The 11 Best Restaurants In Victoria

"There are several food outlets at Market Halls Victoria, but Gopal’s Corner is the stall where you’ll find a queue starting to form the moment it opens at 12pm. And after that? It’s a free-for-all with buzzers vibrating against tables as order after order of roti canai are delivered to hungry diners. This spot is from the folks behind Roti King, and just like the Malaysian mini-chain, it’s got a winning formula of reasonably priced, soft, flaky flatbreads served with bowls of hearty curry. Just opposite Victoria Station, it’s a quick win for commuters and coach-goers." - heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna

Google
had an incredible experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented on a banana leaf, which added a nice authentic touch. The service was efficient, and the ambiance had a welcoming, vibrant vibe. One thing to note: they only accept card payments, no cash, so make sure you're prepared. Overall, a truly iconic spot for anyone who loves great food and a unique dining experience. Highly recommended!

Google
My Malaysian friend introduced me to this place, and ever since, it’s been my go-to spot whenever I'm in London. I absolutely love the food here — it’s incredibly delicious and full of flavour. The portions are generous, and the banana leaf servings remind me of my hometown, which adds a personal touch. The service is always warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this place if you're in London — it’s a must-try!

Whenever I’m near Victoria I’ve to check in to Gopal’s! Best Malaysian cuisine so far. This time I had Nasi goreng, fried okra , fish fry and tea. Every item is tasty and unique. They also serve platter in banana leaf A must try place just opposite of Victoria station.

My wife and I originally came to Market Halls Victoria just for a coffee, but we were pleasantly surprised to find Gopal’s Corner offering authentic Malaysian food. Naturally, we couldn’t resist! We took a look at the menu and ended up ordering Mee Goreng Mamak and Teh Tarik and skipped the coffee altogether! Alhamdulillah, the food did not disappoint. The flavours were truly authentic, just like what we would have back home in Malaysia. Most importantly, the food is HALAL, which gave us peace of mind. The portions were generous, the prices reasonable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Aside from Gopal’s Corner, there are other food stalls offering Thai, Mexican, and more, all in a relaxed food court-style setting. It wasn’t too crowded when we visited, and the seating area was comfortable and well-arranged. We also noticed many international visitors choosing food from Gopal’s Corner, the response was clearly very positive. A great spot to enjoy the taste of Malaysia right in the heart of London. Keep up the great work, Gopal’s Corner! Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic, halal Malaysian cuisine.

Google
Best Malaysian food in London! I absolutely loved the banana leaf dishes so full of flavour and authenticity. Every bite felt like a trip to Malaysia. The portions were generous, the service was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was vibrant. I would highly recommend everyone to try it at least once. You won’t be disappointed!

Google
Some lovely flavours, especially their sauces. The curry and laksa were not as flavourful as I have had before but still very decent. Service was fine but not much warmth or enthusiasm to describe dishes.

Google
I always enjoy visiting Market Halls Victoria especially as they allow dogs (during the day). My favourite vendor is Gopal's Corner. I can recommend their veggie options, especially the banana leaf plate. Their roti is also amazing.

Absolutely incredible South Indian and Malaysian food! Gopal’s Corner in Victoria is a hidden gem, serving up some of the most authentic and flavorful dishes I’ve had in London. The dosas are crispy and perfectly spiced, the Nasi Goreng is damn delicious. The service is warm and efficient, even when they’re busy, and the atmosphere inside Market Halls Victoria is lively and fun. If you love bold flavors, comforting food, and a great dining experience, Gopal’s Corner is a spot you don’t want to miss. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place was located in the food court next to the Victoria Station. Surprised to see such a beautiful presentation of yummy food from a place that looked like a fast food like place. London was full of such surprising places and glad we chanced upon this place. Fish fry was good! 4/5. The veggie thali was more like 3/5. The curries on the thali were ok, nothing outstanding, but it was complete with fried chilli and appadam. Dosa was a 5/5.

Yelp
Delicious roti canal and fried chicken. My son stole half of my roti. We may stop and get some more on the way home after our musical.

Yelp
Vegetarian banana plate has delightful flavors and a beautiful presentation! Market Halls Victoria Station easy walk from Westminster Abbey.

Yelp
This place rocks. Very good for fast food in a food court type of place. The parotha (Malabar style Barota) are made to order and taste incredibly good We ordered Vegi meals, masala dosa and some parathas . The veggi meal had okra curry( decent) , pumpkin curry ( very good), rice , sambhar(exceptional) along with a spicy chutney 2 pappadums and 2 curd chillies. Very very good meal. Sambhar was as good as the ones we have had in Chennai. Masala dosa was very good too, the potatoes masala was vv good . Dosa it self was pretty dry . It could use a hint of ghee . Overall great meal. It is in the Market Halls food court across Victoria station. On the floor above ground floor. Live music , choice of beer and a taco stand( Damn Fine Tacos) .. make it an amazing experience . It is a self service place, not a served to the table. It could use a bit more vegetarian entrees in the menu.. like some Malay noodle dishes, etc.

Yelp
I'm coming back again. My eternal search for good Malaysian, South Indian, Sri Lankan cuisine brought me to Gopal's Corner by Roti King in Victoria. Amazing. Next time I need a trip back to try the Banana Leaf Meal. Dahl Kari - possibly one of the best - hit all the right buttons. Lamb Murtabak - amazing - makes me want to try the Goat Kari next time. Teh Tarik did not disappoint either. Yeah!!!

Yelp
Nice food and helpful at the register with even the more needy customers with questions.

