Very basic restaurant. Only good thing is the view. Options on the island are limited so they don’t try to improve themselves. Small portions compared to other restaurants we went to . I asked to switch the mashed potatoes in one dish ( as I do in most restaurants we go to ) but my request was rejected! I was told the kitchen won’t do this :( Why ???? My kid’s dish was missed so he had to eat with us. It only arrived when we were leaving . The waitress was not pleasant at all. Advice : take your own food to the island . Most accommodations has small kitchen. Won’t dine here again :(

The place offers a magical view and is cozy, clean, and spacious for three people. Communication with the owner was excellent, and the Airbnb listing accurately reflected our experience. It would be great to have blinds throughout for added privacy and comfort. Also, the outside patio had a bottle full of cigarette butts, which was likely overlooked during the last cleaning.

Amazing food and top notch service! Prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. Definitely worth checking out if you're on the island.

Food was great, atmosphere casual but still elegant. Prices expeeeensive. $28.00 for the steak and shrimp, and around $21 for a Thai noodle salad. Ouch!

Loved this gem. Quiet, peaceful neighborhood just minutes walk to virtually everything. Clean, fully equipped with everything you need for short stays. Fantastic view of the bay. Very responsive host. Will definitely return!

Delicious food, very accommodating for our tour group needs, beautiful location and quaint homey atmosphere made our trip effortless.

Thanks to the staff at Gordie's for a wonderful lunch. We enjoyed the vegetarian burger, calamari, and salads - all very good. We had the salmon platter with eulachon grease. It's an acquired taste and completely unique. We think it has magical powers. The young lady serving us shared stories on how the families make the gleetna and its importance to them. We really appreciated that.

Well prepared food in a casual environment. The seafood is excellent, we tried the calamari and coconut shrimp. The cakes have a comforting homemade vibe.

Took the 40 Minute ferry from Port McNeill to Alert Bay with our bicycles to check out Cormorant Island and what was supposed to be (and was) a very cool First Nations museum on the Island. We rode our bikes around Alert Bay and we're glad we took the day trip, it was well worth our time. What we did not expect was to find a place to eat as good as Pass N Thyme. The lovely K ordered the Clubhouse with fries, and I the Grill Cheese with salad. What caught my eye on the menu was the three cheeses in the sandwich. Now we see that at places like Burgoo in Vancouver but Alert Bay? Turns out they make their own bread, buns and if they make their own bread and it tastes as good as it did you are in for a treat. Our waitress was attentive, took our order promptly, smiled and did all of the things good wait staff do. The food was excellent, fresh and well prepared. A real treat! Do yourselves a favour if you are in Alert Bay and give Pass N Thyme a chance, you'll be very glad you did!

We had two meals here and enjoyed both of them very much. The view is pretty spectacular, the food is delicious, and the service is great! All of the restaurants in Alert Bay close early, so make sure you look up the hours. I would give it 5 Stars if the entrees were maybe $2 to $3 cheaper each.

I found this restaurant to be a little overrated. Very pricey, and I was very disappointed in what they called a Greek salad. Really nothing more than a bunch of spinach and black olives. A few slices of tomato and cucumber, very thin slices, placed around the edge of the bowl. The garlic shrimp were served in an overly creamy sauce. The service was excellent, and because they're on the second floor it has a nice view.

Pass'n Thyme is one of the best restaurants in the north island region and your go-to restaurant on Alert Bay. We had dinner there our first night in town after a long day of travel and also lunch the following day. The food was wonderful and so was the service. The folks who operate this place are so nice! The members of our group all loved their food and tried the Thai Chicken Salad, Thai Chicken Wrap, Chicken Parmesan and several other items. And the Rhubarb Pie was delightful!

Pretty much your best and one of your only choices in Alert Bay. However, this does not mean there is any sacrifice in quality of food and service. I've been coming up here for several years every winter and always find them to have good food, great service plus a nice atmosphere. The restaurant is family owned and run, which is really awesome! Everything there is always good, although I especially like the dessert. Be sure to check their hours as during the off season they can vary.

Excellent view, excellent food and wonderful staff. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner on the waterfront of quaint Alert Bay.
