New Healdsburg Restaurant Goodnight’s Prime Steak + Spirits Opens on Friday, August 4 - Eater SF

"For chef David Lawrence, steakhouses are soaked in nostalgia. Lawrence grew up in London, where his father worked at a number of steakhouses including Berni Steakhouse and the Village Inn, and it is among the first style of restaurants the younger Lawrence later worked at. He’s since held jobs at renowned restaurants including Michelin-starred Le Gavroche with the Roux brothers. He later moved to the States, working at 231 Ellsworth and the Carnelian Room before opening 1300 Fillmore and Black Bark BBQ in San Francisco. Now, Lawrence is returning to his steakhouse roots, leading the kitchen at the new Healdsburg restaurant Goodnight’s Prime Steak + Spirits." - Dianne de Guzman

This was our second visit and we were not disappointed!! Exceptional service, food and cocktails. We sat at the chefs table and enjoyed watching the kitchen careful preparation of each entree. The bone in ribeye is our fav and it has been cooked to perfection each time. Thank you Chef David we look forward to our next visit.

My thoughts. An exceptional dining experience awaits, and must-visit for true steak connoisseurs. Tender, juicy perfection, impeccably presented with a curated flavor palette. Each dish is prepared to perfection, tailored to your liking. The head chef personally ensures guest satisfaction, by greeting each table and checking on both the experience and food quality, making it an absolute delight. Real good!

We recently had an unfortunate experience of dining here and it completely failed to meet our expectations, despite how excited we were to try it. First, they didn't honor our reservation, despite having made it days in advance. Waited 30min to be seated, and the host staff was incredibly rude. After being seated, we were subjected to an incredibly long wait for food, and there was hardly any follow-up from the staff or explanation from our server on why it was taking so long. Our server seemed irritated when we flagged him down and asked for more drinks while we waited. Very dismissive and unprofessional. Thankfully we also brought our own bottle of wine. When the food finally arrived 2 hours after being seated, even the salad that we wanted to order they didn't have and substituted for a pile of lettuce for 21 dollars. It didn't even come close to justifying the price. For what we paid, the whole experience was disappointing, to say the least. While they did try to make up for it comping a few items, we still felt our experience was not worth the high price. A disappointing experience all around, and I can't imagine recommending or coming back. We understand it was restaurant week, however a restaurant at this caliber should be better prepared.

Wow what a fantastic dinner. The whole staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming. We started off with some amazing appetizers and small plates, the tuna and mushrooms were delicious. The star of the show was the Tomahawk, definitely enough for two and was done perfectly. Highly recommend the special salts and sauces they offer, they elevated the steak to perfection. We came to celebrate a birthday and Chef David and team truly made it a special occasion. Thank you!

Google
The best prime rib I've had in my life, and great atmosphere and vibe to the place. Everything from the lighting to the walls is beautifully designed, and the other food options like the sides are great too (asparagus, hand-cut fries with best homemade tomato sauce I've ever had, and more). Add that it's on the Healdsburg square, so you couldn't pick a better location for a stroll before/after!

Google
Celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Jake G. was our server, and he was first class all the way! We told him exactly what we wanted, take our time have a cocktail, decide our appetizers, decide on dinner and he delivered. It was so much fun to relax and dine! This was our second visit and we will be back. Ceviche, Ahi Tartare were so fresh! All had rib eye steaks that were cooked to perfection. Thanks Chef!

We had a party of 15 tonight and I can’t say enough great things about this place. The appetizers , entrées and the dessert were just amazing If you haven’t tried this place out you must go.

Google
We had dinner tonight for Sonoma County restaurant week Our dinner lasted 3 hours. Service was SLOW!!! Our Steak Diane was cool. The server apologized for the slow service but there was no explanation. I would think for restaurant week you would try to show your best service. It seems that if we were not ordering the $80 dollar steak we are not worthy of good service! We were disappointed with our visit!

