Maca Macaron Shop Opens at Bow Market in Somerville | Eater Boston

"From Salem, Goodnight Fatty collaborated with Maca to create a decadent cookie combo in which raw cookies-and-cream cookie dough (eggless and heat-treated for safety) is sandwiched between macarons; that item sold out at their Salem pop-up on March 31 and is expected to be available at Maca likely on Sunday only." - Dana Hatic

Google
The cookies were amazing, amazing, amazing. We got a fresh batch of the biscotti butter cookie-something or other- December flavor- It was amazing! Food was great, staff was friendly. Five stars! Four stars because the hardly any seating & store hours were weird- we wanted to return for more but they were closed for the rest of our stay. We would have gotten cookies every night if we could have! Super delicious. Tik-tok recommended this place to us.

April Z.

Google
I got the vegan Mac & cheese with spicy beyond meat (I believe).. there is a little side of siracha mayo.. it was absolutely delicious. Also got the vegan dubai chocolate fatty. Cute place and I love that you offer vegan options.

Michele F.

Google
Cool concept, who doesn't like warm cookies with milk. They have limited options ( 3 cookie options when we visited). The flavors were unique ( Milky Way, Count Chocula, PB). They didn't have simple plain chocolate chip or sugar cookies. The cookies were average. You can purchase cookie flights! They have a cute courtyard with outside seating (tables and chairs). No vegan options available. They also serve breakfast sandwiches, that smelled great!

Ashley F.

Google
Great staff; super fun atmosphere. The cookie is just a fat cookie with a cute little design. Wouldn’t say there’s anything super special about it although it is good. Cool that they offer milk as a drink option. Very nostalgic of childhood milk and cookies and the Count Chocula cookie is “vintage” so to speak.

Google
Truly a Salem hidden gem! I always heard good things about the place so when I passed by it I knew I had to try! They have weekly flavors with a range of 3 options you can choose from, plus a salty treat When I visited they had Oreo, Twix, Dubai Chocolate and a Vegan Mac and Cheese pastry I tried the Dubai option for about $4 and it tasted soooo good!! Also the place is super cool, it has this astronaut on the wall and a phone that you can dial a number and hear movie quotes!! I got John Wick when I tried it!

Tonya R.

Google
As one who grew up loving a warm and soft cookie, this place is well worth it. Their flavors are updated every Friday. We had the Oreo, Dubi chocolate, the Twix. I bought the double - 2 of each & have no regrets. Go and enjoy each cookie!

Natasha N.

Google
Goodnight Fatty in Salem is one of my favorite weekend treats! Every week they release three new creative cookie flavors and they’re always delicious 😋 The cookies are warm, soft, and gooey in the middle! I love that the flavors are always rotating, so every visit feels fun and unique! If you love cookies, this place is absolutely a must try! 🍪✨

Kristin

Google
As soon as you walk in here you are hit with the aroma of freshly baked cookies! It smelled amazing!! But even better, the cookies tasted amazing too! They are open late, so perfect to satisfy your sweet tooth after walking around Salem all day!

Yelp
I've been eyeing Goodnight Fatty for a while now and FINALLY made the stop in for cookies. Now, I can't stop thinking about them! They have really interesting flavors and the cookies are a good size. They come out nice and warm and were soooooo good! My friend who is vegan was with me and was stoked to see they had a vegan soft serve (which she said was excellent as well). Great service, cool decor, and fabulous treats. I'll be back often!
google avatar

Yelp
My cousin shared Goodnight Fatty with us and let's just say, I am glad I don't live around the corner because it would be a problem - the cookies are amazing!! Regardless of whether you live in Salem or not, it is worth making your way over for a sweet treat. I unfortunately don't have any pictures because they are too good and we always dig right in, so you'll have to take my word for it. They have fun and unique flavors that they rotate around. They only make three flavors each time and you will find out what they are when you order or show up - you can catch an announcement on their socials too. I don't think you can really get a flavor you don't like, maybe one you wouldn't have thought of or tried otherwise but that is what is kind of cool about it. While it's a unique style, it's actually nice to not have the paradox of too many choices, and you know they are fresh and made for that night. They can get pretty busy so don't be surprised if there is a line, but they do move pretty quickly. I believe they have delivery as an option as well. Definitely recommend giving goodnight fatty a try!!
google avatar

Kaitlin H.

