A lively, late-night stalwart with combo spreads, egg soup, kimchi fried rice, and plenty of banchan. KQED put it on the map for South Bay KBBQ; go for the party energy and staff-cooked meats.

Yummy Korean food that is cooked for you. Typically, I am the one cooking for the family but not this time. I was able to enjoy it Unmarinated meat was my favorite dipped in the salt and pepper sauce. Pork neck was surprisingly delicious along with the beef tongue (not as bad as it sounds, it is thinly sliced).

Got really hungry at midnight and wanted to have korean BBQ. Found this place on google map and had shprt ribs, brisket and beef tongues. Meat was very fresh and delicious. The salad is amazing. Will add to my late night food list. Parking can be tricky, but they do have parking in the back near the restaurant ( on the left side)

Food was good especially when it is hard to find anything at midnight. Friendly and attentive.

If you’re looking for a great experience, this might not be the best choice. The food is okay, but the service could use some improvement. They have a fixed 18% tip, regardless of the service quality, and the place isn’t the cleanest. It’s open late, but there are better options out there. I’d suggest looking elsewhere for a more pleasant visit.

Google
Food was honestly fine. This is my 5th visit, and this is the first time I've been this disappointed. they overcooked the pork belly, and service was what really disappointed me. When it was time to tip, they said that we had to tip 18% minimum (which was "requested" not "required" as per the receipt). Not only that, but the only time they truly paid attention to us was to watch us write down how much we were tipping. Initially, we were going to tip 15% since service was fine, NOT good, but the staff sat behind us and corrected us. She proceeded to stay behind us until we checked the 18% box and signed the bill. Definitely not coming back :p The food here is not good enough to balance out the bad service. Not to mention, they don't take the food off the grill when it's done cooking, so it gets super dry and overcooked if you aren't constantly stuffing your face. They also have a requirement of 1 order of meat per person, but it's not mentioned anywhere on the menu. This means they put you on the spot when you're trying to order. DPMO

A friend of mine invited me to Gooyi Gooyi 4 years ago. She said she starts coming to high school! I have to say It is one of my favorite Korean BBQs in the Bay Area. I love the vibes and food. Totally cost around $130 Vibes: good pop music and lighting! Nice Korean late-night street bar style! Food: I ordered combo #1 and make some adjustments. I changed the pork belly to short rib and added Kimchi fried rice: Beef brisket: it is so good! I dipped it into the sesame oil with salt and eat it with slices of green onions! Sometimes I eat it with garlic Bone-less slice short-ribs: this is always my favorite! They usually cook it after brisket, I ate it in the same style as brisket. I added rice cake on it and added some kimchi and even better! Steamed egg: It came with the combo and a good combination with meat! Soybean soup: it came in the last. A nice warm tasty soybean soup ! I personally really like it but I know some people can’t accept the tasty. Kimchi Fried Rice: I always ordered and added pork sausage because it is really satisfy after a tired day. It includes seaweed and made it tastes even better ! Totally cost: around $130 after tax and tips Parking: parking is really hard, I parked on the next store and walked to the restaurant

Staffs can be a little impatient but still polite, but I understand, they are very busy! This is a very busy Korean BBQ place. Food are delicious! They help us with the BBQ. Ordered the combo for 2, and that's A LOT OF FOOD! Will definitely be back. Be sure to call to get a reservation. I was lucky I was early and got me a table. And that place got really busy with long waitlist.

Xiaowen Z.

Google
The service was too bad. They refused to serve us until our party was present. And there was an uncomfortable rush to vacate our table before we had even finished our meal. If there is time limitation on dining, it should be clearly communicated, perhaps displayed at the entrance. The food is over priced. And it’s very hard to find a parking spot. Would never come back again. If you want to get together with your friends and enjoy your meal, avoid this place!

