Hubby and I were starving in Atlanta with a layover while flying coach coast to coast. We knew we needed more than peanuts and pretzels to nourish our all-day travel, so we stopped in at Gordon Biersch, hoping to find some healthy eats. (Everything downstairs in the terminal looked like fried and more fried.)
We scored a seat by the window, ordered 2 iced teas and relaxed and watched the planes come and go. The atmosphere was much more pleasant than the eateries in the terminal downstairs.
We ordered the seared ahi to split, and our expectations were not high, being that we weren't particularly close to the ocean. It took longer than you would expect in an airport, but we had a long layover, so it wasn't a problem. When our order arrived, we were given the ahi and greens, rather than the seared ahi. The dish was not as filling to split, since the seared ahi came with rice; however, the ahi we received was very fresh and tasted delicious.
Aside from screwing up our order, the server was very nice and kept our teas refilled. We didn't bother telling him we got something other than our order, and we didn't dock his tip, since he was such a nice fellow.
Overall, 3 stars and the comment that the ahi was surprisingly fresh for an airport restaurant.