Yelp
Don't let the line scare you, it moves quick and these cookies aka Fatties are worth the small wait. I really enjoyed getting the flight to try each one an they all were amazing! You might not be able to decide which one was your favorite because they are that good. They are very rich but you won't make a wrong decision whatever you choose!
google avatar

Brandi K.

Yelp
I first saw Goodnight Fatty on someone's socials and it looked amazing, so when we were in Salem for the day I made sure to stop in. It was freeeezing out so ice cream was a tough decision, but we chose the chocolate and vanilla swirl and I can't remember which cookie. My hubby got the unlimited milk to go with it. So good!
google avatar

Nick S.

Yelp
Last weekend, my friends and I visited Salem. One of my friends and I stop by good night fatty, and it was delicious! I got a twisted soft ice cream cone. The ice cream just melts in my mouth and was incredible tasting. The fatty's, which were just giant stuffed chocolate chip cookies, also look delicious. I wish I had had more room in my stomach lol. Goodnight fatty is a definite must visit for anyone in the Salem area.
google avatar

Danielle V.

Yelp
Stopped in the cookie flight and it was worth it! You get 3 cookies for 12 and the flight changes constantly. Ours was good, super sweet but very tasty. You can get a side of milk to drink with your cookies. Service was quick. They have no indoor seating but some outside seating right outside their door. Worth a stop while there.
google avatar

Allen P.

Yelp
What a cool little place! The cookies were delicious and the flavors were so creative. Everyone in the place had a smile on their face and despite the line they were quick. They are also open late if you're looking for a late night snack. One warning, there are no inside tables. Everything is outside seating. Great on a warmer evening but definitely a to go place on the cooler days and nights.
google avatar

Brittany C.

Yelp
Amazing cookies! Especially after visiting the town. Every time I visit, there is a new delicious flavor. Can't pass up on the cold milk with the warm cookies!!
google avatar

Andi C.

Yelp
One of our favorite haunts to stop in when in Salem. I will say, I truly enjoyed when they were a bit hidden down an alleyway and the smell of fresh baked cookies led the way. However, I still appreciate the great service and cookies they continue to produce!
google avatar

Frances A.

Yelp
Great place to check out with free milk when you check in. You can eat outside. Service was quick. They take Cash app which is great.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
The cookies here were pretty great. There is a bit of an assembly line so by the time you order they come out hot and fresh. Love the name.
google avatar

Bronte W.

Yelp
We went for a late night cookie after walking around Salem, and the chocolate donut cookie was AMAZING. They only offer a small menu, but the quality is worth it. Service was fast and the inside is very cute and modern. You can also get some milk to go along with your cookies.
google avatar

Jen K.

Yelp
We were told to come to Goodnight Fatty by a vendor at the popup artisan market blocks away. She said this place IS A MUST, and she wasn't wrong! A Yelp check in gets you a FREE bottomless milk! Whole, 2%, or soy. They have a few flavor options of fatties(cookies) but the REAL choice is: do I order just one? Or the sampler (3 flavors of the day)? The do NOT post their menu online. You just gotta go in. I like that, especially in this day ands age where every bit of information is offered. I like a little mystery... Their video playing on their counter front is triiiiiiiiiippy! Kids love it too. We went around 5pm when it was a short line but we heard that they get JAM PACKED. Go get yourself a fatty sampler!
google avatar

Susan N.

Yelp
My friend and I were visiting Salem and this place was suggested to us. $12 for a flight of 3 cookies was not too bad and can definitely be shared. My favorite one was the Halloween funfetti one. The other 2 were nothing special.
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Cookies are delicious and the vibes are fun. If you need something sweet and some unique flavors this is a good stop. The lemon poppy was my favorite. The line looked long, but it went fast.
google avatar

Gloria L.

