13 Hidden Restaurants in Waikiki, Honolulu | Eater

"You can’t go wrong with any of Zetton’s restaurants, which include Aloha Table, Heavenly, Aloha Steak House, izakaya Zigu, and Paris.Hawaii (another restaurant on this list). But Goofy Cafe + Dine, tucked away on the top floor of a two-story building on the edge of Waikīkī, is a favorite for its stylish surf shack vibe and all-day breakfast. Try one of the island’s best acai bowls or the stellar loco moco. [$$]" - Martha Cheng

Why'd they name it Goofy? I don't know, it's an ordinary cafe'. The food was good with ample portions. The taste was good, not great, not spectacular but a solid good. It just likeom used to make if she was a mediocre cook. This place is the same, they have their great dishes and the majority are good. It will fill you up and not make I feel cheated. The lemonade is great! I would back just for a tall cool sip of that sweet and sour nectar. It's an upstairs establishment, do if you can't climb steps, bring someone to carry you. I'd do it for a lemonade. (Disclaimer: if you are height and weight proportionate). So the view of the street is nice. You can sit and watch the people walking by. It is a small place so be prepared to wait. That's about it, it's another local grinds cafe'

We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and decided to try Goofy’s for breakfast. I ordered the sweet bread French toast with berries—delicious, and definitely something I’d recommend. My husband went with the loco moco; he enjoyed it but felt it was pretty average compared to others he tried during our trip. When you arrive, you’ll need to add your name to the waitlist. We waited about 40 minutes before being seated. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so wait times can be long, though it seemed that parties of two were seated much quicker than larger groups.

Got there 2 mins to 7am when they open and we missed the sign up for first round of tables. We were a table of 2 and landed at number 16 on the waitlist. I'd recommend coming 10 to 15 mins early to sign up on the wait list sheet. Service is excellent. The staff are friendly and the lady spoke fluent Japanese. Those who couldn't wait on the wait list were offered to do take out. Atmosphere is very Hawaiian. The tables and chairs were the theme of a shack house and Hawaiian ukulele music was playing in the background. Cute restaurant on a second floor of a building. We got in at 7:35am and ordered by 7:40. Food and drinks came by 7:50am. Food was so delicious we finished at 7:58am. Papaya smoothie says limited, so I'm not sure if it's seasonal or until sold out. Was very good and can taste the lime in the smoothie. My friend had the POG mix. Strong guava flavour which is good. Not as sweet as my smoothie probably because of the orange juice. We shared the big breakfast loco moco. It was one of the best dishes I've had. I want to come back for the lunch loco moco which comes with fried rice instead of brown rice. The hamburger was slightly charred which gave it such a good flavour. The gravy reminded me of a Japanese hayashi rice. That gravy was savory and had butter flavours. Sunny side eggs had a crispy rim on the eggs. Loved it all and we had side plates so my friend who didn't like her rice draining in sauce while I loved my rice swimming in sauce could both satisfy our tastes. Highly recommend for their loco moco. I will come here everytime I come back to honolulu now. Update: I came back for lunch on a Tuesday. No line up and seating was relaxed. Ordered the lunch loco moco, green pasta, and pineapple iced tea. The lunch loco moco is $5 more than the breakfast loco moco. It was worth the extra $5. Instead of just brown rice, it comes with fried rice with kale, corn, and pork. My friend found it a bit salty after a few bites, but I loved it even more than the breakfast loco moco. It was really tasty and paired well with the pineapple iced tea. The pineapple iced tea was sweet but not too sweet. Bonus, it has free refills. Before leaving I wanted one more refill and the server asked if I wanted to take it to go. Service is excellent and staff are so friendly. Different servers for both visits, but everyone was attentive and all smiles. My friend had the green pasta, she really liked the nutty flavours. I tasted it and it had pesto and macadamia nuts. The garlic shrimp was good, but I felt the shrimp was slightly overcooked. Pasta was saucy, but texture of the pasta was very good and not too soft. Not the dish for me, but my friend said it's one of the best pastas she has had.

My favorite brunch place during my stay! I visited daily and tried something different each day with family. The food was always delicious and Goofy's has a refreshing variety of cocktails and mocktails. The seating options are eclectic and comfortable. The atmosphere is comfortable and fitting for family or lunch with friends. I want a Goofy's t-shirt or something swag... they dont have anything yet. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Always happy and professional as well.