Yelp
Ohhhh yes! Gooyi, like the ol comfy blanket, you comfort me in my times of craving for some good KBBQ... one of the few places where the staff does the cooking for you so you can focus on just enjoying the delicious meats and the usual accouterments aka banchan... the salad here is a STAR! We usually get 3 refills! The dressing is oooohhhh so addicting! Grab a radish round, top with salad, meat, garlic, jalapeño, dippp in da sawce and enjoy the orgasm in yo mouf! Git in me bellyyyy! This is a no frills old skoool joint, no fancy chandeliers here, just a normal nonchalant spot to get your K groove on! You can order Ala carte or choose from preset combo meals... you can add the kimchi fried rice option and they will conjure up a table side order ! Pricing is higher than some of the other KBBQ joints but the quality and the service makes up for it, they even use real charcoal not gas ! Now that's da real deal... 감사합니다 ! gamsahabnida!

Yelp
This used to be one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the South Bay, but unfortunately, the experience has gone downhill--likely due to their growing popularity. I went there last Saturday for dinner with a party of five. We ordered a combo meant for four people, which was more than enough for us since we're not big eaters. However, the waiter insisted we order an additional item, so we complied to avoid any hassle. To make matters worse, when the bill arrived, we were required to pay a 20% tip--calculated after tax. I found that to be excessive and unreasonable. Sadly, it seems customer service has taken a backseat to arrogance

Yelp
I really wanted to enjoy my visit to Gooyi Gooyi, but unfortunately, the experience with one particular server completely soured the night. From the start, his attitude was condescending. When we ordered alcohol, he only asked for IDs from a few of us. When we asked why not everyone was carded, he replied, "Oh I have five kids, so I know how it is." which felt presumptive and inappropriate. When we tried ordering just a combo, the server kept insisting that we needed to order more simply because we had five people, even after we explained that only four of us were eating. He seemed visibly annoyed and made a face, which made us all uncomfortable. On top of that, when we were paying he told us that tipping 18% was required something that was never mentioned before and felt completely inappropriate given the level of service. Later, when the server left the meat on the grill for too long and we took it off ourselves, he returned and sarcastically said, "Oh, you want to cook for yourself? Okay, go ahead. Play with your food." which was rude and uncalled for. After that, he turned our grill to a higher heat out of spite which caused the meat to start burning. Another server had to step in and lower the heat for us. Overall, the food was fine, but the service was disappointing and left a bad taste in our mouths. We came in excited to enjoy a meal together, but the experience was soured by the attitude and behavior of the staff. Definitely won't be returning.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night without a reservation--luckily we arrived just in time, as a few tables were still open. Shortly after we sat down, a line started forming. Parking was a bit tricky since it's in a small plaza. We ordered Combo #4 (feeds 4) for our party of five, plus an order of marinated fresh baby octopus. They served banchan on both ends of the table, so there was a ton of food to share. The sides included kimchi, fish cake, bean sprouts, seaweed salad, garlic, and what I think was fermented seafood (not sure of the name). They also had two salads: one with lettuce, cabbage, and onions, and a scallion salad. The dressing reminded me of Gen BBQ's salad--super tasty. Their dipping sauces included salt & oil, ssamjang, and a house sauce. It was my first time here, and I was pleasantly surprised that they do all the grilling for you! For such a casual spot, that was a great bonus. They spaced out the steamed eggs (we got 2) and soup (just 1), so the meal felt well-paced. At the end, they made kimchi fried rice with the leftover meat and veggies, which was so good and really filling. You can even ask for refills of the sides and salads, which is a huge plus. Service was friendly and consistent--they checked on us every now and then. We did have to ask for water refills, but otherwise, they were attentive. It's definitely on the pricier side, but the portions are generous and the food is delicious. I'd definitely go again--but with a group, since it's best for sharing and makes the most of the combos. Overall, a great spot for casual Korean BBQ where you can just relax and eat without doing the cooking yourself.

Yelp
While the place is small and dark, they carry huge portions and a large selection of meats. I got two orders of brisket and that was more than enough for 2 people. The table comes with lots of banchan options and I enjoyed their kimchi. It was fresh and crunchy! Each order comes with a bowl of rice and side salad as well. I enjoyed the food and liked that they cooked for us, but I will say it's a bit overpriced for two ppl. It would be more worth it with a bigger group since the portions are big and you can split the tab.