Yelp
Savoring the Wild West, one sip and bite at a time at Goodnights Prime Steak+Spirits. As you enter, the western charm and hospitality greets you, while the decor sets the perfect ambiance for an unforgettable dining experience. Our server, Ashleigh, was not just a delight; she was our artful liquid chef! She created handcrafted cocktails that tantalized the taste buds! We ordered- "This Ain't Texas," a refreshing custom coconut margarita, an enticing Uncle Nearest whiskey flight, and a (Ashleigh) custom whiskey flight. And...let me tell you, the selection of bourbons and the wonderful wine list left us all wide-eyed and impressed. Those cocktails and drinks were downright superb! Starters--- we ordered crispy fries and refreshing gem salads, perfect to share 'round the table. For my main dish, I couldn't resist the perfectly cooked ribeye paired with velvety potato puree that practically melted in my mouth. Others in our group enjoyed the evening's special, featuring a delightful roasted butternut squash soup, tender steak tartare, the classic steak Diane, and a fried caramel bread pudding that would make the toughest cowboy shed a tear. And... while I was riding solo for dessert, I couldn't pass up the rich chocolate cake and peanut butter-a perfect combination. Staff: Excellent service.

Yelp
Goodnight's Prime Steak & Spirits, located in the heart of downtown Healdsburg is a Western-style steakhouse. I enjoyed appetizers during my visit and started with the Parker House Rolls, served warm with a flavorful cultured honey butter, which was absolutely delicious! The Crispy Maitake Mushrooms with avocado chimichurri brought a perfect balance of crunch and flavor. And last but not least I had the 5 Cheese Mac & Cheese with Lobster, it's a must-try! For cocktails, I enjoyed the That Don't Impress Me Much, a delightful mix of High Ground Vodka, Cointreau, lemon, simple syrup, Rodney Strong Rosé, and a sugar rim. It was beautifully balanced and very refreshing. The staff was very welcoming and attentive throughout my visit. The waitress made many recommendations for appetizers and drinks and was very knowledgeable about the entire menu. The open kitchen adds a dynamic energy to the ambiance, making you feel part of the culinary experience. This is a great spot for a date night, celebration with friends, or a perfect start to an evening out with happy hour!

Yelp
I had my eye on this steak house since they announced their opening! Goodnight's sets a perfect upscale vibe with thoughtfully crafted decor that transports you to the Old West when you walk in. Whether you're a steak lover or just looking for somewhere to splurge a bit, Goodnight's is a must-try. 10/10. Everything from the food to the ambiance to the service makes Goodnight's a standout in downtown Healdsburg.

Yelp
This place is our new favorite steak place in town! My friend and I visited on Thursday during restaurant week and everything was delicious, there was a bit of wait but we totally understand due to restaurant week and Prime Rib Thursday! Umami in steak Diane burst in your mount and it's so tender! I booked my husband and I a dinner in neighboring Restaurant but he would rather go to Goodnight's instead so I came back again today for another delicious dinner except this time I ordered salmon. Unfortunately the salmon was lacking flavor and it was swimming in some kind of milky sauce (why?). Jason (the best ever) the manager saw me not eating my food and insisted on replacing it with steak diane. Customer service in this place is just phenomenal. We will be back for Prime Rib Thursday soon!! I can't recommend this place enough!!