I stopped by Goofy Café & Dine this morning, about 30 minutes after opening, and the place was already packed! It’s on a second floor overlooking Ala Moana Blvd, with open windows that give it a great vibe…definitely made me wish I was dining in instead of taking out. Laura took my order and was so kind and genuine, it made the whole experience all the better. My food was ready in about 20 minutes, hot and packaged thoughtfully. She even kept my fruit plate separate from the hot dishes. We tried the Loco Moco and the Hawaiian French toast. I usually go for savory, but the French toast was the winner, light, not overly sweet, and topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit. The loco moco was tasty too, with fresh in-house patties and rich gravy. It’s easy to see why the place fills up so quickly

The line moves quicker than you’d think and is well worth the wait! I arrived around 9:10am on a Wednesday and there was a line but we were in our seats within 20-25min. Service was amazing and very reminiscent of Japan (a few of the staff were definitely either Japanese or part Japanese). We ordered two dishes and an açai bowl and when they saw we weren’t done with our hot dishes when they prepared the açai bowl, they told us they’ll keep it in the fridge until we were ready. I didn’t even have to ask for them to bring out the açai bowl when we were ready. The waiter made eye contact with me at the right moment and knew to bring it out. The food was amazing! Highly recommend the Loco Moco. I don’t usually like Loco Moco but this was the best Loco Moco I’ve ever tried and I couldn’t stop eating it. We also ordered the Hawaiian Omelette (without cheese) and substituted for Taro Muffin. The Taro Muffin is a must. I think the lack of cheese made the omelette taste a bit less cohesive, but all of the ingredients were delicious on their own as well. The Niu Açai Bowl was massive and I loved the coconut jelly and chia seeds. The açai was pretty frozen / cold so great for a hot day! We also had 2 juices, which were delicious. In total, between two people, we had 3 dishes and 2 juices, which totaled to $100 including tip. The portions are quite generous so we were very full but did clean up most of our plates! Highly recommend and don’t be put off by the queue!

Tried this place while on vacay. Came here for brunch first, and loved it. So, came back for dinner. Both visits were pleasant! Loved everything we ordered! Service and the atmosphere were excellent! Food n drinks were very tasty! 😋

Google
One of the best cafés we visited in Hawaii! The curry isn’t your ordinary curry—it’s something special. Every dish feels familiar but still manages to surprise you with a big wow. Cozy vibes, amazing flavors—definitely a standout spot!

Yelp
The food is most delicious and the service is excellent! Get there early or wait in line.

Yelp
They handle the wait well and the food was really good! Fresh food, friendly service, and comfy setting makes it worth a visit.

Yelp
I love the atmosphere and the pictures of the surfers on the wall. I learned that they are pictures of goofy-footed surfers. " Those who are more comfortable with their right foot are called regular footers, and those who are comfortable on their left are referred to as goofy footers." I'm guessing that's where the name of the cafe comes from. I love the windows opening into the street. We were there for breakfast and overall food was yummy. I'd get something else for the side of the organic mix green, it wasn't my favorite. You must try their whipped cream! They make their own and it's delicious! Service was great and our waiter Mike was wonderful. He even brought me a cup of coffee with whipped cream to go without asking. I definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Excellent food, quality, presentation and service. French toast, eggs Benedict, omelette - all delicious. Pricey but that's everywhere now.

Yelp
LOVE this place! Came here on Sat morning, the wait list was long but the tables turn quickly. Small but cozy restaurant located by the Hilton Village. We ordered loco moco, kalua pork eggs benedict, POG juice and coffee. All are delicious! One of the best loco mocos I ever had!!! They also have fried rice loco moco during lunch time, would love to try that next time. Lastly, they refilled my coffee in a to go cup! A must try local spot!!

Yelp
Easily Underestimated, unassuming menu... but I am ultimately glad I stayed. I know "hawaii" pricing can be steep so [basically] $38 for a few pieces of mahi mahi and veg was a tad overkill, but the champagne (?) butter and fresh veggie skillet presentation was almost a solid $35 presentation at any NYC or other posh setting. I was more impressed by the Maui Brewing Co coconut hiwa porter. BRUH. If you like Guinness... But you want a lil HaVaEe Twang... ORDER THIS! My crew bought our dranks so I tried it; I will be seeking this in my local TX markets for sure. The mahi mahi was a 7.9/10, the veggies nearby were good, loved the pourable butter sauce. My crew ate up their "green spaghetti" and I could see their plates made with love. Tiny, cozy spot, very nice food. Great service Jimmy! I shall be back. Aloha and Mahalo.