Yelp
Gooyi Gooyi is the authentic charcoal Korean BBQ experience that has minimal frills and all the nostalgia of kbbq as it once was. Banchan was plentiful with free refills (many places are now requesting $$ for more than one refill) and included radish and rice paper wraps. Ssamjang dip and garlic were excellent touches. Service was swift (we were there at 5p sharp) as they cook the meat for you right on the grill. It is a small restaurant so keep that in mind though they do take reservations for larger groups. Parking is...difficult as it's a small plaza; may need circle over to the side streets. The eats: - went with the combo #1 for two people (brisket and pork belly) + steamed egg (fluffy, wish there was a bit more flavor though) + soybean soup (decent) for $65.99. Probably enough by itself - for the splurge: added seafood pancake (perfectly crispy yet soft inside...one of the better ones I've had) and the fried rice which includes kimchi and bean sprouts ($16). Probably went a bit overboard with the fried rice but worked great as leftovers. Pro tip: add some gojuchang sauce to the fried rice leftovers at home. Overall, excellent meal. Homey, down to earth environment and delicious.

Yelp
Never visiting again because their service was below average because the lady who cooked our food neglected our empty dishes even our table was messy and she never asked to refill our side dishes until we asked. Food is pretty much ok but the lady forced me to tip her minimum 18%. I already tipped her 15% but she said it is too little.

Yelp
Although the food was close to what I grew up eating in Koreatown LA. It's sad to say that when it was time to pay for the bill the woman was pressuring me to tip more 18%. Usually if your a table of 5/more gratuity is included but in this case it's not. I couldn't tell how much we ordered since it was written in Korean as well. They also suggest to pick one type of meat per person. The banchans or side dishes were very good and refilled them as much as we wanted. I also appreciated they offered side of greens and endless amount of salad. It was our first time and went with our friends who highly suggested this place. I have always seen this place very busy so we were very curious to try. Would we come back, maybe... not sure. The location is hard to find parking. So I suggest to come early. Also good to have reservations ahead of time.

Yelp
Best Korean spot in Korea Town, Sunnyvale. We located this spot while scrolling for a late night spot to eat around our neighborhood. We often used to late night doordash from this spot and always had great food. We opted for Korean BBQ and the minimum is two meats - we chose the pork belly & brisket. Immediately after ordering, a heaping amount of banchan came out and we barely had any room on our table. It also came with super yummy steamed eggl. The meat came out next and I was completely not expecting the waitress to start cooking for us. I'm so used to doing it myself when going out to eat so I was appreciative of the service. The meat was cooked faster than we were able to eat between two of us - but it was good! We ended up finishing our meal in under 15 minutes. We will definitely be returning!

Yelp
The place is located in a small plaza with a few parkings in front of the store. This place gives a home-y mom & pop vibe, and the staffs were really friendly and nice. I like their side-dishes, the flavors were just right, especially the seaweeds, crunchy and tasty. If you order BBQ, they will grill the meat for you so you can enjoy the perfectly grilled meats while talking to your friends. And they put light under the soju bottle too! It looks really fun!

Yelp
This place is absolutely authentic from ambiance, service to food variety with a reasonable price. I will never be disappointed every time I visit this place. I visited this place for multiple occasions with coworkers, friends and family gathering. Parking: they may have ice-cream cones reserved for you, please let them know you're eating there so they will let you park there. Please do not park else where because they only have limited parking spots available.

Yelp
**This is a DoorDash experience We ordered a combo 1 through DoorDash on a Thursday night and oh boy were we stunned with the amount of food we got! The banchan, meat, soup, and rice were perfectly packaged which was amazing! They gave us around 8-10 different banchans which were all so yummy! Then the meat was delicious and perfectly cooked. The soybean soup was packed with flavor as well! The kimchi spam fried rice was alright, not the best I've had but the portion was ginormous so that was a winner. I really enjoyed the DoorDash experience and would definitely try this spot in person!

Yelp
We continued our tour of the Korean BBQ in the Bay Area with a friends birthday dinner at Gooyi Gooyi. We think it was our favorite so far. The meat was tasty and they had these cool grills heated with natural coals. The staff are so friendly and they do most of the cooking for you. The only thing I'd caution against is the kimchi fried rice if you don't like seaweed as it is very heavy on the seaweed. They are generous with the sides and sauces. We did have to pay for lettuce wraps which was odd but we didn't mind since the food was so good. They also have beer, wine, soju and a good selection of soft drinks.