Yelp
This is one of our family favorite spots to go to when we make our way to Healdsburg. Located conveniently around the square, Goodnights was a wonderful addition to the area to convince us to drive up more often. For all the times we have been to this restaurant, we have only been seated upstairs. We have immensely appreciated this as it has always been accommodating to my requests for us to be seated conveniently for my grandfather who is in a wheelchair to be able to get around as well as to be seated away from drafts from the door that would annoy my grandparents. The space has always looked clean and warm. When it comes to food, we normally do everything family style where we order a bunch of food and just have everyone share. For the most part, we've found that the prices here are a bit steep but the quality of the food seems to justify the price a little. For appetizers, we've mainly tried the maitake mushrooms and the parker house rolls. The rolls were nice but nothing like the ones you can find at Della Fattoria. As for the Maitake mushrooms, they're thickly battered and lacking in flavor so I'd skip out on it when I return. As for entrees, we always split one bone-in ribeye, their halibut (?), and a few sides. More often than not, this is too much food for five or six of us and we end up taking leftovers home. The steak is always perfectly cooked and delicious. When it comes to the halibut, the fish itself is incredible but the parsnip puree that it comes with started a three month craving for it. Great choices when it comes to entrees! As for desserts, we've had the banana split cup, the baklava, and the sorbet. If they ever bring it back, the banana split was a favorite in our household. The top dessert in our book however would have been the lychee sorbet. It was odd to hear that they would have this flavor but it was mindblowing and tasty. Overall, if you're on a budget, this may not be your spot. If you're looking for a special place for a special occasion where you're willing to spend a little more, this is a wonderful choice to come to.

Yelp
My husband and I came on our anniversary. I will say I think it's the best steak I've had in Sonoma County. They offer different salts and sauces, all good but you really don't need it because the steak was that good. We shared the potato puree and a crisp for dessert. Forgot to mention that we got complimentary chachampagne because of our ananniversary . Service was great.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best restaurants I have been to in a while. The service was phenomenal, starting with the guy at the front calling me by name once I told him my reservation time. After I was seated he asked for the other guests name so he could refer to them by name once they arrived. My friend dropped her fork on the floor and within less than a minute the server brought out a new fork. The food was also great. Coming from someone who typically doesn't eat steak, I have zero complaints about the A5 Waygu. The sides are also large enough for 2-3 ppl to share. The service and food are well worth the price.

Yelp
Couldn't tell you a thing about their food. Had a reservation at 7 and at 7:45, walked out. I can understand a 10 - 15 minute wait. But to wait 45 min, after making a reservation 2 weeks on advance for my birthday.... I'll give another restaurant a chance to get my $300 dollars But again I can't judge their food, just their service.

Yelp
I love steakhouses and was delighted to see Goodnight's when looking for dinner reservations to fill a weekend in Healdsburg. My gf and I were seated along the wall near the kitchen. It was enjoyable watching the chef and staff prepare all the delicious food and seeing the well oiled machine in action. The ambiance is lively and jovial and has a more of a modernized steakhouse atmosphere with dark wood colors, various textures and chic lighting. I loved the tufted seating in the booths although not seated there. We started out with a couple of perfectly mixed artisan cocktails before dinner- an Old Fashioned and a "That Don't Impress Me Much". Our server was very attentive and friendly and even the manager stopped by to chat. Dinner was excellent. The little gem salad was fresh, crunchy and with a light dressing. They didn't have any baked potatoes left. So we decided on the hearty pureed Yukon gold potatoes- definitely comfort food. The main attraction was the 16 oz dry aged ribeye with our chosen chimichurri sauce. We enjoyed ourselves so much for dinner and returned a second time the next evening for nightcaps and a bite of the fried Maitake Mushrooms which was a perfect app with drinks (on the heavier side). I was able to try their amazing baked potato also! Loved it! We thoroughly experienced Goodnight's in one weekend visiting the main dining room and bar upstairs the next evening. Such a satisfying experience! I shall be back!

Yelp
We had such a good time at Goodnight's! I booked it for my fiancé's birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. From the detailed western decor, to the friendly staff, to the ambiance, it was all fabulous! The hostess brought a birthday card for my fiancé to our table that was signed by the whole staff. It was such a thoughtful touch to the evening and one we'll remember! Our waitress, Katie, was great, and we got a warm welcome by all of the staff. The steaks were fabulous and we'll certainly be back!