Yelp
The cashier was welcoming and nice but when I asked about the menu choices & spice level the lady right behind her had given me the dirtiest look. She looked disgusted that I've asked about the food at all. Owner? Chef? Not sure. Man grilling roti canai towards the front also looked up to glare at me. Does this establishment not welcome business? My money is not needed? Drop the arrogance and be more welcoming. Tried the Kari Kambing and the portion had very few meat pieces in it. The papadum was a bunch of crispy shards all broken up in my take away container. No eating utensils was provided. Worst of all, I was still hungry after eating everything. I'm a tiny girl but even the plating was too little for me. Never again. Not recommended.

Yelp
I was on travel in the UK and stumbled upon this gem! Amazing and authentic Indian food.

Yelp
By far one of the best Malaysian restaurants I've ever been to. You order at the counter and can sit in the common area right in front. There's usually plenty of seating and it's such a cozy decorated area. The people behind the counter are very kind as well! And the food... oh gosh the flavors are just out of this world. We got one of the banana leaf platters, with one of the Kari lamp stews with roti and the the egg noodles and and curry noodles. Everything was SO delicious and i wish I lived nearby to go here more often. 10/10 recommend!! And they're halal!

Yelp
It was my last day in London and I usually go to my favorite dim sum restaurant Orient for my last meal for the trip. Husband wants to show me some thing different and we came here instead. The food is outstanding and honestly I haven't been to Malaysia for at least 10 years and I do miss some good authentic Malaysian food. I had the laksa and husband had the mutton kari banana leaf platter. Both were really delicious. Would go back when next time I go back to London.

Yelp
I happened to be near Victoria Station and starving, and so was pleasantly surprised to find a Malaysian stall at the Victoria Market food court across from the station. Seemed way more interesting than Pret a Manger! Indian Malaysian, or Mamak, with some banana leaf platter meals, laksa, and a guy making roti canai/murtabak in the window. The curry laksa was legit and so was the teh tarik. Super busy spot, with a constant flow of customers.

Yelp
Rendang beef curry--oh yeah. I don't often see it on the menu at South Indian/Sri Lankan places but they have it here. The quality wasn't gourmet, but was very good. It came with two "veg of the day" sides, which were tasty and nicely complementary; also rice and crispy bread of some sort. It's in a hipster food court which gets CRAZY busy in the after work/dinner hour, so one has to troll for seats. There's a bar where you can grab a drink, and you could mix and match various ethnic foods from various vendors if you wanted. Yum.

Yelp
Their pulled milk tea (Thea Tarik) is sweet and hearty. Equivalent of Indian chai sans spices, enough to wake you up after a good lunch without giving you heart burn.

Yelp
The food here is so good! We ate here on Saturday before catching a train from Victoria and it was so good, that when we returned on Sunday, we picked up food from here for dinner at home! I rarely go back to the same place in London to eat in a month, and I was back the next day! The food tastes much better if consumed fresh on site than if it's packed for takeaway The roti chinai we tried with dhal, chicken curry and beef rendang. My vote would be for the chicken curry. The first day we got a really large roti, on the second day we got a set of 2 smaller rotis. Murtabak - we tried the chicken and lamb. Lamb wins hands down! I also had the lamb curry thali and that is a complete meal. The veggies are seasonal and oh so yum! I was delighted to see king fish (sear fish) on the menu, so I had a slice of that as well. Such a fantastic taste of home. The masala dosa was fantastic. The chilled lemon honey drink was perfect on the side. The food is typical to Tamil Malaysian cooking with its blend of South Indian and Malay flavours. There may be a bit of a wait at peak times, but nothing like the queue outside the original roti king in Euston. And the seating at Victoria market halls (where this is located) is much more open and comfortable. Heavily recommended

Yelp
This a wonderful hidden gem right outside of Victoria Station inside Market Halls. For those who aren't aware of Market Halls, they're usually large buildings, pubs, library's etc. that have been converted to food halls serving up various dishes from around the world. Unlike Carnaby Streets equivalent 'halls', it's not so packed considering how mega busy the area is. Considering how packed it's main flagship branch Roti King (Euston) is, not mention it's closed on Sundays, this is the next best thing if you want Sri Lankan / Malay food (arguably even better). Menus simple, price is descent and food tastes fresh and gives you a feel good factor after you've been. Plus it's halal! Some of the condiments portions could be larger but it's kept small to get you returning back for more. Would recommend for sure.

Yelp
Part of the really wonderful food court here at Victoria. If you are not here at the peak lunch hour, you'll do well, otherwise you might struggle to find a seat. The teh tarik is too sweet and not frothy enough (it needs to be pulled, not pre-made) but the laksa was flavorful and worthy.

Ajay S.

Yelp
Food has good flavor, service is fast Finding a table to sit is hard but that's the case for the whole food court. Prices are reasonable.

Sugat P.

Yelp
Excellent food, well spiced. Friendly service. Fairly priced. Would definitely eat there again.

GREG S.

Yelp
Ordered the Chicken and Roti plate ... excellent Malay style curry with freshly prepared melt-in-your-mouth Roti flatbread. Price was reasonable and under 9 GBP. The only downside is finding a table at the busy and noisy food hall during dinner. If I was in the area of Victoria Station then I would certainly return and recommend this counter-serve cafe highly

Yelp
Had the roti canai with dhal last week and it was so spot on. Exactly like the roti in Penang and SG.

Yelp
First time trying Malaysian food. This does look like a hidden gem in a pretty cool spot
