Have wanted to come here for years and finally made the trip. Worth the wait. Bring cash and tip well because the service is excellent. Ordered a small waffle cone consisting of 2 large scoops. I chose butter crunch and coffee Heath. Also tasted the dirty water specialty flavor with a coffee base which was delicious. Lots of places to sit in the shade as well as a fire pit for cooler evenings. Charming gazebo covered seating with flowers as well. Check it out. Much preferred over any of the downtown Kennebunkport ice options.

Google
Cash only! Totally worth a stop. So many options. They have classic and unusual flavors. They have regular ice cream and also have coconut milk based, water based, and vegan options. Service was great. The kiddie size was pretty big - a 2 scoop at other places.

Owen Cloukey

Google
Very good ice cream with huge sizes. Expensive as expected and can have long lines too. Best time to go is afternoon or a weekday night. Packed on weekends with hour wait times.

John Denton

Google
Badly organized. If you want just a coffee and newspapers or one of the groceries, you have to wait in the same slow moving lines taking orders for specialty foods. Always long line just for a simple item.

Google
Despite calling themselves a 'dairy,' they had no milk for milkshakes. And they don't take credit cards (because it's apparently too much of an ask for the person who owns this place to buy a card reader and connect it to a cell phone). I walked away pretty unimpressed.

Google
My new favorite ice cream place! Although it’s 30 minutes out of the way for me, I’m so excited to come back here. I like that it’s a quiet, tucked away place and the landscape is beautiful. But the best part is their flavor selection! All these flavors I can’t get anywhere else (and I’ve gone to most in the Portland area) makes me so excited to come back and try more. Pictured: Cookie Monster on top, peanut butter Oreo (new favorite) on bottom. And this is a small!

Google
Wonderful ice cream for a post-beach visit. Ample seating surrounding the premises. Make sure that you are wearing bug repellent!!

Yelp
Perhaps my favorite ice cream haunt in Maine -- The Goose Rocks Dairy has been serving up happiness and joy in a waffle cone for longer than I've been making my pilgrimages and if you're reading this and haven't yet been to visit, you're doing yourself a major disservice by not planning a visit -- post haste. Their flavors board might be second in quantity when competing with the likes of the Scoop Deck, but it also isn't quite the overload that is the scoop deck but it is. Goose Rock's is similarly overwhelming with far too many amazing flavors to consider. You can't pick wrong. When the ice thaws, go for ice cream!

Yelp
This is the ice cream that I dreamed of for nearly a year. In the opinion of your faithful scribe, this is the best ice cream in Southern Maine. Sure, they aren't off I95 or US1 but, the fact that you can find this kind of quality in the middle of the woods makes it all that much better. So worth the drive from Arizona.

Yelp
Enormous servings and great variety! Places to sit too is a plus. A kiddie is enough for most adults.

Yelp
Went here because of a recommendation from a friend. She said it was some of the best ice cream in town, maybe even Maine! Naturally, my family and I had to check it out. We ended up loving it so much, that we went there again the next night. When you arrive, it's a gravel parking lot in a bit of a beaten-down shack. In my experience, these places are usually the best. The list of ice cream was overwhelming! They had to have had at least 40 flavors. I got the Peppermint Patty and the second time I got Cappuccino. Both were absolutely DELICIOUS. My family got the Moose Tracks, Vanilla, Smores, and Salted Caramel Pretzel. We each loved our flavors. Not only is this ice cream great, but you get a lot of ice cream for your money. Just the small size is huge and I struggled to eat it! My friend's recommendation did not let me down.

Yelp
We visited on Labor Day weekend 2023. My lovely bride and I agree on this one - GRD serves the best ice cream in the state of Maine. I ordered a scoop of Oreo ice cream and a scoop of Almond Joy ice cream on a waffle cone. Absolutely to die for. My bride ordered dips of Kahlua chip and extreme chocolate on a waffle cone. She says the extreme chocolate flavor is definitely the way to go if you like dark chocolate. Service is prompt and pleasant. The outdoor area is very well tended - the owner has a green thumb. Highly recommended!

Yelp
The parking lot was jammed at 2pm on a holiday. I'm sorry I didn't take pictures this time. I had a cup of ice cream and melting whipped cream with crushed oreos on top in one hand and cash with change in the other. By the time I got back to my car, the ice cream already started to melt and you know the rest is history. Next time I'll do better . It's a good amount of ice cream they scoop into the cup. $5.75 kiddie $6.75 small $7.75 large. They're open 2p-10p everyday. The extra toppings are 50¢ each but they're like only 1 ounce. The spoon that is served with the cup is flimsy and makes it extremely difficult to eat the ice cream. Suggestion: Get hard plastic spoons for hard ice cream. And, get pop rocks to put in vanilla ice cream shakes for 4th of July holiday! This way people can have a party in their mouth. The ice cream here is delicious at a good price. They *only* accept cash. ‍

Yelp
Goose rocks dairy is right down the street from my home. I think if you're in the area, you should definitely try "cookie monster" because it is very good. I can say that goose rocks dairy just makes you scream, Yum! and their ice cream is simply the best. Definitely a place that would be worth visiting with family or friends, hang out or just go there on a hot day. -StellaB. #Yummy

Yelp
Nice selection of flavors. Good quality ice cream at a fair price. And that's all I have to say about that.
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Yes it's worth it but don't expect any toppings! Bring cash or you can give them an IOU!!
google avatar

Sharon S.