Yelp
** Visited on 7/3/2024 around 10pm I have been coming here for a few years now, and their food is pretty good but their service can be a hit or miss. This restaurant is a bit small, and the parking situation is pretty tough if they're super busy. My tip is to park in the residence by the light and to walk if you're not able to find any parking spots in their lot. Note that this restaurant's vibe is a eat, drink and talk so expect it to be on the more loud-ish side :-) OKAY THE FOOD: The food here is pretty good, we've been coming here for YEARS and it's honestly in our top 5 favorite restaurants for KBBQ. I'm usually visiting with a group of 2-5 and I've found #2 combo to be the perfect amount of food. We also add in kimchi fried rice (we ask to have it in the beginning of the meal rather than wait until we've eaten the meat cuts and then they'd cook the fried rice on the cauldron lid). Their side dishes car PLENTY and they'll refill any of your side dishes. If you get the salad and a bowl of green onions, trust me when I say to mix them together- it's super tasty and the perfect side salad for any combo. Key notes: * PLENTY of side dishes * pretty fresh cuts * combos are well worth the money * try to reserve a table ahead of time, if not then it's first come first serve

Yelp
I went there today with a party of six for dinner. We ordered a combo designed for four people, which was more than enough since we're not big eaters. However, the waiter insisted that we order an additional dish, and we reluctantly agreed just to avoid any inconvenience. To make matters worse, when the bill arrived, an 18% tip--calculated after tax--was automatically added. This felt excessive and unreasonable. Unfortunately, what could have been an enjoyable dining experience was overshadowed by poor service and unnecessary arrogance.

Yelp
The meats were super yummy, and our waitresses cooked everything for us. She was taking care of all of us in the back room, but she was still attentive to our meal. Maybe too attentive haha, we couldn't keep up with the eating. This was more than enough for three people. It comes with different types of meat, a salad, steamed egg, and a soup. Fair warning, they will make sure you have at least one order of meat per person! Overall, food was great, service was great, but the price was slightly steep. We left at ~60 per person.
google avatar

Albert R.

Yelp
The quality of the food here was so good. I couldn't stop eating the galbi. The service was very attentive and they did a great job cooking the food and getting you whatever you needed. The small business provided a very intimate ambiance and I can't wait to come again!

Yelp
This is the worse place it's not clean and they are so rude. And they force you to pay a lot of tip they said that is for the person how cook we paid 60 of tip.

Yelp
I can see the outline of a really neat KBBQ spot, but some significant shortfalls hamper the experience so it's hard for me to fully recommend. It's rare to find places that will cook the meats for you, so those who aren't so inclined will find solace here. It's a bit close-packed, but it's a bopping spot with kpop blaring through the speakers around the place. I genuinely did enjoy their banchan and kimchi fried rice options, but the meats were sadly way too overcooked. I get the sense it might be specific staff that are better about watching cooking time than others, since there was an older auntie that tried to catch our brisket overcooking, but wasn't there to see our pork belly and beef tongue face the same fate (as we wereen't her assigned table). So, I hedge my comments by saying YMMV. The menu does seem to have non-BBQ options and tables are sorted accordingly (BBQ vs non BBQ). Either way the BBQ prices are at a premium, so it's a bit of a tougher pill to swallow when the meat was so tough. The #1 combo would nominally be a pretty good deal (brisket, pork belly, tofu soup, steamed egg) as there were a lot of salads and side dishes that accompanied the table. Definitely better balanced composition compared to most KBBQ places. We added the beef tongue and kimchi fried rice options. Generally the meats were all rather overcooked so it's hard to judge quality (they were seared well, but very tough on the inside). The poor beef tongue was barely tender at all :(. Portions sizes seemed on the small side for the pricing relative to other KBBQ spots in the area. The steamed egg was reasonably prepared, but the tofu soup seemed to be a rather salty doenjang prep I wasn't too fond of. The banchan set was pretty thorough and legit though, plus they even give out a probiotic yakult analog to sweetly finish off the meal...so it's a shame to see it fall short due to our table's meat cooking. I wouldn't say no to giving it another whirl, but I'm hesitant to flip the coin again when I have options closer to me. At least they're open pretty late, so maybe another chance shall present itself.

