Took the 40 Minute ferry from Port McNeill to Alert Bay with our bicycles to check out Cormorant Island and what was supposed to be (and was) a very cool First Nations museum on the Island. We rode our bikes around Alert Bay and we're glad we took the day trip, it was well worth our time.
What we did not expect was to find a place to eat as good as Pass N Thyme. The lovely K ordered the Clubhouse with fries, and I the Grill Cheese with salad. What caught my eye on the menu was the three cheeses in the sandwich. Now we see that at places like Burgoo in Vancouver but Alert Bay?
Turns out they make their own bread, buns and if they make their own bread and it tastes as good as it did you are in for a treat.
Our waitress was attentive, took our order promptly, smiled and did all of the things good wait staff do.
The food was excellent, fresh and well prepared.
A real treat! Do yourselves a favour if you are in Alert Bay and give Pass N Thyme a chance, you'll be very glad you did!