Yelp
Wow, these cookies are definitely worth trying if you're in Salem! They only have certain flavors each day and they are definitely made fresh to order because the smell of the cookies just permeates once you walk inside this shop. But these cookies were great and they were also huge! I love the unique flavors they had and thought they were all really good in the three pack we got.
google avatar

Dasha E.

Yelp
Oh no. What a disappointment. Prior to our trip I selected various places to visit and this was on the list. I definitely expected so much more. We didn't realize that there were only three types of cookies, I wish there was more variety and different types of textures. We ordered the Boston and the blueberry cookies. I also ordered coffee with some kind of special cream that they make. Guys please if you are reading this review, please invest in an espresso machine and make lattes/cappuccinos!! That coffee that you serve is absolutely horrendous. It was thrown out after a sip. Cookies were not up to par. The texture was off and the tastes were incohesive. It was very much a disappointment. They have such potential. The space is gorgeous. The decor is out of this world literally and the outdoor seating is so cool. The owners can do so much with this shop. If they change it up a bit we may visit once again, but if not, goodbye fatty.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
Really good vegan soft serve which was a first for me! I unfortunately didn't try the cookies and they weren't advertised to me either. I found out much later that they're known for them and I am disappointed I didn't get to try them. It was my first time their and I just needed a little guidance. But the soft serve was awesome, and yelpers there is a check in offer here!
google avatar

Daniel R.

Yelp
The name kinda took me aback, but hey the deserts are really great! I'd say they might even be a bit too overboard and sugary (for me anyways) but that's probably part of the whole gimmick. Really great little patio outside to eat in and it's in a very good location right next to the park.
google avatar

Jen A.

Yelp
Yummy cookies. Great for a late night treat. Check in to get a free bottomless milk! You will need it!!
google avatar

Mayan R.

Yelp
We love these cookies we travel all away from Florida just to try them . I recommend them

Yelp
This is MUST stop in Salem. Cookies.. and Milk on a super cold day what else could you want :) Parking: There is metered parking and large public parking lots around the cookie shop. Quality of Food: The cookie shop has three cookies they make each day. They are making them on the spot so it's pretty cool to see. Service: The staff were very nice and explained the menu to us. They made sure that we knew about all the types of cookies available and we were satisified about how they taste.
google avatar

Demetri P.

Yelp
Cool little shop! Cookies were on point and even better the next day! Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Peter K.

Yelp
Good cookie and ice cream spot. A little pricey but that is what happens at a desert place in a touristy town.

Yelp
Title: No Magic Zone - Fattys, Where Cookies Are Just Cookies Step into Fattys, a cookie haven with a twist of nostalgia and a unique lineup of thicc, freshly baked treats served straight out of the oven. However, if you're expecting an enchanting, magical experience, you might be in for a disappointment. My recent visit to Fattys left me with mixed feelings. The cookies, or "Fatties" as they call them, were indeed generously sized and made with what seemed to be quality ingredients. The promise of a new lineup of flavors every weekend was intriguing, but unfortunately, the taste didn't live up to the excitement. My wife and I opted for two different flavors, hoping for a delightful surprise. While they were enjoyable, they lacked that extraordinary factor that one might expect from a place with such a quirky name and rotating menu. The "Fatties" were just cookies - no more, no less. The biggest downside of our visit was the price. The bill for two small cups of twist ice cream and two cookies amounted to a staggering $25. For what we received, it was undeniably overpriced. It felt like we were paying for the novelty and the cool setup rather than the taste experience itself. Speaking of which, the ambiance at Fattys was undoubtedly trendy, and the location was prime, attracting a constant stream of customers. The place was always bustling with activity, creating a vibrant atmosphere that added to its charm. However, if you're on the hunt for something truly magical or exceptional, Fattys might not be your ideal destination. It's a cozy spot to indulge in decent cookies and a twist of nostalgia, but don't expect a culinary wizardry that will leave you spellbound. In summary, Fattys has its strengths - the impressive cookie size, the rotating lineup, and a trendy ambiance - but it falls short in delivering the enchanting, magical experience that some might hope for. For those seeking a unique cookie adventure without the expectation of extraordinary flavors, Fattys might be worth a visit. Just be prepared for the premium price tag and remember that, here, cookies are simply cookies.