Yelp
Stopped by today. It's been two years since my last visit. Still just as good! The ambiance the same, the wait is still the same, but worth the wait.

Yelp
Update: This review is from when I visited here during my trip to Hawaii in February 2024. Because I love this cafe every time I go to Waikiki and have breakfast there. But you have to wait about 30 minutes. Write your name on the waiting list before you get in the line. The decorations inside the cafe are very cute and have a beachy vibe. Last year, I ordered a pancake, but I tried Goofy Hawaiian Omelette and Taro muffin (This is my boyfriend's favorite too) When you change a wheat muffin to a taro muffin, an additional fee is $0.5, but it's worth it. I liked everything, especially the tasty Portuguese sausage, and the chewy taro muffin. The service is always super great. After we finished eating, they offered a free coffee refill (that's nice) and gave me free key charms. I highly recommend this cafe!

Yelp
Food was great! There was a line the day we went but it moved pretty fast. Service was wonderful too! A cute little place to try especially for the locals!

Yelp
Always a must visit when we're in Honolulu. There's always a lineup to get in and restaurant is pretty small, always filled. The system is just to register at the door on a piece of paper and wait. No reservations accepted it seems. The brunch menu is simple but dishes are well presented, with much Hawaiian vibe. We specially enjoy the taro muffin even for a little bit more. Server is very friendly.

Yelp
We stopped by here twice on our recent trip to Oahu. We tried the mixed berry açaí bowl, niu açaí bowl, the açaí smoothie, the breakfast burrito, mimosas, and the potatos/cheesy scrambled eggs and Eng muffin. Overall the food and portion sizes were great for the price. They overloaded the bowls (and all pancakes we saw) with fresh fruit. The açaí smoothie was amazing, as were the mimosas. The a la carte scrambled egg/muffin combo was meh...my fault for not ordering a full menu item but the portions were huge for those. I rectified by ordering the breakfast burrito the following time, which was delightful and included fresh fruit. They are unable to make changes to the burritos, as an FYI. We were told the toppings were premixed when asked if mushrooms could be removed. We ended up just getting them and the mushrooms didn't overpower the sandwich at all. You will have to wait 20-30 min for a party of two, probably longer if your party is bigger. It's a smaller space and limited larger tables. Overall we loved goofy cafe and will definitely be back.

Yelp
First off, I can't believe I've never ate here till my recent trip to Hawaii last month after all these years I've started at Hilton Village. It is literally right at the Hilton Village so super convenient for us. We walked in on a Sunday morning around 9am with 4 people and it was already a 45 minute to an hour wait. This place is definitely worth the wait though! We actually came here two mornings in a row because it was that good and close by! Both myself & my husband along with our other 2 friends ordered the loco moco & Angel's açaí bowl! The loco moco was soooo delicious! I feel like the gravy is what makes this dish so delicious compared to other places I've tried like Liliaha Bakery. Their gravy had lots of flavor and mouthwatering good! If I can lick the plate I totally would've! () The Angel's açaí bowl was another one we enjoyed. Their marshmallow yogurt was so fluffy and creamy. It took on another level then your typical fruits & oats açaí. Both dishes is a must order in my opinion and we all enjoyed it very much! Forgot to mention their iced coffee was also delicious as well! It was made with Kona coffee beans and it went very well with our loco moco and açaí bowl! Mhmm definitely will be back next time! Mahalo!

Yelp
My sister had been here a few months prior and recommended it to us. This place is a must! The wait is worth it. My husband had the Salmon Benedict and said it was delicious. I ordered the Bibimap and the flavors were out of this world! Asian Fusion blend that hit every right note of my tastebuds. We split the bottle service mimosa and had 2 different juices. The guava and a blend of guava, freshliliko. The service was so friendly and welcoming. It is right next to the Hawaiian Hilton Village. With all the windows open the breeze was fantastic. Definitely will be going back before we leave

Yelp
I have been to Hawaii many times and this easily had the best moco loco I have EVER TASTED. The Benedict had hollandaise sauce but it was a little on the sweeter side which isn't really my favorite. Pork on the Bennie was fantastic! Service was great but definitely be prepared to battle a crowd in the morning. I also didn't love the high top chairs we were sat in because they didn't have a back... BUT all in all I think this was my favorite brunch place on the island

