and were seated right away! It seemed relatively empty when we got there, but definitely filled up quickly. However, the table where we were sat was RIGHT in the sun setting, so for almost 90 minutes the sun was right in my eyes. There was no cover or curtain and about 3 other tables were in the line of the sun. It did not make for a great experience! I ordered the two piece friend chicken. It was average tasting, but the Mac and cheese was good. We also ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken tenders had a strange taste to them, but the waffles had a good flavor. The biscuits were probably the star of the show! This was definitely a miss for us. Maybe it's someone else's jam, but for me it was a less than desirable experience!

Yelp
My husband and I chose this place for a casual anniversary dinner, as we love walking around the square. The reservation process was easy, however, my note of requesting a more private table with good views was not only ignored, but we got sat at the worst table in the restaurant. It was in the middle of all of the landing spaces and it felt like a slight against my note. Our waiter David was friendly and welcoming, and everything was great, but service took a nosedive towards the end of our meal as they got busier. I really enjoyed the fried chicken salad, pimento cheese appetizer, and oh my, the strawberry cake dessert was to die for. Our drinks were okay, but overpriced for the size and finished product. I would like to go again for brunch and to try more menu offerings, and hopefully things will be a little better.

Yelp
Chicken is borderline burnt. Fried pickles were flavorless. Biscuit looked amazing and bland without even honey offered for it. Mashed potatoes were good, but requested side of gravy was sweet and weird.

Yelp
Stopped at "Good folks" one Sunday morning. Located in downtown Georgetown, it's quite a popular spot. If I remember correctly, this was an upscale burger joint before. The place was plenty busy. Call ahead if you have two or more in your party and reserve a booth. I noticed a few booths were reserved down stairs. We sat upstairs and "Skylar" was our server. She gave us plenty of food recommendations as this was our first time. I had the Chicken and Grits, delicious and perfectly seasoned chicken tenders over maple grits and an amazing sarrachi maple syrup. The syrup had just the right amount of heat. The maple grits were a delight. Just the perfect balance of sweetness. Now I consider myself a grits connoisseur. But I usually eat them salty with butter. Never had them sweet or with sugar. Yet I truly enjoyed this meal, and would order it again. I would invite anyone in the Georgetown area to visit this location. I would consider it an add to my list of "favorites". Come see for yourself. Michael C. - Georgetown, Tx.

Yelp
It felt too crowded and plus it's not in a decent location where people would find it right away.

Yelp
Free parking in the lot nearby or in front. The other surrounding stores don't seem to open until about 1:00PM if you are thinking of browsing and walking around. Visited goodfolks for brunch on a Saturday around 10:00. We had reservations but the place definitely had lots of tables available at that time. We were sat at this weird segregated table. It was a random table that was withdrawn from everything and near the service station. I had asked the hostess if we could go to a different table (there were several tables that were for two people that were empty--both to mention- an empty upstairs) that was a bit closer to civilization, and she said no. So we stuck it out. During our visit, someone told the hostess they had a big party (6-8 come in) and her jaw dropped and she rolled her eyes. Not very professional to show patrons. It seems like the vibes might've been the highlight..but I wouldn't know since we were in this weird area. It seemed like other people were having a good time when we saw them on our way in and out. Food was good-average. We got the Smothered Biscuit Flight, The Classic Breakfast, and The Breakfast Sandwich--which were recommended as the more popular items by our waitress. The maple sage gravy biscuit was my favorite out of the three, but my tastebuds lean more savory so not too surprising. My friend said classic breakfast was nothing special. I did not get much bacon on my sandwich but it was good; nothing to write home about but I wasn't mad. The hashbrowns and sidewinder fries were cold; hashbrowns tasting stale and sidewinder fries were as far from crispy as you can get. The best part of this experience was our waitress, Hannah, who was sweet and made sure to check in with us. Appreciate you, Hannah. Unsure if I would go through the trouble to revisit this establishment.