Victor L.

Yelp
The food was mediocre at best. As other reviews have mentioned, the restaurant requires one meat per person if your party size exceeds the combo serving - which we understood and complied with. Unfortunately, the service was what truly ruined the experience. The owner was noticeably rude and passive-aggressive toward our group throughout the night. We politely asked if we could cook the meat ourselves, as a few people in our party had prior experience working in KBBQ and in the food service industry. Instead of a respectful response, the owner sarcastically told us we could "play with the meat" if we wanted. Later, he returned to our table to turn up the heat on our grill which felt intentional as if he wanted us to overcook the meat. When it came time to pay, I left a 15% tip out of courtesy to the staff who work there. However, the owner returned and insisted that we tip 18% because our party had five people. Given the way we were treated, I regret not standing my ground. Overall, the experience felt hostile and unwelcoming. The meat was also overpriced for the quality. I usually don't write reviews, but my experience tonight compelled me to share. We fully understand how stressful the food industry can be, and we always try to be respectful and patient as customers. That said, there's no excuse for the kind of rude and passive-aggressive behavior we experienced especially coming from the owner. We won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this spot to others

Yelp
Friendly environment!! Love the staffs. Price is a little bit pricey but the food quality í above and beyond

Yelp
I been here a hand full of times and it's always been satisfying. I like the vibe here. I get the combo that comes with the soju. Service is good! They cook the meat well and always refill the sides. Parking is limited at times but I was able to find street parking. This place is always packed because the food is great!

Yelp
I was having an awful day where all I wanted to do was rot in bed and cry. My husband got off late from the hospital, so he decided to pick up some Korean food, knowing that it's my go-to comfort food when I'm feeling sad. His coworker recommended the spot to him, and he ended up ordering some soup and bibimbap. As soon as the food touched my mouth, it melted my problems away and temporarily made them disappear into the back of my mind Thank you, Gooyi Gooyi, for taking care of us so late in the night!!! We will definitely come back for more takeout and dine-ins in the future!

Preston G.

Yelp
The food is very mid. I don't think I'll be back I didn't enjoy too much of the banchan like other places. Service is actually terrible and the owners are rude, I think they pay their servers In tips that's why they demand 18% all the time. The restaurant is not clean but I guess that's what you get when you eat at restaurants open late night. The only UP side here is it's open late, but parking is difficult. I would come here drunk but that's about it. Just know this place DEMANDS tip wether you like the Service or not, and it doesn't matter if your a table for 1 they DEMAND you to tip 18% +
google avatar

Katherine W.

Yelp
If you're looking for traditional Korean BBQ, this place is a great option. The service is always fast, and the meat and banchan always taste amazing and fresh. It is on the pricier side but it's my go-to spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Been coming here more than 10 years. It's my favorite go to spot for Korean BBQ. The servers are super nice and attentive. Top quality food and service.

Eric V.

Yelp
First off, parking sucked, had to find street parking. When we got in, thought the food was not bad, but when the bill came out, it was no itemized, and in my head I was not sure if they added a surcharge already for gratutity. Was not sure because it just gave me the total and asked for a tip, not sure If i was being scammed or not, I added an extra 15 to an unusually high bill for 2. The server came back and said "this is not even a 10 percent tip", "can you check off one of the other boxes" (he was referring to the suggested tips with percentages). Extremely off putting, if you want to charge more than do it, but don't go begging me for an additional tip at the end of my meal. Tipping is optional not mandatory. Poor way of doing business, I would have returned back if it wasn't for their unprofessional behavior.
google avatar

Lexi C.

Yelp
Love this place for the sides and meats!!! Totally professional and the service is helpful, sweet and straight to the point. The food is cooked beautifully by the staff and has a wonderful smokiness from the grill they use. Meat is cooked to the perfect doneness, there's no guessing here! For drinks I recommend the ginseng soju it's got a light sweetness and great honey like flavor.