Yelp
Stopped here for some amazing ice cream in this heat! It's true-the servings are huge! I got the kiddie which was so large. Unfortunately they ran out of Oreos and peanut butter cups! Lots of ice cream flavors. We will be back!

Yelp
One of the best ice creams in town. They are open during Covid as well. You need a mask to order. They have benches on outside for you to sit and finish your ice cream. We loved the coffee flavored and sea salt caramel here.
google avatar

Susan P.

Yelp
Love this place! You usually will have to stand in line and sometimes it means battling the salt marsh kamikaze mosquitos but it is so worth it. Their ice cream is dairy made, not mass produced.
google avatar

Beth H.

Yelp
Awesome home made ice cream in a large variety of flavors. The chocolate chip was a great base with big chocolate chunks. Be aware, this is a small cone! Size is huge!
google avatar

Chrysanthi L.

Yelp
Adorable set up over at Goose Rocks Dairy! They've got about 20 unique flavors, including no sugar added flavors and some sherbert as well. My partner and I stopped by here for kiddie sized ice creams (they have MASSIVE portions) and found out the hard way that they are cash only. Instead of turning us away (we did not have cash on us), they wrote our names down as an I-O-U and trusted us to come back with the cash the next day! So impressed by this and their trust in the world. Very kind employees, great tasting ice cream, good value, and really nice outdoor COVID-friendly setup. Looking forward to many more scoops from this place.
google avatar

Maureen B.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! We all had kiddie cups and couldn't finish. Really good. I had a banana walnut and it was amazing.
google avatar

Gerri M.

Yelp
Fun little place for good ice cream. Nestled a little back from the road but good benches to sit and enjoy your favorite flavor. Lots of choices and the service was friendly.
google avatar

Jordan H.

Yelp
You cannot find better ice cream in Kennebunkport. The kiddie sizes are 3x the size of a large where I am from. Their menu is huge, you are garenteed to find an ice cream you never thought existed but will become your new favorite.
google avatar

Cheryl W.

Yelp
Now Serving Breakfast!!! We had bfast there 2 days in a row, while camping down the road. So pretty and comfy. There's a big buffet or order off the menu, both were fabulous!! A little pricey for the buffet but food was so good it didn't matter! The service was excellent and the owner was so nice and welcoming!! Go there!!!

Yelp
There is soo soo much ice cream to choose from and the portions are huge for the amount you're paying. I have personally been to plenty of other homemade ice cream shops in southern maine and all the prices are about the same. I know people sometimes get upset about the prices going up a quarter or so, but that's what has to happen at small businesses in Maine now ever since the minimum wage was increased. As for the huge lines that greet the little shop almost every night, this isn't because of workers being slow, it is because the ice cream is just that good. I promise you, it's worth the wait. As for the breakfast restaurant, they are only open Friday-sunday after the fourth of july. The food is delicious and you'll see some familiar faces of people that also work in the dairy. Try the crunchy french toast it is to die for!
google avatar

Tim G.

Yelp
Why is this place 2 dollar signs? My friend treated himself and 3 of his friends here for under $20. And everyone got enough dairy to have lactose problems later that night. We were full and bloated. In the business, that's what they call "floated." The ice cream itself was great! The consistency is perfect and the waffle cone I got was delightfully crispy. The scoops were huge but my cone came out anything but unwieldy. My white shirt lives to see another day. The Kahlua ice cream they had was only pretty good (hence the 4 stars), but the triple chocolate was a show stopper. The Monster Mash I sampled was also fantastic. I will be back!

Yelp
This was a delightful surprise find that my wife and I stumbled upon right around the corner from our accommodations at Hidden Pond. If it wouldn't have been for the cute little the sign on the side of the road, we never would have known about it, and that would be a shame. The list of flavors is daunting. Thankfully they will allow multiple tastes to help you decide. As others have mentioned, the portions are huge, whether you order a cup or a cone. My wife ordered coffee chip and I finally decided on sweet cream crunch--both were excellent, as were everything we tasted as part of the whole process. Personal tastes make recommendations here somewhat useless, so this review is simply to urge others to give this creamery a try. I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with what they find at the end of a spoon here.