Yelp
We went here on the recommendation of a friend. It wasn't what I expected at all! It's a little hole in the wall upstairs in the heart of Waikiki. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and we had about a 15 minute wait on a Tuesday afternoon. Everything is organic, made to order, and super fresh! The decor is kitschy with wooden surf signs and windows overlooking Ala Moana Blvd. My husband started out with a Saratoga Cooler....homemade soda with fresh lime and ginger. Yummy, and so refreshing! He also ordered the "Green Spaghetti" which was homemade pasta with pesto and shrimp added. Our waiter was kind enough to inform us that it takes a little longer to make this dish because they boil the noodles as they are ordered. My husband decided to go ahead with it even though we were in a hurry. He said it was delicious; definitely worth the wait! He devoured it! I had the Very Berry açaí bowl and it was amazing too! It was so fresh and came in a beautiful presentation with a plumeria added. I absolutely loved it! I definitely enjoyed our food, and the service was excellent! We only have a few more days in Honolulu but since we're staying just down the street, we may have to go back for another visit! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Must visit for good vibes and authentic local flavors. Great for breakfast lunch or dinner with a lovely ambience. You can eat very healthy and hearty here or satisfy a sweet tooth too. Keep it up!

Yelp
Best brunch in Honolulu, this place is on second floor of Abc store very conveniently located in front near Hilton Hawaiian village, this restaurant is packed all the time, very busy and the staff are so hard working to accommodate everyone, the reason why is because the food is delicious here, local fresh ingredients, very generous servings and not overpriced,it's a very cozy place and charming ambiance.
google avatar

Yelp
3 positives and like 5 negatives: 1.The food was very fresh. 2.The staff were polite and 3. the drinks were good. However it was not a good experience. 1.The chairs are so uncomfortable that I just started standing. 2. It's roasting inside, warmer than outside. 3. Portions were small and unsatisfying 4. and even though they were described as they were on the menu, it wasn't quite what you'd expect. 5. Can't accommodate larger parties. 6. Food all came out at different times

Yelp
After so many years we finally were able to try goofy cafe for breakfast. We showed up before opening time at 7:00 am to make sure we got a table. We shared the goofy omelette and fresh fruit. It's a cute "shack " like place on the 2nd floor and rustic feeling. The service was very good. And our menu items were delicious and perfect for sharing.

Yelp
If you want some delicious Hawaiian food, this place is it. After a long 5.5 hour flight from Los Angeles, I arrived around 6pm and was seated promptly. Ordered the Hawaiian style beef tacos along with freshly squeezed guava juice and damn they both hit the spot. The beef tacos were savory, the tortillas soft and hot, and all the toppings and condiments they provided were beautifully presented. The guava juice had a flavor that reminds you of what Hawaii is all about. I'll definitely be back next time I visit the area.

Yelp
Great cozy atmosphere. Açaí bowl and loco moco were both fabulous. Attentive and helpful staff
google avatar

Deb K.

Yelp
Solid 4.5 stars! Coffee was solid and really tasted good! Omelet looked small but was packed! Scrambled eggs mixed with tons of local mushrooms, spinach, Portuguese sausage, cheese and avocado! No onions, no unnecessary fillers or spices. Just straight up goodness! I couldn't eat it all. Also substituted the English muffin for the taro one but should have requested honey to put on it. Hubby had the loco moco and as an island boy, he thought it was no there with the best.
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
They didn't have 1/2 the breakfast menu available at 9:30. My son wanted a breakfast burrito, and they told him it was not available.
google avatar

Yelp
The pork chop was nothing short of amazing. Friends got the loco mock and were also pleased. Great local business in a tourist area. Server was attentive and accommodating.

Yelp
There is always a wait for breakfast or brunch but the food is great . Usually Hawaiian menu . Loco moco, French toast - uh mazing! Can't complain . The fruit is the best . Local yummy hunny . The burritos were delish . Quite dim atmosphere . We were a party of six . We had to be split up but it let us sit down quicker . Super friendly staff . The tables are very small. The service was great .

Yelp
First off, don't let the exterior fool you! This cozy little place was recommended and so we tried and so glad we did. Had the goat cheese appetizer, outstanding. My mahi mahi was excellent and the moco loco was enjoyed by the others. Jimmy provided excellent service and would highly recommend this quaint little spot!
google avatar

Mia V.