Yelp
Came for Restaurant Week. They should be embarrassed for what they offered. Basic salad with two small pieces of goat cheese and cold soup. Main course, small amount of steak in an unflavored watered down sauce. The most filling part was dessert and it wasn't even that great. The fact that they regularly charge $70 for all of that is absurd. Service was ridiculously slow. Spent over an hour and a half there and couldn't get out quick enough. Needless to say, I won't go back again. Not worth the price.

Yelp
This was a great restaurant. The atmosphere was a very country/Texas vibe and the food was very good. The service was exceptional. The only negative was it was pretty pricey. I wouldn't go there often, but would go back on special occasions. The tomahawk steak was delicious and the bread was ridiculously good!

Yelp
This new steakhouse in downtown Healdsburg calls themselves "western style." The decor is impeccable - from a glass sided elevator, to fake rifles on a chandelier, to a bench seating waiting area, to a swanky upstairs bar, to surprisingly comfortable bar chairs. They offer steaks, of course, but also an incredible cocktail menu with a focus on bourbons and wine. Surprisingly for a steakhouse, there are also a number of delicious vegetarian options! My family took over the downstairs bar seating for a wonderful dinner out. It's actually an incredible place to sit as you get to see the chefs preparing each item, from head chef David Lawrence ensuring each steak is cooked to perfection, to the soup being poured, to them trying out new menu items. They are a friendly group and are willing to chat with you about their process. Our waitress and bartender Ashleigh did a great job. I got to try a number of menu items, sharing with my family, so I can personally recommend the rolls, crispy maitake mushrooms (like calamari but vegetarian! delicious chimichurri!), butternut squash (perfect for fall), little gem salad, the housemade pasta (so much umami), and the mashed potatoes. Folks in my party also tried and liked the tartare, ribeye steak, and fries. I got a mocktail and our party tried their margaritas and martinis and enjoyed it all. The espresso martini stood out as particularly delicious. The prices here are quite upscale. I think the food is worth it, but it's certainly a place you only visit for a special night out every once in a while unless you're loaded with cash. The only price I couldn't justify was charging for salt, when you're paying up to $200 for a steak they should just give you the specialty salt, in my opinion. Overall, the vibes were great, and everything was absolutely delicious, there was nothing we could complain about or nitpick when it comes to taste and flavor!

Yelp
Took my daughter after a day of wine tasting. We shared the 16oz ribeye cooked perfectly with the Potato Purée (aka mashed potatoes ). She had a cocktail while the bartender made me a lemon mock tail to enjoy with her. No room for dessert as the food was so good. Some complementary bread and butter would have been nice but is extra cost on the menu. Service was wonderful. Everyone was polite, quick and kept checking on us. I would go again but is pretty pricey so only for special occasions.

Yelp
My wife and I celebrated our 12th anniversary at Goodnight, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The manager was fantastic; he presented us with a horseshoe for good luck in the years ahead and a heartfelt card signed by the entire team. Ashleigh was exceptional--always attentive and cheerful. Goodnight is undoubtedly one of the finest steakhouses in Sonoma County. We had such a wonderful experience that we couldn't resist booking another reservation for Valentine's Day. Thank you, Goodnight staff, for your impeccable hospitality!

Yelp
Party of 15 tonight and the food was great. Service was impeccable and attentive. It just couldn't have gone any better. If you haven't tried this restaurant yet you must go.