Tizi N.

Yelp
I came here because it was one of the few BBQ spots open late at night, which is convenient. But the food wasn't that great--just average at best. Prices are pretty high for the quality. The service was okay, nothing special. It's an option if you're hungry late, but don't expect amazing food or value.
google avatar

Noah A.

Yelp
High quality KBBQ in a hole-in-the-wall style place. Best quality KBBQ at a semi-premium price that I've found in this area. Brisket, pork belly, and beef tongues are all good here. Sides include the standard large array of banchan, including rice wraps and salad. If you order a combo (which you should), you'll also get steamed egg, doenjang jigae, and a drink with some combos. Service is quick and efficient, though expect to need to flag down a waiter if you need a refill on water on a busy night. Call ahead and make a reservation for weekend nights. When parking, park around the corner - parking lot is always full. This is a great place to get BBQ with friends, celebrate a fun occasion, etc. Due to crowded atmosphere and being located in the same strip mall as a liquor store and sex shop, I would not recommend this place for a first date.
google avatar

Calvin L.

Yelp
This place be SCAMMING. For example if you order a set meal they'll try and act like more dishes are already included in the set so they can charge you extra for the additional dishes afterwards. They PREY on customers here and HARASS people heavily over tips. They often charge service fee automatically and set it up so people think they have to add an additional tip afterwards. Make sure to check your bills here since they will add fraudulent charges. This business is FRAUDULENT and a SCAM! Plus the food was MID and EXPENSIVE.
google avatar

Alyson C.

Yelp
All the negative reviews claiming that workers pressure you to tip more is seemingly valid, but that wasn't my experience, at least. (Note: I came with a Korean-speaking friend) I thought service was really fast and the amount of banchan was soooo worth it. It's great that you can order combos (which is their main thing) and it comes with egg soup, kimchi fried rice, and a pancake. The meat was so tender and the flavor was amazing. I think it's one of the better KBBQ places I've tried with quality meat. I recommend coming here if you're not worried about the service, otherwise, it might spoil your experience like these other Yelpers.

Patty O.

Yelp
3.5 stars Ordered the four person set however realized that none of those items featured any marinated meats so that was kind of a let down. The place itself is very small and cramped, and the parking lot itself is pretty difficult. Had to park on the street in the neighborhood down Los padres to get a spot. They cook all the meats for you , including the kimchi fried rice. The food featured banchan and their kimchi was amazing. Service was just ok, had to ask to get any banchan or salad refilled. The set comes with beer or soju choice. Dessert was a Yakult. Given the place is very small, reservation is recommended. You get about 90 minutes to finish your meal before you're politely kicked out

Yelp
A friend of mine invited me to Gooyi Gooyi 4 years ago. She said she came to this place since high school! I have to say It is one of my favorite Korean BBQs in the Bay Area. I love the vibes and food. Totally cost is around $130 Vibes: good pop music and lighting! I personally really like it but I know some people can't accept the tasty. Kimchi Fried Rice: I always ordered and added pork sausage because it is really satisfy after a tired day. It includes seaweed and made it tastes even better! Totally cost: around $130 after tax and tips The service is ok: they cook in front of you. Parking: parking is really hard, I parked on the next store and walked to the restaurant

Yelp
I used to love this place. The problem is that it is a small restaurant with limited seating. And they use customers table to cook the take out. So, if you show up and they have order, you can watch someone cook to Uber Eat for an hour... pretty annoying.

Yelp
Food is decent, but we won't come back due to how uncomfortable they made us feel. They pressured us to order more than what we wanted, tried to cook the meat for us even after we politely asked to cook our own meat as a preference (honestly feels like they're trying to get more tips instead of actually caring about cooking the food for us), literally standing and waiting for us to put down the tip amount, etc. The owner seems mean to servers, and the servers always look stressed/unhappy, or maybe it's a just a cultural that I don't understand. Won't come back since we eat out to enjoy but it seems super uncomfortable/stressful the whole time being there.