Yelp
Came here twice during my visit to the island! Both visits the wait was not too long and we were a party of 7 -- wait was under and hour for sure. There is a list that you write your name down on and be sure to stay nearby as if you are not there when they call out your party they will move on to next. I ordered their power salad which ended up being so filling and colorful! Would definitely order it again! The next time I tried the ahi poke bowl and it was a sizable meal as well! Both dishes were fresh and came quickly. The restaurant is pretty small and cozy with lots of windows! My family always comes here every time we visit Waikiki !

Yelp
WHEN: Tue @7pm It was our first night in Hawaii, and we enjoyed dining here last time 2 years ago. Since it was just an 8 min walk from our resort, and my sis has 3 kids, we ordered take-out. She called in and I picked up. The wait was about a half hour, and this is what we ordered: CAESAR SALAD - $16 +$5 CHICKEN (dry) Local romaine lettuce, parmesan cheese, house made special anchovy dressing, crutons, bacon. Would have been better without the chicken as it was dry. But the salad was decent, and I wished there was more lettuce than crutons. SAUTÉED VEGETABLES - $9 It's literally a side. Like 2 pieces of each: Asparagus, TOmato slices, Radish halves, and Chinese broccoli. Not worth the $9. BIG ISLAND BEEF LOCO MOCO - $22 Homemade 2 patties, 2 local eggs(sunny side up), home made special gravy sauce & brown rice. This was a good one for the kids as it's simple and basic: rice and beef! GREEN SPAGHETTI (GENOVASE) - $22 Homemade herb pesto, macadamia nuts & shrimp. A good portion to share. So unique and delicious, I'm glad they didn't skimp on the amount of sauce. ROB MACHADO AÇAÍ BOWL - $16.50. Papaya, Strawberry, Banana, Macadamia nut, Cacao nibs & Peanut butter. Served with Honey and Hemp Granola. It's literally a giant ice scoop of peanut butter and it was awesome. Loved everything about this açaí bowl, it really hit the spot. I enjoy it here, and when we wanted to order that açaí bowl again, they didn't allow take out orders because they were so busy with sine-in customers. So be prepared on busy days if you decide on take-outs!

Yelp
Food 5/5: loco moco was super delicious. The gravy, eggs, fried rice and the meat complimented each other so well. Acai bowl was very tasty w papaya as well. Ice coffee came w brown sugar and milk, tasted really good. All in all, great experience. Would def come back again. Service was very friendly, ambiance was good for hangouts for brunch. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My expectations for Goofy Cafe were higher since a local had recommended this spot and highly vouched for their loco moco. On our first morning in Waikiki, we lazily got up and out for the day and their line was way too crazy for our hungry bellies around 9 am. So we decided to save it for a different morning. When we came back we were able to be there around 7:30 am and the wait was minimal. When we were seated, it was easy to see how the wait time gets exponentially long because it is a fairly small dining area. The decor is very cozy and makes you feel at home, which I liked. I ordered the Kalua pork benedict, my husband ordered the big island loco moco, and I couldn't say no to adding a pina colada smoothie and order of fresh papaya. My benedict was fine. The egg was poached well, hollandaise sauce was creamy, muffin was toasty, but the pork itself was a little underwhelming. It came with a side of purple potatoes and I hate to say it, but island vintage did the potatoes way better. I looked over at my husband and his face did not say 'I'm stuffing my face with the best loco moco ever.' He said it was okay, but wasn't wow-ed. The pina colada smoothie was delicious (my three year old agreed) and of course the fresh papaya was delicious as well. The meal was good, but I wouldn't find myself waiting (esp not upwards of 1 hr+) to eat here. The servers were very friendly and got our food out pretty timely, so they do score points for that!
google avatar

Naomi Z.

Yelp
We were searching for breakfast and found this online. The outside isn't fancy or anything like that but it's fantastic food. My husband had the pork eggs Benedict and licked his plate. I enjoyed the crab eggs Benedict but it is more like a crab cake, not fresh crab. Purple potatoes are good but could be softer. What stood out was the French toast. That and the whip cream were to die for.
google avatar

Megan O.

Yelp
I came here for dinner the other night and it was delicious. Then today we went for brunch and I have to say that there Niu Açaí Bowl is the most incredible açaí bowl I've ever had. The fruit was fresh, the flavors were perfect. I wish I had tried this on day 1 of our trip because I might have had one every day!
google avatar

Patinka ..