Taylor A.

Yelp
Such a cute concept with delicious cookies! Love the name too! We couldn't stop smiling or laughing about it. Service was fast.
google avatar

Jordan M.

Yelp
Sooooooo yummy. Great cookies; somehow they made an indulgent cookie that is not too sweet and not too big. It is just right. They put crumble cookies to shame! Friendly staff who clearly loved the cookies as much as we did.
google avatar

Eden H.

Yelp
In downtown Salem you'll find a great cookie spot called, Good night fatty. They're only open three days a week (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) but it's totally worth it to check them out. Each week they have a different selection of cookies and you can buy them individually, in a three pack or in a six pack. I went with my friend and we got a six pack of the cookies of the week and they packed them up so quickly and they were still warm! Each cookie was so delicious and unique from each other. I'm so glad we got at least one of each to try. I would 100% suggest going here and getting yourself some yummy cookies!
google avatar

Tisha R.

Yelp
The customer service is very friendly! The line was long, but it moved very quickly. I loved the outdoor seating. Best of all these cookies are served warm and they are incredible! The tall glass of cold, almond milk was perfect. I highly recommend! Even if there's a long line just wait. Definitely worth it.
google avatar

Sharlene P.

Yelp
THEE best!! We stopped by after our visit to the Witch Museum and this gem is located across the street. We tried the Milky Way cookie with vanilla soft serve. FRICKIN delicious, the cookie was baked to perfection, warm and paired nicely with the ice cream. We also got the Carrot Cake, also FRICKIN delicious and baked to perfection. The center was filled with a nice dollop of vanilla frosting and tasted just like a slice of carrot cake. We devoured them and unfortunately didn't snap a photo. Big shoutout to Dylan and Amanda for the great service!!:) 10/10 highly recommend!!
google avatar

Judy A.

Yelp
Late night warm gooey soft cookies and a ice cold glass of milk. Place your order and then watch the magic of making your cookies! Listen for your name to be called and then enjoy! Customer service was A+. Looking forward to our next visit.
google avatar

Kaitlin W.

Yelp
You walk in and order your fatties or soft serve and they offer milk. You get to watch them make everything. It's a really cool place with a space theme. Definitely recommend 10/10
google avatar

Celina Y.

Yelp
Drove up from Boston to try this place out finally! Eat the cookies while they're still warm and make sure to get some milk to wash it down! Once the cookies cool they get pretty hard in my opinion. The cookies live up to their name and are nice and thick. I love the texture of them and the differing flavors every week make it even more fun to try out! Worth checking out if you're near the area
google avatar

Brian K.

Yelp
Funny name, great cookies. Not sure if the name makes me feel good about eating them, but we got over it. The cookies are serious fatties. Nice and think, definitely taste fresh although I don't know if they are. They ran out of milk, and I really wished about halfway through a cookie that I had it. Even so, still a 5 star because the cookies are so good and it actually feels like a Salem experience. Ton of people in line but the line went fast. Not a lot open at night, so looks like everyone comes here. We had the milky way, snickers and kit kat fatties, all good.
google avatar

Nick G.

Yelp
Cool low key late night cookie spot in Salem. I feel as if no one knows about this place (which is a good thing). Line was long but goes by super fast because it is cookies they are making. Staff was very friendly. Looks cool and cosmic inside. Ended up ordering the 100 Grand Fatty. And some chocolatey fatty. Both tasted absolutely delicious. Soft on the inside, melted with goodness. Highly recommended
google avatar

Shannon P.