Yelp
Came in for dinner with some friends on weds night and were the first table there. They will not seat you unless everyone is present. Super fast service and food came out immediately. They provide plenty of banchan for you + salad. There were 5 of us. Initially we got combo 5 but that was only for 4 servings. You have to get enough servings for however many people you're with so we ended up getting 2 different combos. The restaurant is small and it gets packed pretty quickly. We added Kim chi fried rice at the end. They basically just cook the leftovers with rice. Great service and decent meat quality.

Yelp
I AM NEVER COMING BACK. Came here for a Saturday night dinner with a friend. We ordered the seafood pancake and the #1 combo. The food was fine, nothing special. The thing that stood out to me was the rude service. We asked to clarify if the kimchi rice was extra after they had taken away our menus and our waitress said "no", but it still showed up on the bill as 16 dollars extra. 2 of our 3 Visa cards were declined for some reason and they blamed us. And worst of all the waiter looked at our receipt after I signed and aggressively demanded more tip. He stood at the end of our table and made it very uncomfortable for us to leave.

Yelp
One of the best-kept secrets in San Jose! Gooyi Gooyi is a small, cozy spot serving top-tier Korean BBQ with the best quality meats. The owners are the sweetest--they remember faces, cook for you, and make you feel right at home. Feels like a true home-cooked meal every time. Definitely underrated but SO worth it!

Yelp
One of my favorite KBBQ places!! This is a good late night spot, although it can get really busy and loud the later you go, especially on the weekends. They can accommodate big groups, you just have to call and reserve a table. Parking is awful because it's located inside a very small strip mall with very limited parking spaces, so we generally park in one of the neighboring residential streets and walk over (5 min walk). Service is no-nonsense and straight to the point which some might find rude / brash, but I don't mind it. Food comes out quick and they cook for you so the food always comes out perfect. Love all the banchan they give, especially the rice paper, green onion + lettuce salads. We typically get the combos and swap out the soybean soup for an extra steamed egg and always get the kimchi fried rice to take home. It tastes better reheated the next day!

Yelp
Ok food quality at best. They refused to let us cook for ourselves and kept cooking the food at very fast pace like trying to force us out. Left a 15% tip and the lady chased after us for 20% to make a scene out of the situation. Never ever ever coming back.

Yelp
Super small Korean bbq place, it is not AYCE and they basically cook for you on your grill. This is my friends favorite kbbq. They took us here and we shared a combo. It's not cheap, but the quality is there. We got the 4 serving combo. Comes with rib eye, short ribs, brisket, beef tongue for meats. We also ordered 2 extra meats- a prime rib eye and pork belly. The sides were seafood pancake, steamed egg, soju. We didn't get that soybean soup, so not sure if they forgot or it was replaced with something else... but we were drinking and I didn't realize after the fact. The banchan were delicious and service was good since my friends new the people there. Nice people and delicious food.

Yelp
This place is definitely my favorite place to get authentic kbbq. It is not AYCE and a bit pricey but definitely worth! It has really good high quality meat and the side dishes are super yummy. We got the combo #2 and it was enough to fill all three of us. And you can ask for your left overs to be made into kimchi fried rice. I also like that they cook it for you! The service is good because they have come around and cook. The place is a bit on the smaller side and it's really tough to find parking in the small lot which is why I gave it 4 stars. But definitely worth coming for good food! I would come back again and suggest anyone to come here.

Yelp
We came around 9 on a Wednesday night and there was quite a bit of people waiting. The two of us managed to snag a table in the back after about a 5 min wait. At first we ordered the corn cheese, seafood pancake, and the seafood noodle soup and then the waitress informed us that we were required to order BBQ (and was quite rude about it). We told her that we didn't want to BBQ and we're about to leave so she said she'll go ask her boss if it was ok. She came back asking what we wanted to order, we gave her our order again and she said "not enough, have to order one more item." A little put off by this but at the same time hangry, we added a beef bibimbap to our order. After our initial interaction with the waitress the service was great and the food was good. My bf said the seafood pancake was the best he's had. It was also our first time having kalguksu and really enjoyed it.