Yelp
Great service and interesting options on the menu! We had toasted breakfast burrito and crab cake benedicts ( the sauce was a bit too sweet) all in all great but be ready to wait a bit for a table for us it was about 30 min.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
Love this place. You'll have a long wait, but trust me it's worth it. The food and servers were fantastic and we always visit whenever we are in town.
google avatar

Christie B.

Yelp
I know the name is unusual and the wait is LONG....but so worth it. From the time you sit and order you have food in under 15 minutes. The coffee is fantastic and the service even better. I have ordered everything from the Acai bowls to the Loco Moco to the freaking awesome pancakes. Oohh and make sure you try the Taro english muffins, they are truly amazing. This is a must stop restaurant for sure. We don't frequent often but make sure we don't miss it when we are in town.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
I wanted to enjoy Goofy's so bad but unfortunately the service and food fell flat for me. Upon arrival my friend and I put our names on the wait list (which isn't very clear that you have to do that to be seated). The wait wasn't too bad, we were seated in about 30-40 minutes and had quite a lot of people ahead of us. Once we were seated, it took a while for our waiter to come over and greet us. Luckily, he was very sweet. My friend's food came out first and then mine came out about 10 minutes after. In the future, I'd recommend they bring out food at the same time so that no one is awkwardly waiting. I had the Goofy omelette which looks much better than it tastes. I was disappointed by how bland it was and even adding salt to it didn't really help. The papaya smoothie was fresh and delicious. The sausage was very oily but delicious. My friend had the eggs benedict, he enjoyed it but also felt like the flavors could've been better. Overall, Goofy's wasn't for me. The food looks better than it tastes. However, I still recommend trying this place for yourself.
google avatar

Maureen M.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast and had to write down my name for waitlist. Didn't take long and finally was called to be seated. Yay! Ordered the salmon eggs benedict and I loved it! It's delicious and healthy. I also love the kale and purple yam that comes with it. This places uses as much as possible organic ingredients which I love. I definitely recommend this place :)

Yelp
Cozy ambiance, fast friendly service and exquisite food; all at affordable prices(especially located in Waikiki)!! I wanted to wait until I had been a few times and every time has not been disappointing. I know I'm going to keep coming back during the rest of my stay and every time I come back to them island I will be coming many times because this place is that good! Locally sourced food items, organic as much as possible and enough variation to please call types of palates. The staff is working wonders in the kitchen. Go prove me right!!!
google avatar

Alison B.

Yelp
This unassuming breakfast spot is tucked in the upstairs of a small strip mall behind the Hilton Hawaiian Village and next to an ABC store. It was definitely the best breakfast I had all week in Hawaii. Fresh food and great service. Just know that it can get crowded at times.

Yelp
I highly suggest you get here early or within an hour of opening. People do start showing up and the line will go down the stairs. Don't be fooled by the weird location and funky building, this place is pretty good. I really liked the entire set up of this place , it feels like you're going to eat in somebody's house, that is right up against the beach. Instead tho, your view will be of the street. It's got a cabana type feel to it, with the exposed wooden beams, fans going and with all the open windows. The staff is friendly, attentive and have that laid-back Hawaii vibe. We all enjoyed our meal, the coffee and I can't wait to come back. Here's a hack. If you are a party of four, do two tables of two, you'll get in quicker.

Yelp
My favorite place after a long hike when I'm on the island! Love the ambiance/80s music a nice breeze on the upper patio deck. I get the Goofy Omlette but hold the Portuguese sausage..they offered extra avacado perfect! Scott was my waiter today very fast friendly service! They have a sign up sheet at the entrance, today the wait was less than 10min.

Yelp
First time in the area and saw the many reviews on yelp so chose to give it a go Easter Sunday for brunch. It was a busy, and took about 45 minutes to get a table for 4, but put your name down and hang. Really great tasty food, friendly service and once in a beautiful chill local environment. So great that they left space in the restaurant and didn't do as so many do in the US and jam as many tables and people in as they can. We all loved the loco moco, eggs Benedict with Kahlua pork and salmon, and definitely get the taro muffin. Super tasty. Highly recommend.

Yelp
It's a small place but super delicious so you might expect to wait a bit. I went there twice in my week long trip due to how delicious it was. Both times only waiting about 15 minutes. The servers were super nice and helpful. The food was delicious. The açaí bowls were stocked with fruits and toppings and so filling. They also have big open windows which creates good airflow.