Yelp
Goodnight's is a new steakhouse in town and we were excited to secure a reservation for date night. It has a chic and sleek vibe; walking in we felt transported to somewhere else. Service was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We enjoyed everything we ordered: -little gem salad - we needed to order this deconstructed for a dietary restriction which made it a little less visually appealing, but it still tasted good and the staff were happy to oblige -crispy mushrooms - salty, savory, umami - surprisingly not greasy and healthier (I think!) than French fries; came with a tasty chimichurri dipping sauce -delicata squash with ricotta - cozy fall deliciousness! gave me all the Thanksgiving vibes! -Park House rolls - warm and fresh from the oven with a soft whipped butter - 6 rolls is more than we needed for 2 of us, but we took home what we didn't finish -filet for him - cooked medium-rare as ordered, with a delicious bearnaise sauce and pink himalayan finishing salt -tuna tartare for me - fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented We ordered a lot, and a lot of salty elements, so made sure to hydrate too! I also enjoyed a French brut rosé. The wine list includes a mix of local and imported options. After dinner we took a quick tour through the building. The main floor has tables along the right wall and an open show kitchen with bar dining on the left. The back has some larger booths. Upstairs has more tables up front, and a drinks bar tucked in the back. Next time we'll try one of their craft cocktails. We appreciate having a new dining option in town, and I like that they have non-meat options.

Yelp
I simply cannot say enough about Ashley the bartender! She is the most knowledgeable, talented bartender we have ever encountered. Go for happy hour and enjoy great prices, fantastic service and the best mixed drinks

Yelp
First time visit to this lovely establishment for date night. While the prices are standard healdsburg steakhouse prices, the portions are decent and we shared a steak, rolls, salad, baked potato, and asparagus and had plenty of left overs. Cocktails were delicious and Jason was the consummate sommelier. We shared our wine likes and price points and Jason recommended a beautiful blend that served the meal and our pallets with perfection. Our server, Carlos, was friendly, sweet and checked in often. We were able to get to know him for a couple minutes at the end of the night and that sort of family service is why we'll be back. Last but not least, Chef David popped over to check to see how we enjoyed the meal and, long story short, my husband the banker is trying his hand as an ammeter pastry chef! Lol!!!! Thanks everyone for a lovely dinner and your friendly conversation. We'll see you soon!

Karen L.

Yelp
What a wonderful evening from great waiters to the chef to the food to the ambiance; it was perfect! We will definitely go again next time we're in town!

Yelp
For 6 people our bill was $1200. We did have drinks. Two of us got the wrong meals, service was ok, steaks were good but overall it wasn't a 5 star meal, but I would give it a 4 out of 5.

Yelp
FISHY TASTE AND SMELL IN MY STEAK... My boyfriend and I came here on Valentines Day and had a pretty good experience until we received our main course. I got a sirloin steak and immediately noticed that it had a fishy smell to it. I tried to tell myself it must have been something else and continued to try it only for it taste fishy. It was so bad I couldn't take more than a few bites. My boyfriend tried it as well and agreed it tasted like fish. This was pretty disappointing considering the price of this restaurant. Our appetizers and drinks were pretty good and we were fairly happy with our overall experience up until receiving our main course. Not sure that this place is worth the price. Pretty disappointing, as we were really wanting to like this place!

Yelp
5 stars - ribeye - perfectly cooked and a great char 5 stars - Parker house rolls, so good 5 stars - fries, these are some of the best fries I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside. 4 stars - burrata, nice and fresh 5 stars - service, our waiter brought us all the salts and sauces even though we only had 2 steaks. Also my friend emailed and they gave her a recipe she asked for. So nice!

Yelp
Service was very good and the meat was cooked as ordered. Loved the drinks too. We ate here before walking to the Raven for a show.