Yelp
First time here and I give this place 1 star because the quality of the meat is good and the selection of ban chan is good. The reason I'm giving this place a low score is for the service. First this place requires 1 meat dish per head. It has to be a meat dish. We had 8 people and tried ordering a combo, two meat dishes and some other dishes but the waitress stopped us and said no you have to order 8 meat dishes before you can order anything else because there is 8 of you. I said are you serious and she kept saying 8 people 8 meat dish. At that point I was thinking are we being scammed and wish I had read the reviews before we came. But upon reading other reviews I guess it's their new rule because two friends of mine recommended this place and was never told of this rule. So I reluctantly went ahead and ordered more than we wanted. Second, while waiting for our food, a couple next to us had just paid and was about to walk out when our waitress chased down the gentleman before they got out the door saying they didn't tip enough. The customer said this is how much we feel we want to tip and the waitress started arguing with the customer which I thought was bizarre. We should have upped and left at that point but we had just finished ordering 8 plates of meat that I regretted. Third, when the meat came out the waitress was cooking our meat so fast I felt so rush it was uncomfortable. She kept coming back cooking more and more meat I could barely finish chewing before more meat was being bbq. While she was cooking our meat she said did you make a reservation because the owner will tell you it's one meat per person and I said no. She said no she tells everyone it's 1 meat per person and I said no she ask me how many kids and I said we have 3 adults and the rest teens. She said ok. The waitress proceeded to tell me there is a sign at the door that said 1 meat dish per person which I never saw which means it was not visible enough while we waited 20min for our table to be ready so even though the lady on the phone said don't be late because we are busy. We were 2 min late but our table was not ready. It's not ok for customers to be late but it's ok for the restaurant to be? Yes, I know customers tend to take longer to eat so you can never be exact on when your table will be ready but don't tell someone don't be late if you can't hold yourself to the same standard. Fourth reason, my friend told me they usually would cook kimchi fried rice at the end but we were never offered. Instead the waitress handed us our bill and hovered over us while we check marked the lowest tip at 18%. Lastly we were only 2min late cuz we had to circle around because there was no parking in their lot so we were stuck at the red for so long and had to look for street parking. This is a one a done place. Never again. $500 for dinner. It was NOT worth the price even if the quality of meat is good. Some reviews say service is great because of how attentive they are but it was more like rush to cook everything to get you to hurry and get out. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I REPEAT I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Yelp
This place has a really nice vibe, small korean style restaurant. We were a party of 4, and we wanted to order the 3 serving combo because we had late lunch, but they require you to order a serving for each person. We ended up ordering a marinated galbi on the side. The service is nice. They grill everything for you, but i felt like they were grilling everything so fast. At one point, all the meat was sitting on one side (overcooked and dry). Meat quality is not that bad. Side dishes were pretty good except for the bean sprout. It tasted a little bit old. Love that they serve ice-cold water. It's not a bad place, but not the best.

Yelp
Great Korean BBQ place to eat!! The side dishes were to die for, and it's a must-visit spot. Celebrated my best friend's birthday here, and she absolutely loved it. Our favorites were the shredded green onions, house salad, and rice papers here! This is rare because most Korean restaurants don't offer rice papers. We were also able to get refills for all of the side dishes. The servers were very nice and attentive. They will come by to cook the KBBQ for you, so you can relax and enjoy. The steamed eggs were so good and fluffy! We went for combo #3 and added beef tongue (One of my favorites), and I love how they had variety of dipping sauces. Choosing your combo is easy. We also ordered Kimchi fried rice, which they prepare for you at the end using any leftover meat.

Yelp
I've been here once before (3 months back) and the food was good and customer service was normal. Though this time around, we made reservation for 3 on Friday night but due to rude and disorganized customer service we left and went to Gaboja (next door, same plaza) instead. TLDR: poor/rude customer service when checking in; inconsistent instructions for waitlist and policies, each staff will tell you something different with unfriendly demeanors and it is chaotic. I get some times restaurants are busy and staffs are stressed, but if the feedback is consist with poor service and issues with staff, this isn't an case by case issue and this is an order of operations problem that needs to be addressed. It doesn't matter how good the food is, if I have to pay for service fees and have interactions with the staffs, I will not tolerate rudeness and snarky attitudes.