Yelp
It's really easy to miss goose rocks dairy as it's right on nine and you would normally not expect to stop here. Fortunately we were staying very close by and dropped by for an ice cream. This is a very reasonably priced place and the ice cream is wonderful. We had extreme chocolate and butter crunch, both were amazing.

Yelp
I love this ice cream. We come to Maine every summer and stopping here is one of must do eats. I love the Campfire Smores. So creamy and the chunks of chocolate are amazing. Huge portions. Get a small, large will probably kill you. Absolutely love it.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
Great spot. Hannah is the best. What a fun positive attitude. The ice cream choices are vast and delicious. Bring an appetite. Portions are huge.

Mary K.

Yelp
Great ice cream, generous serving size. My daughter and I tried one night but the line was long so planned for an earlier attempt the next night. Still a small wait, but Definitely worth it. If you come in mid-summer bring bug spray or plan to swat mosquitoes! Still worth it though.

Dee C.

Yelp
Best ice cream in Kennebunkport! Off the beaten path a little, but such a hidden gem!I I got the peanut butter cup... wow, so good! If your in Kennebunkport Maine this is a must go.

Desiree B.

Yelp
Great ice cream however not reliable in making sure customer's stay informed. Google information isn't updated and shows they are open, no updates on webpage/Facebook other then solely posting they're open for Memorial Day weekend and their Instagram bio states open 12-9. Phone number on Facebook is out of service.
google avatar

Kyri K.

Yelp
Great ice cream, but not my favorite in the area. Scoops are big. It's outdoors and can get very buggy at night in the summer. Cute seating to enjoy if you go with a group. Try their breakfast on the weekend if you can! There is a buffet but you can also order off the menu. The food is good but my favorite thing is the decor/atmosphere.
google avatar

Jeffrey O.

Yelp
This place was cool. It had Great ice cream. Picturesque seating area. We loved the gazebo.
google avatar

Suzanne B.

Yelp
I can't quite figure out the compound this place is in, but who cares, really, it was dark and I had the best value for ice cream ever! We saw the large cups, which were only 50 cents or $1 more than the regular.....but whoa...you get the cup plus about the same amount piled on top. It was almost embarrassing since I am a pretty light eater. Traditional flavors, but lots and lots of them. Can't compare in terms of culinary creativity to Roccoco, but as far as traditional ice cream goes, this was a great value and yummy too.
google avatar

Kevin C.

Yelp
Generous portion of ice cream and so much to choose from! The small size portion was enough to last me for two days and the waffle cones tasted fresh and crunchy. This place is perfect for any weather in the beautiful state of Maine. Expect to pay between $4 and $5 depending on the scoop, but it's well worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place for ice cream. Big parking lot with plenty of places to sit. Very nice grounds around the building, with bathrooms available. Lot's of flowers and nice groupings of chairs, benches and cafe tables. Okay, now to the cream. Wow! Tons of flavors, and the scoops are huge. Got a 'small' waffle cone, and it was HUGE. Most people were ordering the 'kiddie' size, and even that is a very nice size cone or dish. Family of 4, and we got a ton of ice cream for $18 bucks. My kids couldn't even finish their cones....that's how big they were.

Paul B.

Yelp
Campfire S'more! This place is the best value around. The servings are huge. It slows their service down. Can't turn them over. Feel bad for the kids on a Saturday night. Line out to the parking lot. And the owner lives next door! Come out and help!
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
I love Maine. And I love random ice cream stands in places you don't expect to find them. That is Goose Rock Dairy. 40+ flavors of lactose induced love sure to give me the....... Too bad Andy, it looks too good to pass up and you are on vacation. Moose Tracks and Monster Mash here I come. Doesn't matter if the ice cream is good, it's ice cream and it's Maine !
google avatar

Kelly A.

Yelp
This place is a counter at a shed in a weird compound that reminds me half of European campgrounds and half something from ChuckManson-Jim Jones world, kinda creepy really. Everyone I know raves about the ice cream here, so when we asked, and find out the ice cream is from Massachusetts, we almost left right there. There is such an abundance of fantastic Maine-made ice cream, why bother trucking it up from the land of M^&*holes? So, their prices are normal for the area, the portions are enormous, two big plus points. But the quality is not there. Just another mile down the street you have Rococo, possibly the best gelato in all of Maine, at the same prices. And just down the road you have Dairy Joy in Biddeford, which looks like a dump but has really good ice cream. Not to mention at least three decent creameries in Saco. OK, it's better than the Good Humor trucks that jingle around the local beaches, so they get two stars from me.......