Yelp
I had walked over 10K steps that day and sweating. Just the right condition to stop by this yummy dessert place. I opened the front door and wham! Wafts of delicious smelling cookies hit my nose. Without much ado, I ordered a warm, gooey, fresh from the oven dark chocolate cookie with a glass of cold milk. It came out to be about $6. So yummy. I think this place's cookies might be a strong contender for Levain.
google avatar

Harry S.

Yelp
This is a very cool dessert spot. There is an emphasis on baked goods but we got the soft serve. It was my first time having vegan ice cream and it was really good. There was also a nice area outside to play corn hole, jenga, etc.
google avatar

Caroline P.

Yelp
Milk and cookies were top tier. The greatest snack on a rainy day. Happy witching Salem!
google avatar

Abigail R.

Yelp
To start off, Fatty's is such a great little corner tucked away. It's bright, it's retro, it's such a fun contrast to everything happening in Salem. Then! The cookies, the Fatties, are some of the best cookies I have ever put in my mouth. They have fun flavors, great textures, and vegan options. Pair that with ice cream and you have heaven in a bowl. The staff is quick and kind, if you have a sweet tooth in Salem, come get your fatty.
google avatar

Rebecca E.

Yelp
Goodnight Fatty was such a blessing to find in the mist of our Salem adventure. Yes there was a line and we had to wait. But these cookies were so worth it. Fresh cookies dressed with delicious flavors and toppings right in-front if you. And I loved how they offered milk to make the perfect late night snack. Inside decor was really cool too. Appreciated the outdoor seating even though it was chilly. We enjoyed Goodnight Fatty and will definitely return in future trips.

Brooke S.

Yelp
Good end to a Salem night! Warm cookie and a cool breeze on the patio! Staff was great.
google avatar

Alexa L.

Yelp
this cookie shop's name is quite fitting b/c these are some fat lil stuffed cookies!! This hip neon haunt can be found in the center of town, and is only open at spoooooky times (aka night, so plan ahead)! Goodnight Fatty, Salem MA The flavors of the night was were: Fruity Pebbles Fattie - vanilla cookie dough with white chocolate chips and fruity pebbles cereal Midnight Fattie - chocolate dough, pecans, chocolate chips, heath toffee, and salted caramel chips Oreo Fattie - Oreo pudding dough, chocolate chips, and smashed oreos

Lindsay P.

Yelp
Had two fatties and a soft serve. The cookies were warm and gooey. The soft serve was delicious!
google avatar

Jen T.

Yelp
the cookies & soft serve were delicious!! I enjoyed it while walking around the Salem Common for a late night snack
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
I'm glad there was something open late and it was a vibe! Smelled so good walking in... just warm yummy-ness from the outside freezing cold. Thanks guys

Terese B.

Yelp
The best cookie I have ever eaten. I wish we had them in Florida or shipped to Florida

Yelp
5 Stars are not enough! My family and I recently discovered this Gem 1.5 months ago, and we visit Salem at least twice a month (we live in Boston) for the past 8 years or so. We are dumbfounded as to why this place doesn't have a line stretching around the corner for their delicious items! If they had a location in Boston's South End neighborhood, without a doubt, that would certainly be the case. I witness on a daily basis here in Boston, long lines for establishments that are not half as good as what Fatty's turns out. We are enthusiasts for their Breakfast "Savory" and "Sweet", and their location is now our 1st Stop anytime we visit Salem. We've eaten here 3 times in the past month and this place is consistant with truning out mouth watering items to enjoy on your own to share with friends and family. We can not recommend this place highly enough!

Jeff J.

Yelp
These cookies are to die for. Used to live and salem and this place is now a staple on the north shore. Highly recommended
google avatar

Bailee P.

Yelp
WOW. This place is as good as they say it is! We went right when it opened and it wasn't too busy. But the line got long. They have such a good system where they get people in and out. The cookie was sooo good and warm and smooshy!! Delicious.