Yelp
I ordered the filet and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly! I am very picky with how I like my steak cooked and they nailed it. I loved that we were able to watch them cook the steak on the grill. The fries were amazing as well! Loved the atmosphere and design of the building. Our server was amazing and we met the owner who was super friendly. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
We went here for our 22 year anniversary!! Yes it's true and I chose this place because of Mary V's review and because of Paul W's review. The place wasn't too busy when we got there at 6:45 pm but busy enough for a Tuesday night!! We were seated towards the back next to the wine cellar. I don't remember the waiter's name but I remember the host saying it was Marco maybe that was going to wait on us and he did a great job! He first brought a half glass of sparkling wine for us as compliments of the restaurant. It is Banshee sparkling and we loved it! I then ordered a couple drinks for us, Mike had a Basil Hayden Manny with added cherry juice on the rocks and then I ordered a very dry gin martini on the rocks. Both were delicious well made cocktails. We then started with the AHI TUNA TARTARE $28 avocado / sesame seed tuiles / whiskey barrel aged shoyu / capers / preserve lemons! Then I ordered a glass of Chateau St. Jeans Cinq ce page for $32/glass and soon after that ordered a bottle of Roth Napa Cabernet for just $50/bottle!! Wow such a crazy price difference!! Then we ordered and ate I got the Waygu Sirloin of 6oz and $70 and Mike ordered the 16oz Ribeye at $65 bucks also both were exquisite steaks. The wine was perfect pairing for the entree steaks a lot of Blueberry and Black Cherry where as the glass was very much Blackberry jam and Bramble. We then finished the meal with 2 glasses of dessert wine a Sauternes from Chateau Suderiut and a glass of Kracker 'Beerenauslese' from Austria both were on point with sweet matched with acidity which makes it appear less sweet! The bill was $350 plus 20% tip makes for an amazing expensive experience!! Truly exquisite!!

Yelp
We had the most wonderful experience getting drinks at Goodnight's last night. Not only was the decor beautiful, but the staff was incredibly attentive and the drinks were fantastic! We sat down and I was a little cold so I put my sweater on, and the owner had noticed and came to our seats to let us know he turned the thermostat up a couple degrees. So unbelievably kind, I wouldn't have expected that at all. Our drinks were so delicious too, we can't wait to come again for dinner. Definitely check this restaurant out for drinks in Downtown Healdsburg!
google avatar

Yelp
Goodnight's to me, is the pinnacle of outstanding when it comes to Steak Houses. Every time I make a reservation I look forward to it. The atmosphere is North Dakota meets California, with its light fixtures made up of of 30 odd 6 rifles, and it's beautiful booths in the back. I can guarantee for others who have not been here, it will be a memorable experience.
google avatar

Clarissa Y.

Yelp
EVERYTHING WAS SO SALTY!! 6/7 courses. I felt like I may have been too picky at first, but everything was drenched in salt. Also plates looked lack luster. The vibe is great and cool elevator to go up. But I won't be back unfortunately.

SR F.

Yelp
We received fantastic service from the manager and server tonight. The dry-aged ribeye was cooked to perfection and the chimichurri was incredible. Birthday dinner was a success!

Yelp
Over all I give this place a 4. I didn't get to picture as much as I would of. My steak was med rareeee. Vs med well. I wasn't happy but ate around it. The cut was good. I had a filet mignon. My son had the A5 Wagyu and he loved that. My husband hand the halibut was good too. Definetley recommend just making sure your meat is cooked at your liking. Service could have been a tad bit better but overall 8/10.

Yelp
This is probably the best steak restaurant in Sonoma County. Everything the came to the table was amazing, it was absolutely incredible. I came with my parents for my mother's birthday and they treated us very well. The staff were very attentive and friendly. They made our night unlike any other. I very much recommend this restaurant, the ambiance, food and wine was excellent. If you come, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Made a last minute reservation to good nights and thankfully they had space. My wonderful cousin greeted me at the hostess stand and shown me to my table. The waitress was very friendly, kind and knowledgeable. The food was excellent and the staff was so polite and very attentive. The atmosphere was very calm and relaxing. The restaurant was also very clean and polished. This restaurant is definitely worth 5 stars.