Yelp
This is actually my second time coming to goofy's. The first time was on my last trip to Oahu about a year ago. The first time we came for the açai bowls, after a surfing lesson on Waikiki. However, this is my first meal during this trip in 2023. I had just landed at the airport and gotten into my Airbnb hotel. And I was STARVING. One of the things that I always get each time that I come to Hawaii is a loco moco. It is very heavy, but given that I hadn't really eaten much on my long flight from the mainland, this definitely hit the spot. I had to make several adjustments, for one the egg had to be fully cooked, and so did the meat patty. Otherwise, this would have been even more delicious as it was originally intended to be. Loco Moco (with a side of steamed vegetables): PROS: - huge quality, I actually had to take half home. - Came out hot and fresh. They made it to order, with unfortunately the egg having to be well done. The loco Moco is actually a lot better with an egg over easy or even sunny side up so that yolk can flow into the gravy and over the rice even. - The fresh vegetables on the side were really nice and paired well with the saltiness of the gravy. CONS: - The gravy tends to be on the saltier end, but this is to be expected. This dish is literally carbs and meat. I wouldn't say that this is a con, because you can definitely tweak it a little bit like I did by adding the steam vegetables. Also having fresh guava juice really helped. As I normally tend to stay around this area, whenever I come to Honolulu, I would say it's safe to expect me here on my next visit to the island. I highly recommend coming during the off hours, as I can get quite crowded and the wait can be quite long. Staff is always a tentative and super polite as usual. Thank you for accommodating my diet this time round!

Yelp
This place was by far the best breakfast I had in Hawaii. It took a while to get seated so I'd recommend coming before your hangry but the wait was worth it! The food was delicious! We ordered French toast, açaí bowls, the papaya (so sweet and delicious), and the bottle mimosas (doing the bottle and having two options for juice was a great call). Food was great and left very full and happy!

Yelp
Disgusting. Food was awful. Shirmp was overcooked and there was so much oil in pasta it could have been contamination if it was dumped in the sea. Loco Moco was bland and too much gravy. Servers were disintrested. Run run away from this place. We had so many amazing meals here in Hawaii in unexpected places. This wasn't one. Do yourself a favour and pick somewhere else. I would write more for a review but I don't think it is worth it. It was the worst meal my family has had pre covid. Also we have a daughter in a wheelchair and they were not kind to her at all. If there was a zero star rating I would give it to them

Yelp
I am back at Goofy Cafe after many years and it was quite a pleasant experience today! The wait is still pretty long and we arrived 30 mins after opening! My boyfriend got the Kalua Pork Benedict and I got the Morning Power Salad! The salad is fully vegan and it was delicious!! Super fresh ingredients. And it is HUGE. We also ordered the açaí smoothie and the pina colada smoothie. Service and food were great! Will be back again if we are in the area! I want to come back and try their lunch/dinner menu as well.

Yelp
Probably one of the best bennys I've ever had plus size is definitely better bang for your buck !! That also goes with the açai bowl, loaded with fruit compared to other shops around town and pure quality açai. There was a bit of a line when we arrived around 10am but it definitely moves quick with the service being immaculate. Open window environment, truly a Hawaiian vibe which I love. Will definitely be an occurrence whenever I'm back here.

Yelp
Had an amazing last breakfast in Hawaii here on a whim! The ambience is extremely chill, the staff extremely sweet, the Ceasar was delicious, iced tea so lovely with some fresh fruit, and the Khalua pork eggs benny with Okinawa purple potatoes is OUT OF THIS WORLD!

Yelp
Here's an abbreviated list of foods I had for the first time in Honolulu: poi, kalua pork, macaroni and potato salad, malasadas, Okinawan sweet potatoes, chickpea tuna salad (vegetarian), sugarcane juice, and an epic Morning Power Salad from Goofy Cafe & Dine. Nom nom! What's my point? Okay, I'll divulge: #1. Honolulu is a culinary powerhouse! #2. While Hawaii is known for its rainbow filled skies, it's also a great place to "eat the rainbow" and nosh on the islands' colorful array of local foods. #3. Eating a salad for breakfast is just like green eggs and ham. I'll gladly eat it in a house, box, car, tree, train, boat, in the dark, or in the rain. ;) This cafe was actually recommended to me by a local surfer, and it ended up being one of my favorite dining experiences in Hawaii. This is now where I channel Oprah to shower the owners and staff with praise: Great food! Great concept! Great service! Great ambience! Great location!