Yelp
Awesome ice cream shop. Beautiful setting fast friendly service. Cash only and bring your bug spray!!! Oh and might as well get a large
google avatar

Yelp
Goose RocksDairy is a great place to satisfy you sweet tooth. I had one scoop of the Cherry Moose Tracks and My wife had a scoop of the Mint Moose Tracks. One scoop was what most sell as two scoops, the taste was to live for. The selections where great. I highly recommend it if you are an ice cream connoisseur.

Laura M.

Yelp
Best ever! Can't imagine a week on Goose Rocks without a trip to the Dairy! An experience and some damn good ice cream

Abigail L.

Yelp
Our group of 10 loved our trip out to GRD! They were quick, informative, and the ice cream- all 14 of the flavors we tried- were delicious! Cherry moose tracks and graham central station were the favorites. Would recommend to anyone in the area as the ice cream is great and the ambience and grounds are fantastic. The servings are very large so the small and kiddie sizes were more than sufficient for everyone.

Yelp
Got to Goose Rocks and I waited in line with my significant other for a little over 45 min for a nice dessert and my man decided to try to the Kahlua Fudge and I got the salty pretzel. I have no complaints about the pretzel, well worth the wait :D but however, the kahlua fudge tasted like it had been in the freezer at this establishment since at least early 2000s. Do not get the kahlua fudge, it was absolutely fowl. My man was not happy and I had to deal with that for the rest of the night. 4 dollars we could've spent on gas/ milk/ eggs, spent on freezer burn that we fed to the local cows. I am all for small businesses, I would honestly get a tattoo for small businesses.. I love them. I thought goose rocks would honestly be a great memory but I'm not so sure about that. I will certainly not be getting a tattoo for this small business . 3 stars tho cause mine was good :)
google avatar

Yelp
Great ice cream a short trip from goose rocks beach. Wide range of flavors, overly generous portions, reasonable prices. Nice seating areas outside.
google avatar

Steph W.

Yelp
I LOVE GOOSE ROCKS DAIRY! I pulled up praying they'd have peppermint stick ice cream only expecting to be disappointed. I was wrong, they had it! It is homemade and absolutely delicious. A small cone is $4 and is HUGE. It was so creamy, flavorful and delicious. It is cash only so be prepared but they had a lot of flavors and it was a good value!
google avatar

Emily G.

Yelp
Apparently the hours on here are wrong. This is the second time this season we have tried and they aren't open. Today a Monday at 2pm. And a week ago around 3. We saw multiple people pulling in also disappointed they aren't open .. To bad because we love there ice cream but don't want to keep driving over to check :-(

Sean C.

Yelp
We have been coming to Goose Rocks for four years. Every year getting ice cream here is something our whole family looks forward to. However this year we were so disappointed in our experience. If you've been to Goose Rocks Dairy you know that it is a fairly remote location. Because of this patrons need to have a bathroom accessible. When we arrived, after driving from Wells, we found a note on the bathroom stating that the bathrooms would no longer be available because of vandalism. I am very sympathetic to the damage that they might have experienced. But when families show up they expect that a restaurant would have facilities available to them. Surely something could be done like a key check out. When we asked about an alternative they sent us to a porta John several miles away behind a general store. We had driven quite a ways to get our Goose Rocks fix so everyone just held it and ordered. After our first bite we all said something has changed. My wife and I were really looking forward to their blueberry ice cream that we haven't ever found anywhere else. It was all blue with whole wild blueberries and not at all overly sweet. However this new ice cream had fake blue swirls, no blueberries and crumbled pie crust. It was about the same as you would buy for $3.99 a gallon a your local grocery store. Our daughter said the mint chocolate chip wasn't even close to being the same quality. It's a shame that a great establishment changes so drastically in one year. Instead of driving out there 5-6 times during a two week stay that was our only trip to the Rocks this year. My hope is they will go back to the high quality product and property that we have loved for several years.

Christy H.

Yelp
Too many flavors to list and portion sizes are HUGE. Besides ice cream they have HUGE brownie sundaes, frappes and milk shakes. Lots of outdoor seating and a bonus they actually have restrooms. Nice place to feed your sweet tooth.

Allyson W.

Yelp
They opened for breakfast today. Two of us had the buffet, which included scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage, pancakes, homemade breads, etc. The price was $14.95, but the owner said that was last year's price because they were training some new staff this weekend. The food was yummy. We will definitely be back. Note: it's cash only and no ATM on site, and they are only open for breakfast Fri, Sat and Sun.

Yelp
Amazing ice cream, awesome setting. Plenty of parking, and places to sit. Always have interesting flavors. So good!

Ba D.

Yelp
Some of the best ice cream that I have had. The peanut butter Oreo is amazing. The scoops are huge! Worth the drive.

D H.

Yelp
My favorite ice cream is made here...service is excellent as well. Lines can be long, but go fast and worth the wait.