Yelp
My second visit - only as I wanted to give this place a true fair chance following its initial opening - but gosh was that a mistake. Second visit was worse than the first. In summary, Goodnight's is wildly overpriced with mediocre food and bizarre service that has become typical of the Foley restaurants and tasting rooms across Healdsburg. The team that work here are overtly miserable, and that shows up in all aspects of the experience - the food, the service, the bussing. The Parker House Rolls are the only dependable food highlight. Our bone-in tomahawk steak ($200 for two to share) was overcooked, and its presentation was such that it looked hacked apart versus sliced. No one came by to even check, only to keep asking if "we were done". Even though this is a steak cut for two people, you only get one sauce and one salt - you'll be charged for an extra sauce, which makes zero sense for an entree at this price point and caliber. Our side of spinach was lukewarm and greasy, definitely not worth the $15 price point. The Peking Duck has an interesting presentation, but was also served undercooked and cold - it had the flavor of a cheap sausage, with a cloying and overly sweet sauce. The biggest challenge by far of the night was the diner style service. I don't think I've ever seen such a mess in a high end restaurant. Staff were snapping and arguing with each other next to our table throughout our meal. One staff member said to another "it's not my f-cking job. It's not my f-cking job". One complained about having to "take s-it over to Chalkboard" (a sister restaurant). Another argued about having to polish silverware because a busser called in sick. I simply don't want to hear this in a restaurant when it's $400 for two to eat. This isn't Applebees or Outback Steakhouse, but at times it felt like that's where we were. A huge disappointment over two visits, and in good conscience I wouldn't send visitors or friends to eat here. There are so many better places to eat at a more reasonable price point than this.

Yelp
We reserved chef's table seating for three and got to pick our seats right in front of the steak station. It was a great experience from the hostess stand to our seats. We were greeted at least four times before we even were greeted by our server. Everyone was especially pleasant and we felt welcome. The best part of sitting at the chef's table is you get to see all of the orders heading out after the head chef gives them the ok. Chef was super friendly and the kitchen was working beautifully together. Our style of dining is ordering things to share with everyone so, we got a salad, their killer dinner rolls, bone in ribeye, seafood pasta, loaded baked potato, and Swiss chard. It was plenty and well executed. Beef was med-rare to order, pasta al dente. They packed our leftovers and were helpful picking glasses of wine to pair as we also share to get the most out of this type of meal.

I really struggle with this review. I went their soft opening night and it was their first night. I had a reservation and they seated me right away but they did not give me a menu for 40 minutes! And I had my hungry 6 year old with me. I am pretty sure the kitchen was overwhelmed and they were trying to slow the pace of orders but my gosh don't do it with the table that has a 6 year old starving at it. I ordered my manhattan and a shirley temple for my little when I sat down without a menu and it took more than 30 minutes. Then the server says there is nothing for kids but the busser says they can do noodles? The service was rough. On the upside it is a beautiful place. A little spendy to be a regular hit for me. But my wagyu had that salty crust. Almost too salty for the small thin cut of wagyu it was more like a ribeye dose of salt. The other sides were tasty except the mac and cheese didnt work for me. I thought the aged gouda dominated and my kid didnt like it either. All in all seems like it will be a solid steak house once they get their stuff straight. They had a great opening party a few days later and I met chef and he is beyond awesome. Tried more of their food and it was tasty.

Yelp
I've given GoodNight's two chances. On the first visit, I made a reservation in advance and very clearly stated it was for a special occasion. Upon checkin, the host took us upstairs and tried to seat us at a high-top next to a very noisy bar. When I asked for another table, they offered us seating directly across from the kitchen swinging doors or the table that would seat 8 at the front of the restaurant. Because the offer was paired with a rather dismissive attitude, we walked. We walked across the street and down to Valette....where we are always in good hands. On the second visit, we had a decently located table. The staff seemed very young and very green... but not a deal breaker. However, I was stunned by the prices. I travel extensively and have visited hundreds of steakhouses. So, when I see $80 for a filet and $70 for a ribeye, coupled with an overpriced wine list, it better be freaking amazing. Alas, it wasn't even close. Starks Steakhouse is still our go-to, locally.

