The Best Frosty Freezer Mugs for | Eater

"If you want to find a freezer mug today, thrift stores are a reliable source—there’s at least one on the shelves of pretty much every Goodwill I’ve ever been to, making it easy to relive that frosty-mug experience without hunting vintage auctions." - Stephanie Ganz

the prices here vary from wildly expensive for the object/clothing to amazingly cheap, its really a toss up. the employees are always pleasant from what ive seen. however they sort through things in the back can be quite loud at times, however. its worth stopping but dont expect to always find something worthwhile.

I've been going to Goodwill stores all over the country for years. We all know that Goodwill hiked their prices substantially in recent years, so this review really isn't about how insane the prices are. We all know this. This is the first time I've ever gone into the Austintown Goodwill store. By the looks of the exterior, it seemed to me that it would be a large, clean, and packed store. I was excited to check it out. Boy, are looks deceiving. This has to be one of the most depressing, grim, dark, and bare Goodwills I've ever been to. The space is huge, but it seems as if only 1/3 of it is filled with items for sale. The shelves are absolutely bare and what little is on them is useless junk from dollar stores. The clothing section is very odd. It doesn't seem that any clothing is organized by size, color, or type. There were random pants mixed in with shirts. One would have to spend all day browsing through the clothing section to find their size. There is very little in terms of home decor (wall decor, table decor, etc.) and this is the first Goodwill I've ever been to without a section for textiles like tablecloths, comforters, and curtains. I saw several items with two different price tags on them; for instance, a Christmas afghan was priced at $2.50 and then I found another tag attached to it with a $5.50 tag. Very inconsistent and confusing. Baby clothes are thrown into a bin rather than neatly sorted on hangers and clothing racks. Very gross Goodwill store. Someone needs to come in and completely revamp this place.

This is a pretty Decent goodwill, the prices actually make it feel like a thrift store (this is a good thing). Well it seems goodwill is starting to go off the rails. $150 for a used untested Xbox 360 is a bit crazy(you can buy a tested one for cheaper than this at a gamestore, you can find one on gamestop's website or a store for $85). I also noticed that a lot of the used untested video games were also more pricey. $6 instead of the usual $5. Mind you that this is a thrift store that gets free donated items from people that probably want to make a difference for more unfortunate people. Step up your game goodwill. I don't see much "good". On the way out I saw a pricing chart. I noticed that there isn't any type of pricing for electronics, video games, video game consoles, and furniture. Leading me to believe that their price guys are looking at something and just price it based on what they think it should be. That or they are looking it up, I'm sorry but you are a thrift store, if you feel the need to look up the price of something maybe you shouldn't be selling it. Why can't we have some consistency and actually good thrift store worthy prices? And if you pay attention to the item it says "purchase as is, No returns, no exchanges, ALL SALES FINAL." That is crazy, at least on gamestop they offer a warranty. I mean even on ebay you can find decent listings with free returns and shipping. I've also seen multiple Xbox 360's at different goodwill locations for $45-$60 , some with two controllers and 3 days to return it. I also saw a wii at this specific store for $75 with just the power brick in bad condition, again with no way to return it. I've seen wiis for $25-$55 at other stores with wiimotes and cords. I really hope to see goodwill (especially this one) go back to being an actual thrift store dedicated to helping and supporting people.

What a horror! Nothing but junk. Its the same stuff over and over. Look at this fine piece, a rusty / nasty fly screen for $4.00. They have a massive load in the back that is bigger than the store but continue to put out junk. They google everything and prices are full retail on most everything. The good stuff us sold online. How is that helping the local economy? Ask the CEO I suppose, he's making over $2 million a year I read. One forum post calls it GREEDWILL.

I saw an angel statue missing its head for $30. A lot of their items were damaged and above $5. They have a very full back storage room but always have empty to broken items on shelves. Up selling candles you can get down the street for less.

The staff here is very nice. However, there are thrift stores in the Youngstown area that have a better selection of items.

the prices are RIDICULOUS. i go here to buy dvds, cds, and vhs tapes and the prices of the vhs tapes are absolutely insane. i’ve been buying physical media at the goodwills for about 2 years. the dvds used to be $1, then went up to $1.50. the tapes used to be $.25 then went up to $1.50. that right there was crazy, but i still bought them. today i went to this store and i went to the media area and did my shopping, i go up to the register and i see a few tapes so i ask why they’re up there and the lady tells me that the tapes are $5 and $20?????? i don’t know what gave the GOODWILL the impression that they were a target or something, but they need to remember who they are and that’s a THRIFT STORE. these things are given to yall by people. they are USED. yall are NOT a store in the mall. people come here for AFFORDABLE things. thrift stores used to be for people who couldn’t afford higher end / more expensive things. how are people able to do that when yall are charging the same as a walmart??? it’s GROSSSSS. once again, YOU ARE A THRIFT STORE.
