Gordito Amigos

A wide variety of Vegan options as well as the usual fare. Our first time there, we ordered Vegan Nachos and Quesadilla and 4 different tacos with meat and shrimp. My second time there I tried the Quesadilla, definitely needs more cheese, which I will next time. We went there at opening, 11 on a Sunday morning. This place is just 2 blocks from the campus and we were able to find parking.

I had some of the best vegan nachos I've EVER had when I came here to Gordito Amigos while in the neighborhood. I appreciate that they have a separate vegan menu and even prepare the vegan items in a separate area to avoid contamination with animal products. The vegan nachos had the perfect amount of melted vegan cheese, guacamole, and vegan sour cream. I also got it with vegan carne asada which was pretty good. There were also mushrooms - not sure if that comes with the vegan nachos themselves or with the carne asada, but that made me EXTRA happy as I love mushrooms. And big plus: the chips managed to stay crunchy for the whole meal, which does not often happen. My family really seemed to enjoy their (non-vegan) items (tacos, burrito, quesadilla). I also had their horchata (which happens to be vegan) and it was quite delicious. I also like that you can order ahead of time on Snackpass. Will definitely do that next time I'm in the area, and I'll definitely be getting the vegan nachos again!

There's a Chipotle 3 mins away, you'll be happier. The food at Gordo is served fast, $8 for regular burrito, $9 for super, $4 for each taco. The choices for salsa are mild tomato and sicy. The flavors are flat to OK. The Guacamole is fresh packed, but missing lime (or lime flavor).

Wow. Just wow. Worst burrito I ever had. They charge all this extra money for carne and it was borderline vegan. This place is NOT your amigo if you like meat in your burrito.

We had the Vegan California Burrito and Vegan Quesadilla and they were delicious. So filling and satisfying. I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Burritos and Quesadillas. I can't wait till I go back there and try their non-vegan options.

This place deserves better than the poor reviews it's gotten. My Breakfast Burrito was quite tasty as were the Barbacoa Tacos. They give you free chips and tasty Pico De Gallo with every plate too, including each single Carne Asada Taco I got for each of my kids. My only complaint was the structural integrity of the burritos. They dripped and came apart too easily. This place nails the flavor, but when I get a burrito, I don't want to have to worry about it coming apart. Still totally worth a quality Mexican food meal on Telegraph Ave.

Fantastic food! Finally a great place to get plant-based food across the street from the Berkeley Animal Rights Center. The vegan carnitas are the best!

Vegan food is delicious—totally separate menu, prep station + equipment (see pics)! Will keep in mind for catering... Totally impressed.