Yelp
My friend and I wanted to try out your happy hour menu before going to an event. I must say it was very disappointing it was full of carbs and the charcuterie board was hysterically absurd. I make charcuterie boards for my friends at work for their birthdays and the one that we received was ridiculously obnoxious I was shocked. It was atrocious. My 5-year-old grandson could have made a special charcuterie board than this one I have a photo. We ordered the rules for some silly reason and they also stated it had honey butter what it was there was hard butter in a container and there was honey poured over the top that was it. The french fries were in a cup with paper in it to make it look fluffy but they were horrible and not hot and they catch up apparently they made because it tasted like tomato paste. I will never go back there again and I'm very thankful that it was happy hour because I could not pay full price as it was our bill was over $80 it was ridiculous. Good luck to all of you in the future because your food sucks.

Yelp
I was not impressed. Steaks were ok but highly over priced. Service was ok, except for a manager who tried to make conversation with us by talking about how he was audited by the IRS. Why he thought people out for dinner wanted to hear about his woes, is beyond me. All in all a weird and under whelming experience

Yelp
Came in to try this "newish" steakhouse and I was equally impressed and disappointed. We had reservations at 7:30 and were greeted promptly on arrival. Hostess did not ask what type of table we preferred and were taken to a 2 person high top. Sat down and immediately was a little irritated. I was in my head thinking of the order and wondering aloud how this was going to fit on this very small table. I was also adding up (in my head) how much this dinner should run and thinking I am going to spend a lot of money to be squished into this small table. I also did not want to be "that type" of guest, but asked for the larger 4 person high top and we were moved after she "checked in" with the hostess. Again the restaurant was not very busy and I could also clearly see 3 open booths, but I was happy to be at a larger table. We had the oysters, ahi tuna tartare, wagyu filet, lobster and mashed potatoes all of which were very, very good. The owner/manager came over to ask how dinner was, and he was very pleasant. I am not sure who was responsible for it going a bit sideways, maybe the hostess? I just think when you are spending $300 plus for a meal, just ask if it's drinks and appetizers or a larger meal and seat accordingly. The restaurant itself is lovely and a nice alternative to other high end steakhouses. I think it's still trying to find it's place. I would come back for the food for sure!

Yelp
Great steaks and great customer service. The ambiance is also really nice. Highly recommend it if you come to Healdsburg.

Yelp
Food was extremely over priced for the quality, I was told by a few people but I wanted to try in myself. Almost 500$ for sub par food.

Yelp
We had a wonderful family dinner, with great appetizers (tuna tartar and mushrooms with chimichuri), rib eye, and incredibly good and large sides. Wine and spirits also were delightful. However the service was exceptional. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Nope. Second visit- want to like this place, but they aren't allowing it. Under seasoned soup, discombobulated menu, slow service, weird seating, ran out of food, the list goes on and on. Having a lame wine list loaded with Foley owned wineries is criminal. Liked the actual server though, made it tolerable.

Yelp
Very nice steaks and drinks. Large sides stick to one for two or three people. Order to food was a little slow as they were not very crowed. Severer was new however very helpful. Should you desire a fine steak stop in.

Yelp
We were two couples and we each split a 16 ounce prime rib and a baked potato. The steak was cooked to perfection and the baked potato was one of the best I've ever had. The service was lovely and the ambience was great although it was a little chilly. When the manager saw us put on sweaters, he came in lowered the air conditioner. Derek was extremely pleasant. You can't beat this place if you're in the area.

Yelp
We were very excited about dinner at this new addition to Healdsburg. Unfortunately, the entire evening was disappointing. The server clearly did not understand fine dining. In addition, she forgot the wine, side dishes, etc. Oddly, we received Parker rolls which we did not order. Oysters were milky and inedible. What a health hazard! Steak was amazingly tasty, potato side dish (which arrived at the end of the meal) was awful as was dessert. Ambiance was not my vibe - did not connect to it. It was a truly unfortunate and embarrassing celebration experience.
